"When you love someone, you love them for who they are, not for who they could become or who you think they should be. You love them and their faults."

A fast-paced, unique, outrageous, hilarious and romantic story. An awesome glimpse inside the intriguing lifestyle of racing, Nascar, drivers and their crews, as the they travel all over America, breaking speed limits, living on the edge and falling in love...

If you are turned off of anything mechanical, this story isn't for you. Crankshafts, engines and ignition switches are foreplay and sex is in, out and around cars and pit stalls...

OMG I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!!

But aside the racing, this a story of first love and heartbreak, things hard to admit, family and two twenty something kids forced to act the mature adults they certainly aren't...

Sway Reins

"The first time I saw Jameson Riley, I was eleven years old, the summer of 1992."

Eleven years later Sway is irrevocably in love with Jameson. They grew up together, they reached the top together. She fought her feelings and herself. She watched from afar and she tried to get away. She knows that he will break her heart, but once her dying mother told her, to never NOT do something she wanted. She is coming after Jameson and if it is just sex, so be it....

What a refreshing kind of heroine... Opinionated, brave, funny and determined you can't help but root for her.

Jameson Riley

“So you love me too?” “More than you can ever imagine,” my head slumped at my admission. “It’s the pathetic pretend to like the same flavor of ice cream or music, type of love. Break your heart type love.”

description

Arrogant, sexy, angry, propably psychotic and completely in love with Sway, Jameson Riley is Nascar's Golden Boy. Following the family tradition and having grown up in a car, he has no choice but be the best in everything and win in his rookie year. Struggling to come to terms with his fame, surpass his legendary father and make his own road. He has to deal with fans, reporters, exes, murderous co-competitors and convincing Sway that he isn't what she needs. But he hasn't fully grasped, that she is his lucky charm and his wildest dreams.

An amazing secondary cast of completely crazy, insane and in need of serious medication characters, adds flavor, depth and impossibly even more awesomeness in this fantastic book.

5 STARS

Ok I have promised a review for 5days now. But I had to read the 2nd book ;) It ended with a cliffhanger luckily the 2nd book was out…. So I jumped in right away.

I loved loved loved this book. It was freaking amazing.

Sex-o-meter – (Haha, love my new word) – 5 FREAKING STARS. Good grief the s*x in this book was off the charts. Haha. This too went on like freaking animals. Breaking stuff / destroying rooms / kitchens etc etc.

Story - Powerful, I loved it.

This story is about Jameson (a Nascar) driver and Sway his best friend for 11 years. They met when they when they were 11years old.

This story is about “cars” and “racing”. I feel in some or other way you have to like cars, you don’t have to know a lot but at least something. My hubby is a car fan, so I know a little about racing (formula one), but nothing about Nascar. But the Author really does explain it very good in the book.

The book took a bit longer to read because of all the car terms etc. But I feel like she did explain it very good.

Let me tell you this Riley family they are really ONE crazzzzzy family. They all are nutters. I actually felt sorry for Jimi and Nancy (Jameson’s parents). I don’t blame Jimi for wanting a DNA to make sure that was his kids haha.

James – had quiet a “temper” smashing and breaking stuff, getting fines etc etc.
Sway – OMG this woman can’t stop giggling. Sometimes I wanted to slap her. LOL.

Sway was the only one that could tame Jameson.

The car / hood s*x scene, holy cow, sticker burns and all that was HOT! And the kitchen scene was HOT HOT HOT.

OMG the hotel room / the tattoos the whole night was hilarious. The camping trip, god these kids are really crazy.

FAVOURITE QUOTES / LINES (I almost highlighted the whole book haha but will only put a few quotes / lines on here)

“The first time I heard Jameson say camshaft, I wanted to rip my clothes off and ride his camshaft cowgirl style.”

“Forget the porno audition. Apparently, I was now trying out for the opera”

“I just need a day. My ass hurts and my crankcase feels like I let the entire goddamn state of North Carolina align bore me.”
I’ve you haven’t read this series, I suggest you stop what you doing and start this series. This series is really amazing.

