He was looking for an escape. In her, he found his home.
Contractor and Handymen host Nick Zorn needs a change. He’s been feeling listless, and when his ex-girlfriend embarrasses him in a viral post by sharing private details of their sex life, he’s downright ready to escape. When an opportunity to reinvent his career arises, Nick takes it, even though it might mean the end of Handymen. However, the team has one more project to tackle together first—a struggling cat sanctuary in dire need of renovation.
When Nick arrives at the shelter and meets its owner, a lovely widow named Claire, his life is once more thrown into disarray. Neither of them is looking for a relationship, but the attraction is fierce. As he helps Claire fix her workplace, he realizes he wants to help her in other ways too. Their flirtation sizzles, flaring into a friends-with-benefits arrangement.
But the more time they spend together, the more reluctant these ‘friends’ become to fight their deepening connection, even though they know their inevitable break will devastate them…
Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of cyberbullying and harrassment, mentions of animal hoarding, bereavement and mourning. There are also references to male impotence and erectile dysfunction.

Rosanna Leo is a new to me author. As a result, I had no idea what to expect. I know I was not expecting a boy next door hero who was actually a dirty talker in disguise.
A Reluctant Attraction is the third and final book in Rosanna’s Handymen series. The series is about three brothers who own a construction company together and also star in a Toronto-based home renovation TV show, appropriately called Handymen. The story features the youngest Zorn brother Nick and his quest to deal with an embarrassing viral incident created by his ex-girlfriend. The woman who catches his eye is a 33-year-old widow named Claire Brewer.
Claire is the owner of The Haven Cat Sanctuary. The rescue was previously owned by Claire’s deceased husband Arthur and his family. When Claire married Arthur, she put off her hopes and dreams of being a photographer to join him in his passion. Due to lack of funding, the rescue is in dire need of maintenance and renovations. Unbeknownst to Claire, her older sister Mia contacts the Handymen show hoping against hope that they can help the rescue.
When Nick and the crew arrive at the rescue, he is immediately attracted to Claire. He’s also afraid of cats. Claire is reluctant to make any changes to the rescue. In fact, almost everything is just as it was when Arthur was alive. Over time, Nick and Claire form a friendship. While she’s attracted to Nick, she feels guilty, thinking that she’s being disloyal to Arthur. As their friendship progresses to romance, Nick’s bedroom performance issues come to light. I loved the way Claire helped him resolve the issue. She has this huge caring and giving heart that just shines through. In fact, when it comes to Nick, she’s a mama bear always ready to protect him.
There’s a lot going on with this story, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. I’m purposely leaving things out. I think readers of this series will be happy to see the relationships of Nick’s older brothers progress with their significant others. You see Nick come out of the self-imposed shell he put himself in. You see him gain confidence and attempt to stand on his own. Claire and Nick make such a good couple because they understand each other to their very souls. They have a playful back and forth banter, and their relationship is truly based on friendship and caring for each other. They know what the other needs and are willing to push them to make choices they would otherwise try not to make. However, they also know when to remain quiet and just be there to be supportive. Their bedroom escapades are playful, brazen, and all-consuming.
I liked that there was no drama with this story. This was really all about the characters. Outside of the journey of love that Rosanna takes readers on, my favorite part of the story was the way she showcased Claire’s grief. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where you get to see a character really shed their emotional despair. It’s been three years since Claire’s husband died. As in life, people like to tell her over and over that it’s time to move on. But you are really and truly the only person who can make that decision for yourself. Rosanna showed what kind of pressure grief puts on a person. She showed Claire’s metamorphosis from living in the land of grief and guilt to arriving in the land of the living, where nothing held her back. I’ll admit this part gets a little emotional. But that’s what makes it pure and real.

Rosanna Leo sits high upon the Canadian romance writer throne for me. I dare you to bring me a better Canadian romance author! Jokes on you though... You're providing me more Canadian authors to binge!
I LOVE the Handymen series. I can't get enough of it and they just make me all around happy. If you want a sweet, romance with a splash of comedy then you've found the right series.
