The Doctor's Nanny

Rate this book
He’s about to propose to the woman of his dreams when he meets the love of his life.

As a successful neurosurgeon about to propose to his gorgeous girlfriend, Ryan Harper has the perfect life. When his sister and brother-in-law die in a tragic car accident, he suddenly becomes a single dad to his orphaned niece and nephews. A sixty-hour workweek with a houseful of children is a lot to juggle, and he desperately needs help.

When Destiny Brown finds herself out of work, she takes a job as a temporary live-in nanny. Despite her lack of experience, she’s certain she can handle four kids. Fighting her attraction to her handsome boss, however, is going to require some extra training.

While all his spare time should be on connecting with his girlfriend, Destiny’s love and devotion to his family is working its way into his heart. Every conversation, every interaction, every heated glance across the table, might be a step closer to his destiny—until his best friend starts pursuing Destiny.

Ryan can do one of two things: confess his feelings to his employee, or suffer in silence and let fate take its course.

This was a cute read. You really can’t go wrong with a nanny/single dad/guardian book. The kids were adorable and I liked the hero and heroine.

A beautiful, clean, Christian romance. This tender story was a slow burn. I really felt the love and devotion between the main characters.

I Did Not Finish at 30 percent.

The constant praying, lack of character development, and poor dialogue had me tossing this one back to the stacks. Too bad because I was really looking for some romance playing with one of the main couples being Black. Oh well.

And also will say my Kindle didn’t show this as a Christian romance, nothing against them but the main plot always seem to be praying and or God and nothing else. I just found myself bored senseless while reading this.

If you are looking for a clean romance with Christian themes this is such a wonderful book.

I absolutely adored Destiny for her soft heart, bubbly personality, and child like enthusiasm for life. I loved that she not only met the children’s basic needs but also loved to just play and spend time with them. She wasn’t worried about getting down in the dirt, risking her life for them, or having a water fight. She loved them as their own and protected them fiercely. Though sometimes she did find herself and the kids in precarious situations.

Ryan was about as opposite from Destiny as you can get and yet the perfect compliment to her. I love that he fell hard and yet tried to deny his feelings and attraction toward Destiny.

This is definitely slow burn where you see Destiny and the kids a lot and their interactions. And I did wish there was more time with Destiny and Ryan, but their moments and time together always made it worth it.

If I could sum it up it is like Sound of Music but make it contemporary.

It’s such a sweet read and one that will make you smile.

Wholesome

This is my first time reading this author’s books. The book was very uplifting. Destiny landed a job as a nanny for Ryan. Ryan is a busy surgeon taking care of his twin sisters four children after she and her husband are killed in a car wreck. Destiny has no experience but makes up for that with a loving heart and endless enthusiasm. The children love her and pretty soon Ryan does too. They have one major blowout near the end of the book....I think she forgave him too easily.....but she is nicer than I am. I really enjoyed their story and the sweetness of their love journey.....Totally G rated 😁

Destiny may have found her destiny with a complete family and a guy who was totally the opposite of her in so many ways. They both drove each other crazy at times, but when God brings people together, they are able to work out their differences. Just maybe, Destiny has led someone to the Lord. Very well done!

Don’t waste your time

This was the most boring book I have read in years. I only finished it on principal. It took over a week to complete because it couldn’t hold my attention for long. Save your money read Vivian Rose Lee or Beverly Jenkins Rochelle Alers
A waste of time in my opinion unless your under twelve years of age.

The Doctor's Nanny, the first book in her new Caregivers series, will appeal to a wide range of readers and includes diverse characters that they can easily relate to. I just love Rose Fresquez's books, and I think The Doctor's Nanny is my new favorite book of hers.

After the unexpected death of his sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Ryan Harper is suddenly the legal guardian of their four children. Ryan quickly realizes he needs assistance with children, and the new nanny, Destiny Brown, is a breath of fresh air to the entire family. I'm hovering between 2 and 3 stars. First off, I hate the title. It's a title more suited to a Harlequin novel than a Christian romance. But this book was a decent read if fairly predictable. I don't know how much I bought the premise though. Who hires a nanny who has to be shown how to change a diaper or promises to get you a dog if you clean your room? Once I got over that I enjoyed the book more. I do wish there were more talking scenes between all of the characters and less internal dialogue. We know they fall in love, but there have never been any in depth conversations between Destiny and Ryan, just surface ones. At the end she mentions a best friend and that it's been so hard to get a hold of her, but I'm pretty sure that was the first mention of the friend???

Dr Ryan Harper is a busy surgeon without a family until his twin sister, Bree & husband, Gavin are killed in an auto accident. Ryan was named the guardian of his niece & nephew, 4 in all, 1 girl & 3 boys with one still a baby! Ryan’s whole life changes, but he soon finds that the kids come first in his life. A family emergency with his nanny finds him hiring Destiny to be a temporary nanny, who is in need for a job and has never been a nanny! Life settles into a new routine with Destiny as she learns what it takes to be a nanny. Destiny grew up in foster families so she wanted to make life fun for her new charges and the kids falls in love with her. Destiny has many mishaps with the kids but many fun times too. In the meantime, Ryan’s girlfriend, Katie is not fitting into Ryan’s new family because she just don’t like kids. After the breakup, Ryan can’t stop thinking about Destiny, but he doesn’t want to cross that line since he is her boss. Does Ryan cross the line? Is Destiny the nanny he keeps after his other nanny returns from her emergency? I laughed, cried and thoroughly enjoyed this book!

