Ride hard. Love harder. Live recklessly.

Tank is done with his old life. All it's brought him is trouble and misery in the form of a four-year prison term. Though he did find one good thing while behind bars: Charles "CJ" Crane, pen pal extraordinaire.

After months of exchanging increasingly personal letters, Tank knows exactly where he's headed as soon as the prison gates open. CJ doesn't know he's coming, and he's not sure what he'll say when he gets there, but he knows one thing for certain.

The promises he and his boy made to each other in their letters may have been reckless, but he's willing to risk everything he’s got on finding out if what they have could be real.

Reckless is the first book in the Leather & Chrome series and features a motorcycle club's annual charity ride, a possessive biker whose new favorite color is pink, a twenty-four-year-old overly eager to experience his first time, and an excessive appreciation for perfectly lined tattoos.

This is a case of it's not the book it's me. Only got to 43% of it so no rating. 🧐🧐

Reckless was a beautiful idea that was executed in a way that made my inner old lady rant nonstop. I'll proceed to explain my reasons:

- This is the most insta I've ever read, the only tropes that compare to this are shifter ones and that's saying a lot. Tank subscribed himself to a penpal program from prison and there he met CJ, they exchanged letters and became more than friends. The problem is the story didn't start there, all begins the day that Tank is out of prison and he goes in the second chapter of the book to look for his boy, they obviously had a connection but it happened offpage so as a reader I was not connected to their connection, hence everything felt really insta. 🥲🥲

- That leads me to what I like to call: This is why people get killed rant. CJ only knows Tank from prison, he knows he committed a crime and even the guy himself has told him that he's not a good person. What does he do when he sees him? He doesn't feel apprehensive, he doesn't try to get some dates first or even a deep conversation, nop he goes straight to loose his v-card, like the same night they meet *sighs*. I could not, for the sanity of my mind, continue after that, who the hell does that? 🙄🙄

- Then we have a man (Tank) who growls at everything and who says baby all the time and I'm done! Adios, hasta nunca!

I adore Kiki's shifter series so I was excited for this one, but nope, not for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️😪❤

P.S. I still want that cover as a poster on my room though. 😏

Do you like possessive, dirty-talking, older ex-cons? Look no further.
Do you like sweet boys into pretty, lacy things who calls his man Daddy? This book's got you covered.
Do you crave hot as fuck sex scenes? Grab a copy of Reckless.

When I saw snippets of Reckless in the author's fb group, I knew I would read it. The fact I won an arc made it even better.

It turned out to be very sweet and low angst—right up my alley. If you like your MC club gritty, you might want to pass because you won't find it here. Things are revealed at the end exactly what the club does—I suspect we'll get more in future books—but not a lot happens outside of the main characters in this one.

I loved how the letters were interspersed throughout the book to give us insight on their hopes and dreams. Tank had me sweating a few times and smoking a cigarette after. CJ was sweet and innocent but had a kinkier side he wanted to explore. Turns out Tank was the right man for the job.

The only thing that bothered me, and it's a personal preference and won't bother most people, is

All in all, I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to more in the series.

Other than the pen pal moments and some steamy scenes, this story is just unmemorable. Like what happened? Almost nothing. When I saw that this story is about a motorcycle club, my hopeful ass thought of how KA Merikan did theirs. Usually light stories are okay for me but this one is complete miss. It’s a miracle I didn’t dnfed this.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

Tank was going to find a real family, someone to love him so damn much others would judge it as unhealthy. Someone he could worship and protect and possess.

I know I often talk about how I don’t care much about spice, but this book is hot. I finally got around to listening to the audiobook after wanting to reread it for ages, and I think some books are too spicy for me in audio, lol. Still really good though.

Thankfully the book isn’t *all* spice. The story is really sweet, and the MCs are beyond adorable together. I don’t tend to enjoy motorcycle club romances because they’re often packed full of toxic masculinity, homophobia and misogyny, but that really isn’t the case here. When Tank gets out of prison, he wants a change and ends up in a club that is the opposite of what he’s been a part of previously. Seeing him realize that he’s more than just ‘dumb muscle’ and that he can be a part of good things even after doing bad is so damn endearing.

Tank felt his whole world sway, then right itself, everything clicking into place for the first time in his life. “I feel like I’ll die if you ever stop touching me.”