Finally, Nick Zorn gets his own book! He meets the wonderful Claire, and as you can imagine they are quite smitten with each other. He had a rough go with his ex releasing some not so nice comments over social media, but he's still lovable! Claire also had a rough go of things, if we want to put it lightly. Her husband died years ago and she hasn't exactly gotten back on the saddle yet. Did I mention that she runs a cat sanctuary? It's almost like Rosanna Leo wondered what exact plot line would make me swoon and have my heart grow five sizes too big!
The book starts off with intrigue - there's a meeting coming for the boys and it's causing them anxiety. We find out what's happening shortly, but the initial draw in was fantastic! It really made me want to desperately cling to the book and find out what was going to happen next.
Then we get into the meat of the story. This book is sugar, spice and everything nice all wrapped up into one. We get amazing, romantic lines such as 'In her, he found his home." If that doesn't just make you want to scream like a young school girl going to her favourite boy bands' concert in delight, are you even reading the same book as me? It's so sugary sweet and undeniably adorable!
Side note: 1. "Decks with Nick" sounds like the goofiest show, but I wouldn't be surprised if HGTV had something like that. It's just a boring Marketing name that made me smirk slightly. It sounds like a contractor came up with it. The name they actually use is way better! 2. Nick + Cats = Uh oh. But don't worry, they won't hate him forever. He has a fairly interesting story about why him and cats don't get along. 3. Lazy contractors exist and they suck. Everyone has dealt with them. 4. "There was something sacrilegious about dismantling a shrine." This line.... This line hit home. I lost my Father years ago and my family coming in and moving/ruining his stuff felt like torture. I understood the feelings and emotions behind this line too much. That's why this book is so good though - it's relatable in all the right ways. 5. Following your dreams! Ah, it's romantic to think about the things we could do and the dreams we could follow. 6. Cats. Lots of cats. More cats. All about cats. I like it.
Overall, Nick and Claire are perfect for each other. I'm glad this book introduced me to them because they brought me lots of joy during some hard times. The awkward and funny comments between them felt so real and reminded me of the best romances around. They remind me why I love romance.
Five out of five stars.
I received this book for free from the author, Rosanna Leo, in exchange of an honest review.
A wonderful romance book about Nick and Claire. He is a celebrity DIY guy and she is a young widow after losing her husband 3 years previous. Nick and his brothers are doing a DIY show on her cat sanctuary that was her husband's, her sanctuary is in dire need of a make over and that's what the guys are great at. Nick is fresh out of a relationship that nearly destroyed his self esteem completely. Clair is only now trying to move forward after 3 lonely years without her beloved husband and get over the guilt of falling in love again with Nick as her now leading man. A lovely read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This man tho:: 😭“Still, I don’t like giving other people my burdens.” “Claire, it wasn’t a burden. And even if it was, I’d help you carry it. I’ve lifted a few loads in my time. My shoulders are strong.”😭💜
I feel like out of the three, this book was one of my favorites I really enjoyed reading Clarie & Nick's story soo much I would catch myself smiling and just like laughing out loud with some of their inner monologues cuz it was such horny vibes. Also Nick interacting with the cats, him and Claire's conversations, also I never realized how sexy consent was during sex until I was reading this book and how much I liked it, I totally recommend this book if you enjoy ⬇️ ☑️ Men in Flannel 🥵 ☑️ cats 🐈 ☑️ Lots of pussy 💦👅 licking ☑️Desk Sex ☑️Mental Health Awareness ☑️ Just lots of sweetness from Nick he's so supportive and just gah amazing.
ARC provided by the author in exchange for a review.
This entire series has been a pleasure to read. With A Reluctant Attraction it ends on a high with a great happy ending. One of the aspects I found endearing in this novel was the references to many real-life issues. Many of us I'm sure have dealt with at least one, if not more, but the author writes them realistically into the storyline honestly, but delicately as well. I don't want to spoil any of the book so I will be careful with details.
