Bestselling and award-winning author Lynette Eason is back with another high-octane tale of close calls, narrow escapes, and the fight to bring a nefarious criminal to justice.

Author of twenty inspirational romantic suspense books, she is also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Extreme Measures series. The beginning of this book puts you right into the action, and then it goes into suspense. The ending was so good, and there was some good twists. I liked the characters. This book is fast pace, but the romance is slow moving. I felt the romance was good in this book. I loved that this book kept you on the edge of your seat and keep the suspense building in this book. I listened to the audiobook of this book, and I really enjoyed this audiobook. I would not say that the narrator was mine favorite, but the narrator was good and easy to understand what was being said. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author (Lynette Eason) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Wow, Author Lynette Eason starts her new series Extreme Measures with title Life Flight. As soon as you start it you will find yourself on an adrenaline rush. When I started this book I read it all in one sitting til after 2 a.m. I just couldn't put it down. The characters are flawed like we all are and this makes it even more realistic. I enjoyed seeing EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton and FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's interaction. He was very protective of her, always having her back but in actuality I think she had his back more often, coming to his rescue many times. They have a good and respectful relationship, both working and personal. Nonstop action in this one doesn't allow the characters for much down time. I did enjoy seeing the long standing relationship Penny has with her girlfriends and the time they spend together. A wicked storm has Penny out in it trying to land her medical helicopter safely on a mountain. Her stress level is already up but she then finds out about a serial killer on the loose in the area she is in. The author writes with such talent her books are very intriguing. I'll tell you one thing, I drink a lot of tea and I will never think of it the same way again.
Pub Date 04 Jan 2022 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

{ Not for those sensitive to serial killers or murders. }
So, this might just rile the creepiest book I’ve read, which just happens to also be by this author, “Moving Target”. It’s the villains that twist Scriptures that truly creep me out, and to be fully honest, I don’t know if I would have picked up this book if I knew this killer would be like that as well. When I took criminal justice classes in college, I recall learning about a couple different cases with the killer having “religious motivation”, but I feel like I’ve seen it pretty often in Christian Fiction Suspense books. Hmm.
While the creepiness of the serial killer definitely affected my rating, there were a couple other things. Penny and Holt were fine characters, but I kept having the feeling that I should already know them? They’ve known each other for almost two years (?) and have gone out on a few dates, which is fine, there’s a lot of the past-lovers meet again trope (or whatever it’s called) in CF Suspense books, but the way their memories were written made me feel like I was missing seeing them in a separate novel (as side characters)? I’m not sure…
Then there were certain dialogues felt a little…stiff? Not quite natural feeling? The action and fighting/self-defense were all well written to the point you could see it happening in front of you, but the dialogue (mostly between Penny and Holt) felt a little off at times. Though, I could have been more focused on the action, and not the romance parts. They had a couple cute parts, but overall I didn’t really get into their relationship or them together, I wanted the bad guy caught, I suppose, more.
There was also a lot of off-handed comments about other deaths, a child’s kidnapping and death, other tragic events, affairs, etc., that while I’m sure is realistic that a lot of those in these fields see often, it added a separate heaviness to this book’s plot.
It was a very suspenseful book—to say the least, almost every suspenseful thing that could happen, did happen—and I do plan to continue on with the series, this first book just wasn’t really my favorite kind of story to read.
*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author. *I received this book for free from the Publisher (Revell) for this honest review.
'She was getting really tired of people aiming guns at her.'
Lynette Eason begins a new series with this one and it is incredibly good. Penny and Holt are great primary characters and each also have issues that need to be dealt with, which makes the story even better. They are fighting for their lives from the get-go here and the action rarely lets up for more than a few hours.
Eason has once again crafted very real characters and an awesome plot. She also manages to create a super bad, bad guy. I was on pins and needles on more than one occasion. Eason really knows her stuff when it comes to writing a suspenseful novel.
