DNF - quit at 8%
Other readers might enjoy this, it just wasn’t for me...starting a book with a prologue about a fox (an animal, not a shape shifter as far as I could tell) escaping a zombie, which made no sense towards the story. The starting of chapter one had no time reference where the prologue had one was confusing. Then the main character’s name, Sarah Jennifer, using both names, was driving me bonkers! I realize it was in the blurb, but I thought it was like an introduction or like when a mom yells at her kid using the full name, not a regular thing. The story didn’t pull me in. Nope, I’m out.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Great story

I loved this story and can't wait to continue on. I came upon this series by way of author notes at the conclusion of Promises Kept in the Kurtherian End games series. Yep I love this series and will continue reading.

Very well written, fast-paced, excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the characters especially Sarah Jennifer. She is not very headstrong or stubborn like other characters in books that LMBPN produces. She is willing to be humble enough to except the fact that there are things she does not know and she is willing to learn them. This humility in dares me to her, she reminds me of the matriarch when she started out she realize they were things she did not know and she was humble enough to learn them. The rest of the characters are solid core group. I will be looking forward to learning more about them and subsequent stories. As for the guests and the plot first of all the plot is well done the story is fast paced and moves along at a good clip. As for the guest stars I’m glad they showed up in the series it ties things together and I am glad that Sarah may get a upgrade or boost to her nanocytes. Strong beginning to a new series counting the days to the next book.

Another great new series from Nat and MA

I have tried all MA's series. And with only a very few exceptions read the entire series while eagerly waiting for the next book. In fact I can only think of 2 right now that I just couldn't get into enough to read the series, otherwise read all of them!! This will be a great one and am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next. Retirement is a wonderful thing, and the availability to read all these amazing books for free is beyond my wildest retirement dreams. Love all the associated authors too. Living in Homer Alaska past 4 years and going to spend next few years visiting rest of kids in lower 48. Please keep writing these wonderful jewels so I can keep reading and myself out of trouble. Open the border Canada, time for our next adventure! Please keep safe, u r all part of my family!

This is a great addition to the TKG collection, and a bit nostalgic. I've often wondered what became of the family and friends left behind, I know they were mentioned on different occasions throughout the collections but it was never really Their Story.
This journey for Sarah Jennifer looks promising as she begins to come into her own as a Walton and rejoins the living once again. Esme is a fun character and really great for Sarah Jennifer's development, as are Brutus and Sylvie, who I was happy to see rejoin the living as well. And I agree 100% Ted is awesome both in his antics who is on Earth and his adventures in Space with his A.I.'s and Felicity.
Can't wait to read more on this new series, keep up the good work and Thank you!

Very good

I really like it. I'm still confused about the KGU book order. I really do prefer to read in order. For me jumping mid stream I feel like I'm ruining the read. That and it bugs me especially with acronym that aren't explained and I've no clue. Like I'm missing a bunch of information and context. Let alone a whole series or more of books I didn't know about. The search for could have hyperlinks to the others or some way to let the reader know there are books many books out there. But when they are only under one authors name there are no connections. Any that's a beef I've had for a while. I very much the many books. If I could find more I'd read them. Reader help. Its an universe you know. And more than one. We can get lost

Awesome book!

Ok, I am on a mission to read every word of every book in the Kurtherian Gambit series world! I am on my way and it has been the best time ever spent reading in my life! This book is no exception! It's an awesome read! Good hearted woman doing everything she can do save the people she meets from alien technology that's gone a little nuts. This storyline is about bravery and putting yourself out there when you're not sure if you're ready. It's about caring about others even if you don't believe they care. It's about doing the right thing no matter how painful or heartbreaking. It's funny and made me laugh and really, really impatient for the next book! I want more, soon! Please!

Absolutely wonderful! A New Favorite!

Live the way this story has been told. It carries on the flavor I loved about the Terry Henry Walton series but also had its own unique feel. Sarah Jennifer has hound back with society much like her grandfather did after wondering alone for twenty years. Note she has not only taken on a pack but faces the beginning of the madness. I would recommend reading Sarah Jennifer's short story in the Kurtherian Fans Write For Fans Book1 . It provide a prequel to this book. Great book!! Looking forward to the next in the series, hoping the wait isn't to long!

What a start!!

I wondered what happened to SJ after Michael left her ranch and am thrilled to get to follow her on her journey. I am trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, so I will simply state I love the story of Cory and Ramses's daughter! As Cory is my favorite character of the TH Walton Chronicles, I am thrilled to find parts of her in Sarah Jennifer. SJ also has an awesome blend of her grandparents which makes her a trifecta of leadership, badassness, and empathy. The ending of the book had my jaw hitting the floor and I can't wait to see where her journey leads her!!

Long-awaited and Awesome

This is fabulous! Just as TH and Chat retire I am excited to find this beginning to Sarah Jennifer's story. I have waited on tenderhooks for her story after each brief glimpse into her journey we've had from other books. As always, N D Roberts brings a new part of the TKG world into our lives with freshness and wonderful plot and character development. Serious kudos to her and the supporting teams who made this new integration into my favorite universe nearly seamless.