Nick has been going through a rough time the past months. In addition, he doesn't realized where he fits in life anymore. Both his brothers are happily married and beginning to start families. Will they still want to do the reality show they are famous for? What will happen with Nick if they don't? In this novel, Nick will grow as a character and a man. He will make life changing decisions and just maybe fall in love. When he meets Claire, there is an instant spark but Nick doesn't act on it for several reasons but mostly due to an insecurity. But what Nick didn't see coming was that Claire isn't like the previous women in his life. There is something very special and healing about her.
Claire is a widow running a cat sanctuary that is in need of a lot of financial help and when her business is chosen for a makeover, Claire is apprehensive about letting the Handymen Crew near her late husband's legacy. She overworks herself and has no social life outside of the sanctuary. Things soon change when she meets Nick.
Nick and Claire were amazing together. They start off slow but then their attraction for each other grows stronger. Because of where they each are in their lives, Nick and Claire decide on a friends with benefits relationship. During that time, they became closer than either expected and then things become complicated. There is so many wonderful aspects of the story and since I can say no more, you'll just have to read and find out.
I truly loved everything I have read by this author and can't wait to see what she'll write next. While I was given an advanced reading copy of this novel, I assure you this is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
Have you ever watched an HGTV show and thought to yourself, “wow, this would be so much better if it were rated R and involved some romance?” If you answered yes, then this book is definitely for you and if you answered no, then you should still read this book but also give that idea some thought next time you turn on a fixer-upper show! I was really excited to read a book with a hero who is the star of a Canadian home show with his two other brothers. Even better, he meets Claire, the owner of a cat sanctuary in need of some TLC , when her place is chosen to be the next place they fix up.
Rosanna Leo is a new to me author and although I definitely didn’t feel like I needed to read the first two books in this series (about the two older Zorn brothers), I think I need to just because I loved this one so much! However, I don’t know how it can get much better than Nick. I don’t want to give anything away, but Nick isn’t your typical cocky, confident guy we normally read about. I love him even more because he is actually lacking confidence as he faces a physical issue that I’ve never come across in a book before. I appreciated that the problem didn’t magically disappear when he met Claire, and they had to work through it together. Seeing him regain his confidence with Claire at his side was really beautiful. The chemistry between the two is instantaneous, and I loved how awkward they made each other at first.
Claire is a widow of 3 years, and the main issue between Claire and Nick is that Claire isn’t sure if she can move on and feels guilty if she does. She is happy to have a friends with benefits relationship with him, but they quickly realize they want more than that. This story gets extra points for not making up silly drama that causes a break-up or anything like that. They figure things out relatively quickly and move on straight to their HEA, but I would have loved an epilogue!
This book was funny, extra steamy, told from both POVs and it made me tear up a few times. I really couldn’t put it down. Throw in some loveable cats (I’m not even a cat person) and what more could you ask for?
Heartwarming Sexy Read Reviewed in Canada on August 1, 2021 Rosanna Leo wrapped up her Handymen Series with Nick Zorn's story in A RELUCTANT ATTRACTION.
The book has all the traits that makes this author a must-read; humour, sexual tension, well written sensual scenes, loving and teasing banter with the male characters, and most of all taking on serious issues and weaving them into the plot with care and sensitivity.
Nick has a sensitive sex-related issue which most men are hesitant to talk about, let alone have to deal with in the public spotlight.
The female lead, Claire is a widow, whose life was thrown upside down with the loss of her husband, and having to keep his legacy (a cat sanctuary) alive and functioning with all the challenges that one faces while grieving, and the financial implications of keeping a non-profit organization going.
Rosanna Leo handled both these issues extremely well, especially Claire's situation.
Many fictional accounts of widowed women tend to make the deceased spouse a villain, thereby allowing the widowed heroine to move forward into another romantic relationship a lot more easier. This book did not do that, thankfully, it allowed us to feel Claire's internal conflict as she handled her grief and at the same time, allowed herself to take comfort in a man's arms to satisfy her own passion and desires.
We also experienced how she was able to open her heart for a second chance at love, while still keeping her husband's memory and love alive and in her heart, and how Nick was able to work through this conflict with her.
Nick came to her with baggage of his own, having endured a toxic break-up.
This is a well written book, that will provide you with an entertaining, heartwarming and sexy read.