Over and out xxx

I freaking loved this book it was so good!

Will write a review tonight at home. Was finished in the middle of lunchtime and seeing that this book ended with a cliffhanger, I had to start the second book! ;)

ETA: Just seen that not only was this pulled to publish (which I like to know in advance), the author has been caught plagiarising from Twilight fanfiction
[Note that I'd already given the book one star anyway]

********************************************************

DNF at around 73%

Really poor spelling and grammar.

I often felt like I was reading a car manual, especially at the start of each chapter. All the car sex talk was incredibly annoying - yeah, do it for one or two scenes but not for the whole way through the book. The "crankshaft" and "crankcase" or whatever it was got old fast.

Plus, the fact that Sway was more worried about her boyfriend than her was just ridiculous. The constant giggling made her seem like a 13 year old not an adult which she was supposed to be.

And Jamieson was so spoilt - just because he could pay for the damage that suddenly meant that he was allowed to trash everything just because he had a temper tantrum. He needed to grow up.

I was very intrigued by the synopsis but I could not even finish it. Not only did I not like this book I feel deeply offended that I was charged money to read it.
" Happy Hour" is some of the worst writing I have ever encountered. The grammar and punctuation suck, some sentences don’t even make sense and even after reading them several times I still couldn't make any sense of them. Here is an example:
“I loved Emma like a sister but sometimes I wanted to kill her. Actually, most of the time I wanted to kill her. She had this ridiculous obsessive compulsive disorder that seemed to be heightened by her need to control other people and lather herself in lotion” What. The. Fuck?
There was one reference that I did not understand and that really bugged me “they fought more than Ali and Holyfield back in the day” correct me if I’m wrong but Ali and Holyfield boxed in 2 different eras and never had a boxing match. What the F is she referring to? If you charge people money to read your stories, please do your research or at least get somebody to proof read your stuff.
I honestly do not understand all the good reviews for this book. Books like this make independent Authors look bad.

This is not edited, beta-read or even spell checked. It is littered with typos and the grammar is horrible. When she describes the hero’s voice as sounding like “Christian Bail in those Batman movies”, it is just par for the course. And almost every time that the writer uses italic for emphasis, it's on a word that makes no sense at all.

Jameson is mostly reminiscent of Chris Brown. He has spent his whole life coddled by family, friends and fans, but is nonetheless aggressive, without impulse-control, and is constantly convinced that people are out to get him. At one point in the story he physically assaults an ex-girlfriend--but she's a stupid whore who's still hung up on him (wait, if it was in this book it was probably "stupid whore whose still hanged up by him") so it's totally okay and she was asking for it anyway.

In one way this story feels realistic: only someone as pathetic and with as low self-esteem as Sway would not only put up with, but be entranced by Jameson’s assoholic beavior. If this story was even remotely based on reality he would sooner or later start abusing Sway, and in true cycle-of-abuse-style she would probably keep taking him back. Obviously this isn’t that book, although it feels like it ought to be.

Something about racecar driving is really sexy to me, but for some reason most of the romance novels I’ve read in the admittedly very small genre have sucked. Flat-Out Sexy is the best one I’ve read so far and Chasing Daisy used to be the worst, but I think this one may have surpassed it.

This reads like fanfiction, but not like very well written fanfiction. If you have any standards at all when it comes to characterization, realistic relationship development or writing style, you should probably pass on this. I wish I had.

5+ I Loved This Book More Than Life Itself Stars!!!

I will start by saying that I'm not a huge racing fan, HOWEVER, that is not all that this book was about. Yes, this book 100% revolves around racing, but it has everything you could possibly hope for in a book as well. I'm so glad I took a chance on this series, because I would have been seriously depriving myself. As of right now I have read all the books in the series, and I plan to go back and write reviews on each book , because they DESERVE it!

Hands down this is the best series I have read this entire year.
I loved every aspect of it, every single character brought something so unique to the table. It was truly phenomenal! I can not tell you how many times I laughed out loud, maybe even peed a little bit, I was seriously dying with laughter with some of the things that went down in the book. This family is fucking crazy, and I loved every dysfunctional word of it. I cried with this messed up family when they were hurting and then turned around to stick my head in the freezer after some dirty heathen time too.

