The Fae enslaved my son. Now I’m their prisoner as well.
This crazy rescue attempt was our one and only chance to get Jace back, not to mention stopping the Fae plot to take total control of the Earth. Some chance—it took less than an hour for our cover to be blown. Now nothing stands in the way of the Unseelie’s plan to install a ruling class of brainwashed magical children so they can move the Fae Court from Dhuinne to the human realm.
My only allies are three vampires and a Fae traitor who may or may not be trustworthy. Assuming I can get out of this mess, I’ll need more than a ragtag crew of supernatural rejects to salvage the situation.
Humanity has always been hopelessly outclassed in the war between the realms. But if we want to save our world, it’s time to step up. Magic isn’t just the purview of eccentrics and the gullible. It’s real, and some humans have it. Now we need to use it, or we’ll lose everything that makes us what we are.
The Fae see us as slaves. They’re about to learn that slaves can rise up.

Vampire Bound is a new urban fantasy romance series by R. A. Steffan, set in the same world as the bestselling series The Last Vampire. Download the final book today, and enter a world shared by humans, fae, demons, and vampires. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will either be the world’s downfall—or its salvation.
USA Today bestselling author R. A. Steffan lives in New Mexico, where the sunsets paint the mountains purple, and roadrunners roam the desert endlessly in search of their coyote victims. When she’s not busy writing stories about people loving each other in all sorts of different and interesting ways, she can be found taking care of her small menagerie of critters.
A rebel to the core, she is currently sticking it to the man by illegally harvesting graywater from the kitchen and bathroom sinks to water trees outside. This fearless disregard for societal norms extends to her writing, as well. There, you will find polyamory along with straight, gay, bisexual, and non-gender conforming love of all flavors. You will also find families of choice, profound friendships, adventure, danger, and good triumphing over evil.
That, and sex. Lots of sex. Most of which is not the vanilla variety.
Woo-hoo! The first draft of Vampire Bound 4 is IN THE CAN!
Now it gets shipped off to my Ace Editor Maurita in Missouri for a liberal application of the Red Pen of Doom. Then back to me for polishing and afterwards, a final proofread.
I'm so pleased to have this series wrapped up in plenty of time for its release date on December 1st! Being a few weeks ahead means there's time to get the audiobook recorded so everything is available at the same time.
(Well, okay. Unless things improve, Audible probably WON'T have it up since the approval queue is running weeks to months behind. But you'll be able to get the audiobook at a deep discount by buying direct from me and listening on either the free Soundwise or BookFunnel apps.)
My review is written after listening to the audiobook via BookFunnel having listened to the first three books via Audible but as it's not available on that platform a listeners gotta do what a listeners gotta do!
This is the final instalment in this wonderful Vampire Bound series, a series I highly recommend. It brings Vonnie and Guthrie's story to a satisfactory conclusion and ties up so many loose ends. The story picks up from where the last book ended on that major cliffhanger. It covers so much ground as Vonnie, Guthrie, Zorah and Rans with the help of Albigard and Edward try to figure out how to defeat the plans of the Fae who have kidnapped the human adept children.
In this book Vonnie and Guthries' relationship finally takes the next step, their relationship has been a slow build but I think any listener will be happy to learn what they decide to do about it. Their relationship is not all hot and heavy, it moves slowly with each of them respecting the other's boundaries and it's all the better for that.
I don't want to give any spoilers but what I will say is that the climax of the story was definitely exciting and well worth the wait. But can they and their allies succeed and defeat the fae? Will they get all the children back and if they do will they be all right?
The narration of this book as with the rest of this series is beautifully done by Gwendolyn Druyor who knows each of these characters so well and brings them to life beautifully.
Now having listened to the conclusion of Vonnie and Guthrie's story, having been so engrossed in their world I would normally be wondering what to listen to next but for once I know exactly what comes next for me it's the new series the Forsaken Fae, a spin-off of this series and The Last Vampire series, which is all about Len and Albigard two characters fans of these series will know so well.
This review is written voluntarily and contains only my personal opinions.
I had a great time reading this book! As usual. I would recommend this series to my friends and family. Now I can't wait for the next series. I love that the people from past books are involved too.
A well written conclusion to this spin off from The Last Vampire. The action certainly reaches a crescendo in this episode and emotions have reached fever pitch. Not wanting to give too much of the story away, let me say this is a great paranormal series along with it's preceding series and I would recommend to any fan of this genre. I would also recommend reading both series in order starting with The Last Vampire. R.A. Stephan manages to bring both humour and emotion to the story and her characters are 3 dimentional and believable. I am happy to see that we haven't seen the last of our crew as we have Forsaken Fae to look forward to. Great series deserving of 5 full stars.
