He’s her best friend. A reformed bad boy turned hot teacher. And after one spur-of-the-moment Vegas wedding... her husband.
Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry have been best friends since they were six. He’s always been The Guy. When she needed picked up, cheered up, or lifted up — like literally, to see the stage at a concert — Fletcher was the guy.
So when her boyfriend dumps her — on national TV — Fletcher immediately gets on a plane and comes to her rescue.
And when she ends up in a Vegas wedding chapel and needs someone to say, “I do” …yep, Fletcher’s the guy. Of course.
But being The Guy 24/7 is a lot. He just wants everyone to give him a freaking minute to get this marriage thing right. Including his sexy, sweet new wife who he’s wanted for three years. Who is exasperatingly, temptingly all-in from minute one.
Jordan knows what she wants. A life in her hometown. A job with alpacas. And Fletcher. Not necessarily in that order.
They’ve said the vows. They’d told the world. They’ve told their grandmas. Forget taking things slow. Forget just heavy petting. Forget any chance of backing out when things get tough. They’re going to have to go all the way, in every way.
After all, friends becoming lovers should be the easiest thing in the world. Right?

If you are a part of my Super Fan page on Facebook you know that Jordan and Fletcher gave me some trouble! (yes, I whined about it! lol!)
Typically, friends to lovers romances are so easy to write! And so much fun! Heavy Petting *was* fun (I always have fun when I can hang out on the bayou and I got to add in alpacas this time! Come on! How could that not be fun?!) but one of my friends finally put her finger on why Fletcher and Jordan were not as easy as I'd expected. They aren't just a friends to lovers romance... they are BEST friends to lovers. These two know *everything* about the other. Except in one very important area of their lives-- the bedroom. And all of their history, and everything they know, and everything they'd been through together definitely made adding sex into the equation a little, um, complicated! lol!
But...in the end, all of the worry and late nights and long hours at the keyboard were worth it! Jordan and Fletcher figured it all out (with a little help from their friends...and a few alpacas!) and they definitely found their happily ever after!
I hope you're excited to read their story and to see what new craziness is going on down on the bayou! That's one thing I know for sure with every book... there will be shenanigans! ❤
Animals, Landry's, and the bayou...oh my. We're back and Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild is growing. Also, if you thought Fletcher Landry was dreamry as the sweet teacher helping his students, hold on to your panties because Mr. Landry is one hot husband when it comes to learning everything about his new wife.
Jordan and Fletcher have been friends since kindergarten, they know basically everything about one another, so when Jordan gets publicly dumped Fletcher is there to catch her. He didn't exactly intend to marry her when he arrived in Vegas, but when in Vegas get married....okay, that's not exactly the saying, but Fletcher will do anything for Jordan and these two are full of chemistry and a ton of fun. Did I mention Fletcher will do anything...well read the book and find out for yourself what heavy petting implies.
Fletcher and Jordan may have known one another for twenty years, but his feelings of more only went deeper in the last few years and now that he's aware of Jordan as more than just his best friend he wants to get to know her as a woman and not the girl who puked on him or pulled pranks with from his youth. He feels immense pressure to separate the two, but when he dove into marriage head first before actually dating her, how does he put the brakes on his wife?
Jordan has only dated one man her entire life, when that relationship goes belly up, she's ready to move on and she wants to move on now. Fletcher is the man for her, but how can she make him see that she's already waited twenty years and she's ready to begin the next phase of her life now.
As for the animals, which have been a huge added bonus to this series; alpacas are the featured beloved animal in this book. Erin has done an amazing job to not only bring each animal their own personality, but tons of information surrounding their care and support. I love the joy that comes from within the book as we read along with the characters and then again as the readers rally around who is popping up in the next book. We never can get enough when it comes to wanting more. Animals do bring us huge joy and comfort and I love that it translates into her books as well.