Each character in this book is different in their own right, and with that said I have no doubt in my mind that you will love each and every one of them. Even though they are all different in so many ways they are the same, they share one love, one passion, and above all they are a family, a family that is truly connected because of their love for racing, it's in their blood it's just who they are.

I was going to go more into detail about this book, but I have decided against that, as this book really should be experienced for one self.

I highly recommend this book, if you haven't read this book or series you are truly missing out! Please do NOT hesitate to take this amazing journey with the Riley's.

This is one of those books that I accidentally found. It had been out for awhile and suddenly I heard great things about it and thought okay why not. BOY AM I SO GLAD I TOOK THE CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!I didn't know anything about racing when I started to read it and to be honest never ever watched a NASCAR event! Hubby had to tell me we had the SPEED channel LOL!

Well I have to say I'm so darn happy I read this one. I loved it, adored it, couldn't get enough and learned some racing terms! Happy Hour is the first book in a five book Racing on The Edge series. This book lays the foundation for the other books and starts of with Sway graduating college. She's going to meet up with her best friend, Jameson Riley, NASCAR rookie driver known as Rowdy Riley! They've been best friends since they were 11 and Sway first saw Jameson racing sprint car's at her father, Charlie's, dirt track!

Jameson doesn't know that Sway is in love with him and has been. He doesn't know that she's determined to make him fall in love with her. Sway is hysterical and I LOVE her not a damn jealous bone in her body! She doesn't want to be a "Pit Lizard" hehehehe translates a NASCAR groupie :) She wants to be IT for Jameson!

When reading this one I laughed so hard throughout this book. Jameson's family is is support system. We have Spencer his older brother who is married to Alley and they have adorable little Lane then theirs Emma the youngest in the Riley clan who has a "thing" for Jameson's spotter Aiden.

Their is a rivalry between Jameson and fellow NASCAR racer Darrin and things really heat up between the two! There is no gentleman's agreement between these two! Add the drama of the rivalry into Jameson's family and to top it all off the agreement he makes with Sway for three weeks and your in for quite the ride folks a hysterical ride to be truthful, sexual ride with Sway's "Dirty Heathen" where it's all dirty car talk (freaking awesome and pure genius on Shey's part!

Now before I start to have fun with my review I have a few things that stood out in this book and I'm not listing anything in order

- Lucifer Twins
- Spencer (lol)
- Cougar's
- Fork Stabbing

just a few teasers to make you wonder what I'm talking about and just a small HYSTERICAL part of Happy Hour!

So I spent most of my time reading Happy Hour doing exactly this......

then I was...........................................

I have a HUGE crush on Jameson he is the HOT ROOKIE :) When the three week's is up and Sway has to return to help her father Charlie with the dirt track he owns/operates will that be the end of Jameson and her? Well you have to read it to see!

Happy Hour had parts where I was.......................

Happy Hour had a good mix of laughs, tears and edge of your seat what's going to happen next! Now the end of Happy Hour I was totally.........

which believe me I had to HAVE the next book in the series and I had to have it PRONTO and luckily at the time I read it all of them were out with the exception of the final book in the series, The Legend. If I had to wait I would've been doing this also...........

This was a 5 ++++ read for me! Just cause there is racing mentioned I think people assume that's what the books is about but NO this book is so much more! This is a book about a childhood friendship with the possibility of blossoming into so much more with memories inter-sped within, and new absolutely hysterical memories being made! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!! It is FREAKING AWESOME and you will not be disappointed! and if you know nothing about racing the best part is each chapter starts with a definition of whether it's track terms, car parts it's relative to that particular chapter and another genius idea Shey had!

So........................

THUMBS UP ALL THE FREAKING WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book. I’m not a NASCAR fan in any way, shape or form. The World of Outlaws is here several times a year and I’ve never once gone. I guess what I’m trying to say is racing’s not my thing.

