Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.
During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.
Besides her full time job of teaching, in 2013 and 2014, she sold on her own sold books to three different publishers. The Zoastra Affair, Chaperoning Paris, Borrowing the Doctor, and Electing Love will be published from Soul mate Publishing. Mything the Throne will be published with Double Dragon Ebooks. Favorite Coffee, Favorite Crush will be published with Jupiter Press.
Now she is represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency and she hopes to continue selling her novels that she writes. Moving up to the next level from hard work and determination is rewarding, and partnerships bring new opportunities.
Also she’s the Vice President of Progams for the Florida Romance Writers. She’s gone to multiple conferences and intends to continue. She learns and meets so many people at conferences. Her website is here, www.victoriapinder.com, and she’ll continue to grow my web presence. She is working hard on other projects and found the time to plan her wedding this year.
Before writing, her father had taken her to many star trek conventions and on her own she grew up as the only girl in the 90s at the comic book store. Science Fiction was her first love, but contemporary romance was her second. She’s sticking with contemporaries for the near future.

I think this book/plot had a lot of potential but unfortunately the writing fell a little flat for me. I had a hard time getting into the writing style and the story moved too fast sometimes to make sense, especially with how fast the main characters were figuring everything out after not seeing each other for 7 years.

WHIM - WHAM - BAM -- talk about speed lightning match-up! Readers get the whole shebang over the course of maybe 10 days in a short and quick read that had way too many editing problems, along with far-fetching realism in a sports-related second chance romance.

I liked the major league baseball player Michael's character (although a bit unbelievable as well), but Georgiana was a whole different matter. She was way over the top in her visions of life and marriage -- and any other weird ideas and excuses she came up with in regards to relationships. Readers will find some sexy talk, lots of kissing but the real sex scenes are behind closed doors and they don't invite you in (and I wasn't the least bit disappointed by this omission).

There's an additional epilogue (three or four pages of really not much) and it's just an excuse to get readers to sign up for the author's newsletter. Not impressed by this maneuvering.

Disappointing

Editing. Editing. Editing. Editing.

I am so disappointed with this book I'm actually upset I paid a dollar and some change for it. I'm not even half way through the book and I'm annoyed. I basically skipped to the end just to write this review.
Georgiana met Michael Irons 7 years ago in the Bahamas. Rushing back home to the side of her Mother as her dad became ill. Georgia realizes she's pregnant with no way to contact Michael. Years later Georgia attends a baseball game with her son where she discovers the father of her child.
This book is disappointing for me because the plot was very good and when I started reading I realized how much of a let down it was. I really wanted to like it, but I'm struggling to get through the rest of the book. It's feels very boring and monotoned. The editing is killing me because at one point Michael is sitting down, but then he's stepping closer to her, but he pulls her to him as they're sitting. Did he stand up and then sit down again? We don't know, the story just continues with more inconsistencies. The transitions are sloppy if there are any. The repeated "I'd" gets old real fast and this format of conversation:
I sat on his lap and said "let's have breakfast."
He gently touches my face and said "let's go."
This is an example of how the dialogue is formatted and the "he said" and "and said" repeated over and over in every conversation is tiring. Please give this book a fighting chance by reviewing and re-editing it. I wanted to like it but I can barely finish it. I'm struggling to get through it because I'm incapable of not finishing a book I've started. But I'm having to push myself for the sake of getting to the end of this book. Until this book is overhauled of revamped I can't say i'd recommend reading it.

Kindle freebie in a box set, I think I'll pass on the whole set seeing as I can't even be arsed to finish this one.

Boring, chichèd and so stupid. Our heroine hooked up with the hero seven years ago in the Bahamas. Didn't get his last name, left in a rush because her dad died. She was pregnant, never realised hero was up and coming baseball star.
Present day, she's taken her son to his game, where he spotted her, knew her immediately, realised the kid was his, offered family seats, other players realise the kid is his - because the resemblance is SO obvious (eyeroll) and start haggling him, then he hit a homerun, referred to her as his lucky charm and kissed her. WTF?
As fucking if!? Oh, and he's been celibate the entire time cause no other woman "smelled or taste right after being with Georgie". Okay, unlikely but I'll admit kinda nice compared to typical romance novel manwhorish sports stars.
Unfortunately this so just so boring and I have zero interest in these characters. DNF.