Coming back to Louisiana, being around all the animals and the Landry family, is one of my favorite things to do. Fletcher's brothers are a total hoot, I can hardly wait to see how their love stories are going to play out. There are even glimpses into more storylines that pop up in this book and I'm so excited to read all of them. This whole series is whipping up to be so much fun.
5 Plus-It's All About The Middle Stars * * * * * PLUS PLUS STARS, OK! Spoiler Free, I PROMISE Ok, I have PROMISED to not spoil this for you and although it will be really hard, I will do my best. The reason I have gone nutso and love this book so much is that it is so real in the most straightforward way. Have I said So enough for ya, hahahahahha.
Set aside the main thrust of why Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry are together, meaning Jordan Benoit gets dumped on national TV by her boyfriend Jason of eleven years who has risen and become the big country music star. Really, in Real Life, most of us do not have these types of people in our lives. Fletcher Landry, however, is more of the real deal as he is a teacher and works with the Landrys at the new Wildlife Petting Zoo. (The new zoo also becomes important and that part of the storyline is perfect and should be honored in how it was worked into this story and hopefully open some eyes to new possibilities.)
Our premise is Fletcher and Jordan go back to childhood as best buddies and through the years, Fletcher has done everything he can to make things good for Jordan. Through the Teen years, through the College times, and most recently Fletcher has wanted to be much more than besties. He will still do whatever he can to make sure Jordan is happy as that has always been his goal.
When Fletcher physically sees this car crash happening to Jordan live on TV, he is moving to get to Vegas as soon as he can to be there for Jordan. Now the blurb sets everything up and you know they get married. No Spoiler there. They have some moments of connecting and surprisingly enough some tingles and thoughts from Jordan are not of the best friend kind but more. Which can make total sense because of their history.
Now they go back to Fletcher's and Jordan's home with Miss Ellie and Cora and all the crew. It is there where the REAL LIFE story starts to happen. It is where learning to love someone all the time, not just in a moment to make things right happens and People, this is where you will lose your mind and fall so hard for this couple your eyes will cross.
Erin Nicholas takes what is part of REAL LIFE and turns it into the sexiest, hot, revealing, and smartest relationship building I have ever read. There is confusion, there is discovery, there is the sense of wonder and excitement to getting this relationship/marriage thing right. We get to be there when all of the baby steps and miss-steps are happening.
We get the benefit of All the Landrys' wisdom and there is plenty of it. As someone who was married for many many many years, this book should be pitched as a marriage manual, and not just for the wisdom. It shows how important learning about your partner in all ways matters.
So I am not Spoiling this book for you, as much as I would love to go on and on and on. Instead, I am going to just say, BUY AND READ THE DAMN BOOK, OK...
Also, we have more Landrys finding their person. Yay!

Heavy Petting (Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild #2)- May 25, 2021
A gifted copy was provided by the author/publisher for an honest review.
5 star review Heavy Petting (Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild #2) by Erin Nicholas From the first chapter to the last I was riveted to the story she wove about Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry. There were so many laugh out loud moments whilst reading this book that my husband thought I was crazy. I laughed so much at times that I was almost in tears. Jordan and Fletcher have been friends since they were six years old and have always been there for one another. When she is publicly humiliated by her ex boyfriend, Fletcher immediately gets on a plane to help her out. However the next thing they know is they are married. What will happen? Can these friends who have feelings for one another make their marriage work or are they destined to fail and ruin their friendship? I really liked both Jordan and Fletcher, she is so much fun and I can easily see her as a friend. It was heart warming to watch their friendship turn into an intense, passionate lasting love. This is a story that will surprise you, make you laugh and at times bring you to tears. It was an entertaining read and one I loved.
Fletcher Landry and Jordan Benoit have been best friends friends for twenty years but one steamy kiss and a Vegas Wedding later and they are so much more. This is one friends-to-lovers story you don't want to miss! Fletcher and Jordan are one of my favorite couples this year. Fletcher is a swoony elementary school teacher who just wants to take care of everyone (but especiallyJordan!!). Jordan is my favorite kind of heroine: smart, sassy and sweet. Plus there's plenty of oh-so-steamy scenes, Landry family shenanigans, alpacas, otters and more!
