I once did everything in my power to save lives.
Now I stand aside and watch men die.

The man I love must kill one of his own. Someone he considered a brother, a fellow Steel Demon, put the entire club in danger. As president, Reaper must crush every last threat to his people, or the Steel Demons MC could cease to exist altogether.

Reaper is ruthless. His justice is punishing. But despite his name, he takes no pleasure in executing someone he once trusted. The task is weighing on him. That’s why he needs me.

But he’s not the only one.

The vice president with the seductive charm needs me. The silent soldier with terrifying nightmares needs me. And the sweet, golden man with the falcon on his shoulder? It scares me how much I need him.

All of these men have killed without hesitation. They all battle demons I can’t begin to fathom. In my journey to combat violence with healing, I found my home with men just as cruel as they are loving.

Can I be fearless enough to love them all?

Sons of Anarchy meets The Handmaid's Tale in this dystopian reverse harem adventure! Fearless is the third book in the Steel Demons MC saga. This series is full of kindle-melting steam and dangerous men who take what they want. Proceed with caution if easily offended.

I love this series. There's just something unforgettable about it. I read a lot. It takes quite a story for me to remember and stay locked in until the next book. This has it in spades.

Let's break it down. The first 80% of the book was good and I loved it, but most of it is what I consider "filler." I still love it, but it is mostly about navigating life in the SDMC compound. It's important because it builds the story by way of its relationships. After all that's why we read, right?! The character growth and depth of the story happen one word at a time.

The minute they journey to a new place... that's the danger in this world. Outside the safety of home, danger lurks.

I really want to applaud Crystal Ash for not leaving us hanging on a life or death cliffhanger with one of the lead characters. She trusts us to continue reading without that type of lure. I really appreciate that. It's refreshing.

I do like the little lure at the end she did leave us with... because it doesn't leave us feeling incomplete or overwhelmed by not having the next book. It does set us up to think about what's really going on in their world though.

Now spoilers and speculation BELOW...

Mariposa - medic and FMC... I love her. Her background isn't tragic and she is open minded. Her strength lies in her ability to give others a choice and in her compassion.

Reaper - SDMC President, first in Mari's harem. His bond with Hades is the opposite of what it appears. He is rough around the edges but does a lot of it to keep everyone safe.

Jandro - SDMC VP and second member of Mari's harem. He is the loyal friend and caregiver to SDMC. He is a mechanic and raises chickens. He lives with Shadow and regrets having to lock him in at night.

Gunnar - sergeant at arms, third harem potential, bond with Horus, went willing with Mari when captured, and hesitant about sharing though I think he's in love with Mari.

Shadow - PTSD, nightmares, probably will be the 4th harem member, can see in dark with his blinded eye thanks to a different bird (not Horus), crazy strong, perfect aim, also has strong feelings for Mari, is thinking about her a lot, and is coming to trust her.

Freya - kitten!

So now we have three gods - Horus, Hades, and Freya. There are probably more out there in the world. I wonder why they are Norse, Greek, and Egyptian. But Freya and Hades are gods of war and death. Horus is god of life in one way but in death he is Osiris. So does that mean something? Probably. I may need to look some of this up... lol.

I can't wait for the next book!

These books are addictive and intriguing, they're like crack to me.

Never have I read a reverse harem that has been portrayed this way to me. Ash pays such special attention to the dynamics of everyone involved in this relationship, so much different aspects of the relationship. The gift that it is, the difficulties that may come with it, the working out of things, everything is just so rich about this series and this latest book doesn't disappoint.

Then there's the magical realism aspect of this series. It's not a genre I have a lot of experience with but I'm loving the workings of it so far. I love the animals in this book, every single one of them is as important to me as the humans are.

Then you have the biker aspect. It's not your typical biker romance but I'm completely okay with that. With dystopian/slightly magical world that it is, it all makes sense. I do love that the brotherhood aspect is there and strong as ever though. Sigh, I can gush on about this series for more than a minute.