After getting to read all three books about the Handy Men brothers, you can tell that there’s a lot more that actually goes on… as when you read Michael’s book Eli and Nick seem so calm, cocky and collective, yet when you read their stories Michael seems head on and knows what’s happening… yet in reality all three brothers have a lot going on and instead of confiding in each other, they choose to keep it to themselves and put on a front so that they don’t have to face what’s going on. The way that their stories have been written and they each follow on even though time passes between each of them I just love. I think that Rosanna Leo has done an incredible job and I love how all three brothers are so different from one another, in this book you get to see how insecure Nick really is, he has no sense of direction but he’s willing to try and work through all the fog to get somewhere in life. When he meets Claire, it’s like everything just takes a step to the side as it’s been a while for him to see someone who isn’t going to just laugh or make fun of him because of what happened with his one ex-girlfriend. She sees him as just Nick and it’s empowering for him. I honestly couldn’t fault what happened in this book, as I said, I think that Rosanna has done a great job and she had me hooked from the very first page. I honestly have no idea if Rosanna plans on expanding with this series or if she’s just going to leave it here, but either way I’d recommend giving it a read because these brothers are well worth the read. I know I’m excited to see what else Rosanna writes as she’s gotten me hooked.
Nick is the youngest brother and he seems to be a ladies man, but whilst that may be the case to everyone, it’s just a front for him. Ever since his ex-girlfriend embarrassed him publicly about issues in the bedroom, he has just decided to hide away from the world unless he needs to work. But what she did, it did a really bad number on him and now he’s worried he’ll never be able to perform properly in the bedroom again. With the possibly of the Handy Men Series coming to an end, Nick decides that as he’s the one who’s not tied down, he wants to travel with the show but under a new name and make it a little different so that it showcases him and his talents. With that possibly happening, Nick is excited as it’s something new, but when they are heading to their last renovation, everything seems to dim a little once he sees Claire… Will Claire be the answer to Nick’s problems or will there be no going back for him??? What will happen with the new show idea for Nick, will the network agree to give it a go???
I loved all of the Handymen series. This one feels extra special. The characters feel real, like people you know. Very sensitive subjects are bought to light, that are seldom discussed in literature, and addressed skillfully. The Zorn brothers create a sense of family and unity within their colleagues and readers! Another great read!!! I read this book in exchange for an honest review.
A Reluctant Attraction touches on emotional subjects with tenderness and heart. I rooted for Nick and Claire from page one and loved how real the felt. With equal parts steam and swoon, the third installment of the Handymen series is an awesome romantic escape.
A Reluctant Attraction is book #3 in the Handymen series and despite jumping in it at the end it was an enjoyable read. The best way I can describe this series is, "Property Brothers with a romantic twist, overflowing with comedic one-liners and lovable characters."
Nick is the youngest of the Handymen brothers and this book follows him as he navigates life, post publicity scandal, courtesy of his ex-girlfriend who blasted his impotency issues on social media #NicksDicks. This has messed with Nick's confidence and specifically his libido.
Claire is the widowed owner of Haven- a cat sanctuary that is being renovated thanks to the delectable Handymen. She was such a complex character and I applauded the author for penning a modern cat lady. She desperately wants to move on but her past is mirrored in every aspect of her life- from Haven to the house she lives in, all the reminders of her once happy past linger. As a reader, it was fascinating to read the different stages of grief and truly understand the heart wrenching difficulties of moving on from loss.
When Claire and Nick collide, what started as an innocent glance, slowly morphs into something raw and primal. While their sexual chemistry is blazing hot, when the immediate itch is scratched, can their mutual attraction be more than a fling or are they forever stuck in the "friends with benefits" zone?
Things are further complicated when the opportunity of a lifetime lands in Nick's lap that will result in him going cross country for his new show. Can Nick's anxiety and fear of being the "lesser Zorn" stop him from grabbing life by the balls? Can Claire move on from the past when she still hears her dead husband in her thoughts? This is such an interesting spin on second chances and coming into your own as an individual.
My only qualm with this book was in the transition of Claire. It honestly felt like two very different people from the beginning of the book to halfway through. This could be a good thing as it shows the progression of her character but the bedroom dialogues felt slightly stiff, it didn't read like a real-life scenario but more along the lines of what you think romance should sound like if that makes sense?