Heavy Petting gave me the best kind of book hangover. Erin Nicholas has created a world that I just didn't want to leave. Definitely worthy of more than five stars!!
“The beginning and the end just hold the good stuff together. What really makes something something is the middle.”
Erin Nicholas gets better and better with each book in this series. I absolutely loved Fletcher and Jordan’s story. It was such a fun, heartfelt, feel good story and I can’t get enough of that Landry family.
“When I first fell in love with you was twenty years ago when you tied my shoes at recess.”
Fletcher and Jordan have been best friends since they were six years old and Fletcher has always made everything better for Jordan. They tell each other everything, but three years ago, things changed and Fletcher realized he was in love with his best friend. Problem is that she has a boyfriend. When that boyfriend publically humiliates her, it’s Fletcher to the rescue and they end up married. How will these two transition from best friends to a married couple?
Fletcher is swoonworthy. He puts so much pressure on himself to make everything perfect for Jordan and thinks he’s only good at grand gestures. Can he learn how to do the in between stuff that makes a marriage?
Jordan is completely all in once her relationship is over and she realizes that Fletcher is the one who is always there for her. She’s fun and sassy and so excited about her new life. I loved her.
“You are an exception to every rule.”
Fletcher and Jordan are absolutely adorable. They know everything about each other yet marriage reveals that there is still a lot left to learn. Watching them discover how to navigate from friends to lovers was so much fun and warms the reader’s heart because they are perfect for one another.
Heavy Petting is just a good time and now I cannot wait for Zeke’s story. I’m sure it’s going to be a wild ride.
This is book 2 in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series. Fletcher and Jordan have been best friends since they were 6 years old. When they were 15, Jordan started dating Jason (who is now a rising country star) and they’ve been together for the last 11 years. There was one kiss three years ago stopped by Jordan and she also turned Fletcher down 4 months ago when he asked her to stay with him instead of going on tour with Jason. The story starts when Jason flubs a marriage proposal to Jordan by calling her the wrong name on stage during a televised concert. After watching the train wreck proposal on tv, Fletcher leaves immediately for Vegas to rescue her (because that’s what he does) and the rescuing ends up in a wedding chapel with them getting married. No one in their hometown is surprised that they are married but their path to their HEA, much like any accidental Vegas marriage trope, is how to navigate from the surprise wedding to the true marriage and partnership. This book has the added twist of also being best friends to lovers. The book does a phenomenal job of taking us on the journey of Fletcher and Jordan as they struggle to transition from knowing too much about each other because they’ve been best friends for 20 years to now being married even though they’ve never “dated.” While Fletcher and Jordan follow the inevitable path to being together, it is painfully hilarious but also beautiful to watch their growth and missteps. The story has plenty of hilarity, steamy scenes, sweet moments, and small town goodness. It is filled with loud, larger than life bayou characters and situations, simmering and overwhelming feelings, and so many cute animals, all wrapped up in so much heart squeezing love. The smaller storyline of the petting zoo/educational wildlife sanctuary that started in the first book continues here and I am loving the animals and what the family is building. I cannot wait to see what is next for the rest of the Landry family in this series. And blue food will definitely cause smirking from now on.
Wow, wow, wow! Heavy Petting had me hooked from page one. Heck I was hooked after reading the end of Otterly Irresistible when I learned what was going to be the premise of Heavy Petting. Fletcher and Jordan's story was so much fun to read. There were things I had no clue were coming and surprised me...and maybe even Fletcher too! Erin weaves a story that will make you laugh, make your eyes fill with happy tears and will tug at your heartstrings. I just love friends to lovers stories and Fletcher and Jordan are the very best of friends. When a trip to Galveston a few years back turns Fletcher's feelings for Jordan in to something more, he doesn't handle her long term relationship with Jason very well. And when Jordan is left stranded in Vegas after a very publicly botched proposal, Fletcher swoops in to save the day. And that's where the real story starts--and maybe makes Fletcher freak out. Again, so much fun to read!!! I highly recommend you grab (or pre-order) Heavy Petting right now!
