This is the perfect study for 2021! With all the craziness we’ve been through and are still going through, we need to remember where our hope lies. Courageous Simplicity gently reminds us that we need to lay down all that’s bogging us down and pick up the peace that comes from abiding in Christ. Jesus is simple. We are the ones who make life complicated! Grab some friends and dig in to this study.

This Bible Study is so timely; so many people are in a place where they need the courage to choose simplicity. Approaching it from a Biblical view is what makes this book applicable. I would also say that its a Bible study that is good for beginners or people who have done a dozen studies.

Courageous Simplicity is a 6-week study that’s written for women who are feeling too busy, tired, overworked and overwhelmed to add anything to their calendars. It’s a plea to set aside all of the busyness that we’ve filled our lives with and an invitation to sit at the feet of Jesus. For those of us who long to turn our burdens over to Him yet don’t quite know how, it’s an exploration of the passages in Scripture that teach us how to cast our cares and anxieties upon Him, a map and compass to the places in Scripture where we can rest and abide in peaceful pastures with Him, and a guide to simpler living through the application of biblical principles.

While it’s structured like a traditional Bible study, with 5 days of readings and questions to be completed over a 6 week period, I’m finding it much more useful to go through the study as a quiet time journaling and reflection tool and letting the words of Scripture sink deep into my parched soul.

Courageous Simplicity speaks to my heart. Chances are good that it will speak to your heart too! I highly recommend this study.

Such a blessing to read through this book and study the scriptures notes. This book offered me the permission within myself to take care of myself and my family and to nurture my walk with Jesus above all else. Living in simplicity is living in fulfillment.

Such a great read!

We live in a busy, hurry up world, where our value comes from how much we can cram into a day. However, God calls us to a different way of living. This is outlined in the newest Bible study from (in)Courage, Courageous Simplicity: Abide in the Simple Abundance of Jesus. This six week study is broken down into five sessions per week, and each session is about five pages. While the shorter length makes the sessions manageable, this study will make you think. I loved that it had me in my Bible daily! Each session begins with a personal story from one of the authors, and ends with a heartfelt prayer. The lessons are filled with personal application, and you will feel Jesus begin to transform your life as you soak in the material and scripture listed in the study. You will walk through the topics of simplicity, what drives us (and what should drive us), living in the present, being enough, living with open hands, and embracing peace.

Some meaningful quotes that stood out to me in this study included:

• “Simplicity isn’t really about where we live or what we do – it’s about Who we do life with.”
• “By trusting the Good Shepherd, we can experience the radical simplicity of peace and contentment and courage.”
• “Jesus doesn’t rise to our emotional frenzy. He gently reminds us to choose what’s better – Him.”
• “When we focus on Jesus, our simple tasks become extraordinary offerings.”
• “Living a life of simplicity invites us to see waiting not as something to be endured but as something sacred to be enjoyed.”
• “Protecting your new commitment to living simply starts by coming with your whole self, quiet before the Lord each day.”

I would recommend this study for any woman, no matter what stage of life she finds herself in. We all strive so hard to prove our worth, when really, our worth is in Christ alone. Only he has the power to transform our lives and continue to shape us to be more like him each day. Pick up a copy of this study, and begin to live a life of courageous simplicity, relying solely on him, today!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Courageous Simplicity is the first in a series teaching about courage. It is a six-week study that takes you through short insightful readings to thoughtful questions five days each week. They don’t take long to complete. You identify simple changes needed in your own life that keep you from living a simple, connected, abundant, fulfilled life that Jesus teaches, even during your hectic, demanding schedule, as He did, also.

I don’t always feel courageous but stressed and worn out. I hold myself back, not meaning to, not realizing what I’m doing that is negatively impacting how I want to live. It sounds simple to correct. Right? Well, it’s not. At least, not for me. I think of great things that define what having courage is all about, all of which I don’t fit the mold in my mind. But, that is not the courage discussed here. There are different types. This is one of them. In the simple actions we take, we find the courage to live the abundant and simple life Jesus teaches and embodies. That is what He wants for us, and that is what we can have.

If you are worn down and stressed from the demands of work, life, and “expectations” placed on you or want to instill more courage in your own life, this study will help.

Tip: When I’m answering the questions, I find using the Bible Gateway app on my phone useful to compare scriptures quickly. I have many highlights and notes in the margins of this book to reference later, which I don’t want to forget.