Regardless of that I still ended up appreciating this book, mostly because of the humor and love between Sway and Jameson. The friends to lovers trope is my favorite and it worked its magic where Sway and Jameson are concerned. When the two do get together, they’re explosive. Ruin the interior of a motor coach in your enthusiasm kind of hot. I appreciated how Jameson and Sway integrated the racing lingo into their everyday conversations, which was an unexpected surprise as far as me enjoying it goes. It’s not too difficult to figure out what crankcase and camshaft mean when translated in anatomical terms and the fact that Sway got hot every time Jameson spoke car was…well, it was weird. But it worked for her.

"I just need a day. My ass hurts and my crankcase feels like I let the entire goddamn state of North Carolina align bore me.”

Did I just mention how I liked the car talk? That’s all true, sure. Until I hit about the 45% mark. It just became a little too much for me and I started getting distracted. Though I thought it was an entertaining and sometimes extremely sad story, something about this author’s style of writing didn’t click with me. I can’t say what it was or wasn’t, just that I never got fully engaged in this book. I certainly didn’t mind the time I spent reading it, but I don’t know if I’ll be moving forward with the series.

I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the story, the writing, the characters, the humor, the sex!! I loved how many times I laughed out loud, the way racing jargon was infused with not only the humor but the dirty talk and sex. I was engulfed in this book from page 1, hooked on it. All the characters had such distinct personalities and quirks and the writing did them all justice. The sibling rivalry but also the closeness of the Riley kids. Their humor and pranks were hilarious, genius writing. I mean a dick on the wall, tattoos and pudding!! The way racing was so easily infused and flowed throughout. I didn't feel overkill at all. I would suggest to everyone to read this. Jameson and Sway are such a great story and they are on my list of favorites. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series. Hell id read about them in 50 books.

This series was a recommendation from a friend of mine and when I saw that it revolved around the world of car racing I was all over it. I read Chasing Daisy that had a similar concept and I enjoyed it so much that I figured this one would be in the same ball park. Boy, was I wrong?
First of all, I disliked the heroine at first sight. Yes, she was indeed pathetic and I had no patience for it. Plus, the other characters that I managed to read about in my brief reading of Happy Hour also did not impress me. They sounded like a bunch of immature teenagers if you ask me and I had the feeling things would just deteriorate as the story progressed.
The whole sex talk using car racing terms was just silly and not amusing at all. I actually felt embarrassed for the MC that such idiotic thoughts would even cross her mind. And that probably got old pretty quick too.
I heard that it gets better in the second half, but at $5 a book, I'm not willing to pay to see it. It goes to the dump pile.

Who knew that racing could be so hot? This is probably going on to one of my all time favorites list! I LOVED IT!

Jameson Riley is a cocky, hot-headed, stubborn, possessive, HOT race car driver who is up for Nascar's Rookie of the year! Racing consumes him and it is the only thing he has time for. He doesn't do relationships outside of his family, except for his best friend Sway, who has been there for him since the beginning.

My Jameson:

Sway Reins has been in love with Jameson for as long as she can remember, but to stay in Jameson's life, she can't let him know, because he doesn't do relationships. After one drunken night, the two of them decide to try out "friends with benefits" which Sway knows will only lead to heart break for her, but she has to give it a try!

Can Sway convince Jameson to give their love a chance?

This story has it all it is HOT, Romantic, and Hilarious! The characters are great! The dirty car talk is wonderful! I laughed so much at one time, I was actually in tears! I highly recommend this book! I am off to read the second one now! It almost makes me want to watch a NASCAR race.

*Small warning - Cliff Hanger Ending, but the whole series is out so it will be okay!

I'm pretty sure everyone knows by now that I crush on rock stars, and I really crush on rock stars in books, but I never expected to fall in love with a racer. I have been known to annually attend the Daytona 500 several years ago, but I never really cared that much about racing. I'm not glued to the t.v. on Sundays watching NASCAR, even though my Southern heritage dictates that I should be. When Sherry, my facebook buddy, told me about this series a few weeks ago, she was so excited about it, but I thought...racing? Really? Well, I am so glad I took your word for it, Sherry! I loved this book, and now I definitely have to make time to read the rest in the series!