4.5 stars! I can't wait for the next book.

This book was mainly one big filler. Like 80%. Which I’m not even gonna complain about because we desperately needed character build up and back stories!
We have a huge leap in the established RH. Two mean and a potential third… when he gets his stick out of his ass.
And we have Shadow. Oh man… this is the main character that I am completely invested in and the reason why I keep coming back to reading this series. Because I desperately need this man to be a part of the RH and gets his HEA.

“You’re stuck with me, little butterfly, “I mumbled, sleep and relaxed bliss settling into my limbs. “You just had to go and make me fall in love with you. “

“You make me feel like I don’t have to be afraid of anything. With you, I’m fearless. “

Reaper, Gunner, Jandro, Shadow all have POVso it’s important to pay attention on chapters. There’s tons of action and drama that keeps you on your toes and reading this book all in one sitting. I’m loving the whole paranormal aspect of everything. And with the animals.. a new one is introduced to a character. They’re like God/Goddess guardians. - This series is so unique and I’m digging into the next book soon!

Don't mind me. I'm binge reading.

Here we start getting some answers and that supernatural hint is much stronger. I love the character background stories and after that cliffhanger... On to the next book.

This one here seemed a tad slower than books 1 and 2, but still a great read.

The third in this motorcycle club series and we're finally getting some of the important questions about the guys familiars answered.

An unexpectedly adorable ending to this compared to all the action that makes up the main part of the book.

A fair bit of why choose action as well makes it unsuitable for younger readers.

I assumed this was a trilogy when I started it, thinking the last book was out but that was not correct. This is not a trilogy. This book ends in a cliffhanger.

We still have the same world building issues and questions. The relationship has gone from h/H to H/h/H. No m/m in this, so far and I'm sadly, not expecting any at this point. Third H is resisting the Matriarchal harem idea but coming around. I assume that will happen in the next book...but will the 4th H enter than too or will there be yet another book? I wish I thought the sex scenes were more erotic than they are.

For sure, the world as it is now in this book has some mystical elements that are more pronounced as we go but there are no explanations so far.

Oh what a ride Fearless was!! Book three of the Steel Demons will keep you turning the page, needing to know what happens next. A lot happens here with action, of course lots of sexy times, feelings grow, and of course with some laughs. To me this series just keeps getting better and better.

Mari is with Reaper, but if you are caught up, than you know she is also with Jandro. She is trying to figure out having two lovers, wanting to add a third. The times that Mari is with the guys, getting to know them better, figuring things out. Just I could not stop reading. Gunner and Shadow, yeah we have some movement in that area. But we still have one that needs some more time to see if this is what he wants, to share Mari.

Overall the story was good, had a fast pace, some action, some sexy times, and a great ending. I would not say it is a cliffhanger, but it does open it up for what comes next. I loved it actually, can not wait to see what it brings.

This story has me hooked. Each book brings new adventures and I really have no idea what the next one holds.

I just hope Mariposa and her boys are happy. Things are complicated. Enemies are coming out of the woodwork, but as long as they stay together they will be stronger.

I can't wait to see what the new addition to the group will bring.

DNF at 38 percent - I was just too bored. Something carried me through the first two books that I couldn’t find in this one, and I cba to stick around. I couldn’t read another line of Mari casually mentioning that she’s a medic who wears scrubs to anyone and everyone.

Book 4

So I just knew it was too much to hope that book 3 would sum it all up but I was hopeful. We got a glimpse of the otherworldliness of the SDMC. Slowly but surely we learn of the connections and possible powers that exists with the original 5 and Mari. And I do love the slow pace and build up despite me wanting book 3 to be the sum up.

