Rate this book
I’m certain If your heart could sing me a song it would leave me in awe As a child and a kid to a mature adult What you’ve accomplished, seen, and learn from your dreams Can only be digested through song So to break the ice I'll sing first Take a seat Pour a drink And as SOARH plays the strings you can sing along -edú

I'm really picky about things i love, as my interests have been refined and curated over the years. That includes my taste for poetry, after going through a period of mass poetry obsession/consumption in my teens. I say all that to say that this book of poems is different than most in a good waym and me saying i loved it means alot as my bar for this genre is pretty high. Easy to read, but layered, complex and full of metaphor, allegory, and honesty. As an art lover the art by Ezgi Karaati accompanying every poem was also super powerful.

In this body of work, the author faces and documents feelings of heartbreak, navigating mental health struggles, depression, sadness, but also all encompassing admiration, love, fixation and musing. Will probably read this again and again.

It captures the pain of loving someone and beign hurt immaculately, but it also talks about leaving with that pain and not closing off your heart to others.
