A very inspirational story about faith and love. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was absorbed in the story line between Sebastian and Aurora. I also enjoyed the side plot on Julia and Noah as the author challenges real-life conundrums including family commitment, love, and loyalty to their spouse. Overall, the book has a very homely and family feel imbued with love and a range of emotions from happiness to sadness to redemption in all the characters written.

A very original book.

Aurora and God follows the lives of two sisters, Aurora and Julia, as well as the young Catholic priest who tries to help them weather their personal storms. There are some parts of this book that are hard to read, characters I was infuriated with, and situations that made me uncomfortable. However, that is often how life unfolds. This thought-provoking family drama is real, gritty, and emotionally powerful but it’s also full of hope. I appreciated the message that while life can be difficult and bad things do happen, if we focus on our faith and turn to God, He will provide the strength for us to get through these problems.

This was a moving read. From the very beginning I could relate to Aurora, her struggles and her growth as a character throughout the book. The emotions in this story are written so that you don’t just read them, you feel them. There were some interesting and surprising turns throughout the story as well. Beautifully written and moving. It truly has a powerful message. Must read.

RECOMMEND!

Loved the romance between main characters and Aurora's path back to Lord. It is an amazing journey. The book connects us with everyday issues that we try to ignore and not work on our lives.

The book proves that life is beautiful and we should all try to improve ourselves and have patience and a good heart for those who are still in a bad place, without love and support.

For all generation to read!

Aurora, after loosing her boyfriend during an accident, finds herself surrounded by darkness. Struggling to find her way back to her faith, she accepts Sebastian’s help, a local priest.
I liked the idea behind this book, but I just found it poorly written. The book is rushed and in some point poorly connected. The characters feel robotic at times while interacting and one-dimensional. Ah and the grammar isn’t always correct.

This book just wasn’t my cup of tea. I was presented with it that it was a romance novel with a touch of spirituality but I’d disagree. It’s a religious book with a touch of romance - but weird romance. A bit over dramatic for me as well didn’t feel 100% realistic. If you’re into spirituality you may enjoy it though.

Edit to add: the publisher asked me to remove my review, I said no. That may be why this book is so highly rated.

Captured by its uniqueness!!!

I normally check ratings and reviews of an item I'd love to purchase. And this by far is one of the successes I have in buying online books! Such a relatable family story with a deep description of what Aurora felt. The author pulled off what seems to be the unique characteristics of each person in the story, from Aurora's anger to her parent's struggles. It was easy to understand what the author was trying to convey. A very well written piece!

Beautiful!!!
A friend of mine recommended me this book. She came upon it by chance as it was newly published and it impacted her life greatly, inspiring her more and more to believe in God and to be at peace that God is with her. She was lost in between religions and was trying to find the meaning of life, thereby took herself on a journey traveling the world to find a form of religion. She came back to her home last month and was reading some self-help spiritual books until she came upon "Aurora and God". She told me that this book brought light to her darkness as she could relate to all the characters, especially Aurora and Julia. Her perspective of what the universe was trying to teach her changed; and she became at peace in her heart when she learned to put her faith and trust in God – no matter who this God is. After reading the book, I could relate to what she means and I knew that it was no accident when she chanced upon this book. "Aurora and God" is beautifully written and sends a strong message that we can still have faith, hope, and trust in God through the eyes of Aurora and how she struggled with real-life problems of abuse, drugs, helping her sister in a broken relationship, and finally, her friendship with Sebastian – whom we believe was sent from God. The story is also romantic and humorous which makes it fun to read, but overall, there is a message of paying it forward and one that leads to peace. A must-read for all.

“Aroura and God” is a lovely and very inspirational story about a young woman who is lost and drowning in grief of a lost love, and her desperate quest to find God again. The interaction between Sebastian and Aurora is spiritually uplifting and thought provoking. The book shows how everyday issues in our lives can impact not only us personally, but those surrounding us. It is a beautifully written story filled with a wide range of emotions and situations and the joy in finding peace in the solutions through our relationship with God.