Cute story!
7 years ago, Georgie and Michael had a vacation fling and never saw each other again. No sharing of last names or information.
So when she attends a baseball game with her son, guess who she runs into., Michael Irons, famous shortstop, and he is not happy especially when Georgie's son looks just like Mike. Surprise!!!!

Waste Of My Time

This book was literally ridiculous. I kept hoping it would get better, so I kept reading but honestly, I should’ve just given up like 7 minutes in when I first had the thought. The same things kept getting repeated over and over again, like the reader suddenly forgot what you said 5 sentences ago. Then you want to keep yourself from falling in love because you are afraid of losing yourself like your mom did and that’s pretty much the main issue the entire book but then it all just occurred to you at the end with no prompting or event to trigger it that your mom was actually stronger than you thought and now it’s all suddenly okay? Yeah, not buying it. Sounds like some amateur FanFiction that was not only written but also edited poorly. Thumbs down, 1 star, do not collect $200. I wish I could get part of my day off back

Rocking Player is a second chance romance whose plot drew me in. Second chances, met on vacation but didn't exchange last names. The heroine leaves early for a family emergency, ends up pregnant in the midst of losing both of her parents, and they both search and don't find each other until she takes their son to a baseball game in which the hero is playing. Interesting? Very. Well executed? Not even sort of.

I didn't like this book because of the inconsistencies for our heroine's stated emotional needs and how she interacts with the hero. Our heroine is terrified of becoming a woman who submits to her husband's will and doesn't use her voice, which is how she initially perceives her own mother. That's fine and good in and of itself, but then we have our hero, who knows this and yet still pushes her. He doesn't push her into voicing her feelings and desires, but into making huge decisions (marriage, moving across the country, etc.). He keeps doing it, and she keeps taking it and no one acknowledges that this is the EXACT OPPOSITE relationship she has expressly stated she wants.
There also is zero discussion about how, while his parents seem delightful, he actually had a toxic childhood of his father pushing him into baseball. While he seems happy, he also seems to regret the level of ambition his father has on his behalf. It's all there on the page, and unacknowledged, even in the present. I have no interest in reading tales of toxic characters who perpetuate the behaviors that created misery in their pasts. While I can start that way, I need some character development to happen during the story and the only development that happened is that the heroine realized and acknowledged some of the reasons her mother was the way she was.

No. Just ... no. I honestly should have DNF'd this, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because it was that ludicrous. The writing was terrible, the characters were a hot mess, and I don't think the author has ever been to a baseball game in her life?? I'm so confused by so much that happened and I honestly am just ...I'm floored this is a real book.

Look, the idea was there, and the plot COULD have been good. This book needed a way better editor, if anything, because the transitions were awful, there were continuity errors every other page, and half the time I honestly didn't even know who was talking. The idea of being reunited after seven years and finding out the father of your kid was an MLB player was super intriguing, and it's what had me hooked (honestly I read a blurb on IG so I was teased with this book, but that blurb was probably the only decent part). Once I saw the cover, I should have known, but I'm trying to be more open minded.

That backfired.

Long story short, this book was terrible. The two main characters were honestly awful, the 6-year-old boy read more like a teenager, the baseball scenes were so absurdly inaccurate I was dying inside, and I just ... it was all ludicrous. Absolutely bananas. Do yourself a favor and find a better sports romance. I can recommend at least 15 I wish I had revisited instead.

I can’t imagine what Georgiana (Georgie) went through when her father passed away and her mother being sick and finding out she was pregnant. She had to leave Michael in the Bahamas without even finding out his last name. What was even more shocking was when Georgie took her six year old son to a baseball game in Pittsburgh where she lives and there is Michael on the field for the other team. What a shock to Michael when he sees Jeremy and Jeremy looks just like Michael’s father. I was glad that Michael was happy to find Georgie and even more happy to find out he has a son. Georgie is a great mother and wants the best for her son. But Georgie doesn’t want to be so in love with a man that she forgets about herself. The two have some issues to work through. I liked the book and encourage you to read it.

All I can say is WOW...

And not in a good way. The story was hard to follow and some of the phrasings and Sentences seemed odd. There definitely needed to be more editing. And less repeating of the same info. The characters seemed 2 dimensional and stilted at times. It was a difficult book to read.

Zero steam, almost too clean second chance romance. Yes the author uses the word cock but skips over the intimate stuff. Add to the the terrible editing and conversation styling and it’s two thumbs way down for me . 👎👎

Love it leave it

This book has the potential to be more, a lot more. The characters could developed more and less juvenile sounding. Settings, and details matter this book lacks a lot of that. I wanted to love this book, I'm not sure I even liked it.