Jameson is my new book boyfriend...well, I'm kind of two-timing right now with my previous book boyfriend but hey, they won't tell. ;) It didn't take long for me to read this book, because once I started it, I couldn't get out of it. Now, I don't mean I didn't put it down. I did, but that's because I had multiple giveaways happening that needed tending, and I've been suffering from the flu. What I do mean is I couldn't get the characters out of my head. I originally had thought 4 stars on this one, but when the characters and story stuck with me like these did, I decided it definitely deserved to be bumped up a notch. With that said....

HOLY MOTHER OF ANGSTY CLIFFHANGERS! Shey Stahl, what were you thinking?! This book has me completely torn up! I love love love the characters...each one of them. Sway is hilarious and really likable. Her inner monologues and banter really kept me entertained and her crushing on Jameson is perfection. She has known Jameson since she was eleven years old, and she's loved him almost as long. This girl knows everything of racing and the pits, and she loves it, but she goes off to college and gets away from the racing circuit for a while for personal reasons. Enter Jameson.

Jameson is one hunky, sexy, arrogant, moody, temperamental, cranky, toddler in an adult body who is in dire need of anger management 101. He throws hissy fits and temper tantrums like a two year old. What does Sway say about Jameson? "Jameson Riley was a gritty asshole, plain and simple." She is right. But Sway knows that funbag flashing can produce a calming effect on even the wildest and angriest of beasts. I think I'll stick with using the term, "mussafah," from the movie Anger Management. The biggest problem with Jameson is that he lets his fists do the talking for him....no matter where he is or who is witness, but that's not all there is to Jameson. He's like a lovable man-child and I just want to love all over him, because deep down inside, he has feelings. He is so swoon worthy. He is really just a big goofball that can charm the pants off a frigid witch, but he is confident, sweet, he loves, and he's ... well, he's a hubba hubba is what he is. Of course, he does have one problem. He tends to get tongue tied sometimes and slaps himself around in his head because what comes from his mouth is usually the most wrong thing he can say in the most intense moment. Jameson worked his way up in the racing circuit to fame in NASCAR, and Sway is there every step of the way to support and love him, and he knows this...another redeeming quality making him swoon worthy.

Both the heroine and hero have their own trials to go through, but they've always been there for each other. First as best friends, later growing into a little flirtatious banter, and then developing into full out love. I won't touch on the secondary characters, but they are all just as great as the hero and heroine. All are supporting and lend a significance to the character building of the hero and heroine. Aside from the story of Sway and Jameson, Shey Stahl gives us quite the treat of the true racing experience. Her racing descriptions are accurate and real, making me believe I'm back in Daytona in February once again. Her chapter precursors are so in tune with the events and characters of the chapters they parallel. Her heart stopping ending had me reeling on edge, and I still haven't come down from the adrenaline rush. Actually, Shey Stahl pumped my adrenaline throughout the whole book. But, when all is said and done, there is a sense of family, of togetherness among long time friends in this book. I give my stamp of approval and recommend this book for those who love a funny, feel-good, home-spun read with enough angst and excitement to make me continue the series.

I found this book after reading reviews of Sheys books, and I'm so glad I did, I really loved this book, have to say some of the NASCAR talk lost me but overall you can get past it. I thought it had everything I love in a book passion, angst and a great love story. I shall definitely be going on to read the rest of the series.

“The difference here was I wasn’t interested in just a one-time bearing assessment. I was looking for forever. We deserved forever.”

4.5 Stars!
Between the dirty car talk, Jameson’s tantrums, and the craziness of the Riley family, I fell in love with this book. There were so many times I found myself laughing at all their antics. But with all that comes a sweet friends-to-lovers story with all the action of NASCAR racing thrown in. This is a story of one girl finally going for what she wants and showing the man she loves he can have it all.

Sway Reins, daughter of a northwest racetrack owner has been in love with her best friend for years. The only problem, he doesn’t know it. She has been with him through it all, seen his rise to fame, and knows the real side of him. The past few years as ‘just-friends’ has been torture for Sway, so one night out celebrating a victory she decides to finally go for it.

