Artificial Intelligence (AI) is something everyone should know something about. This is because it’s having an impact on everyone’s life, even if many people don’t realize it. This spans everything from how we work, travel and shop, the way we obtain news and information, to the gadgets in our homes and even the relationships we have with each other.
Drawing upon the author's wealth of experience, Artificial Intelligence: A 60 Minute Guide provides a concise, yet comprehensive, introduction to this fascinating subject in an exciting and jargon-free way.
Steven Finlay has published several books about artificial intelligence and related subjects. He is currently head of Analytics at Computershare Loan Services and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Lancaster University Management School in the UK.
Received a Kindle copy as a GoodReads giveaway. Concise and easy to understand by laypersons like myself. It's a high-level overview but includes suggestions for further reading along with a glossary.
This book received 5 stars from me because it does a good job of doing what it promises to do. Namely, in short order tell you what you should know about AI. I have published academically in the AI space and I found the material useful, accurate and informative to those who do not know the field.
Covers what AI is about today and how it is being used in the real world - not the fantasy stuff of the future that a lot of books cover. Short and informative.
I won this in a kindle Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you. I was looking forward to reading this book as I am quite uninformed about AI and was interested in learning. This was a concise, easy to understand guide. It did take me fairly longer than the proposed 60 minutes, and I am not a particularly slow reader.
While I felt pressured to read it within the allotted time frame at the recommended reading rate, it did go fairly quickly and I learned much about a relatively new subject that I was not very familiar with. It gave me a whole new appreciation for AI.