A very beautiful story of learning what the things in our lives are that we really need. Dr. Ryan is over his head. His twin sister and his brother in law have died in a horrible accident that has left their 4 children homeless. With Ryan being named as the person that his sister wanted to become the caregiver for her children. When their nanny has to leave for personal reasons Ryan is left floundering. Destiny is a free spirit that suddenly finds herself out of a job. When she decides to apply for a nanny position, she wonders if this is something she can do as she has never been around children. This story has so many things that happen I found my emotions all over the place. The 4 children are such a mix of personalities but they all share the pain of missing their parents. This story is humorous, it has dangerous situations, it has confusion for the characters, it has love and romance, and I loved it. This is a beautiful journey to learning to live again when life has dealt you with hurt and conflicts and learning that God cares about you.
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.

The Doctor's Nanny was a lovely story although sad and heartbreaking, very lovely. Ryan and the kids deal with such an excruciating lost when the kids parents and Ryan's twin sister dies in a accident. He's doing the best he can becoming the father of 4 kids instantly with hardly any help from his current girlfriend whom doesn't like/want kids. Destiny is a God send in the guise of a nanny helping with the kids but also helping to heal Ryan's broken heart. She has zero experience as a nanny as well as with kids and has quite of few mishaps and near misses with the kids. Ryan spends far too much time denying his feelings at first then being scared to voice them to her especially as their old nanny returns after dealing with a family emergency. Even when he finally goes to talk to her, he talks about her coming back as a nanny and not as the love of his life. As long as it took, I was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to tell her and they get to live happily ever after as one big happy family. Glad he finally did and they got to experience true happiness with life's up's and down's.
This is my first book by the author and most certainly will not be my last. I can't wait to read future books in this series.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange from my honest review.

As a non-Christian, when I found out that a book is a Christian-romance, I hesitate to pick up a book. The truth is that with "The Doctor's Nanny," the hesitation was resolved us the religious part was minor; it is more about faith in God.
I want to thank Booksirens that gave me an e-arc for my honest review. Ryan and Destiny are a lovely interracial couple that was matchmade with Jia's help. Ryan needs help with his four niece and nephews after becoming their guardian after their parents passed away in an accident.
The Doctor's Nanny is the first book of a series, and I really liked it because of the slow burn relationship between the two main characters. The angst is at the correct pacing, and I believe the four children are an important part that Destiny & Ryan's relationship.
If you are looking for a clean sweet romance, I recommend picking up The Doctor's Nanny. I am looking forward to continuing with The Caregivers series, and I will read more books by Rose Fresquez.

It was spectacular!

Ryan Harper has the perfect life and soon to be perfect wife, or at least so he thinks. Katie is amazing and just what he needs. All he has to do is ask. Too bad that got cancelled for babysitting... There is always next time.

As it so often does, his changes in one dreadful instance. His sister and her husband are dead. And now he has 4 children of his own to care for. He is a doctor, so the money is there. He is at the end of his rope, nevertheless. He has no experience as a parent and a good nanny is impossible to find.

Well, not impossible. There is destiny and then there is Destiny. This is all new to her, but these children are amazing. They are her family... until the old nanny comes back.

Can Ryan and Destiny work together to care for these young blessings? What will happen if they work together too well? Is this what is best for the family?

I loved it! Having been a nanny for many years, it is a pleasure to read a story like this that does not end up sullying the profession. Too often, nannies are put on the level of homewreckers. While it does happen, some nannies do what they do best because the children need them.

She highlighted some only too familiar points for me. There is nothing in this world like having a child dub you "mommy" even if you are just "nanny". It is like feeling agony and ecstasy simultaneously. The other point was how willing you are to protect those little one you inevitably end up loving.

It was beautiful.

… Instant fatherhood

… A nanny who is clueless

… Four children learning all about loss at way too young of an age

Ryan is heartbroken when he learns of his twin sister’s sudden death. The children love him and he loves them. But how is he going to juggle learning to be a parent, work 60 plus hours a week and help the children through their grief?

It may look hopeless, it may seem impossible, but with G_d, all things are possible. And just who would G_d send their way? Surely not a rather flaky but sweet young woman who also is down on her luck, right? Yes, Destiny certainly has her flaws, but she’s perfect for this job. You see, skills can be learned, but the love that radiates within her is natural and perfect for this newly found family.

It’s heartwarming watching the children, the uncle and the nanny grow together, learn from each other and fit into G_d’s perfect plan, mistakes and all. It certainly isn’t easy but it’s oh, so rewarding seeing how He uses imperfect people and blends them into a loving, caring family.