Jameson Riley has only ever dreamed of being a racecar driver. His father is an accomplished racer and it’s in his bloods. Now he’s finally made it to the top and is a contender for NASCAR’s rookie of the year. But in order to have his dream, he’s had to make sacrifices, especially when it comes to love. But after getting a taste of Sway, he knows that once won’t be enough.

Soon lust turns to love as Jameson and Sway continue on a passionate journey. But with Jameson’s rising career and Sways obligations back home, is love enough to keep them together?

“For me, this was bone deep and would never change. With the way I was drawn to Jameson, both frightening and exciting, this couldn’t be just a taste.”

This book had the perfect combination of funny, serious, and hot. The story was so real and instantly pulled me in. During the race scenes, I was biting my nails anxious to see how Jameson would do. And I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in a book. The sex was seriously hot (thought not very graphic) and they literally did it everywhere. In a bed, on a car, in a car, in the closet, anywhere was fair game for Jameson and Sway.

Can I just say, Sway is one of my all time favorite females. She’s strong, funny, sarcastic, slightly crazy, says whatever she wants, and has a huge heart. Her thoughts ranged from serious, to in love, to somethings no one else would think. She went from being a pit lizard to pigizzle and loves dirty car talk. And through it all, she was there for Jameson no matter what.

Jameson is just as crazy as Sway, handsome, a total hothead, an amazing driver, and deep down such a sweet guy. Even before they were officially together I could see how much he cared for Sway. He was absolutely insatiable and was seducing Sway (not that it took much) all the time. I loved his little tantrums and how he knew he was like a 2 year old in a 22 year olds body.

“I’m not what you need, but I’m too goddamn selfish to let you go again.”

His family was downright ridiculous and there were so many drunken nights when they got into trouble. The best was in the hotel room after one night of drinking. I could not stop laughing.

“I really hope you two get married someday since you can’t stop humping in my house and branding yourself with each other’s names.”

I loved the relationship between Jameson and Sway. While they did start of as friends-with-benefits, I could see how much both of them cared for each other. They had always been there for each other throughout their lives and have such a strong connection.

“It’s the pathetic pretend to like the same flavor ice cream or music, type of love. Break your heart type of love.”

This book was so entertaining and warmed my heart at the same time. There was also a little bit of a sinister side plot that made me really nervous. Being in the NASCAR world was so interesting and while I’m not really a fan I found myself really enjoying the scenes at the racetrack. It’s such a high-powered, fast paced world that they live in and I wouldn’t have wanted off the ride for one second.

The ending is a slight cliffhanger but don’t worry, the next book is already out. I honestly did not see that ending coming. I already knew what was going to happen with Jameson and Sway but those last few chapters I was just like ‘what just happened?!’

One thing I love about Shey Stahls writing and storytelling is that she didn’t use racing as just a backdrop. It was very much an integral part of the story and I felt totally immersed in the racecar world. I read this after Everything Changes and realized she did this in that book as well. This makes her stories so much more interesting because I’m not just watching two people fall in love but learning things about a sport I never looked at before.

This was such a sweet love story accompanied by fast cars, secret plots, and loads and loads of siblings fighting, payback, and temper tantrums. I’m definitely going to read the next one because I need to know what happens with Jameson and Sway and I really want to see more of the Riley family.

4 Happy Hour stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed it. I liked it. I laughed along with it. What more could I say, the storyline, the characters are all amazing definitely well written to a point that I felt like some of the characters were just a little too over the top at times and this is why I gave it 4 stars. I liked Sway and Jameson, I liked how they grew into their feelings, not straight insta love but it was a build up of knowing their feelings and it was time to act on it, to making sure if it was genuine on both parts. Sway and Jameson sure were so easy and fun to read that I cannot believe I laughed more from this book.

***MAYBE SOME SPOILERS

WOW! I LOVED this book!!I picked this book up and the others in this Racing on the Edge series from a recommendation and they were on sale for .99 cents! SO worth it. Got myself a nice little surprisingly great read right here..