Skillfully told and populated with good characters, this is one for the keeper shelf for sure.
My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion here is entirely my own.
Ready for a book that is a race from page one to the end? Then you need to read Life Flight, the latest from best-selling author Lynette Eason. The pages race from a life flight that crashes in the North Carolina mountains to a race against time against a serial killer. Lace throughout are enough additional plot lines to keep the characters racing to figure out how to stay one step ahead. Layer in a blossoming romance, and this book has all the ingredients for a story I could not put down. I highly recommend this for those who love romantic suspense with enough twists to keep the most astute reader guessing.
A real page turner exciting and not over done! Wow! What a nail biter. I have long been a fan of Lynette Eason. What is special about this book is that it is completely believable and exciting but not over-the-top with unrealistic scenarios. Penny the chopper pilot is very smart and has even rescued FBI agent Holton Satterfield. They meet again when a serial killer is loose in a remote area on a mountain. Penny has to make an emergency landing and is not aware of the menace. Penny and Holt and their coworkers are likable. Some are Christians and I appreciate that the author shows their faith as natural. The villain was very creepy and some scenes were disturbing, i liked that Penny was strong and she used her brain as much as her defensive moves. “Things were clicking in her brain, little pieces of information swimming around up there, but she had no idea how to put it all together.” Well, She did it! Just in time. There were some surprises at the end including a second problem that Holt was working on. A fantastic start to a new series:Extreme Measures. Ms. Eason keeps proving to be a favorite. *A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Revell through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. Life Flight by Lynette Eason is a true, electrifying, heart pounding thriller-suspense novel from first page to last. This is one book in which I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! The Audiobook version, narrated by Sara Sheckells, expresses the highly emotional and suspenseful emotions one would expect of the characters in this storyline.
Strong and diverse characters, interesting plot, a satisfying ending with a twist - Life Flight easily checks all the boxes and puts this one on my favorites shelf in 2021. Highly recommended! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Notes: Clean read - No sex, No foul language, No gore, absolutely brilliant and can’t wait for the next installment in this series. Wonderful cover artwork.
My thanks to NetGalley, the Publisher, and Lynette Eason for an AAC in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own
What an adventure! The action is cover to cover in this one. Love that the main character, Penny, is an EMS helicopter pilot. She has a heart for both adventure and helping others. Her intelligence comes through many times.
Great start to a new series. I'm hoping the remainder of the series will focus on Penny's friends that she made at a juvenile detention center. Definitely a case of learning from mistakes and turning things in a much more positive direction.
I always know that a book by Lynette Eason will be one that is entertaining from the first page to the last. Life Flight is certainly no exception, from the beginning with Life Flight helicopter pilot Penny Carlton has to set her bird down on Mount Mitchell in the mountains of North Carolina in inclement weather to the last page. With a severely injured climber on board and no cell service, she sets out to find a landline or satellite phone, not knowing an escaped prisoner is out and about. FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield is also on the mountain looking for the convict. He and Penny are friends and have even gone out a few times, having met when he was injured and a patient on her flight. This is the beginning of a wild time with some crazy people who do bad things with a weird sense of what they believe as the escaped man is one step ahead of them, but he has some help. Twists, turns, action keep this story moving with great, likable characters that you will pull for. This looks to be another winner and beginning to a great new series in typical Lynette Eason page turning style. It kept me up late reading. I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
Characters: Penny had to be my favorite character in this book. Unlike some characters in suspense books, she actually fought back (or at least attempted to fight back) when the villains tried to get her. Holt was a well-developed character who had relatable flaws, and he and Penny made a good couple. Now about the villain ... I'd seen several reviews that said he was really scary. Yes, he would've been scary if I'd met him in real life, but since I was just reading about him, I just found him a little corny.
Language: Clean.
Moral: Both Holt and Penny were Christians and prayed throughout the book. You'll have to forgive me, but I'm drawing a blank on morals.
