When it came to the men in her life, Charlotte Belmont was cursed. She’d known losers, cheaters, abusers, and criminals, so it went without saying, she stopped trusting her judgment a long time ago. Then Dalton came into her life; a good, dependable man who made her heart race and her body hot. When she felt herself falling for him, she did the only thing she could think to protect them both . . . she ran like hell.
Dalton Prescott was a protector by nature, so when the woman he’d been tasked to keep safe was almost killed on his watch, he carried that guilt like a weight on his shoulders. What made matters worse was that before everything went south, Dalton had started to care for Charlotte in a way that had nothing to do with his job.
She’s determined to ignore their attraction and keep him at a distance, but he’s playing for keeps and has no intention of losing. However, when ghosts from the past start popping up, bringing with them a whole new threat, Dalton may be the only man who can keep her safe this time.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

I have adored this series, and Jessica is by far one of my favorite indie authors out there, but even though I was really looking forward to this book.. I just didn't love it as much as I wanted to. I definitely adored Charlotte, and after all that she has been through in her short life, she was just so fucking strong. She is definitely a spitfire, despite all that has happened to her. She's still recovering from the events of the last Hope Valley book, and is just trying to make it through each day. She's also dealing with her attraction to Dalton, and how much she adores him.. but refuses to bring him into the mess of her life, and the curse she believes she is. But will this be the man to finally break down all of her walls and love her the right way?
I truly liked Dalton, but I feel like I still don't know him. We really didn't get that much of his POV, nor did I understand his personality flip towards the end. It may have been how because of how jumpy the book was-- I hate to say it, but the book just did not flow at all during the last half. We would get one scene, and then immediately jump into something else without getting closure. For example, one chapter started out as a sex scene between the two of them that came out of nowhere, and then there was the mystery of Charlotte's family. It was mentioned/revealed at the very end what had really happened, and then just nothing. This just felt like very two different books: at the beginning you had the push and pull between Charlotte and Dalton, and the evolution of their relationship, and then towards the end where they just stopped communicating and started ignoring each other after she was attacked just came out of nowhere. And then all of a sudden they were on the same page again within a blink of an eye? It just didn't set right with me.
One thing I'm truly grateful of is that there is NO other woman drama/unnecessary catty name calling by other women. That seems to always happen within this authors books, and it was just SUCH a relief that it didn't happen here. From their very first moment, Dalton is all about Charlotte, even though they weren't together, and I LOVED that. He wasn't thinking of her while screwing half of the Hope Valley female population, and honestly, I really, REALLY loved that. Which is why I wished we got more of his POV, because I felt like he was honestly such an amazing guy. I just still didn't know much about him even at the very end.
I am happy that these two got their happy ever after, and I LOVE that there was no over the top drama/barley any drama at all, but between the choppy spacing and not connecting as much between the actual romance between Charlotte and Dalton, this unfortunately just wasn't my favorite by this author.
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**
Charlotte's been through it and Dalton wants to be there for her, watching over her, protecting her. If only she'd let him in. But Charlotte did not get to be the strong survivor she is by letting herself depend upon, trust, others. If only her body and heart didn't react so strongly to Dalton. If only she could continue to keep Dalton at a distance...
These two...I kept shaking my head as Charlotte kept Dalton at arm's length, but believe me, I completely understood why. She had not had an easy life by any means, so trusting anyone, even someone she was so drawn to, was not easy for her. But her strength and reticence were actually things I admired and respected about her character, even though those things made the road to their happiness that much more difficult. I actually loved this story, loved their chemistry, loved how strong Charlotte was and adored Dalton's protective alpha personality. Another top notch love story in Hope Valley.

It's okay. Best to read the series in order as there are references to events from previous books in series. The situation the Hero and heroine are in now relates to the previous book, they met and interacted due to circumstances in that story. The Hero is all in from the start. The heroine has this sad past that makes her feel cursed, she's had bad relationships so she constantly pushes him away. By 40% they are committed but I did get frustrated with the heroine as she isn't able to fully trust him with information that you just know will be an issue later. Fun times with the lonely elderly neighbor. Sisterhood attitude with other women. Some very similar scenes to KA books, including the gun shop with a range at the back, hitting an of of a girlfriend with a bat, sipping coffee on the Hero's deck.