Overall this is a fun and flirty read and I would recommend it for those who like animal cameos and second chance romances.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review!
Nick is the youngest of the Zorn brothers and deck specialist on their home improvement series The Handymen. But now his brothers are settling into married life and would rather keep working at their contracting business than expand the show. After one more joint project as The Handymen, Nick’s going out to travel with his own show.
Claire is a widow running the cat sanctuary her husband was passionate about. But with repairs piling up, she can barely afford to make ends meet much less make all the improvements Haven needs to stay in business.
When Claire’s friend submits Haven’s information to the show, The Handymen show up to repair the sanctuary as their last project together. Nick is drawn to Claire, but a recent social media humiliation makes him reluctant to pursue a relationship with anyone and Claire is still haunted by the loss of her husband.
As much as they are drawn together physically, neither can seem to let go of their past in order to develop a true relationship. But as they get deeper into their “friends with benefits” relationship, they can’t deny that some of those benefits are becoming less physical and more emotional.
A Reluctant Attraction is part of a series (book 3 in The Handymen series) by Rosanna Leo but can easily be read as a standalone. It’s full of intense attraction, swoony romance, and hot, hot, hot sex scenes. I haven’t read the other two books in the series, but I have to get them now for sure! It’s an easy read, the characters are relatable, and did I mention it’s hot?
A Reluctant Attraction comes out 4/20/21, but you can preorder it now on Amazon
*I received an ARC of A Reluctant Attraction from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Some people don't like to come in at the end of a series, fearing that the story won't be as good since it's the last one... but in this case, I'd almost recommend reading this book first!
Nick's got a problem - well, a few of them - his brothers are moving on with their lives and he's feeling a bit adrift... and, oh, yeah, his ex-girlfriend's dropped a social media bomb on his head, messing with him in all sorts of ways. So when the opportunity comes up to help renovate a cat sanctuary, Nick's keen to get back to working with his hands on something solid and real. Claire runs a cat sanctuary and is barely holding on - recovering from the loss of her husband, she's allowed herself to be swallowed up caring for the wayward felines to the point of having the building literally collapsing around her. When the offer comes in from a television program to do a free renovation, she jumps at the chance. But when Nick shows up, she finds herself thinking about the future...
As events throw Claire and Nick together and pull them apart, you'll find yourself unable to stop reading - the story draws you in and keeps you guessing until the very, VERY last page!!!
If you love cats, hot men, and wonderful, believable characters, pick this book up - and the others in the series! It's a wonderful read, from the first page to the last - and if you're a cat owner, you'll sympathize with Nick... *wink, wink*
In A Reluctant Attraction, Rosanna Leo finishes off the Handymen series on just the right note. The Zorn men have been delicious from page one of A Good Man, and Nick is no exception. Like in the first two books of the series, Claire and Nick’s story is marked by sensitive topics, which are handled with care and empathy. The emotions and experiences are realistic and approached in a way that respects the depth of the characters’ problems, but still offers Nick and Claire a joyful and believable HEA. The world is richly created, from the cat rescue to the renovation details. (I'm not a cat person, but the cats in this book won me over, nonetheless.) Also - it’s sexy and has its funny moments, too. A Reluctant Attraction was a wonderful send off for characters I really loved. I am definitely adding The Handymen to my reread pile, as I’m not ready to say goodbye. Can’t recommend this series enough.
LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!! I have to say I was little unsure at the start of this book as I'm not a huge cat person but I was totally won over! After seeing Nick in the previous two books I was excited to learn more about him and he did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the complexity of the character and how he wanted to bring Claire joy. Claire really impressed me. She has been through so much yet she is so strong and she just kept getting more amazing. Love that she wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted or stand up to others when necessary. Watching these two characters grow throughout the book both individually and together was wonderful. Truly the way these two characters cared for one another was beautiful. READ THIS BOOK.
Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Reluctant Attraction by Rosanna Leo 🐝 Contractor and one third of the famous Zorn Handymen tv-show trio Nick is looking for a change. After his ex-girlfriend posts an embarrassing video of her sharing private details of their sex life, he retreats into himself and ready to escape. When an opportunity to go solo and reinvent his career he takes it, even if it means the end of the Handymen. As a last episode, the Zorn brothers tackle a struggling cat sanctuary. 🐝 Widowed very young, Claire's life is focused on saving her late husband's cat sanctuary. Neither Nick or Claire are looking for a connection, just some good old fashion sex. However, as Nick fixes every piece of her workplace, he realizes he wants to help her in other ways too. The more time they spend together, the more their sizzling chemistry reveals deep feelings and undeniable connection. But what happens when Nick eventually has to leave? 🐝 This good was incredible! I absolutely loved every single detail! It was steamy, flirty, funny but also an heartfelt tearjerker that left my heart wide open. Claire and Nick's chemistry was off the chart! Their bedroom communication was beautiful and I loved how imperfect their first time was, their vulnerability, and the reality of this first step between them meant a lot, and all these little details and imperfections are what made this scene absolutely flawless. I strongly recommend reading this one! It's part of a standalone series so if you love it as much as I have, you have other Happily Ever After to sink your teeth into after, and that is exactly what I'll be doing. 🐝 Thank you so much @rleoauthor for the E-ARC! As always all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own. 🐝

A Reluctant Attraction is the third book in the Handymen series written by author Rosanna Leo. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance. However, I do recommend reading the books in chronological order. I believe it will give you a better foundation to understand and appreciate the storyline. Just know that it is only a suggestion.
A Reluctant Attraction tells the story of Nick Zorn and Claire Brewer. Nick is the youngest of the Zorn brothers, and his specialty on the Handymen home improvement show is building decks. He has been in a funk lately as he recently broke up with a woman, and it turned pretty nasty. It resulted in Nick being more of a recluse.
Claire is the owner of a cat shelter called Haven, and it was originally her husband Arthur’s. However, she took it over when he passed away three years ago. Although, she’s been overwhelmed with the bills and repairs. Luckily the shelter was recently chosen to be a part of the Handymen show. When Nick and Claire first meet, there was an instant connection. However, both were reluctant to start anything serious.
A Reluctant Attraction is a steamy and heartwarming story, and I truly enjoyed it! The storyline was well developed and kept my attention throughout the whole book!
Imagine being the crazy cat lady at a young age because your husband dies and you take over his cat sanctuary. That’s a good thing, right? But what happens to your life and dreams? Where do they go?
Nick has had a rough time of it with cyberbullying, and Claire is slowly drowning as she tries to keep the sanctuary alive. These two are made for each other, and they realize it quite early on, but in trying to keep emotions out of their relationship, it becomes more confusing than it should be.
I enjoyed this book, the first one by this author I have read. Her writing style is smooth, and it is evenly paced out. The only problem I had was the constant back and forth between Nick and Claire. It felt like just a bit too much for me, although I am sure I will be in the minority with that opinion. I like having some angst in the stories I read, but this one felt a little like a pendulum. I guess that makes it authentic?!
All in all, this was a great read. This is the third book in the series so now I really want to read books one and two. If you enjoy contemporary romance, then I can absolutely recommend this book.
I absolutely adore this series and Reluctant Attraction was the topper to the 3 Zorn Brother’s stories. Well at least in my opinion. I won’t say that the author saved the best for last, because trust me all three brother’s books are terrific reads. What she did do is give us a heartwarming storyline packed full of emotion. It’s a tale of getting over the loss of a loved one, the embarrassment of an intimate moment broadcast globally via social media. It’s a story we the reader get to share as two people find their way back to the world of the living, instead of just existing.
I can’t recommend the Handymen series enough. While all three books can be read as standalones, this reader suggests reading them in order for a better reading experience. Trust me you don’t want to miss out on the Zorn brother’s and the loves of their lives.
I loved this book! Rosanna Leo always handles sensitive issues so well! She handled Nick and Claire's issues perfectly and they were meant to be! They helped each other heal. The only thing I'm sad about with this book is that it may well be the last in the Handymen series and I would have loved Lacey to get a book and to see the guys become parents as well if it's in the cards for them all.