Rocking Player
Michael and Georgiana
This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, and I really struggled to finish it.
I loved the blurb, secret baby/child is one of my favorite tropes. Unfortunately this one fell short for me.
They met on vacation, amazing fling, she’s summoned home because her father is ill. No last names, no contact information exchanged. Her father dies (cancer, heart attack? both are mentioned so I’m not sure) her mother dies shortly after of a broken heart? She couldn’t go on living without him. At their mother’s funeral, Georgie and her five sisters, along with her many cousins who are like siblings, make a pact to never fall in love and get married. They don’t want to watch themselves waste away like their mother pining for their lost love.
I’m not sure I’ve ever read a book the the two main characters were so selfish and close minded, and were constantly contradicting themselves.
Georgie was a great mom, I’ll give her that, her son was always her priority. She did nothing without thinking of him first. But she was so dead set against falling in love and becoming her mother that she pushed men away. But she admits to herself over and over how much she loves Michael. She’s willing to marry him as long as it’s considered a marriage of convenience, and not for love. She needs the health insurance he can provide. He needs his new family to clean up his reputation.
Michael was ecstatic when he finally found the woman he’s been obsessed with for the last seven years in the stands at his game, and all in with his new son. But he was hyper focused on his new contract. He had to get the biggest deal he could to justify just how good he was. He was always saying his only loyalty was to the paycheck. And his new found family was sure to bump up that payday. And if it made Georgie happy, he would have health insurance added into the contract. His team and teammates meant nothing to him.
I had a hard time believing that both of them stayed celibate for seven years hoping for a reunion.
And their son, Jeremy read more like a pre-teen than the six year old he was supposed to be.
This book read like a short story.
Everything happens so fast. One minute they are meeting at the game, then they are rushing to Vegas for a quickie wedding, then off to Tulsa so he can make his game. The it’s time to negotiate Michael’s new contract, the big break up, then the make up. I think the whole story takes place over several days. It felt rushed and unfinished.
You have to sign up for the authors newsletter to get the epilogue. (Not a fan of that at all)
There were lots of editing issues, and the story was, at times hard to read. You never knew who was speaking, the transitions between scenes were not clear.
Amazon lists it as being 262 print pages, (I read the kindle version) it ended at 90%, and then you get the first chapter of the next book.
Dual points of view.
No cheating.
Sex is almost non-existent on page. Lots of kissing, touching. But no graphic sex scenes.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Rocking Player by Victoria Pinder is a second chance romance. It's the second book in the Steel series and it's about Georgianna and
Michael.

Georgianna Steele after a vacation romance in the Bahamas became a single mom. She didn't know much about the guy so she couldn't find him to
let him know about the baby. Almost seven years later she met him again at a baseball game her son begged her to take him. Michael Irons
have finally found the woman who had stolen his heart and gained a son at the same time. Georgianna and her sisters were against love
because of their mother so Michael needed to find another solution to prove to her that they belonged together. Eventually, he made her
a proposal for a loveless marriage that would ensure their kid's health insurance and great love life for them. The only issue with
her that was the possibility of moving and losing herself. In the end, Jeremy's wish had come true, his mom got married and they lived
happily together.

It's a sweet story with no drama, easy to follow, and fall in love. It has a simple storyline that gets straight to the romantic aspect.
The sole focus is the main characters and their short journey to become a family. There is nothing else to distract you. I liked how
they quickly fell into a routine and they managed to pick up their relationship from where they left off. The characters were sweet with nice chemistry. Jeremy was my favorite, he had cute childish moments and some that he acted more mature.

In conclusion, Rocking Player is a good romance book that I highly recommend to everyone. I will rate it with four stars.

second chance

This book was good with the romance and instalove theme. The couple had a one night stand and exchanged no private info, but without Michael knowing, about the little gift that Georgie took home with her. They had a total attraction to each other, and had completely missed each other all those years that they were living their separate lives. Michael is a professional baseball player, and had lived the life of a bachelor, but after meeting Georgie, his priorities had changed. While Georgie was raising their son, and working hard to make ends meet.
Georgie’s son is paying in a little league, and wants his mom to take him to a real baseball game.
Georgie takes Jeremy to a game, and realizes that Jeremy’s dad, Michael, is playing out in the field. He sees her and approaches her, and realizes his features are the same as the son sitting by Georgie. He is still attracted to Georgie, and they need to talk.
Michael takes Georgie on a date, and a slow relationship develops between them. He is ready to move the relationship faster, but Georgie’s introvert mother had left all her children with some trauma, so Georgie is scared to commit to Michael. Eventually he breaks her resistance down and the marry.
Shortly after the marriage, complications occur between the couple, because of Michael’s job offers, and they break up temporarily. Michael’s job offer is changed to a more convenient location for the couple and they reunite. After everything is reconciled, the couple finally obtain their HEA.