Can't wait for the next!

Yay Ted & Felicity

Love the book, & back to TH style, in the back of my head always wondered why BA team didn't protect earth during zombie times when they did so much 4 so many universes hunting bad kurtherians. To protect earth/humanity when couple of ships & teams would do wonders( but spoil magic books)& Was wondering why Jim couldn't at least b tutored by Ted thru suitcase instead of Sylvie & bam nat ended book with my non book logic, love it when such a wonderful writer as ND Roberts does wonderful writing & common can sense lol

I loved this book. With Sarah Jennifer, I had a taste of the FDG, and TH, Sarah's Grandfather, which I love so much.

When you add in Weres in trouble, and the beginnings of the Zombie Madness, what more could I ask for?

I loved how Sarah managed to turn things around - with a lot of help from her witch friend, Esme, and the inhabitants of Salem - as she starts to train up the Weres who had been abandoned to their own devices.

I'm really looking forwards to reading book two of this series: Walk the Line, to see what will happen next, as this series is one that I'm very happy to have bought!

Excellent

Feel good story, about a serious problem, with a difficult solution. Get a team together made of three or four groups that hate each other, and make it work. Humans have a sorry history of getting along with different folks. Assuming there are aliens out, suppose they are hiding from us till minor differences don't count, because they are really odd. If we can't get along with ourselves, how can we get along with an alien?

Good read

Writing is good. Understandable and cohesive plots with minor situations that seem odd for the context. One typographical error of a missing “End Quote. Prison scene was slightly disjointed but it’s hard to write from Linus, Katias, Reg, Brutus , and SJ all at once
Character development has been 85% good but needs small tweaks to help you understand all of the situation. Get it and read. I’m looking forward to the next one.

I'm not sure how I missed these books but I'm happy I did!

What a great find, I thought I had read all of the KU books only to find out that I had missed almost a whole arc. I had read a few of the THW books and must have gotten distracted. I'm so happy to have found N.D. Roberts books. Great read! Looking forward to books 2 and 3. 3 is on pre-order, I should have it around the time I finish book 2. Peace!

Great book

Great book, solid characters. After I finish this series, I'm thinking of going back and reading the Terry Walton series. I've been jumping around in the TKG universe and there are so many branches to it that it can seem overwhelming. I started out with the original series even though I'm not really a sci-fi person, I prefer more the fantasy genre. At any rate, I recommend this book and I am looking forward to book 2.

Life discoveries

Sarah Jennifer has been running, and it’s time to stop: time to grow up. The Madness has been unleashed, and major changes are happening as well as old evils ending to be fought. This is an interesting introduction to Sarah Jennifer’s next chapter, and one that I’m curious to continue.

Really liked this book

I have enjoyed the kutherian universe, and had high expectations for this book. I was happy to find that it exceeded those expectations. This book did really well in filling in more backstory for an interesting character and I look forward to seeing how it plays out in the upcoming books. Definitely recommend it.

Incredible!

5 stars means this story kept me interested and entertained from cover to cover. Nonstop. I love Sarah Jennifer even though she's hardly snarky at all! This is a great addition to the Kurtherian Gambit universe. New and old friends in another great story! The next book in this series can't come soon enough for me!

Off to a GREAT start!

Thank you for starting this series! We’re finally going to get some answers to the questions we fans have had seemingly forever. A great beginning, tying in some characters we already know and love with some we’ve heard of before, and others that are brand new. I can’t wait to see how Sarah Jennifer saves the world!

Must Have More

I chose a 5-star rating because I was so invested in the main character I read the book straight through.
And didn't regret missing most of a night's sleep to do so.
I have to know more about her future endeavors!
Does she make it to the land bridge or does she stop them cold? Pun intended 😄.
There are so many things I want to know....

Great story

Technology or magic? I've loved the Kurtherian universe since I first stumbled across Bethany Ann, and this book is no exception - I'm looking forward to a full series on the birth of magic! Keep 'em coming! Though I'm kind of bummed that that I found this book so early in the cycle, and now have to wait for more volumes... LMBPN has spoiled me.😁

A Great New Addition to the Series

There are so many series within the Kurtherian Gambit series and each new addition has been a delight to me. This one is also a delight. It brought me back to earth to some old friends and new ones. Back to new adventures, new dangers, and new ways to get the job done. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Enjoy!

So I went for this book after seeing that it had more tha 4star rating.
Initially I liked the book and I thought I got something interesting to read.

But after the first half, I realized that the story is not edited properly. The dialogues are written in haste as if the author was worried about the deadline.

Many plots are given unnecessary description like the bus.

Great story

The story of Sarah Jennifer continues as she semi reluctantly becomes the Alpha of the troubled werewolf pack and stars to make them into a force for decency and a part of Salem. A good read.