Anyone with a cable TV subscription has at least one channel that involves watching attractive and skilled characters do some kind of home renovation. That’s the theme behind Rosanna Leo’s Handymen series with a trio of brothers, Michael, Eli and Nick Zorn who have successfully parlayed their skills into a Toronto-based TV show with the same name. In A Reluctant Attraction, it’s Nick’s turn to see if he can follow in his brothers’ footsteps and find a life partner.
Nick has enjoyed the fame that the Handymen show has brought him and his brothers, but sometimes being in the limelight has its disadvantages. Currently he’s trying to avoid the public after an ex-girlfriend posted some unflattering comments about his ‘difficulties’ in the bedroom. When the show’s producer Lacey broaches the idea of taking the show on the road and travelling to different North American locations, only Nick is interested, resulting in a change in direction for all of them. Handymen will wrap up with one more local gig with the three brothers and then Nick will venture out on his own with a new show while his brothers settle back into the family contracting business.
Claire Brewer isn’t sure what she thinks about having the Zorn brothers and their TV show renovate the Haven Cat Sanctuary she runs in memory of her deceased husband. But truth be told, she doesn’t have a lot of financial options. Staffed mostly by volunteers and challenged to stay afloat, unbeknownst to Claire her sister Mia put in an application for the Handymen show and was accepted. Help to fix up the place and the exposure from the TV show could mean getting new donors and increasing their financial stability, but it’ll also mean having to appear on camera (ugh) and trying not to drool openly over having her TV crush, Nick, around in person. But for the cats, and her husband’s memory, she’s willing to try anything.
When they meet in person, Nick and Claire are struck by an instant attraction to each other, and working together lets them explore those feelings in more depth. But with Nick gearing up for his new show and subsequent travels, and Claire stuck in her obligation to the cat shelter and still grieving her husband’s loss, will their short time together be enough to spark something permanent?
The author appears to have managed to go behind the scenes of a TV construction show and seen the inner workings of an animal sanctuary, because both are portrayed in a totally believable and interesting manner in this story. I really enjoyed seeing these important elements well-detailed and how they are combined for the renovation of the cat shelter with the animals and workers in mind. Cat lovers will certainly appreciate the care and attention shown to the animals by Claire and her volunteers, as well as the animals themselves, with their own character quirks.
Claire is a lovely, strong woman for whom the loss of her husband Arthur (a previously healthy man who died of a brain aneurysm) has resulted in her being stuck in a life she hadn’t really envisioned for herself. Her dreams of being a photographer and travelling were put aside when she married, and now she feels obligated to continue the shelter in memory of her husband. It’s been a few years since his death, so she doesn’t feel too guilty about her attraction and subsequent relationship with Nick, but she’s not sure if she’s ready to really put the past behind her and move on. Her grief has mellowed over time and I didn’t find the story depressing or sad, it’s just a fact of her life. It’s what to do with the shelter that is the real struggle for her as there are volunteers willing to take it over but clinging to it is a way to show Arthur that she’s not forgetting him.
Nick is a fun, generous and warm guy with a good heart. Ironically he’s afraid of cats (!) due to some negative experiences when he was young, so hanging around with cats in a shelter isn’t really his idea of a good time. Claire doesn’t make fun of him for his fear (unlike the cameramen who think it’s hilarious) but shows him ways to be comfortable in the presence of cats and he eventually bonds with an older shelter mate, which is really sweet. Nick and Claire’s attraction leads to some sexy love scenes and some intimate sharing of personal fears and dreams (and Nick, with Claire’s steady presence and understanding is able to get over the troubles he had with his ex). Though both go into the relationship believing it’s just a fling for the duration of the filming, their feelings become much more entangled and they soon have to figure out what they will do when the show is over. I won’t give away the ending but suffice it to say they make both of their dreams come true. As the third and final book in the series there are some visits with the characters from the previous books and of course the three brothers are close and get their share of personal time. All in all, A Reluctant Attraction is an enjoyable and engaging story and comes well recommended especially if you love cats and handy men or have ever wanted to go behind the scenes of a reality TV show.
