After releasing the first book, Jimmy Tudeski assumed the project was over, but due to popular demand and after being nominated for a small comedy award in somewhere like Outer Mongolia, he's back with a second instalment.
You can expect a lot more confusing rants, a lot more of his artist doodles, where we've asked him to once again deliver his stand up comedy routine inside a book, then be even more controversial with it. In this one he fights back against bad reviewers, lets a friend randomly interview him, does more with astrology in his own special way, then goes head to head with bra cup sizes and Santa Claus.
A book like no other, where Jimmy once again risks it all, simply to entertain his readers the only way he knows how. He said it couldn't be done, he said he didn't have enough material for a second book, yet here it is, proving it's not just his comedy that goes wrong.
The boy from Battersea and the former redcoat from Butlins is back! More chaotic opinions, short stories, theories and hilarious stand up from our favourite humble author Jimmy Tudeski, who doesn't believe he has the confidence to speak up or do comedy, then delivers an credible book yet AGAIN that has you smiling at every page turn.
After reading the first book in this series, I was in no doubt about purchasing this one and getting started on it and what can I say now it's over? It was well worth that wait!!! I don't know what it is about this man, but it seems he puts everything on the line just to write his humour for us, then bringing in a friend to interview him, then her taking over the writing of the book, totally hilarious. Highly recommended read again, but you do need a wicked sense of humour to read the thing and you will need to brace yourself for the constant surprises inside.
The first book told the comedian's own story, this one more focused on his opinion of the world. To quote... “How long does it take to recover from a sex addiction? Saying that, what is a sex addiction anyway? I mean, I get a gambling or drink addiction could lead to bigger problems in life if you continue to do it, but how can sex addiction lead you anywhere but having more fun and more sex in life? Even if I was a recovering sex addict, would this actually bother me? Fuck yeah it would, because I wouldn't want to be in recovery and having less fucking sex, would I?” Although it sounds crazy, and I know sex addiction is a real issue for some people, he does have a point, right? This is what this writer does. He takes something, he gives his comical opinion, then he turns it on its head to make it sound even funnier and question it. Enjoyable, entertaining, not a book to read if you're into fiction.
I thought he said it all in the first book, but it seemed this British comedian had something else to say, and boy didn't he say it. His review on reviewers chapter, amazing funny. His take on musical genre, incredibly witty. Oh, and his little chapter on racism. Eye opening, honest and brave. I said it took a brave man to write the first book, but wow, this took extreme courage and he pulled it off perfectly in my opinion. "Don't see colour, only see the possibility of a beautiful human-being standing in front of you" I dreed to think what he will say and write about if there's a third book, but I certainly like positivity and his wit.
This takes on the same concept, but the first book was so much better than this one. It's as though he wanted to take the success of his first book (which was incredibly funny) yet he didn't have anything else left to say. Don't get me wrong, there are some very funny bits inside this one too, but it didn't have the same pull. The perfect example would be - Grown Ups 1 and Grown Ups 55, if they kept making them.
I quite enjoyed the first comedian gone wrong book, so I thought I would give this one a try also. Same kind of comedy, plenty of witty and rude bits, LOVED the bra size and breast section. Nothing to these books really, just a lot of fun. I guess they are what you pay for, a stand up comedian doing his thing, worth the money, wouldn't really watch or read it again.
The first book in the series was hilarious, this one even better for me. A Stand up comedian doing his show through a book, where one subject he talks about jumps to another one, linking perfectly through comedy. The Christmas part for me was the funniest and his take on music and instruments, hilarious.
Jimmy continues on his stand up tour in this one and he's just as hilarious as he was the first time around. I loved his comparison between celebrity, porn star and star signs, loved what he did with breast size. Basically, he's the comedian not scared to cover anything, yet tries his best not to offend anyone. Pleasure to read, very very funny.
What other author could get away with calling Santa a pervert, talk about breast size and not make it sound sexist, then do a whole chapter on star signs, yet mix it up with porn stars? Why this man isn't already on stage is a shocker to me. Comedy brilliance!!
Ever so gentle and diplomatic Jimmy Tudeski is at it again, delivering hilarious one liners, long rants and topical debates. Christmas, bra sizes, music, even racism - Is there nothing this guy won't talk openly about? He's the fearless comedian with a very sensitive side.
A follow up to his first memoir, where stand up comedian Jimmy Tudeski tries to deliver another stage show inside a book. More gags, more funny stories, more controversial jokes that will keep you entertained and smiling.
How isn't this guy up on stage selling millions of tickets for live shows? He stands up for feminism, diversity and equality, then still makes me laugh constantly.