So at the beginning of Fearless you get to see the relationship between Mari, Jandro, and Reaper bud and blossom. Mari is figuring out how she wants things to go and Reaper is kind of guiding her in a very broad sense of the term. And Jandro is being patient. Allowing Mari to set the pace. A polyamorous relationship is completely new to Mari. Where as Reaper’s parents like that and Jandro grew up around Reaper so he saw how Reapers family was.

But I love that we get to watch all the steps of them learning each other. Even down to things they didn’t think about. Like Reaper having to see Jandro’s naked butt after sex. Or Mari wanting to make sure she can please both the guys while they please her. I really do enjoy the slow burn in the romance department as well as the slow walk into their world.

Of course Python, the traitor, had to be dealt with and his death brutal but necessary. But I feel as though Heather is going to try something conniving come book 4. She was putting on too much before after Python’s death for that to just be the end. And despite Reaper not caring for her I do hope she finds peace but it doesn’t seem likely.

Of course, as sweet and kind as Mari is, she gets duped at a traveling market. Stripped of her cut and almost sold. My conclusion for Mari is, she needs to learn how to fight. How to fight dirty and how to protect herself from people bigger than her. She can’t continue to just be the President and VP’s old lady and the club’s medic. If she is going to live this life she needs use what she knows about the human body and apply in defending herself. And I’m hoping her new little addition will that to her.

Mariposa, our no longer reluctant Heroine and Medic, is fully immersing herself in the Steel Demons lifestyle, enjoying the nights with Reapers while exploring the possibilities with Jandro. That part of this Reverse Harem is melding well, offering the characters a chance to get to know each other, and to love. There is also Gunner and Shadow, who each bring with them their own drama, past and difficulties - issues that Crystal Ash manages with both heart and understanding. I enjoyed seeing a potential member of a Harem with issues ABOUT being in the harem - instead of just jumping at the chance like everything is normal (as many books do, no aspersions.).... and don't even get me started on Shadow!

The PNR aspect I caught glimpses of in the beginning is brought into more focus here, though it is still not the main theme of the story. That happens to be the drama of a post-collapse world, the joining of lives and the mystery of who is really working against the MC. The paranormal is a side note.... though I have a feeling it is going to become MUCH more important after that final, cliffhanger scene.

Pros:
~ Well written.
~ People who actually have issues with a Harem type relationship.
~ The characters are growing and slowly exposing themselves to the reader.
~ Well edited.
~ Hades and Horus... plus that cliffhanger. Interesting times ahead!

Cons:
~ Left overs from Book 2 linger here and leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Perspective
~ First Person, Multiple POV

Ending Type
~ Cliffhanger, but not a bad one - more of a 'well that's interesting' type.

Rating
~ Mature

Romantic Dynamic
~ MMMMF

Well.. I'm just going to spit it out. This story has me completely wrapped up.. so much so that before leaving this review I had to dive right into book 4.. now I can't quite remember where this one ends and book 4 begins so I'm really going to have steer away from spoilers here.

Here is what I know:
-I'm totally stoked by the supernatural aspects here.. while they aren't prominent in the story itself.. its like an underlying thing that at the same time is screaming at the reader that this is important. Its confusing because I still don't totally know what is going on but at the same time I'm still super excited that its even part of the story.
-Traitors are revealed... and dealt with. Though I still don't quite understand why this general has turned on the guys to begin with.
-This book really brings forward a lot of focus on the relationships.. or even lack there of in some cases. We really get a slow intro into the RH aspect and its explained in a way that makes sense even to characters that aren't familiar with the way the matriarchal societies were ran prior to the lawlessness.

I wish I hadn't dived into book 4 so fast since its going to be a while before book 5 comes out.. I should have milked it..

Mari has found her place as the Club's medic and their President's Old Lady. She is learning how to navigate a poly-relationship. Reaper brings passion and Jandro keeps her laughing yet she still misses her Golden Boy Gunner. But when she needs him most, he is there. SO what does that mean for the future?