CJ is adorable, and you get to see the sass and confidence grow throughout the book. Tank gave him the safe space to be himself, and they just work together.

They start out as prison pen pals, and we get to read a lot of the letters throughout, which certainly helped make their connection believable. I also think this book (when I initially read it) is what made me realize how much I love reading some exhibitionism. It’s done so well in this.

The book got interesting, but after Cj went to the club with Tank, the book has nothing but sex. Short hot moments, but when the plot is 80% sex it gets an annoying and nauseous thing.

I'm not saying the book didn't have good ideas with a biker club that does good for your community, it was a cool idea, but it wasn't explored. Sex took part in the story and didn't let the plot evolve. I arrived at the end of the book feeling that lacked striking plot and striking characters. Nothing really remarkable has happened in this story.

I thought I knew what I was getting with this one, but I found myself really attatched to these two.
I can also spot a great beginning when I see one. I can already tell I'm going to love this series a little more with each book, and when I end up revisiting these two I'm going to enjoy it even more.

Insta-love? Yup. Sweet? You bet. Steamy? Oh yeah.

Can't wait for Six's book!

I feel misled

1. Reckless???? There was nothing remotely reckless in this book at all
2. I understand that Bike clubs are different but this is not even about it at all 🙄
3. The daddy/boy kink was really lacking (I think the author needs to research more about it). In the book it was “thrust “ out of nowhere and it felt so fake, lessening their sexual chemistry every time it was mentioned “thank you daddy” really????
4. There was more chemistry in the letters than after the MC’s met
5. It started strong but fell flat, all thanks to the expectations induced by the blurb and the title
6. I’m going to stop now before I spoil everything. The two star rating is for the pen pal inserts

⭐️ 4/5 🌶 4/5 — Sweet boy, filthy mouths, and a biker Daddy who writes letters? Yes. Fucking. Please.

Pen pal Daddy kink? That’s my kryptonite. The tension, the nervousness, the waiting game between letters? I was kicking my feet and giggling like a lil’ giddy mess. 😆 CJ is the sweetest boy, and Tank?? Big, tattooed, protective, and gentle as hell to CJ? That man ruined me. I want one, immediately. Thanks. 😌🫴🏻

Their chemistry? Nuclear. They can’t keep their hands off each other, and I loved how their friends were bitching about it—Viper, I’m lookin’ directly at your jealous ass. 👀😏

Okay, let’s talk about Six. I don’t even like exhibitionism that much, but those two on-page scenes? Tank and CJ getting off while Six listens and watches? Jesus fuck it was so hot I had to put my damn e-reader down and scream into a pillow. Six, Daddy, you can watch me anytime. 🙂‍↕️🫦

Now, what pissed me off: the goddamn wedding got skipped. I waited so long, got all soft at the proposal—and then bam epilogue hits like “lol they already got married off-page.” EXCUSE ME?? I wanted my vows, my soft tears, my fuckin’ suit porn. I was robbed. Robbed, I tell you! 😤💢

But—big soft moment? Tank’s tattoo. Designed by CJ, placed exactly where CJ wanted it. As a tattoo lover myself, that scene got me in my feels. I swooned, hard. 🥹😍

👩🏻‍⚖️ Final Verdict: A delicious Daddy/boy romance with enough heat to melt your insides and a dynamic that had me purring. I just wish I got to see them say I do on-page. Still? Absolutely worth the ride. 🥰💕✨️

This book was 80% smut with a little bit of plot, but I’m not complaining, because I still liked it a lot.

I'm a huge sucker for big, burly men that are actually just giant teddy bears looking for someone to call their own. And Tank fit the description perfectly. After spending four years in prison, all he wanted was to leave his old life behind and start a new one with CJ, the boy he kept trading letters with and the one who managed to sneak his way into his heart with soft words and pink underwear.

The two had very good chemistry, and although things moved quite fast between them, I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow. Both of them didn't have an easy life (Tank being a member of a criminal biker gang and CJ constantly getting bullied for being gay), but they found peace and happiness with each other and their new family.

Interesting Premise

I'm a bit partial to relationships that start unconventionally and the premise for this was intriguing to me.

This started out pretty strong but fizzled out about halfway through. Not much happened after they got together and I felt like the many sex scenes were being used as a filler of sorts.

So yeah, loved the premise and initial execution, it's the rest that lost my interest.