Hints towards more from the author's Pembrooke series as the Hero's family are from there. Plus hints and breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. No other woman or man drama. Hero past is just mentioned as noone he was serious enough about to introduce to his family. Heroine mentions some abusive relationships she's had when she explains her past.
HEA. Epilogue. Progress of relationships in previous couples introduced from previous books.

I could never say that enough: I love this series.
Dalton and Charlotte managed to break and mend my heart all at once. I was riveted by their deep chemistry and strong connection.
Charlotte's been through so, so much during her life and now she is rightfully wary, so trust doesn't come easy for her. But more than that, aknowledging her own worth is her biggest issue and what could keep her from Dalton, the greatest person she'd ever met.
Good thing is that Dalton, being the protective and caring alpha he is, is also pulling out all the stops and definitely playing for keeps. He even has the whole town, Charlie's best friends and his adorable family to back him up.
Convincing her to let him in was a journey, of the bumpy and curvy kind, but the destination was so worth the wait and the obstacles.
They were so beautiful and enthralling together. Once I started them, I just couldn't get enough. And as it always happens when I'm reading this series, now that I'm over the book, I miss the characters already. I feel like I know them, like they are part of me, so reading "the end" left me a little lost and even homesick. That's right, homesick. I'm claiming Hope Valley as my Home Sweet Home.
Charlottes life had been a rocky one from the get go. When her knight in shining armour saves her from a terrible situation she often wonders if the connect she felt was real. She keeps her distance from Dalton or so she tries. Dalton doesn’t give up without a fight making his presence in her life known. Showing up at work & waiting to make sure she’s safe
Charlotte began to let him in & the unthinkable happens. Will this new challenge rip them apart or bring them back together
What an incredible love story ❤️ Become captivated by Charlottes & Daltons romance.. will it be happily ever after
I love me some Jessica Prince. Her books are like coming home and this series is a top favorite and reread of mine. Hope Valley and its residents have become family to me and watching them each fall one by one has been everything in the very best ways and has given the very best moments.
Well we are back for another beautifully complicated round of romance in Hope Valley (they haven't been easy but so very worth it!) and this time around we have Charlotte and Dalton.
Playing For Keeps was really, really good, crazy good actually- sexy, swoony, suspenseful, intense, unforgettable, unputdownable, packed with all of the BEST feels. I devoured this beauty in one sitting and didn't come up for air until the very last word. Like everyone before them, these two own a sliver of my heart now.
I'm counting down the days, weeks, months until we get to travel back to Hope Valley. Oh and YAYYYYYYY for going back to Pembrooke!!
I wasn’t sure at first about how Dalton would go about proving to Charlotte that all of her perceptions about herself are wrong, but he convinced me that his version of tough love was so worth it! They’ve both been through a lot and while Charlotte definitely got the worst of it, Dalton lived with guilt and regret and worry about the woman he was desperate to make his. And once he succeeded, would everything be torn apart by fears and new regrets?
I knew Charlotte was alone in life, but knowing just HOW alone and how that all came to be made me want to cry for her. Is it any wonder she kept things buried deep down where no one could see them? She was so used to being tossed aside and left to believe that she was worthless that I wanted to slap Dalton for his anger. Of course, Trent helped to explain exactly how Dalton‘s mind worked, which helped to repair the rift, so now I want more of Trent, too. And the end? This author is getting quite adept at giving us the happiness that the couple deserves while making readers want to know how the next mystery will be solved. And who will solve it? I can’t wait to find out!
This story was cute but not my favorite in the series.
Let me start off by saying I am a HUGE fan of Jessica Prince and a HUGE fan of her Hope Valley series. However, Playing For Keeps just seemed like it was lacking in ways that her other stories haven't.
For starters, I think had there been a prologue of the scenes between Dalton and Charlotte before the big incident that took place in the previous book, Love To Hate You, it would have set them up better. We, new and old readers, would have a better understanding of the dynamics between them and why they are the way they are in present day.
While I loved the way Dalton handled Charlotte, I would have liked to have been in his head. I wanted to know why he needs the outlet he has. What pushes him? The majority of his POV was spent thinking about Charlotte.
There were lots of fun moments in the story especially thanks to Charlotte's older neighbor, Ms. Weatherby. I loved her and all that happened when she was around.