EDIT as of 6.23.2020 // I was informed that after receiving feedback, a professional editor has been hired to revise the book so please keep that in mind when reading my review!

I liked the idea of this story more than the execution of it. I do understand that this was a translated book so once I got used to that, I was able to get into it but I just felt like the story fell a little flat. It felt very rushed and could’ve been a longer story with better thought out transitions. Overall, I think those looking into reading a book about faith and finding God would really enjoy this book, it just wasn’t personally my cup of tea!

This book is currently being re-edited but I will be keeping my review of copy I was given and read. (Book originally published May 2020) *NOTE: I was asked to take my review down upon finishing because of my 2 star rating.

I enjoyed the concept of this book and the spiritual aspects of it which is surprising for me. The first 50% of the book was super interesting and I loved the dynamic between Aurora and Sebastian. I found that their theological and philosophical conversations were very uplifting and inspiring throughout the story. It brought a lot of great insight into religion and life. The beginning of the book really worked on how Sebastian helped Aurora find God again and heal her through it. She did however start feeling better shorty after seeing him, I would have liked it to be more of a struggle and focus on that longer in the story rather than taking it into a very messy direction.

That being said, the second half of the book was not the best. Aurora seemed to change moods so much and it was confusing because she was fine and then she is just upset. Which happens but it’s in this weird time jump where like some point later she is in her room being all sad. Then the book focused on just how Sebastian was leaving and Aurora liked him and that would upset her and then she treated him weird because she liked him which is so immature. That kept happening over and over again in the chapters.

Secondly, Julia was a really problematic character for me, because yes women can feel trapped in a relationship and not know what to do, but she was so weak and Noah for some reason would just always blame Aurora though what she was saying literally had nothing to do with Aurora & no person would equate the two to each other. Julia was a weak character as a whole, and overall just bothered me. ESPECIALLY when she was drinking wine while pregnant, who does that??

Sebastian was the best character in my opinion. He seemed so sweet, wise, down to earth, and very dedicated. He felt like the most dynamic character and really had his shit together. I am surprised he died in the end because most of the book indicated nothing being wrong. Aurora didn’t think there was anything wrong either but as a reader, I feel we should know or having inklings of it. Otherwise it looks like it’s thrown in at the end for shock value and a nice wrap up.

Also it is worth noting that the book constantly jumps around a lot from one paragraph to the next and so much time can go by in one chapter, which leaves you confused.

This book has good religious messages and meaningful conversations about life, so I think it would be worth the read for someone who would enjoy that. However the writing style made the book fall short for me and I found myself skimming through at the end of the book.

Aurora and God is a sweet book about a young woman's struggle with addiction, trauma and depression and finding her way back to herself and her faith. Aurora gave up on life many years ago after the death of her high school boyfriend Tom. Since then she has merely existed going to work at an unfulfilling job each day, whose nights are filled with darkness, and crippling loneliness where she often turns to pills and alcohol as her primary coping mechanisms. All of Aurora's loved ones struggle to help her, because she is unwilling to help herself. One day her parents arrange for Aurora to meet with a young priest whom she does not realize is the person her parent's intended for her to meet initially.

G.M.J writes powerful and compelling characters. At times I found myself hating Aurora. I could not stand her constantly blaming others and self-destructing, and behaving so immaturely, but this is a common mindset in people struggling with the issues she has faced. This book has a strong emphasis on Christianity and relationship to God. Sebastian, the young priest, helps Aurora to reconnect with the light within herself and God's love which she vacillates between wanting to accept and also being so trapped in this cycle of loneliness, dejection and struggling to accept that she is the biggest obstacle to happiness in her own life. I was in tears by the end of the novel as things come full circle for the protagonist, her sister and their family. Aurora's life is slowly transformed in her relationship with Sebastian and as she begins to let go of her attachment to her emotional wounds.