Note to self: read reviews before downloading. This book could have been so good, but fell so flat. Like below the sea level. The writing was horrible with editing errors and the most unrealistic plot line. The entire book took place over maybe 10 days. TEN DAYS. I can’t even decide on a piece of furniture in that amount of time. The h story line was no where near sad or relatable. She couldn’t commit because her mother was a wallflower her whole life. Like wow. Really?? And it was brought up SO MANY TIMES. She made a pact with her siblings to never marry because her mom wanted to die after her dad passed away. Just eye rolling all over here. And can we talk about how realistically mlb players act at actual MLB games? They are no where near the stands to even bump fists with fans but you’re going to tell me he discovers her in the stands and walks up to her minutes later??? And no one rushes him and security doesn’t flip at the “best player” in the league is now in the stands?? They’ve been searching for each other the last 7 years after a drunken rump in the Bahamas?!! Every turn of the page I literally whispered to myself “Wow, this book is so bad.” I prevailed and finished in hopes of maybe some part being good, but it was not. If you value actual storylines and good books don’t read this.

It’s the summer of 2020. It’s the summer baseball was canceled. I needed me some baseball!!! So, I picked up Rocking Player. I mean it sounded like a quick, fun read. It was both of those things. It was also pretty funny at times.

Georgie and Michael met on a Bahama’s vacay seven years prior to the opening of Rocking Player. To say they had an instant connection would be a huge understatement. Their time there is told in flashbacks. Neither one gave the other their last name so when Georgie found out she was pregnant she didn’t know how to contact Michael. She’s been doing the single mom thing for six years. Jeremy, her son, has discovered baseball and it’s his life. He finally talks Georgie into taking him to a Pirates game. When the players take the field Georgie finds out Michael’s last name…..

The story is predictable and low drama. The connection between Georgie and Michael picks up right where it left off seven years ago. Rocking Player has some editing issues, but surprisingly enough they didn’t annoy me as much as those things usually do. I guess I was focused on baseball. Anyway, this isn’t a story that is going to rock your world, but it’s fun for a quick summer read.

Sweet couple. It was pretty much fantasy because MLB players from opposing teams don't walk up into the stands just as the game is to start to talk to a woman he hadn't seen in seven years....it could happen, but it's nuts.

It seems they can marry within the week. Wow. But then they have problems and those seven years are now making them aware their dreams might be different. Well, more him as she only cares about her son, instead of a career.

My taking stars off review was for the continued phrase and mantra of him to make his goal of $30 for ten years. Author even forces it. A proper editing would of eliminated the need to repeat this.

Also, the team mate stomps off and then reappears and it gets confusing and seems as if it's a teammate named Rodgers. Again, need for better editing.

The main characters were great. The grandparents were good, if a bit wooden.

Overall, I read it kind of annoyed at the reasons above so it was not enjoyable enough to recommend. I do like the bones of the story so I'll let you decide.

Georgie and Michael

Georgie and Michael met 7 years ago in the Bahamas and had a wonderful two weeks until she had to leave suddenly and ghosted him. Now seven years later and she takes her son to a Sooners/Pirates baseball game after her sister Indigo gets them free tickets near the Sooners dugout. The next thing Georgie knows is the one man she has been trying to find for the last seven years is on the jumbotron. Jeremy is thrilled as he is one of his favorite players! Michael Irons! She tries to force her son into leaving only for Michael to block her way! Looks like she wasn't the only one trying to find someone. What happened seven years ago to make her leave? Why didn't they know each other's last names? How will Michael react now that he sees what she hasn't been able to tell him about? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Victoria Pinder. You wont want to put it down till the last word!

quick read

Vacation fling, neither can forget. Great idea, a pro athlete pining over the 1 who disappeared for 7 years and he didn’t hire a
PI to find her. She had a family emergency, didn’t try to find the father of her child. When they accidentally meet in the most unrealistic way, both are totally ok to pick up like nothing when wrong, no misgivings, within 24 hours get married and HEA.
This was immaturely written, over simplistic, poorly researched - players don’t just waltz in the crowd, visiting players don’t individually rent cars-there’s a team bus, cell phone aren’t on the playing field, never met an athlete who refers to a game as at work.
Single mother who only works part time, constant repeat of we need insurance, blind judgment of mothers anxiety is a good look, in fact Georgie is a disappointing heroine. Michael is obsessed to make to biggest contract, generally doesn’t feel like a good teammate.