While it wasn't my favorite, it won't stop me from reading the next story in this series. There is lots of drama going on in this town and I can't wait to see what the author has in store.
There is a reason that this author is one of my favorites and one of my most read authors. It is because of the writing style. It is similar to another favorite of mine but is uniquely her own as well. I enjoy getting lost in these amazing characters that she creates that feel authentic and real. Well, real if I lived in Hope Valley.
I loved Charlotte and her relationship with old favorites as well as her cute elderly neighbor. I had several laughs at those relationships. I felt for Charlotte and loved her strength. I felt her fears and loved seeing her blossom under the care of Dalton. However, Dalton stole the show. From his actions, the mannerisms in which he spoke/how he spoke, and the way that he showed that he was all-in had me swooning.
There were new characters introduced that showed possible future stories which I LOVED because that means this series is not going away anytime soon. Even though this is book 10, it still feels fresh and doesn't feel forced or as if the same story is being redone multiple times. I was wanting a bit more from the conclusion but other than that this is a stellar read. I highly recommend this series.
Jessica has created a small town I want to be part of. The people, their lives and stories had me reeled in from book one.
It’s an addiction that I’m hooked on. She gives a reader a solid story with strong leads and awesome secondary characters.
The chemistry she creates is electrifying. You get lost as you read deeper and not even noticing how much time has passed. The drama is well written and the continuity is faultless. I’m a devoted fan and I can’t rate her or her books enough. If you want romance with emotion than you can’t go wrong with Jessica.
OH MY GOODNESS! Playing For Keeps is the 10th book of the Hope Valley Series and BAM! I've got a new favourite couple! Well this book is the story of Charlotte and Dalton and OH SO GOOD! As always Jessica Prince never disappoints me! ♡ I COMPLETELY LOVED THEIR BOOK! It was so full of perfect sizzling chemistry and hooooot sexy times and suspense! It HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED! OMG I had goose bumps all the time when Dalton appeared! LOL Yeah I guess he really got under my skin! I loved this special connection between Charlotte and Dalton! Both are brilliant characters I fell in love with from the beginning! Awwwww!! I can't even describe all my feelings right now! YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS STORY! IT'S PERFECT!! I'm not even surprised that I loved the 10th book of this wonderful series and I can't wait for more! ♡
A beautiful small town, second chance romance between Charlotte and Dalton. She has a heart wrenching past that broke my heart and is why she is such a guarded character. Dalton, though, is playing for keeps and is determined to make sure she is his forever. He works so hard to gain her trust and her love. He is protective by nature and it truly shows when it comes to her. They are such a sweet couple and I couldn't put this book down. A wonderful story that will have you cheering on this couple every step of the way.
Playing for Keeps is book ten in the amazing Hope Valley series and it is another winner! I am always in anticipation for the next book in each of her current series and I tend to devour them within hours. This was no different.
This is Charlotte “Charlie” and Dalton’s story. We get quite an introduction to them in the previous book, Love to Hate You, so I was so excited to really get to know them better and see their happily ever after. Reading their story we find Charlotte’s history is more heartbreaking than I imagined. Her childhood and some of the bad choices she had made has caused her to see herself as toxic, not deserving of happiness and not trusting her own judgment. Unfortunately for her, Dalton does not see her that way and he is determined to make her see what he and the rest of her friends see. Dalton Prescott is an uber alpha protector, so when Charlotte was hurt during his watch, his own sense of self-worth took a hit but his feelings towards her remained true. He definitely had his work cut out for him to break through her walls but he knew she was worth it all.
I loved their story so much! It was so wonderful to see Charlotte finally allow herself all the happiness she so deserved. There were definitely bumps along the way, especially when her past comes back to haunt her and some of the consequences from that, but with the help of friends and family and the strength of their feelings towards each other it all works out beautifully.
I am once again in anticipation mode for more. We meet a few more characters where I am hoping there will be stories for them. And the way this book ended, I am hoping there will be more to the story from Charlotte’s past. This was another fantastic read!
Charlotte was cursed. Nothing good ever came to her. She was destined for a life of loneliness, pain and suffering. If she learned anything in her life, is that she didn’t deserve happiness and definitely not Dalton. She had to keep her secrets and pain inside her and not let anyone in.