This is the story of Jameson and Sway. They are childhood BFF's and they fall in love. Jameson is sooooo freaking HOT and SEXY!!! OMG..he's a race car driver! But not only that I just loved his swag, the way he talked, his hot temper, his possessiveness and his heart for Sway.

Sway has been his best friend by his side through his rise in race car driving. Sway is one of my most favorite heroines. She was strong, witty and didn't take no crap, even off of Jameson. She was also funny as hell! Her and Jameson and their banter was sooo hilarious and cute!

The book progresses as Sway tells from her POV how in love she is with Jameson. Jameson was somewhat of a bag 'em and leave 'em type. He really was all about his racing and didn't make time for relationships. Sway knows it is almost a losing battle but she is determined to get Jameson and finally let him know about her true feelings..

She decides to go on tour with him while he is racing from city to city. She plans to win him over. Little does she know she won't have to do much...They finally have sex but Jameson declares it to be a more of a friends with benefits thing. Sway goes along with the idea. Even though she knows she wants more. They have some OTT steamy, hot sex sessions. Oh man I was fanning myself this stuff was soo good!! Loved them together....*sigh*

The book continues with the development of their relationship. Sway comes to find out Jameson does indeed love her but he is scared of what that means, since he doesn't think that he can be the man she needs. But he is ALL MAN and proves that in more ways then one in this book.

The book had a fair amount of drama/suspense with Jameson battling with a fellow race car driver trying to bring him down. Sway also has some heavy issues to deal with her father. They both are their for each other and it is beautiful to see the love between these two.

Overall this book was great!! I loved every minute..I love the chemistry and friendship/relationship between Sway and Jameson. The other secondary characters in the book were also great. I really feel this author pulled me into the story and I felt like I was living it with these characters. This was very well written and developed.

The only small negative I can say was the amount of racecar talk. I know nothing (or should I say knew) about race car driving. The author gives a very thorough decription of all aspects of race car driving. Sometimes I felt overwhelmed with that but overall it was fine. It was cute how Sway and Jameson used car talk as foreplay and in their sex sessions!!

Loved this book and would most definitely recommend. Great amount of angst, drama/suspense, humor, A LOT of steamy sex, and a HEA. Perfect ingredients for an A++ read!

Where there is love there is life. ~Gandhi

Oh my dear lord. How do I express my LOVE of this book??

So, some background to understand why I'm having a hard time here....I'm an avid NASCAR Fan. You'd think that would make this an easy sell (which it was), and a total no brainer...but it is NOT!

There's so much more to this book than just a great love story in a NASCAR setting!!

This. Book. Is. HISTERICAL! This book taught me car terminology! This book intertwines real life setting with a fictional storyline. This book touches on love, death, childhood memories and lessons, longing, revenge, heartache...and this author has taken "Nascar Speak" to a whole new level!

First the characters.
JAMESON. The rookie driver, HOT bad boy, hair pin trigger temper, anger management issues, temper tantrum thrower, dirty-car-talking lover. *SWOON* ...think a FABULOUS combination of Dale Jr & Kasey Kahne (for all you Nascar lovers out there!)
SWAY. The childhood best friend, witty, HISTERICAL, beautiful, strong, fat cat lover, wanna be pit lizard, loves some dirty-car-talk.
EMMA, ALLEY, AIDEN, SPENSER, CHARLIE, and all the other supporting cast........hearty, loving, witty, strong, frustrating, HISTERICAL!!

The Run down:
Sway and Jameson have been best friends since they first laid eyes on eachother. Jameson is an awesome race car driver with a dream. Sway has never done anything besides stand by him and support him in his drive to attain this dream. BUT...now that they're in their 20's...he's finally on the NASCAR circuit and she's graduated from college...could there be MORE??

"I had other plans. My plan exactly, convincing Jameson he loved me too and letting his camshaft meet my crankcase and test out my bearing alignment." ~Sway

Oh that is correct!!! The dirty car talk...there are hardly words to explain how HOT car/driver speak can really be! I am head over crankcase in love!!