When Ryan becomes father of four kids over night after the deaths of his twin sister and her husband, he has to find a nanny to juggle parenthood along his demanding job as a surgeon. When Destiny starts working for him, the household is turned upside down: Destiny is rarely on time, the house is a constant mess, the kids have no stable bed time routine anymore… but happiness returns as well when laughter fills the house thanks to her caring and loving nature.
I loved this touching story. Though the outline of the plot was clear early on, it was captivating and written in a compelling way. I like stories with this subject and particularly appreciated how the author made it come to life. If a story about orphans finding stability and happiness again is also the kind of book you enjoy reading, you will definitely spend a great time with this one.

Enjoyed this realistic picture of what it’s like to be a nanny, taking care of someone else’s children. The full gamut of emotions were covered including feeling: frantic, overwhelmed, needed, fulfilled, insufficient, loved, lacking and loved. I especially love how a non typical nanny played the role in this story as Destiny is disorganized and always running late yet what she lacks in organization she makes up for in care and attention she gives to the children. But when her interests for their dad take a romantic turn, could Ryan ever see her as anything other than a nanny. As a reader I felt grief, annoyance, pity, frustration, happiness and satisfaction for the characters throughout.

Love this wholesome and inspiring story engaging a spectrum of emotion. Although the characters definitely are attracted to one another, instead of the mad dash to hon in on that they respectfully focus on taking care of the kids and getting to know one another's quirks so the kids will have the support and comfort they need in this transition. She adds adventure and some normalcy to their lives. I think there were too many risqué mishaps which became predictable. Opposites attract, she is very outgoing, he is much more reserved and mainly since I am a romance junkie I would have preferred more "clean" romantic moments for them in order to experience how they blend as a couple nevertheless very consuming and inspirational story. his is the first book that I read from this author. I had to opportunity to receive a free ARC in exchange for my honest review, and here we are.

I really enjoyed The Doctor’s Nanny. Ryan and Destiny are easy to like and the romance develops naturally. There is chemistry and a natural transition from employer/employee, to friends, to more. The kids are adorable (Zoe is definitely my favorite). This patchwork family made my heart smile. I would describe it as the book version of a Hallmark movie - some drama, wholesome, and overall sweet.

There are undertones of Christianity, as Destiny is a character that is connected to her faith. There are a few Bible verses, but the book wasn’t preachy. I felt like religion was important to the character, so the incorporated made sense.

If you are looking for a feel good romance to read, I suggest The Doctor’s Nanny.

Rose has woven a delightfully heartwarming story of loss, love, and family.
After the loss of his twin sister Ryan has become an instant dad to four children. Destiny is just the person he needs to take care of the kids. She’s young, selfless, and full of energy. It’s not long before the children are attached.
Her methods are a lot different than his. He’s not sure how to handle her tardiness, the mess, or the noise but somehow it all seems to work.
The problem is his growing attraction to his nanny and a girlfriend who never wants to have kids.
I love how the relationship between Destiny and Ryan grows as they each fill a void in the other. The chemistry moves at just the right pace.
This is a wonderful easy read. I recommend it.

I wanted to like this book, I really did, but....it became a DNF. This is my first Christian romance and I really wanted to like it, but it was just, what can I say, boring. 64% through the book and they still hadn't expressed their love/attraction for each other to each other. I mean, slow burn is one thing, but this is just too much. Also, I really wasn't into the whole four kids thing. Maybe one or two, but that seemed a lot to realistically have to take on at once for a novice in the nanny field. Also, the fact that Destiny is mixed race, and the kids are mixed race, was just a little too convenient for the story line in my humble opinion. Glad it was on sale and I only paid $.99 for it on Amazon Kindle.

I loved this story! This is a sweet, clean and fun read. It shows just how much family can rely on each other and what they will do for one another. I enjoyed the faith that is portrayed in this story, not preachy, just subtle reminders. The nanny sounded like so much fun, and she truly loved the children and had their best interests at heart. While mishaps came up, and certainly there were some times full of suspense, it all ended up well.

I think the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel like you were a part of the story,

This is an awesome stand alone story.
Ryan is a surgeon, the uncle to four nephews and a niece. Little did he know when he volunteered to babysit for his sister that his life would change forever.
Destiny is a young Christian woman who is suddenly out of a job when her roommate suggests an interview as a nanny.
This is the story of the Doctor's nanny and how lives can change in an instant for the bad and the good. With faith, love, and family, life can move on and be better than before.

Destiny doesn't know how to be a nanny, but she knows how to love. She takes the four children who have lost their parents into her heart, and she teaches them about God's love. Ryan, the children's uncle and guardian, also finds himself responding to her love and has mixed feelings about marriage. Will he be able to see that Destiny is just who he needs?
I enjoyed the sweetness of this love story and the way God worked in this family to bring back happiness.

I’m sorry but there was no way I could finish this book. I couldn’t even give a 1 star rating. Destiny is “THE WORST” nanny in the history of mankind. I don’t care how cute, carefree and quirky she is. She can’t cook, clean and can barely change a diaper. She gives the kids gum for breakfast and stuffs them with soda and junk food before dinner 🤦🏽‍♀️ She obviously has no common sense. And to make matters worse, she literally almost kills the baby and one of the boys 😳😱 All this happens on her first day on the job.