Courageous Simplicity is exactly what I needed during this season of life (stay at home mamahood during a global pandemic). It lives up to its title, as it is a SIMPLE Bible study, getting me into different books of the Bible and helping me to memorize Scripture verses that are relevant to my life. As a stay at home mom of a spirited 1.5 year old son, I am BUSY, he is BUSY, we both need rest. This study allows me to take just a few minutes for myself during his nap time or before he wakes up for the day to remind me about the Courageous Simplicity offered to us by resting in God’s presence. I love the format of each day- a Scripture passage to ponder; a personal reflection/witness; reflection questions to ponder if I want to  (introduction reminds me these questions are optional and to answer the questions that God is calling me to answer); more Scripture passages to dig deeper; and ending with a reflective prayer to ponder the rest of the day. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a “simple and full life….and how Jesus meets us in it.” (quote taken from the introduction of this book)

Note: I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher as part of the book launch.

This is a great study to do on your own or with a group.

One of the things I really appreciated about the “Courageous Simplicity” Bible study from (in)courage is that it speaks volumes to one of the things I’m beginning to value more and more...living a simpler life. I don’t mean giving up on your responsibilities or slacking in other areas of your life. We should all work hard to accomplish what we are called to do, but we also have a responsibility to ourselves...to rest, to heal, to be better equipped to do those things we are meant to do.

“[...] through this health issue, God was trying to get my attention. God was asking me to lead a simpler life by doing the hardest thing I had never considered before: I needed to let go of the burdens and responsibilities I could carry no longer, and I needed to trust that he would take care of me.” – Bonnie Gray

One of my favorite quotes is from Week 4 Day 1:
“God is telling us that the most significant role we can play is to pray for our world and work toward making it thrive.”

Note: I received an advance reader copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my review.

This book is so on time for so many, especially this year. But honestly, I think it was needed to bring peace and calm so far before this year :)

Our hustle and bustles of the holidays, the jumping through the hoops of our To-Do Lists... our hearts and soul long for peace. This beautifully scripted book sings the calm we call for.

The prayer reflections have been a helpful blessing for me. The prayers align with exactly how my heart feels :) The reflections also help me to refocus just on Jesus to see Him and only Him and help me sink back into that peace. I love it!

The beauty in this book, feels like a hug and warm hand that guides in our journey back to peace. The pages are filled with compassion and words of grace and love, that meet us right where we are.
It is a good read, a great support and a wonderful gift.

A big step toward peace is as easy as Courageous Simplicity. Open the book and your heart and be ready for a calm that surrounds your heart and brings calm...peace.

I was so excited to start this study. I am using it for personal use, however due to the formatting it would be great for group use as well. It's a 6 week (5 days a week) study; each week has a topic and each particular day has its own theme that repeats in reference to the subject.

I love a good guided bible study and this is one of the best I've found. Each day starts with a devotional style introduction, and is followed by reading, and related questions, as well as experience based questions that not only help you understand the reading but also practical application.

On average the days are approx 7 pages, some longer and some shorter. I've had days where I do multiple in a row, and other days where I stop halfway through the day and don't pick it up for a few more.

God's word NEVER returns void... This study has not only rocked my world, but been a spring of living water that I have been able to steward to others ❤️

We live in a more is more culture. The idea of simplifying our lives sounds good, but it is not always easy to follow through on.

(in)courage has a new Bible study. Courageous Simplicity will take you through six weeks of study that revolves around Scripture, deeper reflection, and guided questions that will lead you to a life of abundance in Jesus.

This is the perfect study to begin your 2021 and help you release the overwhelm of 2020. When I think of giving up "things", ideals, or going against the grain, I find myself shaking in my boots. We all want to fit in. This study shows you how to take that first step and beyond toward freedom in Christ.

Courageous Simplicity will lead you on a journey of discovering abundance in Christ. We all want to know we are "enough" and (in)courage is willing to show us how. I highly recommend this study.

As a working mom, the short lessons and deeply personal reflections on each Bible lessons are truly helpful . I can easily relate to the testimonies contained here too. The Biblical background that will take us digging deeper will point us back to Jesus as our only source of hope and strength to enable us to live with courageous simplicity.

The premise is simple, through studying God’s Word we are encouraged to live simply (as busy stay at home mom or career women) and grow courageously as women of the Word and women of faith...by “abiding in the simple abundance of Jesus”.

The whole study was well-thought, put together accordingly and a great reflection of every sort of walk every woman is currently on or looking to pursue.

To the writers and the publisher and to @incourage ...well done and glory be to God for this new project!

Courageously Simplicity is the first of the Courageous Bible Study series. This book will help you evaluate and examine your daily life so that you can let go of the everyday things and focus of the simplicity of loving And living for God. Spending too much time in social media (that’s my issue!)? Focusing on what someone else has and you don’t? Each chapter/day, you will read different stories that you will cross reference with His word and focus on prayer, letting go, and focusing on God. Some chapters hit me harder than others as I examined my own life and what I struggle with, but they were good reminders to let go of all the “stuff” and return to a simpler life. I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of this books launch team and receive early access to my copy of the book.