Dalton had his work cut out for him. He wanted nothing more than to prove to Charlotte that she was meant to have goodness in her life because she had nothing but goodness in her. He never gave up trying to show her that she was worth a life of happiness and sunshine. If she would only let him in.
These 2 had so much thrown at them that I didn’t see how they could come out the other side! What an amazing love story these 2 had! Dalton never gave up on Charlotte. When she started to let him in, tragedy struck again and Dalton had to work through his own thoughts of failure to get back to her.
Do you know when the H says don't worry, I'll love you forever and however long it takes you to tell me your secrets, I'll wait? And then changes that to two weeks is as far as I am willing to wait? Yeah. This is one of those books.
Well written, but with very little chemistry, and little patience. From me or the H.
I always get excited when a new Hope Valley book finds its way onto the Kindle. I love the small town, everyone’s up in your business vibe as well as getting to catch up with characters we’ve all come to love while meeting new ones, and while this book didn’t knock any of my favs down a notch or two on the list, I still devoured it (I did the “I’m only going to read the first chapter or so and was about 30% in before I knew it) in no time at all.
I really liked Charlotte and Dalton. Charlotte is a fighter. She’s gone through hell and back ~ quite a few times ~ but finds a way to pick herself up and keep on living. She’s sweet, snarky and though she may not be an open book, once she considers you one of hers, she won’t let you go. Dalton is all kinds of persistent/determined, charming and protective alpha male who comes across as laid back, but does have a demon or two to contend with.
Their journey to their HEA was an interesting one because while they don’t have a past together, they did go through a pretty heavy situation in Love to Hate You that connected them on a pretty deep level, so it made for some pretty interesting moments between them before finally coming together. When they, or really Charlie, decided to give them a chance, I really did like them together. Their bantering was a lot of fun and their chemistry was intense. My one thing was that I wish we could have gone deeper with the two of them on certain issues/situations and spent more time with them working through them. But in the end, I’m happy they got their HEA.
This book was a fun, quick read, maybe not my fav of the series because I feel like I needed a little more in certain areas, but a good addition to the series and in the end it still has me looking forward to what will be coming next in the series and who will be the next to fall. As for the supporting cast of characters, I loved catching up with Hayden, Micah and Ivy. I’m hoping we’ll get to spend a little more time with the ladies of Whiskey Doll’s and I adored Ms. Weatherby!
The Hope Valley series is one that I will always find myself rereading over and over again! Playing for Keeps; the tenth in the series, is a powerful story of love, friendship and inner strength. Author JP has become an icon in the world of small-town romance with her quick wit and magical mind.
Charlotte “Charlie” Belmont is a survivor. She’s known the worst of the worst, suffered pain and lose, but always gets back up again. Bad relationship after bad relationship, lost trust and a good few beating, Charlotte has become a rock, not letting anyone in anymore. Or so she thought. Now she finds herself surrounded by a new family of friends, one that she has struggled to build, but the secrets are still there. The pain. The toxic that is her is life. For that reason, she won’t let herself have the one thing she wants. Or rather, the one person.
Dalton.
Big, Burly, Bearded Dalton. An alpha to his core, his protectiveness knows no bounds, and Charlotte, she’s his to protect. Weather she wants it or not. *As a side note, the previous book does have details that help with the back story, but it is somewhat explained in PFK as well*
When Charlotte is shot on his watch, Dalton’s perspective on things shift. They have chemistry, they have spark, they have connection, but Charlie has her secrets clutched tight. Can she let her past go long enough to try with Dalton? Will she cave to their connection?
Dalton and Charlotte were so much fun to read, I always love new books in a series, but I also really enjoying see past characters. Charlie suffered so much by her own hand by turning everything inward. I loved her friendship Hayden and Micah, he plays the big brother and that alone is worth reading the book. The only thing I wish there was more of is Dalton. We don’t get very much in his POV, it would be nice to see more of him through other books. With the ending to Playing For Keeps, I think we will see more of Charlotte and Dalton, it’s a cliffhanger and unfinished for sure. Either way, All Hall The Mighty JP lol
Jessica Prince is back with another fantastic small town romance read, Playing for Keeps is the 10th book from her Hope Valley series and it brings us readers the story of Charlotte and Dalton.