I love when I find a new binge-worthy author (I mean when Anna finds a new binge worthy author and shares it with me).

“I want you to make me feel like everything I am, everything I have, belongs to you. And then I want you to put your hand around my throat and fuck me.”

I really enjoyed the flow of this story. I normally hate past/present books. Like fucking hate them, but the way this author sneaks their pen pal letters into the story was amazing. It didn't feel like a time jump to me. Maybe because it was done as them actually "talking" and not inner monologue. I don't know, but I really enjoyed it.

I also love how they fell in love through their letters, and that they wouldn't start their letters over if they said something wrong or made a mistake. If they wrote it, they sent it. No filter.

This was a perfect daddy kink without the age play and I was here for it.

“Gotta make sure I don’t miss a drop of my naughty boy’s come.”

For only being just over 200 pages this book really gave me a solid story without angst and we all know how I can't emotionally handle the angst lately. I'm definitely going to be picking up the next book in this and looking to see what else Kiki Clark has written.

And now here i am, wondering where i can get a Tank!!
I'm in love with the big "daddy" biker😏😍🔥
Tank and CJ are a perfect match and I loved the dynamic of their relationship, and their k!nks
😏😏🔥🔥
The story is fast paced, mostly angst-free, STEAMY, with some deep meaningful moments.
I enjoyed the pen pal trope, and the fact the author added the letters they sent each others.
I'm looking forward to read the next one, 'cause Six is a mistery i want to solve...

RECKLESS begins the LEATHER & CHROME series and I really enjoyed this one and I loved these two kinky exhibitionists! I’m so glad we got to see some of the letters between CJ and Tank while Tank was in prison! These were interspersed between the chapters and it was the perfect way to get to know the characters and see how their relationship changed from friendly conversations to sexy fantasies.

CJ was the sweetest -- he's confident and outgoing and he quickly makes friends and connections in the motorcycle club. I liked that he found a home and family with the MC separate from his relationship with Tank. I also enjoyed how possessive Tank was, but he’s also completely dedicated and devoted to CJ and I loved it.

CJ and Tank were so sexy together...and when they started to incorporate Six as a voyeur things got really steamy! I might have gotten dehydrated while reading this one because it was so hot.

I can't wait for more stories about this MC because I already love all the side characters.

Content Warning: homophobia (not from the club); on page sexual harassment by a bar customer; references to poor prison conditions

quick and dirty 😊
The motorcycle club theme only serves as a secondary background, so don't expect the plot to really have anything to do with bikes and tough guys. It's more the club's introduction to the follow-up books in the series. But good enough to arouse curiosity.
Tank is fresh out of prison and enters CJ's life after they met as pen pals. There is nothing more, just hot filthy sex. Tank is this giant tattooed Daddy type who is so eager to take care of CJ. They are fantastic together, perfect for each other and have a wonderful dynamic. CJ blossoms beautifully in Tank's presence and in the setting of the club.

“Name-calling is bad enough, boy, but you lay your hands on me in anger again and we’re going to have a problem.” Tank’s voice was serious, his face set in firm lines—the epitome of a man completely in control and expecting submission. 😋

“I’d let you do anything.” Those were dangerous words to say to a man like him. He could think of a lot of dirty, depraved things he could do to CJ’s pretty, pristine body. 😳

I want you to make me feel like everything I am, everything I have, belongs to you. And then I want you to put your hand around my throat and fuck me. 🥵

I needed a carefree book that would let me disappear into the smutty nirvana for a short time, so this was perfect for that.

4/5 stars.

“You’re my white picket fence, baby. The rest is just icing.”

This is my first time reading Kiki Clark’s writing and it was great! In terms of mechanics there were no glaring issues in what I read, and only a few small mistakes that were easily overlooked. I definitely will read more of her work and especially this series - I was in love with this book.

Character wise, I liked both Tank and CJ. A few people who read this book told me CJ was TSTL, but I honestly didn’t see him this way. He didn’t just follow Tank into the alleyway, the guy came there after he was trying to get to his car. Also, the buildup of their nine months from the letters I felt have enough context, and maybe it’s also about not examining bias against ex-felons? I don’t know. Anyway, I felt CJ was adorable and sweet; he was a good match for Tank and I was glad there wasn’t a ton of angst between them. Tank was wonderful and caring for CJ, and was everything he needed in a daddy.