This story had potential but the writing was just not it. The dialogue was incredibly awkward and stilted. It needed probably 3 more rounds of editing to fix all the times that dialogue was attributed to the wrong character or I had to reread conversations several times to figure out who was talking. Everything was “He said this,” “she said that” and it was just uncomfortable to read. It was so repetitive and underdeveloped.

Also, Michael is in another city with his baseball team so why does he have a rental car? Why isn’t he on the team bus and why does he have an entire day without having to check in with his coach? How does the entire stadium immediately know that Jeremy is his son without anyone saying anything?? There are so many plot holes I can’t even believe I actually read this entire book. I almost DNF’d it so many times.

What did I just read?

A lot of the time the story didn't make sense. One moment her mom was the most amazing mom and the next she was an introvert who was abused and died of heartbreak.

I also wonder if the author knows anything about kids. Her son was supposed to be six, but she talked to him like he was a teenager. He even sounded like a teenager. Never once in this story did he call Michael his dad. It almost felt like it wasn't his child.
Also, these two met eachother during a vacation and the few days they were together made them monogamous to eachother even though neither actually knew who the other was. When they meet up again, they get married a few days later. He was conceited and she was just stupid.
Its one of those books you kind of skim though. The author had a great idea, it was just poorly executed.

This is the second book in the Steel Series. If you like second chance romances you'll enjoy this story. Georgie and Michael were very attracted to each other and had a steamy relationship before he had to leave town. After he left she found out she was pregnant but was unable to contact him since she did not know his full name. Fate brings them back together when she takes their son to watch a ball game. Michael looks at her son and everything 'clicks'. Some drama and twists but the chemistry is still there. No spoiler here but this is a cute story that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to review. The characters are well developed and likable. The book has a good flow and is a quick read.

Surprise, Surprise….

Nope, Michael doesn’t have a clue that he’s a dad … that is until he runs out onto that baseball field, glances up to the stands and sees HIS eyes staring down.

Instant fatherhood, instant family. But is anything in life really instant? Is life ever easy? There will be compromise, there will be catching up, there will be memories remembered and memories that never were, because how can a six year vacuum of not knowing, produce memories? Can new memories made make up for that loss?

This is a stand alone and a good second book to a new series. Enjoy. I know I did. I received a copy of this book and am giving my honest thoughts. I’ve read and enjoyed many books this author has written and this one did not disappoint.

Georgina is a single mum to Jeremy after a vacation romance and when she takes him to a game she gets the shock of her life. Michael Irons is a short stop for the Sooners and has never forgot Georgina, when he sees her in the crowd he is in shock as he realises that he has a son that he didn't know about. Will Georgina and Michael get a second chance and be a family for Jeremy or will there be heartbreak all around. Wow I love this book and new series by Victoria Linder. This is a real page turner and so addictive. Victoria is an amazing author and talented writer and I have read every single book that she has written. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

Secret child romance/ second chance. Book was very rushed

“Mom, turn around,” Jeremy said as his eyes widened. My skin had goosebumps it hadn’t had in a long time. “Why?” He pointed and said like he couldn’t quite breathe, “It’s Michael Irons, the shortstop.” I turned around and stared into the stormy blue eyes of Michael, Jeremy’s father. “I never thought I’d see you again.”

A fucking son. One that looked exactly like my dad, with those bright blue eyes that captured my attention. This was like a dream, or nightmare, that roared to life in my work hours. I was absolutely sure and didn’t need to be told I had a son. That weekend in the Bahamas after my rookie year had been unforgettable because of Georgie.

Another great book in the new Steel series from Victoria Pinder. Georgiana is raising her son, Jeremy, and being surrogate mom to most of her sisters and cousins when she goes to a baseball game that changes her life. She is reunited with Michael Irons, rising baseball player, who just happens to be the father of her son. Reunited with his newfound family, Michael has no intention of letting go of the woman he has been unable to forget in seven years. These two must learn compromise is the way to a happy marriage to get their HEA. Wonderful book, characters and storyline. I finished in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of the book.
