Attack of Apollyon: Revenge of the Locusts (Left Behind: The Kids, #19) Jenkins, Jerry B. This series is a great way to break down the symbolism in the bible for kids, having kids live through the events described in the book of Revelations of what would happen if God came and reclaimed his Church. It is a way to connect children to the bible, and make them understand the Christian teaching and way of life.
It has been a while since I have read the book before this one. So it was a little hard trying to remember what was happening. I’m glad they had the what’s gone on before section. It really helped. My brain is having a hard time wrapping around what the world is like. I think it said at some part in the book at Chicago was basically gone? Which is crazy to think about. Mr. Stein went to Africa with Judd. It’s crazy that the world is falling apart because they are easily still fly halfway across the world! And the kids at the schoolhouse have so many nonbelievers that they are having to watch over. And the one girl, Janie, is getting annoying. Like just listen to Vicki.

In the 1st chapter Vicki and the Chi-Town force is in the. Old and everyone desperate for warmth. Vicki prays that no one there who is not a believer doesn’t die. They talk to Melinda who is sleeping and skin turning purple and try to get her to repent and she. Chooses not to. The Israeli Force is scattered. Lionel is trying to calm Jamal down because Nada and Samuel was caught by Samuels Dad and Judd ran to get them. Jamal plans on kick them out because of Nada being taken from the police. In chapter 2, the Chi-Town Force is trying to check on everyone health. Due to the cold if anyone was to go into a deep sleep then, they’d die. Melinda yelled that her leg was broke Vicki knowing first aid came to the rescue. Conrad examined it and seen that it was a frostbite. The Israeli force is at Jamal’s house and talking about the disobidence and their next move. Judd is in an interrogation room with Sam’s dad and a Commander. Judd waved the rule the Carpathia had spoken saying that all believers of Carpathia aren’t fugitives anymore. They put Judd in a cell. In Chapter 3 the Chi Town believers try to heat everything up and pray and watched a news video of the witnesses preaching again. They said “….The judgement will not pass until all believers who are sealed are released” this was said because o9f the promise Carpathia made. After that Judd was release and trashed everything because of suspicions of having a tracking device placed on him. He and Lionel is thrown out after a note of Nada confessing her feelings to Judd. In Chapter 4 everyone is rejoicing that the pass judgement is over. They are finally getting Janie and Melinda to open up to God. They also see to it that Mark is going to meet this Carl dude that John met before he died. Judd and everyone getting kicked out has one more time to talk to Nada and then goes to Yitzaks house and sees Mr.Stein. He expresses to them that God told him to go somewhere in Africa and to take Judd with him. In Chapter 4 The kids open up the schoolhouse again and they are having their scholars look at a website of Dr. Ben Judah and Judd and Mr. Stein followed God’s directions and got a plane to Mali. In Chapter 5, Mark and Conrad goes out to find Janie and they find her with a crying baby. She said her husband went to look for food during the judgement and she found his corpse. Her and Janie begged for somewhere to lay their heads and they let them in. Shelly prepared a room, Darrion cooked dinner, Charlie set up a crib and Vicki Druid some guest warming. Judd and Mr. Stein gets off the plane, they pray and sing and goes down memory lane about Chaya and talk about some chapters in Psalms. Then a man named Immen came to them from God to give their assignment. In chapter 6 and 7 Judd and Mr. Stein were in a rural town in Mali. They were in a tribal territory in which they didn’t speak their language and Immen could do little translation. Then Mr. Stein tried his best with Immen to understand and translate, but God’s supernatural power had Mr. Stein like the witnesses because everyone understood in their own native language. The Chi-Town force had to welcome someone that Janie found with a baby and 3 sec quick widow because her husband froze looking for food. Janie spoke highly of them which concerns the Chi-Town force because she was so against them. Chapter 8 and 9 was how Vicki reconnected with Janie and then whisked Mark away to meet Carl but then regretted it because news reported that a star feel from the sky and that let them know a new judgement was coming. Chapter 10 and 11talks about how The Chi-Town force is giving money to the Israeli force to help both the Israeli and African Force to Chicago again. Judd is wondering how he is getting back to Israel, Lionel on how he is getting Nada away from her dad, and Vicki how can she house 4 unbelievers without getting caught. Every force member was someone where hearing that is was an appointed time in which they would persecute people who follows or reads Tsion Ben Judahs website. Then they heard a noise and a Great shout. All believers and unbelievers heard it is was an angel fulfilling the prophecy saying in the Bible it said “Woe, Woe, Woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the trumpet blast about to be sounded by three of the other angels.” (Rev 8:13) and this meant the next few judgements are going to be unstupendous. Then, the locust came with a face of a person, hollowed eyes and pouring venom. They knew that they were demonic people talking an animal organism. Janie in Chi-Town was trying to tell them that hearing the angels voice was a hoax. All the people of the tribulation knew that the locust are only attacking non believers but the sounds of Janie’s screams pierced Vicki’s heart. In Chapter 12, Judd is getting off of his plane telling the flight attendants he can help and telling them why the locust won’t touch him, Lionel and Sam are in the airport terminal watching people frolic around, Carl in which finally met Mark took him from the airport moments before the 4th judgement and helped Carl become a believer, and the Chi-Town crew watched as Janie suffered from the bite of a locust.

Reading as a read-aloud to my 12 & 13 year old. Inspiring some great conversations. Whether our Theology lines up with the Authors or not, doesn't really matter. We are doing a Bible Study with BSF on Revelation and reading these books have also encouraged us to go back to the Word and see what it says.
