I was ready to propose and I got upstaged by a snake.
Not a real one.
My bandmate.
A case of mistaken identity almost derailed my proposal to Amy, but in the end, love prevailed.
And my hand hurts from the punch, but it was worth it.
She’s worth it.
But I really need an ice pack now.
Though a kiss from Amy and that yes are even better.
Random Acts of Yes is a short story in the Random Acts world, with drummer Sam Hinton proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Amy. Enjoy this short, sweet, and a little steamy peek at the gang as the Random series continues.
This is a 60-page short story set in the Random series after Random Acts of Hope and features all of the main characters from the first four Random books (except for Mavis the Chicken. Sorry.)
**This story originally appeared in the LOL vol. 2 boxed set**
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
A great installment in the series, Sam finally asks Amy to marry him. That angsty moment in the blurb is a little silly and contrived, but let's just gloss over that shall we?
Book 3 by Julia Kent in Red Hot Bikers, Rock Stars, & Bad Boys, didn't impress me much. It's more of a 1-2 in my opinion. The wording just didn't do it for me. Part of it could be that I don't know the past, but I don't think so.
Another great read from Julia Kent! This is a series so please read it in order or you will have trouble understand what has happend and lead this awesome group of young adults to this point. This one touched my heart. The whole gang from Random Acts are still up to their antics and you will find yourself laughing. I love this series and can not recommend it highly enough.
Book 5 in the Random series. This is not a stand-alone, but a short continuation of Sam and Amy's story from book 2 Random Acts of Trust. They are still working on the trust when a misunderstanding cancels Sams big romantic gesture. The secondary characters are the other band members & their girlfriends and are the same throughout the series. Told in dual POV with sweet ending!
Murphy’s Law suggests that if it can go wrong, it will. And the guys, and their girls of Random Acts of Crazy seem to prove out this theory. This short little story manages to touch on a bunch of big themes; including love, jealousy, trust, and forgiveness, as well as that sense of “the family you choose” that fills every story in this series. I read this book as part of the box set.
A continuation of Sam and Amy's story. Completely hilarious and an emotional journey for both. Can't stop there when you add Trevor, Darla and Joe to the mix as well as Liam. Thank you Julia for another completely crazy but fabulous read.
Nice short filler story. I like Sam and Amy so was glad to basically wrap up their story. I will say Sam's reaction in one pivotal scene for me would have been a deal breaker. Amy is a more forgiving person than I am and did make Sam face his issue.
I like this book, but I like longer books that I can sit and read for more than an hour. It was, however, as described. I probably would have put it at the end of one of the other books in the Random series.
Omg -Sam and Amy what a great wrap to an even greater story. Julia Kent have this story a little twist which was "one of those" moments that she does so well.
Enjoyable little novella that describes the train wreck of a proposal between Sam and Amy. If it can go wrong it does, however sometimes things aren’t what they seem.
Wow! There are tears of hilarity in my eyes from reading this addition to the story. Julia Kent can not only definitely write, but takes the time to proofread before she publishes. A very rare trait in today's writing. I will read everything of hers I can find, in the very near future!
Definitely a writer worth enjoying! A 5th story, in a row, by her, with ZERO grammatical errors, nor any typos. I was beginning to think that was an absolute requirement of today's authors.
I was fortunate to read this story as part of a box set in which Julia Kent originally released this book...now that it is out on it's own I have purchased it and re-read it again!. I have read all of her books including all of the Ramdom series and I do love them all! They have some laugh out loud moments...some tears and of course some very sexy moments as does this story which focuses on Amy and Sam. This story does have some familiar faces ..Darla..Joe..Trevor and Liam with the famous blow up doll and not to mention a certain chicken! I promise not to revel any secrets as that will spoil it for those of you who wish to read this yet another great story written by Julia Kent. I highly recommend this book and any and all of Julia Kent's books ...I promise that you will not be disappointed as she is truly and amazing author! Thank you for keeping me entertained and always wanting more!
I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story is a short follow-up to Random Acts of Trust (Random #2). Sam has finally decided to ask the woman of his dreams, his everything to be his wife. He makes his plans carefully so that it is a big surprise for Amy. When a misunderstanding between him, Amy, and there friend Liam, all his plans fall apart. Can the love of two special people bring them back together to fulfill both there dreams?
This is one of my favorite couples and I was so pleased when we got a little bit more of their lives in this story. It was a sweet look at Sam and the lengths he was willing to go through to ask the woman he loves to be his forever.
I can see it all happening Sam punching Liam in the face, the anger, the hurt and then the realization it was a huge mistake, a honest mistake. Sam running up the stairs to the roof, sad Amy contemplating life and dear sweet Sam, nervously strumming the ukulele, singing the song written only for Amy, dropping to one knee, asking her to marry him, and of course the ring flying thru the air, the save, their cheering friends watching, cheering and of course c a 's and champagne... Only you Julia Kent can draw me in as if I was there witnessing the events first hand. Thank you for not a "Goodread" but a GREATread"
Another great read from Julia Kent! As part of the hilarious 'Random Acts' series this installment does not disappoint. All the supporting characters are beloved 'Random' characters and just as funny and full of life as they are in the previous books. This is Amy and Sam's time to cross wires, be funny and fall deeper in love. Sam's romantic side shines through. He writes a song for her and buys a ring...HEA is within their reach. You will gasp, laugh and cry. A fantastic follow up to their romance. Well developed characters, quick an witty story lines are Ms. Kent's trademark. Always a good read and a great value.