Charlotte’s life hasn’t been easy, she’s endured more hurt than most, after losing her parents at a young age it’s been one thing or another, as a result she’s built walls around herself with the mindset to keep those at an arm's length, protecting her heart in the long run.
One terrible situation in particular sees Charlotte being badly hurt, it happens whilst she’s under the protection of Dalton, he may have his hands full when it comes to looking after her yet he wants nothing but the best for her, day after day he makes it his mission to try and show Charlotte just how much she’s come to mean to him and prove to her that she deserves to have all that’s good in her life as she’s a woman filled with nothing but goodness and deserves the world and more, if she would only let him in, he’d like to be the man to give her it.
One thing you should know about Dalton is he’s a man playing for keeps, he’s no intention of losing, especially when it comes to Charlotte. She might try to keep Dalton at arms length, but when ghosts from her past appear bringing danger with them Charlotte realises that Dalton’s the one she wants by her side, there’s no other person she feels safer with than the man she has fallen in love with, and now she’s ready to let him in.
If Hope Valley was a real place, I’d be hightailing it there pronto...strong, sassy, likeable women I want to be friends with and eye candy for days!
Cowboy and Thumbelina, otherwise known as Dalton and Charlotte had such a gut wrenching beginning in the previous book in the series, and initially things weren’t looking much better for them here. (If you haven’t read the previous book, don’t worry, you’ll get caught up reading this one.)
Charlotte tries so hard to keep Dalton at arms length because she feels undeserving. She continues to push him away every time he attempts to pull her close, believing the filth she associated with in the past is part of her and will rub off on him.
Dalton refuses to give up and his no nonsense, take charge, alpha male attitude is seriously hot! He needs her to see herself the way he sees her, the way everyone else sees her.
You can’t help but feel empathetic toward Charlotte and everything she’s been through, but wow, she was one lucky girl to have Dalton making sure she knew her worth. The chemistry and heat between these two definitely made the pages of this book sizzle!
It wouldn’t be Hope Valley without some danger, violence and mystery, and while we certainly get a happy ending, we also know there’s more to come.
The witty dialogue was so entertaining and the antics of a certain quirky neighbour had me in stitches! Although, I feel like I’m repeating myself with every book, I think this one is my new favourite.
Jessica Prince has a way with small town romance that indisputably makes her a master of this trope. Each book she writes in any given town she imagines, every page is like being wrapped up in a loving hug and a feeling of peace that makes you feel like each town is “home”.
Charlie has had a hard life and has built a fortress around her heart with every intention of forever keeping it out of reach because she can’t handle anymore hurt than the lifetime she’s already been dealt.
Dalton knew Charlie was his and as he waited in wings for her to finally realize it he was all sorts of growly protective alpha hero with enough swoon and swagger to melt ovaries across the nation.
The connection between Dalton and Charlie is palpable but once Charlie finally gives Dalton a chance they are downright combustible. They had this easiness between them that made it feel as though instead of just getting started they had known one another for an eternity.
Playing for Keeps pulls you into the cozy town of Hope Valley and within pages it feels like you never left. A breathtaking blend of intoxicating chemistry, a strong heroine, a protective alpha hero, heartbreak, heartwarming, and a rendering of a broken soul finding her place in the small quirky town of Hope Valley.
I am so conflicted about this book. Please know that I love the Hope Valley series, it is my re-read whenever I'm on a bookslum. Also, I adore ... like really ADORE JP and thus it hurts that I couldn't love this book as much as I love the previous ones (I believed this is the only book in this series that I gave a 3 star rating).
What what wrong (at least for me personally). I couldn't connect to this book for most 50% from the beginning. Both MCs grate me the wrong way. I find Charlotte annoying in the beginning (I'm so sorry! *insert sad face*) and I really want to kick Dalton in the nuts most times. I just couldn't get behind these two being together and I was ready to throw my Kindle at the wall. I was frustrated but then slowly as the story develops my feelings and thoughts changed. I couldnt say when or which exact point but after the messy beginning (again, at least for me) the storyline flowed better and I began to have more empathy towards Charlotte. Dalton grew on me too and I felt his sincerity in being the best partner for Charlotte.
So in the end, I did enjoy the book and I'm now even looking forward (and hoping) to read new development on a new character. If you're a fan of this series or a fan of JP, I still do highly recommend you 1-click this book.