I have always loved to read. Years ago, when I dusted off my Kindle and started to read every day, Erin Nicholas was one if the first authors I binge read. I love her writing and she'll always be an author whose books releases I mark on my calendar and eagerly await.
Heavy Petting is Nicholas' next book in her new Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series. The book can be read as a stand alone story but do yourself a favor and go back and read her earlier titles. Characters from earlier series walk through other books.
Fletcher Landry has always been a bad boy, but not too bad. He and the other kids in the Landry family grew up together on the bayou and always got up into mischief. Fletcher has reformed his ways and is now a third grade teacher. A hot third grade teacher.
Jordan is a sweetheart. She grew up on the bayou and became best friends with Fletcher early in grade school. Fletcher has always been there for her as a best friend and protector. They talk nearly every day. Jordan became a teacher as well. But when her boyfriend, an up and coming country singer, wants to move to Nashville, Jordan leaves the bayou and goes with him. When that boyfriend botches a marraige proposal on national tv by calling her another woman's name, Fletcher takes off to Las Vegas to be there for Jordan.
Several years ago, Fletcher's feelings for Jordan started to change. When Jordan's life falls apart, Fletcher is there to pick up the pieces but he is done hiding how he really feels. When they wind up in a wedding chapel and say I do, Fletcher realizes that now he's not just protector and fixer, he's the 24/7 guy and he needs to get this right. Jordan just wants to go back home to the bayou, work with the alpacas at the Landry's educational petting zoo and be with Fletcher. Don't forget their very involved families.
Heavy Petting is great story. There's family, love, hot swexy times and animals. We can't forget the animals. It's definitely a book you don't want to miss.
Jordan Benoit walked out onto the stage during her boyfriend of eleven years, up and coming country music star Jason Young's concert expecting to be proposed to. The words that came out of Jason's mouth were, "Will you marry me, Viv?" OUCH! The fans were shocked. Jordan ran off stage and escaped to her hotel suite. Meanwhile Fletcher Landry, her BFF was back in Autre, Louisiana sitting in his grandmother's bar with his whole family watching the whole debacle. Then WHAM! Fletcher is on the first plane he can find to Las Vegas. He's going to bring Jordan home to her family and friends. When Jordan and Fletcher exit the hotel elevator they are mobbed by the Jason Young fans there with Jason. After making up a story for the crowd to try to salvage Jason's music career Jordan and Fletcher flee the lobby and escape through a door into... a wedding chapel. And that's how it all began.
Fletcher Landry has been best friends with Jordan Benoit since they were six years old. It wasn't until they were fifteen and Jordan began dating Jason Young that Fletcher started to realize he was starting to lose his best friend. Eleven years later the Jordan-Jason arrangement ends. Thank goodness! Fletcher races to the rescue after the public proposal fiasco in Vegas. Things were different now. Jordan was "single." At first Fletcher thought he would give Jordan some space for now but Fletcher had known for at least three years he was in love with Jordan. Their escape route through the casino wedding chapel was quite fortuitous. And that's how it all began...
