Kristy's mom got remarried and their family moved to the ritzy neighborhood across town. The other members of The Baby-sitters Club think it's a good opportunity to get some new business, but the kids who live nearby aren't very friendly. They criticize Kristy's clothes and make fun of the BSC. And, worst of all, they laugh at Louie, Kristy's pet collie, who's getting old and not feeling well. These kids are total snobs! But if anyone can put them in their place, it's The Baby-sitters Club!

Kristy's mum got married and they relocated to a new, posh neighborhood. The Baby-Sitters Club sent flyers around Kristy's new neighborhood and now they are finally getting jobs from there. But Kristy didn't realize how some of the kids can be real snobs there. Kristy doesn't ever want to babysit them again until Stacey teaches Kristy to not be so overwhelmed.
Kristy and her brother, David Michael are also dealing with their dog, Louie getting old and sick. On top of that, Kristy's neighbor, Shannon is also trying to meddle in Kristy's babysitting jobs. There are some kids dealing with chick-pox too and another family is expecting a baby. Would the Baby-Sitters Club be able to handle everything?
This was a nice addition teaching everyone to be kind and patient. There's also a part about grieving for your pet. I also like how the Baby-Sitters Club is always ready to give everyone a second chance. But I didn't enjoy it as much as I had wanted to because there was a lot going on. Some of the things could have been easily skipped completely as they added nothing to this story or could have been added into another novel. The art was colorful and lively as always. I liked the humor too. Overall, it is not the worst in the series and is still enjoyable.

One of my favorite things about these books is that in the end no one is truly a “villain.” Even though people make mistakes and do bad things, they always own up to them in the end and decide to be better people. Babysitters Club shows us what the world could be like if we all put in a little extra honesty and kindness.
But I can’t leave this review without a warning: this book heavily features pet death (by euthanization). It hit me in the feels more than anything else I’ve read in the last year. Literal tears were shed, I tell you! But I promise it really was a lovely (but sad) read.
I'll admit, I have been very wary about this book. I've mentioned on many occasions about how I dislike when graphic novel series change the artists, and despite that I've been quite pleased with the BSC adaptations have looked. But when the cover for Kristy and the Snobs was released, I noticed right away that Chan Chau's style wasn't as rounded and cartoony as Raina Telgemeier, Gale Galligan, or Gabriela Epstein. I was worried that this book would stick out like a sore thumb. Thankfully, I was wrong. (I guess they say not to judge a book by its cover for a reason, lol.)
I don't even know if I'd say that Chan Chau's artwork is all that different than their predecessors. It's maybe not as rounded, but there's still that cartoonish vibe to it, complete with my favourite exaggerated wacky faces. (I always have to send Snapchats of them to my boyfriend because they make me laugh.) Truthfully, I don't think the cover really does the rest of the book justice, the artwork really flows in the story, and the cover almost seems little jarring to me. But it definitely wasn't the complete departure from the rest of the series that I was expecting!
Story-wise, I thought this was an almost spot-on adaptation of the novel. I laughed, I cried (boy, did I ever cry!), I really enjoyed this. Of course I did, it's Baby-sitters Club!
This was a good one. After Kristy moved to a new neighborhood, making friends wasn’t easy. Especially when she was taking babysitting jobs away from the locals. Unfortunately, the family dog died which brought sadness. However, Louie’s departure brought Kristy and Shannon (the snob) together with a new found friendship and BSC member. Plus, the new dog Shannon is cute.
Oh, my, there is soooo much going on in this overstuffed outing: ailing pet , mean girls, pranks, chicken pox, and spoiled brats. There are 40 different sitters, siblings, parents, neighbors and children in 158 comic book pages -- as many as a Marvel Comics superhero team book!
A couple chapters could have been left out or expanded into their own adaptations, and the ending works itself out a little too well, but I still enjoyed the whole thing and look forward to the next.
The new artist is pretty good at bringing their own flair to the Raina Telgemeier style that kicked off the series.
So sad but happy ending. Makes me want to cry thinking of dog dying because my dog died a few years ago and he was such a good dog. Love this book and totally recommend this!!
I LOVED this book and I give it definitely a four star ratting. And recommend it for anybody who loves this seried
Another great BSC story! The ending had me all like 😭, but quickly made me ☺️. I love this series and can’t wait to get back into Season 2 on Netflix - seriously, if you haven’t picked up this GN series (or the original series), find copies of them and settle in for fun adventures with Kristy and the rest of the BSC ❤️
This one was bittersweet. *Thinks about Louie* *intense sobbing* Why?? Louie was my favorite character... *sniffle* But Shannon and Kristy... That was really sweet. They're not enemies anymore. She gave her a puppy. (Not sure about naming the puppy Shannon, though...) I like Kristy's family, so I really enjoyed this one.
So I thought it was good, you know just like any baby sitters club book, it has the main idea and just a side story.I really liked the enemy to friendship relationship.I really liked the message given and executed very well.My emotions throughout the book was like a roller coaster going up, down, and even in loops!I enjoyed this book but this just isn’t the genre of book. This kept me entertained and gave me good reading time. But overall my favorite part was the moral of the story and I hope that many people take in and learn from this moral executed in the story.
I'm planning on reading the original book right after this, but I'm getting slightly confused because the graphic novels were adding Mallory as a junior officer far earlier than the original series.
I did like Stacey in this book, and I don't think it was a coincidence that she was the one well-versed in dealing with snobs.
is it weird that my favorite parts were claudia popping her gum and getting it all over her face, and shannon's raised eyebrow when max delaney tells her to get him a napkin? I just really love actually seeing these scenes that I have pictured in my head over the last 30ish years.