I received a copy of this book through voracious readers and I loved it. I loved the plot, the characters and basically everything about the book. The romance in the book was soo adorable and I liked the way it developed naturally throughout the book. It made the whole thing feel kind of realistic. The way that Claire and Nick worked together was soo cute, the way they brought out the best in eachother was perfect. Their chemistry was also amazing and very steamy. I definitely recommend this book if you like quite steamy romances.
They become a team rather than love will cure everything. It makes for a sweet, romance, steamy and excellent read. There was no way I could give A Reluctant Attraction anything but 5 shiny stars.
What a great book. This is a new author for me and I loved her style of writing. It concerns a truly lovely gentleman Nick who is a handyman on TV and the delicate subject of erectile dysfunction. This is so rarely dealt with in any book and it was done with great sensitivity by the author. The female protagonist is a widow who runs a cat rescue sanctuary - a subject very close to my heart. So lets look at this - a hunky handyman, wonderful sex scenes with some interesting scenarios, cats (Mortimer must be given must be mentioned here) and a great heroine who is still recovering from the death of her husband at an early age. Well whats not to love. The story is so well written and emotions are so good (I also lost my partner at a young age so could understand Claire's emotions and guilt). I would highly recommend this book but the sex scenes are hot - not for the shy amongst us - I enjoyed them though. I read it within a day as I was so invested in the characters. I was given a copy of this book to review through voracious readers only for an honest review - I always give an honest review.
this was sexy and interesting.. it was super emotional at times... it was well written and navigated the complex emotions and personalities and the complex relationship between these two. it was a really good story.
Character Chemistry: They were soooooo good together in just so many ways which is just how this series is from start to stop.
Plot: Nick takes on the last project for the Handymen TV series after being the subject of a pretty demeaning cyberbullying campaign. The property is owned by Claire, a widow who is in desperate need of a fresh start—and sparks fly almost instantaneously.
Overall: UGHHH this is such a phenomenal end to the Handymen Series and I loved it so much.
This series is so fearless and wholesome in the way it approaches the messiness and trauma of life, and it does it in a sexy and sweet way. I don’t know how, but the author unpacks these things that could be depicted with a touch of shame or embarrassment or drama and she does it with so much moxie that it just feeds into that new relationship buzz, and it WORKS.
In this last book, Nick ends up being cyberbullied to a degree that causes him a fairly significant amount of emotional distress, and just as he’s figuring out how to deal with that he ends up getting the career opportunity of his dreams. As he’s preparing to wrap the last project of the Handymen Series, he’s introduced to Claire, a widow who is desperately trying to hold together her late husband’s cat rescue.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. We disclose this in accordance with 16 CFR §255.
I have read and adored the entire Handymen Series by Rosanna Leo and A Reluctant Attraction is my favorite!! I love a widow in a romance who gets another chance at a happy every after!! And not only did Claire deserve another chance at love, she deserves to follow her own dreams. The Handymen crew arrives to save and reno her falling-apart cat sanctuary, and sexy, cute Nick Zorn helps her realize she deserves the world.
Speaking of Nick Zorn, the cutest Zorn brother IMHP, he is definitely reluctant to get attached to someone again, after his last girlfriend trashed him on social media. But when he lets himself truly fall for Claire and trust her, he realizes she’s who he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
True to Leo’s other titles, the hero doesn’t just save the heroine in this story, Claire saves Nick too and I am so here for that!! Especially how Claire helps Nick overcome his self-doubt in the bedroom. Go Claire!! Both characters express their feelings and worries from past traumas and they listen to each other in such a mature way, which is so refreshing to read.
Dive into the third Handymen romance and discover a beautiful, sensual romance full of swoon, a tiny bit of angst and a well-deserved happy ever after!!!
Adored this book! Relatable, funny leads. Their conflict wasn't easy to resolve and kept the story going--with lots of heat. Strong storytelling kept me turning the pages.
*I'm friendly with Rosanna on social media and this is the first of her books I've read. This mini-review is my honest and freely offered take on her book. I absolutely will be reading more of her work.