Plot: This plot definitely had plenty of action to keep me reading! Both Penny's job as a helicopter pilot and Holt's job as an FBI agent were well described and played integral roles in the story.
Romance: Clean. A few kisses.
Writing: Lynette Eason's fast-paced writing style worked great for this novel.
Overall: Life Flight was an entertaining read, and I'd recommend it to those who enjoy Christian fiction and romantic suspense.
This novel is a nice start to a new series. There is a great combination of physical action and danger along with psychological terror, as well. The bad guy is truly menacing, smart, twisted, and very elusive.
I liked that the two main characters, Holt and Penny, knew each other and had even been on a few dates over the past year and a half. Yet, they needed to define their relationship and there were things that they were both holding back about. I liked their chemistry together and the way they worked together throughout the story.
Life Flight had some great twists in the story line. There were some things that I saw coming and others that surprised me. Holt and Penny sure had to go through a lot to get to their happily ever after!
A lot of interesting characters were introduced in this novel and it will be fun to watch as they get their own stories in future books
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This book started out with a bang and never slowed down. I think the plot deserves a 4 or a 5, but I’m a sensitive reader and I had a hard time with how creepy the serial killer villain was.
Right off the bat, there’s a lot of people and names to keep straight. You can tell that lots of characters will be returning in the series. It’s a bit confusing for a little bit, but I finally started remembering who everyone was.
I liked Holt and Penny. As a total aside, I love how unique their names are! Penny seems to act rashly a lot. Like, instead of waiting it out, she plunges into the woods after her FBI crush to help take down a serial killer. Sometimes she doesn’t think things through and kind of does some dumb stuff. I admire how brave she was, even though she could be kind of foolish sometimes. Holt annoyed me when he was frustrated with Penny for not sharing all of her past before, but wouldn’t open up about his own family situation. At least he admitted to himself that he was a hypocrite, but he still could have come completely clean.
I couldn’t decide if I enjoyed and appreciated the whole subplot with Zoe, or if it took away from the main plot.
Oh, another thing that is a personal pet peeve for me: the villain is depicted as taking the Biblical concept of submission to the extreme. I don’t like that he’s depicted as believing something in the Bible/making a religious thing an evil thing. I know there are some religious creeps out there, but I feel like the world puts enough anti-religious extremist content out there. We don’t really need Christian authors adding to the noise.
Like I said in the beginning, this is no Nancy Drew villain. Rabor is more like Netflix crime series level. He’s evillll. He has a thing for tea parties and complete submission and keeping his victims after they’ve died. It’s a lot. If I hadn’t been so sucked into the plot, I would have listened to my gut and quit this read. I can’t get the descriptions of a few things out of my head. 🤪 But wow, this was an action packed read with some great plot twists and thrilling capture and escape scenes. If you have no qualms about watching serial killer documentaries or Criminal Minds, then you’ll have no problem with this book. But if you’re creep level stops with the bad guys in Nancy Drew, leave this book on the shelf.
Can I say that this was a great read while you are in isolation? No, I am not saying to wait to read it, to try it, but if this is the only book you have then this will keep you glued to the page. Can I say how much I liked Holt? I enjoyed everything about this first book and I look forward to more...
From high stakes, to a serial killer on the loose, to a mystery that still needs to be unfolded, Mrs. Eason crafted a novel that will keep you on your toes and your heart rushing with adrenaline until the very end. This book was an amazing start to her new series and I cannot wait to learn more about the characters who I assume are going to make appearances in it! Although it wasn’t my all time favorite by Mrs. Eason, this book still started off with a bang and I could not put it down until I was finished. There was so much to be discovered and revealed. I also couldn’t leave the characters to fend off a psychopath by themselves.
There were so many twists and turns in this book that it had my head swirling with so many questions and attempts to figure out how everyone played into the suspenseful mystery that Mrs. Eason spun so well.