This Bible study is for such a time as this! With current world events, responsibilities piled on top of responsibilities, who doesn't need a little rest. This study helps us unpack the clutter that is keeping us from the One who said, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

You can do the study at your own pace or with a group. It will meet you where you are at. I highly recommend. "Pursing true simplicity is about pursuing Jesus." That was a "wow!" moment for me. Everything we do should bring us closer to sitting at the feet of Jesus.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a honest review. All opinions are my own.

One of my goals this year is to become more intentional with personal Bible study. Receiving this study came to me at the right time! It is a six-week Bible study but you can totally take your time if doing so individually. I live a busy life but if 2020 taught me anything, it was to take things day by day. So why not begin and end my day with Jesus and Courageous Simplicity Bible Study. What I am realizing is that it takes great courage to live simply in Jesus.

If you are looking for a great Bible study whether for personal time with the Lord or in a small group, then check this one out!

I’m working through this study right now with a group of ladies & we are all enjoying it, despite differences in circumstances, background, and life seasons. Each day’s study has been relatable, practical, applicable, and powerfully simple.
Yesterday’s topic was about “waiting” in Biblical terms & how God is working while we are waiting expectantly for Him to come through. This quote stood out: “Living a life of simplicity invites us to see waiting not as something to be endured but as something sacred to be enjoyed.”
This study encourages the reader to put first things first, and enjoy the peace and rest that God offers each of us.
I highly recommend this study.

I am going through the Courageous Simplicity Bible study right now and loving it! From the personal stories, the opportunity to look up scripture and places for reflection. The "homework" doesn't feel overwhelming and just like the study encourages, and because my life is demanding it right now, I am going through this slowly. I am finding that there is such benefit as I sit with the knowledge and understanding more and more of who Jesus is and apply His principles and teachings to my own life. This study will help you do that!

Oh this book! Everyday there is something that stirs my heart! What a great way to start a new habit this year—coffee, PB toast and God’s word. God is so faithful, it’s like this book was written for me at this specific time in history. Notes about identity and worth and finding peace in the midst of chaos and pain keep spinning in my heart and mind...and I’m only 1/2 way. I highly recommend it.

Loving it! The simplicity topic is perfect for right now, & so good that I've even underlined in the intro! This Bible study is just what I needed to encourage me to make changes.

An early fav quote is "We must focus on Him and courageously seek his wisdom as we remove unnecessary distractions and make difficult decisions about what to keep in our lives."

I'm not fully finished as it's a 6 week study that just released this month, so I'll update again soon, but I couldn't wait to say you should grab a friend and do this!

This study goes beyond “stuff” (though it does come up) when crafting the concept of simplicity and what it truly means to live simply. Stuff can be physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This study settles you and invites you to shed light on what is helping v. hindering you as you seek fulfillment- which is only found in God.

I plan and hope to visit this study regularly as it reminds me that God is enough, and His enough-ness He gives generously and unceasingly. Comparison cannot stand at His feet. No worldly measure of “made it” compares to His measure of peace and contentment.

Living in the middle of a remodel for 5 months and still many more to go brings thoughts of it’ll never end. Where to find peace? I had the pleasure of previewing for review Courageous Simplicity. Seeing how to slow down and simply focus on Him can bring peace and calmness to the rest of my world. Each chapter written from a transparent personal story and how God met them and brought his love. Simply written with Scripture, questions, and prayers that guide you in a real and closer walk with our Father God. A book to go through each year to reignite our walk with Him.

This book will change your life and grow your relationship with God, So well written and easy to read. The authors use practical examples to explain concepts. Good variety of Bible verses, real life examples and questions for thought. Includes areas for writing answers to questions or just thoughts. The book is organized by weeks and days. Unlike other books that talk about a concept, this book tells you how to make the change in realistic ways. This is a must read in my opinion.

I’m on week 4 of 6 of this Bible study. I’ve really enjoyed this Bible study. It can be hard to find one that you don’t need a video or in person event to attend to go along with the study. I love how I can do this independently. All you need is the Courageous Simplicity Bible study, Bible, and a pen!

This study has really shown me that I need to simplify things across my life! It is easy to relate to and I have gotten a lot out of this study.

What perfect timing! I have longed to rest in the simple things of Jesus. This year, Courageous Simplicity Bible Study is helping me learn to do just that! This six week Bible study is very easy to read and has so many gold nuggets of reflection. One of my favorites, "God wants to relieve your inner frazzle and replace it with His fullness and peace." Courageous Simplicity! The longing to simplify all areas of my life seemed so daunting. This study told story after story from the Old and New Testament of how God’s faithful servants lived a simple life devoted to God. Were they busy people with more on their to do list that seemed as endless as ours today? Of course they were. Yet they followed God’s direction and trusted Him to lead them in a life simply devoted to Him. This is a must read.