Playing for Keeps is book 10 in Hope Valley series by Jessica Prince. This is Charlotte (Charlie) aka Thumbelina and Dalton aka Cowboy's story. Theirs is such a emotionally heart-wrenching story at times. It definitely starts off in a hopeless and painful way for Charlie. She has had such a hard life. Because of how bad her life has been, she has had to make sure she has her heart encased with shatter-proof material. But she wasn't expecting Dalton to come along and test that shatter proof material surrounding her heart, nor trying to make Charlie see that she really was wanted. Charlie tried so hard to keep Dalton away from her because of some messed up logic which made sort of sense that she wasn't worthy because of her past would affect her present and taint anything she touched and make it dirty. It wasn't true but to Charlie, she believed it so it was true. Dalton refused to give up and oh yes, his hot AF alpha male self was in full effect and he showed Charlie how she was wanted and that she was beautiful, needed as only Dalton could. There was danger, action, excitement, suspense, passion, angst, drama and that Hope Valley small town feel that I enjoy reading each and every book. The romance is still sizzling, hot and full of chemistry. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Once again Ms. Prince has written a book that had my emotions all over the place. Dalton and Charlotte’s story is not an easy one. Charlotte is a woman that has lost so much and isn’t sure what to do with the women of Hope Valley as they’ve brought her into their fold. My heart physically hurt for her and not knowing what to do with the love and friendship that’s being offered to her. And Dalton is not a man to be denied that’s for sure… he just needs to figure out a way to break the invisible shield Charlotte has put around herself, which according to her is for his own good.
But her heart so wants to have this love that he’s offering and just when it looks like she might let him in, their path to love is put in danger and could end before they’ve experienced the beauty of what true and abiding love can do for their lives. One of the things I love so much about this series, and really all books by Ms. Prince is that there’s always a twist I’m not expecting and when it comes in this book, man oh man, my heart was beating triple time!! When I turned the last page, my heart was beating semi-regularly again, and I had a huge smile on my face…but I have questions and I’m looking forward to getting all the answers!!
Charlotte Belmont has had a life filled with regrets and wrong decisions but after a man she thought she trusted turned out to be another vile mistake, Charlotte did everything she could to fix it. It ended up almost costing her her life, but she has knows she has righted a wrong. During that time though she was put under Dalton Prescott's care to keep her protected, until she took matters into her own hands.
Months later Dalton still wants answers as to why Charlotte ran. Problem is Charlotte keeps pushing him away and although Dalton is biding his time though. He knows Charlotte is meant to be his but Charlotte has walls he is trying to knock down. What happens when Charlotte does take a chance on Dalton, cans she trust him fully or will it hold her back?
I wasn't sure if I would like Charlottes story as she was introduced in the previous book and you didn't really have a lot of her back history. I was thrown for a loop with Charlotte, she is a wonderful character who just has had no one really by her side. Dalton was different then what I expected he is honed in solely on Charlotte and sees all of her and the wonderful person she is. Amazing story.
This book was very much anticipated after I read the last book in this series and the author did not disappoint. This series has a lot of books and I feel the quality is just as good for the newer ones as it was for the ones in the very beginning, which is sometimes rare for me to find with a series this long! I loved Charlotte’s independent nature and I loved seeing Dalton’s protective side towards her. The side characters in this book had me cracking up and I love the witty humor that Jessica always puts into her books. This story had a light hearted feel to it, which kept me smiling throughout, but it also had that bit of mystery and suspense that I always crave. It was the perfect mixture. I read this entire book in one sitting, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one! 🤭❤️
I don't know how she does it but this is the tenth book and I am still so in love with this series from Jessica Prince. We were given a glimpse into the world of Dalton and Charlotte in the last book. Charlotte sees herself as a "bad seed"/bad luck/just plain no good. Dalton only sees her as beautiful and some one to be treasured. He has his work cut out for him, not only mentally and emotionally but physically to convince her otherwise. It would kill him to see her in danger once more. Charlotte is lost in her own head between doubts and desires. She longs for Dalton but does not want to see him hurt. These two have such explosive chemistry but the walls that Charlotte has built around her heart are tall and strong but so is Dalton. This one pulled on my heartstrings because of my own lack of self worth at times. I love Charlotte but I just feel we need to help poor Dalton show her that love sees past our flaws.