The characters were amazing. Holt was such a dear. Although he had his stupid moments, he genuinely cared and was so protective of Penny. He was determined to stop Rabor before he could hurt anyone else, especially Penny. Even after getting hurt, he didn’t stop until his job was finished. He was just amazing. Penny was also so brave. I honestly do not know how she pushed through the way she did. I would’ve curled up in a ball and sobbed the entire book, if I was in her shoes. However, she was so headstrong, brave, and willing to put herself on the line for others. She was so admirable. I absolutely loved following both her and Holt through this novel.
I also enjoyed how Mrs. Eason incorporated God throughout this book even though that can be hard at times in a suspense novel. However, she did and she did a fabulous job doing it!
Although this book definitely was on the creepier side (hello, serial killer), it still was so good!! I cannot wait to see where Mrs. Eason takes these characters next in the books to come!!
*FTC: I received this book from Revell in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.*
4.5/5 What an action packed ride that was! I loved it! Penny was an excellent protagonist. Holt was a solid guy. I liked the different characters and their various roles in this plot. Definitely going to continue in this series!
In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain…”
Psalm 11:1 Spiritual Themes
The characters consistently pray, throughout the book. These tend to be short prayers for safety or for God’s help in the investigation. And we definitely see God answering by protecting Penny and Holt!
I chose the verse from Psalm 11, because the characters consistently turn to God when they are in trouble and when they need courage. Even in scary situations, they persevere and they do so with an awareness that God is in control. For example, Holt prays that God will reveal what they need to know, to catch the killer.
There are also a few comments/discussions about the way God responds to prayer. It’s not always in the way we hope or expect, but He does listen. Along this line, there are some instances of thanking God after the prayers of protection, but I would have liked to see more of this.
Overall, it was refreshing Christian characters who acted like Christians. For me, though, the spiritual content was not particularly moving/insightful.
Introduction to the Author
I’ve seen enough Lynette Eason titles to know that she’s a pretty big name in the genre, but this is my first time actually reading one of her books. The experience was very enjoyable and I’d definitely like to read more of her books.
I received this book along with Sunrise by Susan May Warren (and The Girl who Could Breathe Underwater, by Erin Bartels). Given the presence of a helicopter on the cover of this one, and a little plane on the cover of the other book, I was concerned that these books would be really similar. (I don’t read many books about pilots, haha). So, I was very happy to learn that the pilot character was pretty much the only similarity between the two.
What I Liked
So many of my reviews of Christian books include a disclaimer for romantic content. In addition to the fact that I don’t think that’s necessary in this case (hooray!!), there were several things that I really appreciated.
First, the basis of Penny and Holt’s relationship was refreshing. I’ve seen a lot of books where the main characters meet and fall in love in the course of the novel, or where they reunite after a break-up (and long absence). In this case, Penny and Holt have already gone out together a few times, before the book begins. So, it’s already been established that the characters are interested in each other, making for a more realistic romance. As a reader, I got to watch the two fall in love, but in a way that wasn’t rushed, nor burdened with relationship baggage (Plus, it was nice that the dating couple didn’t break up in favor of the girl discovering the new, interesting guy that “gets her.” That’s often what happens to the first love interest, in romances).
I so appreciate that Eason doesn’t imply that a person can fill or complete another person. This is something else that I see all-too-frequently in romance novels, and I was so glad that Eason doesn’t do this! Instead, the characters appreciate that God brought them together and are prepared to see what He has next, for them.
The suspense plot line was intriguing, with some unexpected plot developments. This book kept me on my toes, which is something I enjoy in this genre.
I really enjoyed Penny’s characterization. She is undoubtedly a strong woman, who is willing to risk her life to protect those she loves most. At the same time, she’s not too proud to accept help and protection from others. I considered her to be a very likeable character.
The friendship between Penny, Julianna and Grace was beautiful. I appreciate that Eason portrays the importance of friendship, in addition to writing a romantic story. These girls have known each other for a long time and continue to take care of one another.