Heavy Petting by Erin Nicholas is the second book in her Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series. Ms. Nicholas always comes through with an entertaining story. In this case she made me laugh with all the crazy additions to the petting zoo/on its way to being an animal park. I liked reading about the escaped goats herded by Jordan's border collie puppy, Benny, especially the places Benny herds the goats to. A beauty parlor? This story seemed to be a little more serious than many of Erin Nicholas' stories I have read. It wasn't all fun times and had some angst with Fletcher not being sure of himself. Not typical Fletcher Landry. I loved this and all the light-hearted moments as well. Looks like Fletcher's brother Zeke will be meeting his match in the next book in the series. Can't wait.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Holy crawfish! Fletcher has taken the whole friends-to-lovers genre and schooled every other hero who thought the knew their female bestie. His protectiveness, his vulnerability and his determination to make everything was totally swoon-worthy. If not a bit unrealistic! Jordan was very sweet, almost too sweet at some points in the book. While I didn’t necessarily want her to be witchy or vindictive, I would rather have seen her not spin the truth to make someone else look better. But they are smoking hot and just too adorable for words. Not to give plot points away, but when Zeke and Zander rag on Fletcher about pieces of Jordan’s past that he thinks he knows…but doesn’t…was brilliant! I love siblings and friends who love one another and trust each other enough to mercilessly tease them. That right there is real family dynamics! Honestly, I think this is my favorite book by Erin Nicholas…and I’ve read them all! Fletcher just hits all this romance lovers buttons. If only he existed outside the pages of a book. Five stars is just not enough!
Erin Nicholas has hit pay dirt with this series. She has created new heroes that I have fallen in love with and heroines I want to be best friends with. And it all happens in a world that I had my bags packed to move there before. This is a friends to much more trope focusing on Fletcher and Jordan. They have been friends since they were six. They have so many memories, good ones and extremely embarrassing ones. But just when Fletcher discovered Jordan was an actual girl, another swooped in and stole her heart. Eleven years later and that relationship explodes on national television. That leaves Fletcher wide open to fulfill his every wish about Jordan. And boy does he go all in fast. I loved this story from Fletcher saving the day to Jordan teaching him everything he never knew about her. The friends to more trope is a tough one for me to get around since there is no “I never knew that about you” since they usually do. But while Fletcher and Jordan share more than the average M/F friendship, there are many things that they protected each other from. The way that Erin Nicholas writes these two is more than awesome. She makes them be more than their own friendship bubble. She writes them with more.
Best friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Erin Nicholas is one of my favorite authors. You see where I'm going, here. I adored this book! It was sweet and charming and seriously sexy. The cast of characters dives right into your heart. Perfect summer read!
I don't think I have quite the right words to express just how much I loved this story. I thought Jordan and Fletcher were perfect together, and loved that they had years and years of a solid and amazing friendship to help as they navigated their new romantic relationship. Fletcher was 100% swoon-worthy in the lengths he would go to in order to make Jordan happy and to just be her person. I enjoyed reading about how much Jordan thrived being back on the bayou and with the animals.
I really enjoy the author's writing style. I love reading about the animals, the bayou, and the Landry family, and I loved revisiting them in this story. You can't help but want to be part of their world. The author has done a fantastic job creating characters and a place that you can't help but fall in love with. Heavy Petting was one epic best friends to so very much more story!!! I can't wait for more Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild!!
Heavy Petting is a smile waiting to be unleashed. Unfortunately, it takes a few heartaches to find that burst of sunshine. Fletcher and Jordan are an adorable combination of clueless and tempting. Meant to be has always been on the horizon, but the timing was never quite right. Nicholas drags hearts into a frustrating dance of hilarious dialogue, spicy attraction and irresistible romance.
This is part of a series and the family group is immense and overlapping, including those from a precursor series. Other couples are very present and important. You don't have to read in order, but you'll likely get more out of it if you do.
I'm ditching out a bit before halfway. They're in love. They're married. They've been living in each others' pockets for years and years as very close best friends. All that's left for conflict is them freaking each other out and delaying communication enough to have some tension. And I'm just not feeling it. The tension so far has felt manufactured and a little bit stupid. And I'm not interested in more.
I'm going to give this a second star just because I love the setup so much. Yeah, they were dumb not to figure out that they belong together sooner, but they're cute and I love how well-matched they are. And how supportive. And Fletcher. He's dreamy. He gets a star for his very own.
