Longing for a Homeland: Discovering the Place You Belong

Rate this book
Home. It is the place we all long to be, yet in today's fragmented society, the concept of home is elusive for many people.

In his new book, Longing for a Homeland , Lynn Anderson traces the wanderings and homesickness of the human race and the irresistible urge to find a place called "home." It is the story of a journey toward fulfillment -- a search to fill the God-shaped hole inside -- that ends only when we discover that home is not a building, a geographical location, or a people -- it is the love, security, and rest that can only be found in the presence of God.

Join Anderson on the journey of a lifetime -- a journey to the very heart of God -- and experience the peace and joy that can found there. Come home -- your life will never be the same.

A stark, powerful reminder that any earthy home is only temporary and never fully satisfies the longing we have inside for our true home. Through moving stories of the author’s and other’s experiences of returning to childhood homes, Native Americans driven from their homes, European ancestors looking for new homes, Moses’ leading his people back to their home, the author explores this longing and lack of fulfillment. I personally found the first parts about home not being places, people or personas to be more powerful, especially the stories, than the last parts on what our true home is, though that is the crux--that there is a home that is permanent, a Presence we can experience and enjoy now and forever. Though we may wander far and wide, we can always return to and be received with loving open arms.