Content Notes
As mentioned above, I am so happy not to have a disclaimer about the romance. There are a few kissing scenes, but I would describe these as tasteful and sweet.
There is some violence, including attack and self-defense. There’s also some really intense subject matter, since the book is about a woman-hating serial killer.
There are a couple short segments from the perspective of the serial killer, but there’s nothing graphic in these moments.
Additional Consideration
The below points may seem a bit “nit picky.” I do want to note that it is only because this book was SO GOOD that I have the luxury of observing the following:
Even before I made the decision to focus my reading on Christian titles, one thing I’ve felt convicted about is reading books with content I wouldn’t otherwise read, simply because of their “Christian” label. For instance, Ted Dekker is one of my very favorite authors and writes some REALLY powerful books. However, some of his titles are pretty much “horror,” and I recognized that I wouldn’t have touched them, if they weren’t “Christian.” I’ve decided it’s not a good idea for me to reread those.
With that said, Life Flight is nowhere near comparable with the intensity in some of Dekker’s more intense works. The “check” I have is intrigue for the sake of intrigue, because I didn’t really see a big statement about the light overpowering the darkness. While I don’t really see a lot of specifically “objectionable” content, I would have really liked to see a clearer purpose behind the inclusion of the dark elements. (This is something I very much see in Dekker’s works, especially the less horror-y ones.)
Recommendation Status
Although I wouldn’t have minded more emphasis on the spiritual content, this is a book I really enjoyed. The serial killer investigation may be intense for certain readers, but I was so gratified to see Eason’s treatment of the romantic relationship.
This is a chilling thriller. Penny is a rescue pilot who transports patients with life threatening injuries. It starts off with her boss sending her out in weather she should not be flying in and an emergency landing. Penny goes to find help and finds out a serial killer is on the loose. She is brave and well trained in self defense which will certainly come in handy. Holt is an FBI agent who she saved when he was injured by the same serial killer two years prior. Penny and Holt have a casual relationship but both would not mind more. As they are thrown together when Penny becomes the killer's target, emotions run high and people are not who they appear to be. Holt will need to figure it out before more lives are taken and he has a chance to let Penny know how he feels.
This was so good! I loved both Penny and Holt and watching their story unfold. The suspense is high, as per Eason's usual, and keeps you on your toes! I couldn't put this one down. The flight medic aspect was really interesting to me and I enjoyed learning more about that job. The bad guy was very creepy and twisty and I was confused as to his identity for the longest time! Also, that cover! Absolutely gorgeous and definitely wins the book brownie points. All in all, well done, Eason! You've done it again. Highly recommend this book!
FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts.
Life Flight kicks off the Extreme Measures series in superb, hang-on-to-your-hat fashion. With a plethora of twists I didn’t see coming and a creepy villain who belongs on Criminal Minds, this book kept me on the edge of my seat and flipping pages at a furious pace. One of my friends told me the shockers kept coming in this one, and having that proven true was spectacular. Sometimes Eason’s baddies are predictable to me (though I still love all the books of hers that I’ve ever read), but this one… oh man, were these baddies twisted and surprising, and, yes, the shockers kept coming until the very end.
It was really fun to have an EMS helicopter pilot who loved doing renovation work on her house as the main character. Penny Carlton was hardworking and smart as a whip, but she had moments of fear and weakness too. She was a great role model for readers, because of this complexity that made her totally realistic.
Holton Satterfield, the leading man, was a gentleman throughout, but I loved that he showed his instinct to protect the women he cared about, whether girlfriend or sister. Once again, we have a great role model. This guy displayed real masculinity that every guy ought to try to emulate. He was brave, courageous, not afraid to admit when he was wrong (though there was a battle of his will on that at first, which is natural and was well written), and chivalrous. This type of man is exactly what the world needs right now.