Another great story, full of tension, love and humour. They worked as a team to beat the fae and save the children. Those fae are nasty pieces of work, except albigard of course, who would have thought they'd ever be able to beat the fae, they are unbeatable, or are they?
I only give this book three stars because all my favorite characters from the previous series were there to help "Vonnie save the world". Really.... her Attitude comes off as this bad ass don't mess with my child or am going to release this crazy magical mama bear on you, but she can't back it up. She needs the help but gets pissed off when the help she receives isn't what she approves of. And apparently she is a Analytical genius, coming with Strategies and attack plans that centuries old Vampires, Fae and Demon-Bound butler's never even considered as something that might work. RIGHT.....Yeah... No, I don't like Vonnie. The pairing of her and Leonides as a couple is just boring and wrong. It feels forced. And that's too bad because I really like Leonides. It took all I had to get through these four books, just to get to Albigard and Len's story. I liked Len from the previous series. Plus Albigard and Rensley are my two favorite characters.
Ok so here I am, Ms I don't read series. So I promise to let you know my thoughts if I did. Well go for it. Winter is here so good fireplace, evening in read. Start with the first series. I am not sure I want to tattle the Fae's story right now but if and when I do I will let you know. Evil does exist in all forms and good folks always there to right their wrongs. I hope to find my own Fae since I hate airports and present packed sardine tins. Happy reading.
This book shows how Vonnie's son is rescued and a little bit about what his life after being kidnapped by the Fae is going to be like. None of the characters are left out of this book, but I got the feeling that the war occupied the author much more than the characters but at this point in the game, that's to be expected.
And for the record, Edward is STILL my favorite character!!! :)
At times, the story lagged and at other times it seemed to go by too fast. I'm not sure if this is a plus or minus for this book. :)
Hmm. Drags a lot in the middle, and ending is just ok.
Loved the first books but this was boring. She got on my nerves constantly pushing Leo away. There were some really sweet scenes between them though. It leaves s lot of unanswered questions yet again and I’ve no interest in buying the next book to find out. I’m just going to pretend it was the end and everyone lived happily ever after.
I have stumbled across The Last Vampire first book by accident and fell under its spell. Guthrie was that side character that you just couldn’t help to love. I’m so happy with his Vampire Bound series and how it ended. Can’t wait to read about Albigard and see how everything turned out for him.
a solid book i liked it. i forgot to review it but it was a satisfying series, liked it a lot. very excited to read forsaken fae (i'm already halfway thru the first book, lol !!). I always loved Guthrie so I liked seeing more of him in this series. Vonnie is an annoying main character, much like Zorah, but i ended up loving her as well. <3
Vonnie & Leo’s story is a wild ride from start to finish. Edward and the Vamps bring dimension. There is a lot of craziness and violence. Bromance, romance & sexual tension are woven into the conflict seamlessly. If anything, it may make you question reality as you enjoy the world RA Stefan has conjured.
I loved Zorah and Rans story but Vampire bound didn't grab me. I found Jace and Vonnie annoying and needy. Guthrie and Edward are great but we were introduced to them in the first series. Just not for me.
I liked the ending of this series but if feels kind of rushed for one and it would have benefited from some different perspectives, especially at the end. All over all it was a good ending for this series and I enjoyed reading it.
Would have liked a little of Leonidas p.o.v and while I enjoyed the narration Vonnie always seemed to be whining crying or on the verge. Will check out the Last Vampire though.
This is the last book with vonnie and leo kind of all characters from book one and on shows up often. Looks like Len finally gets his love story up next
Vonnie and Leo's journey for more and more dangerous but the gate of the world is in the balance! Loved it, fast paced and thrilling. Highly recommended!
Quick read. Likable characters. Vonnie and friends need to devise a way to rescue her son and the other children that have been kidnapped by the Fae. There's plenty of scheming and a plan is finally agreed upon. She and Guthrie explore their mutual attraction.
The last instalment in the Vampire Bound series gave us a satisfying conclusion to Vonnie and Guthrie's story while also leaving me SUPER hungry and excited about Forsaken Fae, the new spin-off staring Len and Albigard out in 2021. I don't want to give too much away about what happens in this book, but one of the things I loved about this spin-off is how different the relationship between Vonnie and Guthrie felt to that of Zorah and Rans, the couple at the heart of the Last Vampire series. I think this is the mark of a great writer there: when they create a world that not every story (love story, especially) feels like a recycle of the last one, but where every person has a distinct personality and behaves accordingly. Yeey for couples who cuddle and enjoy each other's company without having sex ALL the time. Yeey for couples who respects each other's boundaries. We need more of that in paranormal romance stories. Anyway, go preorder Forsaken Fae now, I have a feeling this one will be the best series yet!