This book offers a softer look into the world of addiction and would be relatable for anyone who has struggled with addiction, grief and faith or had family members and friends struggle. This was the author's second book and first translated into English. Although the translation is not perfect, the book still offers powerful messages and lessons within and an enjoyable story with characters that can evoke emotions. I would solidly categorize this as a Christian fiction dealing with themes of loss of faith, questioning faith, familial expectations and dynamics, love and coming back to yourself and God, while also reading like a family drama.

This followed a girl who's boyfriend had died, she was lost and unsure of herself she had lost her connection with God. Then a priest comes into her life and they become friends, she starts to heal and gets her life back on track and finds her live for God again.

I have several problems with this book, although there are warm parts in this story the way the characters talk to each other is robotic, the characters over explain absolutely everything to each other which distracts from the book. Really some of what the characters said to each other could just be in the description. Also the sister is in a difficult situation and is being abused, and their mum tries to encourage the sister to stay with her husband. This is the reason why I have dropped this to 2 stars. Otherwise it would have been a 3.

There are nice parts, the closeness of the family all trying to help each other stay afloat on their lives, coming together and helping each other when they need it. There is finding love and friendship even after you think all hope is lost, and there is the aspect of finding a way to heal yourself to be able to get on with your life. However the bad parts were too much for the good parts of this book to make it any better.

However I think to really enjoy this book you would have to be religious, maybe even be on your own journey to appreciate and connect with God again. This book wasn't for me unfortunately, but mainly due to the religious aspect of the book.

A young troublesome addict, Aurora, and a priest on a mission, Sebastian, form a beautiful friendship. Slowly their friendship takes a turn when Sebastian starts to slowly distance himself from Aurora, hiding his true reasons.

Aurora and god was excellent, a real page-turner. Everything about Aurora and god was beautifully complex. I was blown away by the author’s ability to write such phenomenal scenes.

There were scenes and lines that made me sit there and cry. Or laugh. Or cheer. The characters drove the plot to a satisfying conclusion, and resolved every issue. The plot was cleverly woven, with each scene leading toward a larger goal. The conclusion answered all the questions the story asked, and resolved the plot. It started and ended strong.

The characters were so real and memorable that they could step outside the pages and be in the room with you. I cared what happened to them as if they were my own friends and family.

Aurora and god provided a gripping glimpse of how the characters lived in this well-developed world, and the action was heart-pounding and effortless to visualize.

The text was well written and engaging. The writing style was consistent and the exposition didn't slow the plot overly much. There were a few typographical and grammar errors, but not enough to take me out of the moment. Great cover design and page layout.

true inspiration story based on faith and love

Aurora... And God
✒🖋@mucha_theauthor

Ahhh... Don't judge the book by its name.. It's not a God preaching novel...

📜Aurora a girl in twenties is found in a shell covered with pain, sadness, death, failure and the choking emotions of life.. Did she plan for this life or was it circumstantial?? Something that's not under the controls of our finger typing continuously on a screen.

📈📉I believe "Life is a roller coaster ride"
But what would you do when you lose balance in it.. Can you stand, sit or crawl to regain and maintain the equilibrium or you lose hope and dwell in the oblivion of the depth of the shore... Are you ready for the ride?

😇Life takes a turn towards uphill when Fr. Sebastian puts her belt on for another ride to go up the hill and fetch for enlightenment that seeks a life with happiness, content and meaningful.. Who is Fr. Sebastian? What is his purpose in Aurora's life?

📖🔖 life is a bookmark of events and this book is a connection between the bookmarks of real-life and the tale of Aurora.. The batter of life cake is moulded by our own sets of events how we unleash the hopelessness and fasten the belt of hope and believe. How to do it?

📑Simple language..
Beautifully written..
Life lessons learnt..

The question raised in this caption is answered in the book. Grab your copy to know the answers to this question and find out more about life..

