A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

Lynn Michaels has written a fun sports/spy romance set in a foreign locale that is full of action and intrigue. While it took me some time to wrap my brain around the idea of Steve and Kyle as a potential couple, mainly due to the fact that they were such different personalities, once I did, the story moved swiftly and I found some of the parts were very well done. For instance, what actually happens to Kyle was well-crafted and had me on the edge of my seat. That particular plot point was fairly well developed and had a good arc and resolution. I appreciated that Kyle had residual effects to deal with afterwards, but I wasn’t so happy with how they pretty much disappeared once Kyle returned home. I felt that perhaps a bit of therapy may have been in order considering how often his reactions to certain things were alluded to in the story.

A solid 3 stars

This was a bit of a miss for me. The premise sounded excellent but the execution wasn't quite there. I liked the idea of a CIA agent with a motorcross racer, but I was never sold on Steve and Kyle as a couple. There's definitely some insta-lust right from the beginning-which is fine! However, I didn't feel as though they ever bonded emotionally enough for me to see them as a couple.

The kidnapping plot happened way too soon in my opinion, and left me wondering again how these two guys could practically be in love with one another so soon. Most of the bonding they do for their relationship must happen off page since the beginning of their time together is mostly spent apart, with Steve doing CIA work and Kyle touring/competing. Kyle's kidnapping would've been more engaging and emotional if I actually cared about him, but at such an early point I didn't.

This book has a fun storyline but suffers a bit from too much telling and not enough showing. I also felt like I was missing info from another series when Delta Force showed up and the characters understood the significance while I didn't.

Overall a light read with a fine story.

Rescuing Kyle is the first book in the Special Forces: Operation Alpha series by author Lynn Michaels. I really had a hard time connecting with this story. I really did not feel the heat between these characters. I am a huge fan of Ms. Michaels and was disappointed I could not connect to this book.
Kyle is a motor cross rider. He is in Europe. He is a person who loves life and is not interested in really settling down.
Steve, he reads spy novels. Takes pictures at the motor cross. All around good guy.
The idea of this story is they have instant chemistry and connect. Also, Kyle has a best friend who is like his brother that he looks just like. I just did not feel the chemistry between Steve and Kyle. And for me that was the deal breaker to this book. There are some great ideas, and funny moments, but for me a love story is all about me connecting to the characters. Because I could not in this story it is a miss for me.
I will however be looking for more from this author in the future, normally I am a huge fangirl so for me this was just a miss.

Action, romance, motocross, spies, special operations combine to make an awesome story!  This is the way to start a series, bold story-line, amazing characters, both the MC's and the wonderful supporting characters.  I loved the flow of the story and the plot had me hooked from the first pages.  I enjoyed the character development that left me wanting so much more for all the characters.  I had lots of good development on the MC's but was left really wanting on the supporting characters that i am hoping will get their own stories as the series continues.

Kyle and Steve are steamy, sweet, caring and will make you feel their connection.  I loved how the respected each other and how their relationship grew and so did their communication.  They really acted like adult men and i loved that.  I so enjoyed the last chapter and cannot wait for more!

This is book one of the Special Forces: Operation Alpha series and i am so excited for the next book.  This series is going to be awesome!

I  was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

Motorcross, CIA agents, secret covert military teams, and action-packed rescue operations... there isn't much to not like in this contemporary M/M romance. Probably the only bit lacking was that the insta-love at the beginning felt a little off. I think this was mostly due to the fact that yes, while the instant connection between Kyle and Steve was evident, I felt I missed the establishment of it. The emotional intimacy level just sort of elevated a fraction too quickly for their level of interaction.

But these two were incredibly hot together, and really very sweet and caring. Steve certainly proved this (and his glorious protectiveness) when he was faced with losing Kyle so early into their relationship. I also really liked the drawn-out uncertainty they had over whether they could be together long-term, and the pining they do trying to figure out a solution to their separate lives is well worth sticking with them to the end!

Who doesn’t love a story about finding love when you least expect it? Throw in hot CIA agents, dirt bikes, a rescue mission, along with some steamy action, and I found myself little intrigued. I liked Steve and Kyle together. Things progress fairly quickly, but life works that way sometimes. Since life has a different time table for everyone, this didn’t bother me at all. The book itself wasn’t rushed. I enjoyed the way the story progressed. Lynn Michaels is a new, to me, author, and I like how she puts pen to paper. I really enjoyed the little things she worked in, such as the motorcycle with the dinosaur glued on it. When Steve played with it I couldn’t help but chuckle. It was endearing. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

OMG!!! CIA AND MOTOCROSS!! YOWZA

This to me has it ALL. There's Steve who is a CIA Operative, in Germany. You have this Special Forces Team for back up. Sorry, I'm a special forces addict. Then there is Kyle, a Motocross racer. Doing well on the European Motocross Tour. Do you enjoy HOT, HOT and HOT?? I enjoyed it very much. LYNN MICHAELS had me at Special Forces and Motocross. Lynn Michaels creative writing puts you on the back of a motorcycle, in a Motocross race. I love her writing style on this subject, you can feel every high jump. Every emotion involved. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!