Favorite! Oh My Goodness!! Jordan and Fletcher’s story had everything you want in a romance. This best friends to lovers had me laughing and crying and it definitely brings the right amount of heat! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
My love for the boys of the Bayou started with Josh Landry in My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding. Then came his siblings and cousins and the deliciousness continued. And if you thought that this was enough, you are so mistaken. Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild brought us even more “delicious” characters (if that is even possible) along with a Petting Zoo full of adorable animals. From otters, to alpacas and even some penguins in the near future.
Fletcher Landry (one of the most “delicious” Landry boys, he is a teacher for goodness’ sake) decides to save his best friend Jordan from a really embarrassing situation and he ends up marrying her. They are in Vegas afterall.
Jordan Benoit ends up marrying her best friend after he sweeped in to save her from the public’s eye (being dumped on National TV might put you in the spotlight for the wrong reasons) and she doesn’t regret it at all. But is it easy to get your Happily Ever After just like that?
I will tell you. It is definitely not and Fletcher and Jordan will find out the hard way. With the help of the Landry family which never disappoints and always supports their own. Like grandma Ellie advised: “Enjoy getting to know each other this way. Just necking and heavy petting can be damned good”. Along with grandpa Leo’s advice using a sandwich metaphor: “What really makes something something is the middle”. Did you get it? Sandwich? Middle? (Read Heavy Petting for more relationship advice from The Grandparents!).
Sometimes it takes more than a wedding to reach your HEA and maybe even a sloth or a porcupine need to be involved.
Loved, loved, loved this book! This book is a perfect example of a friends to lovers story. With a friend like Fletcher I don’t know how you couldn’t fall for him. And Jordan was pretty darn great too. I loved that there was no secrets between these two and they knew everything-good and bad- about each other and loved each other regardless. And holy cow the “heavy petting” scenes were absolute perfection. Seriously them taking it slow was almost better than when they actually got down to business. These two friends were so hot and the attraction between them was wow, how these two ignored it for so long I do not know( ok I do because she was with someone but you know what I mean) There are so many stand out moments of this book. The scenes with Fletcher, Zeke, Zander, and Mitch- I was laughing so much. Those guys are hilarious! Fletcher with his students, his love of teaching comes through with how he interacts with them. I love seeing Jordan with Charlie and Naomi, and throwing Fiona in the mix is hilarious. I am loving this new spinoff series and can not wait for Zeke’s story next.
Fletcher and Jordan gave me all the feels, a few tears and then left me a heart melted, swooning pile of happiness. This read and this series delivers on every single thing you want from a great rom-com and then just because the author is skilled and crafty, she ups the game anyway and takes things to a whole other level of superb awesomeness. The characters are complex and endearing, the story is fun and involving, the emotions are deep and plentiful, the drama is heart tugging and tension inducing, the humor is charming and heart felt and the heat sultry and soulful. Add in heaping helpings of cute and sweet, strong family ties, small town appeal, sprinkles of quirkiness, supporting characters that are lovable and unforgettable, colorful bits of crazy and zany and a irresistible menagerie of adorable, scene stealing animals and you have a thoroughly delightful, extremely potent and highly addictive combination that will have you desperate to return to the bayou, to Autre and to The Landry's again and again and again.
Years ago in my corporate life, I had a mentor tell me, “And after this, the laundry.” Although I haven’t thought about it in years, it came to mind as I got to know our hero, Griffin Landry.
Griffin is great at swooping in and saving the day. He's great at grand gestures. He excels at rescuing. But it's the day-to-day nitty gritty where he's uncertain, and he wants to get every aspect and nuance exactly right when it comes to his life-long best friend and new wife, Jordan. Except they jumped right from BFFs to marriage and kind of skipped that whole in-between part. And perfection is a pretty high standard to live up to.