Kink wise, it wasn’t a bunch of power exchange but the scenes were hot! I was especially for the negotiated exhibitionist scenes and how that played out. Not a sharing scene but still being aware of an observer around them, especially because it was a friend they trusted. The Daddy kink was less about dominance in the BDSM sense, though. No rules or punishments, etcetera. It flowed well.

I’ve read MC romances before where I didn’t have a great grasp of what was going on - not here. I loved and understood all the roles of the side characters. I want to read Six’s book, Tomas’ book, and I loved Viper and Tay. Honestly, everyone shown as part of the club was great. I LOVED the profession CJ decided to pursue.

The letters part - I liked how they were interspersed in the book. However, some of them were just more sex - which there’s a lot in this book - where I didn’t feel they furthered showing us the romantic connection between them. While I did enjoy reading the last letter sent before the epilogue, I do think more emotional letters would’ve been preferable.

My criticisms were I wish some scenes had been written out instead of told to us. Such as their first fight, and their discussions around limits. Both I think would’ve given a glimpse into their dynamic.

Overall, I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next!

Kiki is definitely becoming a favorite author of mine, everything I have read from this author I have really enjoyed!

This is the first book in a new contemporary series, and going by this book, I am really going to love this series! And look at all these beautiful bookshelf tags I'm adding it to - this book seriously has all of my asks for these days.

The chemistry between Tank and CJ is smokin’, and I loved them together. MC books aren’t my usual jam, but I enjoyed this one. I loved the feeling of both of them finding a place with the new motorcycle club that Tank transfers to. There are some interesting side characters introduced here that I want stories for!

If you’re a fan of age gap, first times, motorcycle clubs, found family, and some daddy kink, give this book a try.

Sweet Read

This was an…. Interesting read for me. Full disclosure: I dislike when “Daddy” is used in a book. It’s mainly why I stay away from age gap, it’s just not my jam. I went into this book kinda blind, so didn’t realize this was gonna be a thing here. By the time I did, I was interested in Tank and CJ enough to want to go on. They were very sweet.

The book starts with Tank being released from a Louisiana prison for a job he got caught doing for his MC. While in prison, he developed a relationship with a pen pal that lives in Michigan. Tank has decided that he is ready to transfer from the LA MC to the MI MC so he can be closer to CJ, his pen pal. Once they meet (little tiny drama there) it felt like insta love, but because the book goes back and forth between present and their letters to each other, you can see the whole development of their feelings for each other.

Overall a fast and sweet story, with lovely characters. The devotion that Tank has for CJ is beautiful. I think it’s a good start to a series, despite my issues because those are MY issues, nothing bad on the book or how it’s written.

These were the horniest pen pals ever, and I really enjoyed it! I liked how there were interludes of the past letter exchanges mixed in with the present timeline. I had such a great time enjoying this inclusive and caring MC group of tough bikers, and really liked how this was technically a MC romance but also tender and fluffy as heck with the romance between the MCs. Adorable. Must find out how each biker's relationships go.

Also, high five for some consensual voyeurism and exhibitionism. Good for you guys.

I picked this book up on a whim as it looked good and I’m so happy I did because I loved it! This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I’ll absolutely be reading more by them in the future. This was a motorcycle club book but it wasn’t your typical MC. They were very inclusive and understanding and I loved that aspect.

Tank and CJ were so perfect for each other. I loved how we got to learn about the beginning of their relationship from the letters that they wrote to each other that were in between all chapters. It was such a neat concept. It didn’t feel off that this was an instalove story because of those letters.

Their relationship was super hot and possessive. What’s not to love about that! I highly recommend this book if you enjoy Daddy/boy stories (and exhibitionism) and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Gah! I loved these two so much! There’s nothing I love more than a found family story.

These two started as pen pals while Tank was in prison and when he got out? He came for his boy.

I loved how protective they were of each other. The daddy kink and sex were just a bonus to how good the story was!

Perfect combo of sexy and sweet

Loved these characters.
CJ and Tank started off as pen pals and then they met. The meet cute did NOT go how I expected!

There are several parts that were unpredictable which I absolutely loved!

These two were incredibly sweet to each other. I’d say sweetness with an edge. Highly recommend this one!

I’m so excited 6’s book is next! He played a sexy part in this story too. I’m happy he’s getting his own book.