Fun read

Rescuing Kyle was a fun book, it was a little slow in the beginning but built to a spectacular end. Kyle Blyss is a motor cross raver working the circuit in Europe. Steve works for the CIA in Europe as well. They meet after being introduced by Kyle’s cousin Warren. Steve and Kyle begin seeing each other and soon love blooms. Pressure from opposing work schedules , Kyle’s training and a kidnapping put a strain on their relationship but the guys prevail. The characters are great and as I said while the storyline line starts slow in ends really great with it being open enough to add more characters for the series.

Kyle was a motocross racer traveling the European circuit. He meets up with his look alike cousin and his friends. There he meets Steve a CIA agent. Instant attraction and chemistry. They get together but circumstances out of their control Kyle gets kidnapped by terrorist thinking he’s his cousin. Steve and Delta Force rescue him. They need to learn to navigate on how to be together. It was a good story line. Lots of action, steam and low angst. I’ll definitely be looking for more in this series…

Kyle rides in the motocross circuit. He’s successful and doesn’t think he would want to ever do anything else. Steve Is in the CIA. Unfortunately not as exciting as it sounds. He’s works with a task force on counter terrorism. When they meet the mutual attraction explodes between them. Testing their resolve as to what their futures will be.

Good book, good characters, there not a lot of background but I don’t think it was really needed. A bit of spy type business mixed in with these guys chemistry made for a hot, good story. I liked it.

I received an arc of this book.

Rev that motor!

Kyle is a hotshot motocross competitor who looks enough like his Spec Ops cousin to be his twin. This leads to a mistaken kidnapping by a terrorist group. His boyfriend, Steve, his cousin and a special group of men work together to rescue him. If only working out his love life didn’t make his rescue look easy. I really liked Kyle and Steve. It was refreshing reading about adults who act like adults. This is a great story and a fun entry into Susan Stoker’s world. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Motocross, action, suspense, and spies all combined into making this a great book.
Kyle and Steve meet, hitting it off immediately with sizzling chemistry and then Kyle finds himself in trouble.
As Steve and his team race to rescue Kyle, he finds himself reevaluating his life and exactly what he wants from Kyle because suddenly he wants it all.
Now all they have to do is figure out how to make that work, which they do for an absolutely well deserved.HEA.

This was one fantastic, fast paced, action packed, amazing, grab-you-by-the-feels, intense, raw, gritty, wild, smoking hot, exciting, fascinating, emotionally charged, and totally awesome thriller. Filled with mystery, suspense, danger, and more twists and turns than a roller coaster, it had me hooked from beginning to end. I ended up with a massive book hangover because I just could NOT put it down. I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this marvelous book immediately!!!

This story draws you in from the beginning with all the high actions. What is not to love of a super Motor cross hero and then one night meets that mystery man Steve. The twist and turn that comes from a mistake identity. When Kyle is mistaken for his cousin. The characters draw you into the story with their strong and steamy connections. Highly recommend this book today

This book mixed the world of motocross and espionage together into a book that kept my attention. The author is really good at writing interesting characters with their own distinct personalities and at putting couples together that might not look like they fit together in the beginning of the book but seem to be perfect for each other by the end. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Worth It

“Nothing having is going to be easy. Working hard is what makes it worth it.” Life definitely isn’t easy for Kyle or for Steve in this book but it is full of adventure and excitement but as we learn sometimes a quieter life is better. I enjoyed meeting Steve and Kyle and watching them find their way to happiness and love. I am curious about some of the side characters and hope that we will see them again in the future. A fun read that had me racing to the end.

This story is a contemporary m/m romance with a taste of CIA suspense and Motocross sports theme. Theres drama, suspense, action and steam. The characters are interesting and great. Fantastic story.

I read and voluntarily reviewed an arc of this story. Rescuing Kyle was a really great book. I usually don’t read a lot of sports stories but this one just grabbed my attention. You have action, drama, a rescue mission, a bike which I can totally see them riding while having sex on, and all the other hot chemistry and sex. Just yum!!!

Kyle and Steve

This romance between Kyle and Steve was short but packed with action. I loved seeing some of the guys from Delta Force and how they helped the JTech team in rescuing Kyle from a mixup. The idea of other authors writing in an already established world is brilliant and I love to see it through these awesome series.