Aurora...and God. What a spiritual journey. This book delves into the depths of one family's struggles to reveal the core of human existence and the basis for all human life; the love of God. We long for it, even if we do not admit it, even though it is all around us. We run from it, even though we want it. We push it away, even though it is life sustaining. No matter how hard we deny it, push it away, or run from it, it is always there. Because God is always there. Simply waiting for us to accept it.
This book is a gripping story of a family, most outstanding in the family is Aurora. Aurora does everything possible to run from God's love, until she meets a messenger from God. Even then, Aurora struggles with accepting the fullness of God's love, which is the only true path to happiness. Once she finally accepts His love is the way to bring happiness to herself and her family, God shows her the true meaning of "God works in Mysterious ways". There is no way the reader will ever see the ending of this book coming. Highly recommend.

I found this book spiritually uplifting with the theological teachings from the priest Sebastian to Aurora and the actions he did for her and her family. For any man, even a priest, I felt what he did was truly endeavoring and something we hardly see nowadays. The story starts off slow with Aurora being clearly depressed, irrational, and clearly under the influence of drugs. I didn’t like her at first because she just seemed to be wallowing in her own sorrows and unleashing it on her family and friends. But I felt that she matured spiritually in the book and that is something we can all take back with us. She also showed a great deal of moral-fiber in to stand up for her sister, Julia, against her abusive boyfriend, which I think took a lot of guts as many women are still being treated like this even in our own reality. I can see that there are some life-references in this book, and I found something to reflect upon at a personal level.

Aurora and God! If there's Aurora and God, there is also me and God! This book is so powerful in all its aspect! The title alone is just so powerful that when your eyes see those words like there is a force that makes you pull and read it! The cover is simple but deeper than the depth of the ocean.

The story is superbly weaved that page by page it will knock you down. Like those scars that you have slowly healed as you read. A very relatable story. I loved how the character bounces back to life.
Words are easy to grasp, organize and well thought.

This is a must-read book during this pandemic. It is very inspiring. It kind of a book where after reading like the whole thing still shouts at you. Like it refreshes my soul and makes it happy.

Such a kind of book you want to share and you wish everybody must have read it.

Thank you author for writing this kind of story! For sure, I'll be grabbing all your masterpieces and share it.

Tragedy finds Aurora as she losing the love of her life Tom, in a traffic accident. She battles with drugs and falls off the deep end, losing all hope. She eventually accepts help from a near by priest which turns her life around but then he vanishes too without giving reason! So Aurora finds herself alone and lost yet again. What Aurora does keeps one guessing and wondering with suspense and genuine concern. She is a very likeable and relatable character who just has the worst luck! This is an inspiring read and great for those who have struggled or are struggling with their inner demons. This book is about becoming close with God, and learning life's lessons and heartache is just part of the right path closer to Heaven. This is also a great read for anyone who is fond of romance, and christianity beliefs in general. I truely enjoyed this book, I am sure you will too. Enjoy!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Aurora and God and was attracted to Aurora's journey back to God with Sebastian. I enjoyed the dialogues with them and how she was filled with joy and awe. It really was romantic to read, in a pure way. I also felt sorry for Aurora's twin sister. There was a mix in emotions for me on her. She wanted what was best for herself and her children, but this book reflected the real struggles of human relationships and commitments to their spouses and to for a person to uphold their own morals as well. In the end, I was sad for Aurora in what she had to deal with, but I also found it the most beautiful experience in what she went through. I was filled with hope and faith for her. Most of all, love, and that life will always be alright in God's hands.

Aurora lost her boyfriend to a motorcycle accident, and have been dealing with the pain ever since. Having fallen into depression, she resorted to drugs and became rebellious toward her family and friends. Aurora’s parents made her start seeing a priest, Fr. Aurora and God is a story about faith, love and healing after loss.
I liked Aurora and Sebastian’s relationship and how he helped her find her way, but at the end it all became a little rushed and confusing.
Overall if you like books about faith and spirituality it’s a good read.