I wish I could talk about the twists, but that would spoil the story for other readers. Suffice to say that my jaw dropped on more than one occasion. My mind was blown on at least three of the plot twists, and that delighted me to no end. It’s yet to be known if this Extreme Measures series will surpass the Women of Justice trilogy as my favorite Eason series so far, but it has a greater chance of taking that top slot than all the series in between—and there have been quite a few great ones.
High stakes were present from page one, but they skyrocketed with each new turn of the journey. Closing the book when I had to work one of my jobs was difficult. This is the exact type of story I love reading, and I’m glad there are going to be more installments soon. Not soon enough for my taste, but I understand it takes time to write a novel. The next book, Crossfire, just rocketed to the top of my most-anticipated list.
My favorite thing about this book, as with all other Eason novels, is that the author showed how God overcomes the evil of the world. Evil may have its day, but it doesn’t win in the end; God does. That was such a beautiful thing to see unfold, and it’s true in real life too. This exquisite thread was a joy to witness.
The way that family and friends were woven in for both Penny and Holton was lovely. I enjoyed the high stakes involved with these interesting connections. I can hardly wait to see how similar things are done for Penny’s friends as well. I hope their backgrounds prove to be just as wonderful and complicated and heartbreaking as Holton’s and Penny’s were. Yet another reason I can hardly wait for the next book to arrive!
Okay, so my suspense-lovin' readerly brain might have blown inside out over this latest Eason masterpiece. I mean...the first few chapters could have been a book all on it's own. They are delivered in one harrowing scene after another until we can breathe a sigh of relief...or can we?
Because then Eason gets serious! Bwahahaha. Complicated plot riddled with so many plot twists and out and out U-turns that I am suffering from a case of literary whiplash. And then she ups the creep factor and...eeeeppp! Let's just say this author has a very vivid imagination and I'm glad she does...I think. :-)
We are introduced to two teams: Penny's life flight crew and Holt's FBI cronies. What an intriguing and eclectic mix of secondary characters who all have the potential of starring in their own stories so I hope Revell and the author have plans to make this a longer than the typical 3 book series!
I love the way the author dropped in back stories in just the right doses...sometimes too agonizingly slow for me! lol As for the romance -- Penny and Holt have some history which I'll let you discover on your own. This isn't a reunion romance, but they have been getting to know each other after a startling unique first meet (the kind of thing perfect to regale grandkids with!) It makes a solid foundation for what follows.
Even though I received a book from the publisher, I also bought the audible edition because..well, I can be bookish fanatical like that. I enjoyed Sara Sheckells' narration and would definitely recommend Life Flight as an excellent audio book choice. Or paperback. Or ebook. Whatever the edition, don't miss out on hair-raising page-turner!

Life Flight was an action-packed and gripping suspense novel, featuring an eerily creepy serial killer storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I wasn't particularly fond of getting inside the mind of a serial killer by means of the investigation, fixation, and POV. However, as disturbing as it was, it successfully heightened the tension and made me anxious for the MCs to figure it all out as they were racing against the clock.
My biggest struggle in this book was that I didn't fully connect with the main characters or the romance. Holt and Penny were both likeable characters, but sometimes their actions or words would rub me the wrong way - not enough to dislike them, but I didn't click with them. For Holt, it was the hypocritical manner he pushed Penny to reveal her past yet withheld his own. For Penny, it was something here and there, but the biggest thing was the presumptuous nature she handled the first suspect. As for the romance, it lacked chemistry for me and subsequently felt muted overall.
All in all, Life Flight was an engaging, high-stakes suspense novel, and a decent read.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
This was a thrilling beginning to the Extreme Measures series. EMS helicopter piolot Penny teams up with Special Agnet Holt in search of an escaped serial killer. Working together in dire situations brings Penny and Holt closer together and gives their budding romance time to grow. Lynette Eason is a faith based writer, so the romance is clean, and faith turns out to be Penny's greatest tool used to overcome obstacles and hardships.