I swear, the more I visit Autre, LA, and the Landry clan, the more I need more! More of this big, messy, fun-loving family who always has each other's backs and doles out teasing and unconditional love and support in equal measure. If I could choose only one book world to be real, it would be this one, and I’d peel out of my driveway to move there lickety-split and leave a patch of rubber in my wake. And P.S., I want to be Ellie Landry when I get to be her age.
These characters all own a huge piece of real estate in my heart, but can we talk about the animals? They're everything! Largely a hodgepodge of misfits with a few physical imperfections and personality quirks, they make me tear up and smile all at once and squeeze my heart in the most exquisite way. And the parallels between human and animal needs and they way they help each other heal is, quite possibly, the most beautiful, special part of this book.
If you’re new to these bayou heros and sheroes, run, don’t walk, to the 1-Click. I ga-run-tee (said in my best Cajun accent) the hours you spend in this world will be better than the tastiest beignets or chicory coffee around, and you won’t regret a second. And if you've visited Autre before, you probably waited up until midnight for this one to show up on your Kindle.
While plenty of madcap hilarity ensues, the great big helping of bayou heart, the warm sense of family and community, and the Landry boys who are a lot like a box of rambunctious puppies will have you grinning like a ‘gator while your heart happy sighs all over itself!
I was already deeply in love with all of the Landry Family, and I thought nothing could make them any better. But guess what? Children can and always will. And a full class of adorable third graders was exactly the right cherry on top of it! Friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes but you normally only get to know the part until the marriage or when the finally get together. And as Ellie says to her grandson Fletcher, marriage is not the end, it's just the middle. So I was sooo sooo happy to get to see the middle part of this beautiful relationship blossom from really close friends to even closer lovers. Fletcher is so relatable in not knowing how to take care of middles and freaking out about it and Jordan is amazing in showing him he already knows how to do them. Don't even get me started on the animals, they are just getting more and more adorable. And only because they are all amazing but as they become more and more the amount of cuteness is going in overload!
I cannot wait to meet the penguins and see how Zeke falls head over heels!
I love being back with the Landry family and I was excited to read Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry’s friends to lovers story. This is a story with all the feels and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences, it’s a captivating story with some very funny laugh out moments. Jordan and Fletcher have been best friends since they were 6 years old, they always had each others backs so when Jordan is publicly humiliated by her ex boyfriend, Fletcher jumps on a plane to come to her rescue. What’s starts as a friend coming to her rescue ends up with a marriage certificate in their hands so what happens from here, do they pursue a future as husband and wife or do they end up just best friends..... This couple are easy to love and it’s a wonderful journey watching them their friendship go to a passionate love story. As you would expect from this author there is plenty to make you laugh, make you giggle but more importantly make you love everything about this perfect addition to the Boys of Bayou Gone Wild Series. This is a captivating read and I highly recommend to all romance lovers.
Heavy Petting is about Fletcher and his best friend since kindergarten, Jordan. When Jordan is publicly dumped (ON TV!) Fletcher immediately flies out to Vegas to be there for her and do whatever he can to fix things. One thing leads to another and suddenly they’re getting married in a Vegas chapel.
But that’s when Fletcher panics. He’s spent most of his life being Jordan’s hero and coming in to save the day. Won’t Jordan get sick of him when he can’t deliver that everyday? And so they tap on the breaks and focus on dating…some heavy petting.
And I loved it. Heavy Petting really gets into the heart of relationships. How even someone who has been your best friend for 20 years may have some secrets and wishes that you don’t know about. Fletcher and Jordan communicated so well and their connection was so heartwarming. How can you not love a man who works so hard to make his partner happy?
Heavy Petting was sweet, loving, adorable, and sexy. Every book in this series is fantastic and I can’t wait for the next.
I absolutely LOVED Heavy Petting by Erin Nicholas.
Imagine Erin Nicholas's books as catnip and me as the cat... Heavy Petting is the top-grade stuff, my friends! I smiled and laughed and grinned the entire read, and then? I returned to page one and started again!