I have come to terms with Mari. She is never going to be the warrior I had hoped for but she has grown on me. She's a cuddler, not a fighter. I adore Reaper and really like Shadow. Jandro and Gunner still don't do much for me. They both still come across as superficial but I am sure they appeal to many. still love MC life and Hades and Horus still intrigue me. Even more now...

There is a little too much repetition which needs to be avoided moving into the next book. It may be losing momentum and that would be disappointing.

Mari and Reaper make a ton of progress in their relationship, and she finally starts to see what he was trying to tell her. Jandro joins the team officially, and he brings stability and sunshine. Gunner is the one who needs the attitude adjustment, and Shadow continues to come out of his shell around Mari. Again, readers need to beware, there is a brief scene of a non-con situation (not from the guys and actually toward one of the guys) from an outside source.

Gunner and Mari have a scary experience that pushes them closer, but he's still not ready to say yes. It really helps getting the multiple POVs to not get too upset with any of the guys because we can see why they do the things they do. Mari, Reaper, and Jandro certainly heat things up in this one!

Crystal Ash is an amazing author and this series further proves that for me. This is a well written story with multi-dimensional characters and great world building. No instant love either!

The only issue I have is a personal preference and nothing against the author. I came into this expecting a non paranormal, dystopian MC story. Now the first two books had hints of things but it wasn’t overwhelming. At the end of book 3 we are introduced to yet another addition cementing this as being in the paranormal genre.

I’ll keep reading the series because it is damn good but I can’t help that little bit of disappointment.

What I love about this series is yes it’s a reverse harem but it’s slow burn. Each relationship takes time to develop (minus her & Reaper). She doesn’t just jump in with them all. She’s hesitant in this lifestyle and that makes it more relatable. I mean having a group of men wanting to make you happy sounds amazing but who wouldn’t question it?

I still have questions about the fantasy aspect. I love the animals so much and I’m glad they’re apart of the story but I’m looking forward to learning more about their abilities and how they fit into it all.

This series keeps getting better & better and as you can tell I can’t get enough. 4 Stars!

We have so many feelings going on in this book. Mari has wormed her way into all of the Steel Demons hearts. Reaper, Jandro and Mari are inseparable. Mari still has feelings for Shadow and Gunner, but will they ever feel the same for her, because of their past and beliefs? What will happen if something should happen to her? What would happen if something happen to one of the guys? Can Mari handle what Reaper is going to do to Python? Can she help Shadow from his past? What about the animals are they gods? Can't wait to read the next book. I received a free copy for my honest review.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SOOOOO MUCH. I seriously couldn't hold in my excitement. It was full of drama, emotion and ALL THE SEXY.

I can't even just choose one anymore. I love them all. Shadow, Reaper, Jandro, Gunner.
Even little Foghorn T_T beauitfully written and I can't wait for more. I'm so excited for this series. I'll sacrifice my first born to get the next one sooner (Psst, that's a joke...maybe...yeah, it's a joke, but I really want book four!)

3.5 stars rounded up.

I think I might be starting to lose interest, there's A LOT going in here. And I'm not sure the fact that these are so short really gives enough space for both the smut AND the sort of plot that's trying to thrive when all the main characters seem to want to do is fuck.

I think I might stick around until they bring Shadow into the harem and once my curiosity is satisfied on how that's gonna work out I will bow out.

Also, the spanish still grates on my nerves.

Hell yes.
Things are going really well.
I’m almost sad about it just because of the amount of books still left, but still.
This was great.
I love how all of them are getting closer.
I love how the relationships are evolving and the characters are growing and getting better.

Plus that little bit of magic that’s always been in the background with their animals is getting even more interesting.

I’m so excited to see more.

Holy hell that was just amazing it kept me on edge throughout the whole book and I didn’t want it to end. You got to see more of the guys and Mariposa in a different light the softer side of them with her. But when they needed to dish out a punishment boy did they deliver. I can’t wait for the next book. If you guys haven’t started this series do so now you won’t be disappointed.
