I have read this book twice now in the last month. I have read several diet books and learned from them, but I have always had trouble keeping them pertinent to my eating. I am too stubborn to eat only the author's way. When I was first pregnant, my doctor gave me a diet on one sheet of paper. It was simple. Foods and drinks to eat frequently and those to eat sparingly. I followed that list religiously, but disregarded it once the baby was born. This is the closest I have come to finding an everyday eating guide that is practical, easy to follow, and makes complete sense to me. I am already incorporating it into my daily life. There is a large portion of the book that goes into the science of obesity. For now I am paying attention to the applied science of weight loss and behavior modification. I am glad to have this book.
This is kind of badly written. Like, the grammar. I mean, my grammar is trash, but I'm not charging anyone any money for a kindle book. Also, it's super dry, and every chapter just ends with the only answer to being fat is to get weight loss surgery - which he actually points out in the book doesn't even work all the time. Congrats on your lifes work not actually working my dude, I hope you feel super fulfilled about that.
But because of this book I think I've realised my problem is that I've got an undiagnosed binge eating disorder. I've figured this out because this book triggered me into one of the worst binges I've had in a while and my mental health has taken an absolute nose dive. So thanks, I hate it.
This is one book every overweight person needs to read. Doctor now is such a compassionate person. His staff recommended this book and I'm glad they did. It's my weight loss bible
Much respect to Dr. Nowzaradan and all he does for the betterment of mankind. Whether you’re 600 or 90 lbs, this book explains a lot that’s beneficial to us all.
This is a excellent book. It helped me to understand why I over eat and what I can do about it. Part the book was technical and part was not. A good mix of why and how to change. Worth the money.
If you need some guidance on how to lose weight doing a lower calorie, high protein low carb diet this little book is for you. Straight forward no nonsense advice from our beloved Dr. NOW
The book was self published by Dr. Now and is full of typos. It’s basically all his opinions with no science quoted to back anything up. It was not what I expected.
I wondered if Dr. Now was different in a book than on his show. Nope he's the same. I've always liked him. I was sad to find out that the only thing I thought I ate that I thought was healthy is oatmeal every single day. No milk. To find out he says no to oatmeal. And I was so proud of myself for having that one healthy meal every single day. Apparently, it's a no no.
I knew peanut butter would be a no also, but I'm absolutely addicted to peanut butter. What to do What to do. I mean I'm not like his patients, but I could lose a few pounds. Ok 20 pounds or so. Ok maybe 30. But Id be happy with 20 pounds.
I don't know what life will be like w/o peanut butter my friend. I didn't need the bread just a spoon. And now me the enabler (me) must find a way to quit my favorite addiction of all time.
Im sorry, but when I read the «meal prep» i felt offended. It is so full of errors that you fell slapped in the face because you just use 25$ on something a person with dementia have written. Out of the 10 recipes, 8 of them are just eggs/omelets and in the ingrediens list for the recipes he wrote the same things muliple times (example: something omelet: two eggs, something, two eggs, something. BRO «Add dash or black pepper or other species» he really just wrote this one night and just published for us dumbasses to pay for 👍🏻 IM PISSED
This book probably wasn’t worth $30CAD on kindle but here I am having spent it because I watched every episode of the TLC show and was curious. I thought there’d be more to the book I guess? Also the whole anti-evolution thing seemed super weird to me but I didn’t see any other reviews mentioning it so maybe it’s a me thing lol. I was kind of hoping there’d be more meals and such. Having lost 200lbs myself and being stalled for eons (like a year) I just was hoping there’d be something here I could use. Maybe I should try a 1,200 calorie diet haha
This book provided much information about weight loss that is new to me. Although not morbidly obese, I am overweight and have been for most if my kife. Now I understand why I have failed to attain long term weight loss success and feel better prepared to try again. Highly recommend this book.
This is an excellent book full of the information to make the right choices about weightlose. Very up lifting and positive in the day to day living with a new life.