Heavy Petting is the second in Ms Nicholas's Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series, set in Autre, Louisiana. It's a friends-to-lovers, married in Vegas, small-town, big family, HUGE fun contemporary. Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry have been friends for more than two decades. Since they met, they've been close, and Fletcher has had a lifetime of stepping up and being considerate of Jordan's needs, whether it's a smile, a lift, or...a husband. They've always gotten along like a house on fire, so being married should be easy-peasy, right?
Erin Nicholas writes this couple's transition from friends to lovers so beautifully. I loved seeing how they navigated the not-always-clear path from being buddies to way, WAY more. We see Fletcher wrestle with the pressure he feels to be Jordan's hero, and Jordan's uncertainty as she works to make a space for herself not just as half of a couple but as a whole and independent woman. Ms Nicholas's characters leap off the page as always, and the Landry clan's wisdom and laughter and warmth are brilliant as well.
Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to savor this thoroughly satisfying read--Heavy Petting is heavy on the joy, and you won't want to miss a single word.
I love this series so much! I am so glad Erin Nicholas wrote these spin off books. It all seems like one big continuing series to me and I absolutely am on board with that and loving it. Fletcher and Jordan are just amazing together. I love when a long term friendship finally shifts and becomes the endgame for the couple. It's so sweet how Fletcher has always been there for Jordan and then comes through for her in the biggest of ways. All that "heavy petting" is so sexy. I can see why Jordan is so "hot for teacher". Every moment of this book was fantastic and either had me smiling or swooning. I adore this couple so much and all of the good they want to do and are doing together for animals and children. I love all of the sweet animals we get to experience in this story like all the others. And of course getting all of these Landrys together anytime is just fantastic. After that teaser for the next book, I can't wait to see what happens next!!
Fletcher has been there for Jordan for many years, whenever she needed him, he was there. He was and is her best friend, So when her relationship goes south, he comes to save her. Only this time, he makes sure, she is always his. This story is absolutely amazing, Fletcher and Jordan are awesome, add their friends and family into mix and it's Fantastic. I laugh so much reading this book. Erin do not disappoint. Funny, wonderful, awesome, amazing.
Your childhood best friend just broke up with her long time boyfriend on National TV...what do you do? You fly to Las Vegas to save the day of course! Fletcher has been in love with his best friend for years and now that Jordan is single will she feel the same? Oh Erin! Nothing like jumping right into the fire!!! That’s what I love About her books, no long drawn out introductions. We meet the characters and get right to the story and best of all the excitement! I loved How devoted Fletcher was to making everything perfect for Jordan. Jordan came home and didn’t miss a beat, she got right to work and found a passion. I’m never disappointed in both the chemistry factor and the laugh out loud moments! The family banter alone keeps me coming back for more. I can’t Wait for Zeke to have his time to shine. I’m really looking forward to reading his book.
“My feelings about listening have never stopped anyone named Landry before.”
Best friends since childhood, a Las Vegas wedding and so many laugh out loud moments that your side will hurt.
If you hadn’t married her, I would have slapped you upside the head and asked what the hell was wrong with you.” Another Landry bites the dust. Fletcher and Jordan are trying to figure out how to be married after a lifetime of friendship.
“We were always hoping we’d catch you two kissing. Or more,” Zander added. “But we got some awesome insights into girls by listening to Jordan.”
This is a fun read that you can’t put down.
“Yeah, you’re fine,” Leo agreed. “You’re a Landry. We’ve been wading into gunk and then hosing ourselves off for generations.”
Heavy Petting is a fabulous friends to lovers story, you will be hooked from the very first page. This is why Erin Nicholas is one of my all time favorite authors. Fletcher and Jordan will make you laugh, cry and leave you wanting for more. There is just something about Louisiana, the Laundry family and all of the animals that make this story complete.