Read this series! You don't even have to be a car or NASCAR enthusiast...believe me! It was an education. It had me in stitches...I wanna be a part of this group!!

And HOW FREAKIN' EXCITED AM I THAT THERE ARE 4 MORE BOOKS TO GO???????!!!!!!!

I was excited to get on with this series since the blurb was really interesting, but lo and behold I should have just stopped with the blurb.

This was an annoying read, I tried but I really can't finish.

The protagonist was really something, from the first page she was complaining and whining. She was also very violent and cocky. She was just plain rude.

Then there was this:

"I distracted myself for a moment thinking of Jameson getting to know his way around my internal combustion engine and more importantly, my crankcase. And if you don’t know what a crankcase is, it’s a metal casing in the engine that houses the camshaft, crankshaft, and a few other parts in reciprocating engine. This is why I called my vagina a crankcase. It made perfect sense to me.

After all, I wouldn’t mind housing Jameson’s camshaft. And the camshaft, well, it’s a long shaft inserted into the crankcase that rotates. Naturally, I would refer to this as a penis."

I wanted to bang my head on the wall after reading that! I was rolling my eyes out to fucking oblivion!

Then another:

"Jameson was completely naked as well, on top of me, between my legs with his camshaft pressing against my crankcase."

"It was just so unbelievable...really, it was. Here I was lying underneath my best friend, his camshaft inserted in my crankcase with three other people in the room."

"I brought my knees up to my chest and curled into myself, comforting my crankcase and wondering how she hadn’t exploded yet."

Holy Fuck! I can feel my brain cells dying a slow agonizing death while reading this, this, this...*sigh*.

I'll just save my self and stop and delete this from my reader.

this heroine will go to first place!! the kind of breaks the balls place.
kind of annoying place
kind of pathetic place.

You know what really start me going mad and annoyed is this insecure kind of girl who is madly in love for the guy who is famous and to make things worse is that ask :Why me when you have women throwing themselves on your feet? ?

this is getting old. ..when is a rockstar or an actor or a fighter...now is a racer!
is it so difficoult to built character that is not so short or plain or insecure? ? i mean this can happen to teens but come on!! after reading so much and all kind of stuff when I see a female like this it makes me want to puke.
and you know what is the most unreal thing? is that a guy so hot fell in love with a nonsense like this.
I think we should start to create a new kind of fiction something between sci fi, distopia, romance and comedy.
Now I ask how is it possible that one female ruin an entire will to read a book? ?
please I need to work my patiance more. ..that's it.
I am so tired of insecure characters...it seems that all of us women are like this. Gee...

There are so many things I love about not just this book, but this entire series. First I love the fact that I am a 0% percent NASCAR fan. I have absolutely no interest in the sport, yet this book engrossed you in and makes you forget that. That is impressive to me when an author can capture your interest & heart when you loath the premise. Sway & Jameson are one of the sweetest and most endearing literary couples I have ever read. (I read a LOT!). So this really says something. This story is LAUGH OUT LOUD-SPIT-COKE-THROUGH-YOUR-NOSE-PEE-YOUR-PANTS-FUNNY! I had to read several parts out loud to my husband because I was laughing so hard he had to hear it. He in turn recapped the humor to several of his friends and had them cracking up. You fall in love with each & every character and the laughs you will get are priceless. I truly LOVE this series & highly recommend it!

Yep! Love it just as much the second time.

5 fabulous stars *****

I loved this book, the characters grabbed me from the start. I laughed my ass off with the antics this crew got up to. Sways references to engin parts were hilarious along with most things that came out of her crazy mouth. It's refreshing to read about twenty two year olds actually behaving like tenty two years olds. We read so many books that the maturity level of the main characters are above and beyond their years, Happy Hour does a great job of portraying the youth and carefree attitudes of this crazy bunch, but shows that when needed they can be counted on.

Sway is a great heroine with all of her internal banter and quirky references, and Jameson was hot and endearing and far from perfect with his over the top anger issues. I know nothing about racing but after reading this would definately, given the chance, go to see a race at least once!!!

Ends on a cliff hanger and am glad to say the second book is sitting there begging to be read ;D
