Hope has never forgiven Charles for the pain he caused her when he married someone else, but when he shows up in her life, separated and contrite, she is tempted to accept his apologies.
But then there's Daniel, who is handsome, successful and sexy, with a smile that lights up her insides. He's the perfect man, as long as she's prepared to let go of her feelings for Charles.
With her heart on the line, will Hope choose the past, or allow herself to fall for someone new?
Somi loves to read. She is a sucker for romance and can usually be found sighing over the exquisite love stories she consumes regularly.
In 2012, she started publishing the story that became Always Yours, as a blog serial at www.lagosromanceseries.com. It was later published as a novel. Her other books include Hidden Currents, the standalone sequel to Always Yours, as well as a short story, Jungle Justice.
She lives in Lagos, sometimes, and Houston at other times. When she’s not writing or reading, she’s either chasing her toddler around, mourning Daenerys Targaryen, or consoling herself with other TV shows and movies.
I enjoyed this book! I loved the chemistry between Hope and Daniel. It was so sweet that i found myself blushing a few times. Well written and romantic. There were times I wanted to give Hope a good shake for being stuck in the past with her philandering ex when she had a gorgeous man interested in her. In fact, the only thing that took away from this book was that there was too much emphasis on her and her ex in the beginning. I wanted to dive into the romance with Daniel but that dragged on for a bit. If you enjoy romance set in Africa, this book is for you. I recommend 👍🏾
I spent most of this book oscillating between frustration and exasperation at Hope, especially and rolling my eyes at all the sappiness. But as I have said in the past, it’s a good thing if an author can make you feel so connected to or concerned about characters in their book that you react emotionally. Of course, we all know that one person in an abusive relationship who, regardless of what everyone says, remains in the relationship. Perhaps, we are or have even been that person at some point! A lovely sweet read. I’ve read all the books from this author and enjoyed every single one. Daniel is the Alpha male every lady dreams off. Hope’s indecision was abit tiring but she got there in the end, lol
Sometimes romance novels can be a bit cheesy. This is not the case here! This was exciting, captivating and kept me on edge with surprise in every turn of the pages.
I have now read all of Somi’s books and can’t wait for the next.
