It felt like it desperately wanted to be a modern version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Max and the Multiverse is a sci-fi comedy series about a bumbling nerd who shifts between parallel universes whenever he falls asleep.
The idea came to me while watching other multiverse series like Stargate and Doctor Who. I noticed that every story about parallel universes involves some sort of mission, i.e. a reason to interact with them. So I thought, what if there wasn't one? What if some hapless fool was thrust into the situation against their will? And thus was born the series.
The main characters are a ragtag group of misfits that band together for an epic adventure through space. Max is a nerdy teen from Earth with minimal social grace. Ross is a talking cat with an endless cache of snark. Zoey and Perra are alien couriers with reputations for ruthless efficiency.
My one and only disclaimer would be that Max and the Multiverse is a satire above all else. Many characters and settings are hyper-parodied to poke fun at genre tropes. In fact, the entire series can be viewed as Russell Crowe in a clown suit shouting "Are you not entertained?!"

This series is all about parallel universes, where anything can be explained with a needlessly extravagant backstory. I love hearing from happy readers and answering those questions is the most fun I have as an author.