This was a bit unrealistic at parts and so much happened! The bad guy is sick. There was a part on page 276 that just rubbed me the wrong way and caused me to lower the rating. The whole situation with his sister was ridiculous. It just was an okay read. I’m not a fan of unrealistic parts or invincible characters. 🤷🏼♀️
Lynette Eason always gets the combo of suspense, romance, and believable characters who also choose to have faith in God just right. I can't think of any of her books that I didn't just absolutely enjoy! I particularly loved that we are introduced to 'relationships in progress', as it were. Penny and Holt already knew each other, and though they weren't officially dating at the outset of this novel, they were certainly friends who were each thinking they might want something more. I also liked that we were introduced to the other two heroines of this series, Julianna and Grace. I look forward to reading their stories. I thought the action in this one was so well paced. It didn't drag, but neither was it so fast that I started losing track of what was happening. There was a twist that I did eventually figure out before Penny did, but only *just*. And the villain? *shudders* All in all, a very good read!
Lynette Eason is one of my favorite authors and this may be my favorite book by her. I was drawn in from the first page and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. So many twists and turns! I loved Holt and Penny and was intrigued by some of the side characters. It was a fantastic book that I highly recommend.
Life Flight by Lynette Eason is an amazing and suspenseful read that kept me gripping the edge of my seat time and time again. It is addictive and is the first in a new series: Extreme Measures.
This type of book is slightly out of my usual genres, but I love Revell Publishing, so I figured I would give it a go, and I am so glad I did.
This book is deceptively fast-pasted, entertaining, addictive, and beyond enjoyable. It has escaped killers, manhunts, suspense, elements of mystery, villains and heroes (imperfect heroes), action, and drama. It is balanced nicely however with excellent characters, a realistic plot, romance, second chances, and faith.
It is also a story about family, love, forgiveness, and the importance of drawing strength and hope from faith and from God. It is beautiful in that aspect as well.
The plot was paced well, the storyline excellent, and I couldn’t help but root for the amazing Penny Carlton and Special Agent Holt Satterfield the whole time.
I can’t wait to see where this series will go next.
5/5 stars
Thank you NG and Revell Publishing for this wonderful arc and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
I am posting this review to my GR and Bookbub accounts immediately and will post it to my Amazon, Instagram, and B&N accounts upon publication on 1/4/22.
I'm always up for a new suspense series and loved the idea of the this story.
I don't know how one character can have so much happen to them in such a short period of time, but Penny had a target on her from the start. I really liked how she didn't brook any nonsense and when push came to shove, she was taking people down. For someone who is a helicopter pilot rescuing people, she sure had to do a lot of detective work!
Speaking of, Holt and she had been getting to know each other prior to the story so when they're thrown together with the serial killer on the loose, it makes sense that they work well together, especially under the conditions they were dealing with.
I felt like I needed to take notes as I read the story with all of the twists and turns and people involved! My plumb line was always Holt and Penny. There were pieces to the story that I didn't quite connect, but overall it was a very suspenseful ride from beginning to end. The bad guy was super creepy and very twisted! The ending was definitely a surprise for me!
*I was sent the book for review. This is my personal opinion.
Wow! What a Rollercoaster ride! This will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat trying to guess what happens next! This book y'all! Such excitement! It's definitely a make you hold your breath deal! I absolutely adored this book! It will be added to my list of favorites. The characters are awesome as well as the supporting ones too! I couldn't stand Raber. He made me shiver everytime I came across him. Eason did a great job with him! Penny and the whole team were just awesome! I especially loved Holt and I really appreciated the fact that he had flaws and wasn't perfect. I found myself rooting for Penny, Holt, Raina, Grace and the rest of the team. I loved the theme of forgiveness, family, love and hope. No one family is perfect. Sometimes forgiveness is very hard. I want others to know how much I enjoyed this read and it is very fast paced form page one! I highly recommend! My thanks to Revell publishing for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.
