Zodiac Tactical #2

Code Name: Virgo

Rate this book
My code name is Virgo. The stars say I’m practical, honest, stubborn as hell.

Guilty as charged.

Zodiac Tactical is the company that gave me a second chance. We guard, protect, rescue...eliminate the threat when nobody else can. And as a former SEAL, I’m good at those things. Good with weapons, good with missions.

But with people...not so good.

So when a gruesome enemy takes Bronwyn Rourke, one of Zodiac’s newest young recruits—with blue eyes that take up nearly her whole damn face—I shouldn’t take it personally. Shouldn’t allow her to consume my every thought and become my only mission.

They took her because they thought she was alone. Easy prey. That no one would fight for her.

They were wrong.

My code name is Virgo. And I will grind my enemy to dust to bring her home.

Please note: this review contains some spoilers.
What a long, boring, convoluted story with a crazy, unbelievable plot. I gave this a bonus star because I liked the character of Sarge/Virgo/ Harrison, even though he has way too many names for no good reason. No one ever actually called him Virgo, that is just used as a way to tie this book in to some zodiac sign for series continuity.
Anyway I was frustrated and skeptical this whole read. So many details weren’t probable, didn’t gel well and weren’t explained or researched enough for me to believe in them.

Here are my favourites:

1. Why Bronwyn, an orphaned street urchin, living in the slums spoke perfect English: because her mother was an American literature professor in Prague and Ukraine. Sure it’s possible that her mother taught at a university that offered American lit in English, but her parents died when she was young and she lived with a pimp, how is her English perfect? But ok, sure, I’ll just believe it so we can have her be an English speaker and not have to write a language barrier...

2. What even is ‘Chemical subjugation and genetic modification’ and how do they use it for mind control... not once was this explained. They just kept saying the words but never gave us any crumbs of information on how exactly this would work. The whole basis for the plot and motivation for Mosaic and not a bit of info on how they do this.

3. This heroine was most likely raped repeatedly and forced to service johns when she was as young as 14, but no one ever tries to address this or deal with it in any way.

4. How extremely unlikely and convenient it was that the pimp she was working for in the beginning ends up being the head of Mosaic in Europe. When it was pure chance that Sarge came upon her in Prague, to eventually rescue her and recruit her for Zodiac, and then her pimp somehow winds up being a major criminal mastermind and is the reason she is taken by Mosaic....ya ok, sure.

5. Why a detective from Europol was investigating a murder in Alaska and another in New York. No law enforcement in the USA was involved and yet this Europol detective had all this info on murders of Americans on American soil.

6. Sarge catches up with her in New York and then lets her go back to Mosaic to be further tortured ‘for her own good’. She then shows up at his house in Colorado where he gives her an orgasm, because of course that’s the only way to delay the affects of her withdrawal from the mind control drugs 🙄, then he lets her go again to be further tortured by Mosaic. Only to rescue her later after she is broken and battered. If he had just grabbed her in New York she would have avoided so much, and he literally had no real believable reason to let her go. As a former navy seal with access to a huge amount of resources through Zodiac (because we are told over and over again about the billion dollar company and it’s global reach and influence) he could have very easily gotten that necklace off her and weaned her off the mind control drugs.

I could go on to point out further plot holes, discrepancies and irritating lack of information but I don’t have the energy, this book was very long and taxing and now that I’m finally done I need a nap.

Bronwyn Rourke has been living in he!! most of her life. Her one savings grace is Sarge. Captured and programmed to be a weapon against Zodiac Tactical. Her only lifeline is his voice in her head.

“Pony Girl.” His voice was so much deeper, sexier than it had been in my head.

All he’s ever wanted to do was save her and he’s not giving up on her now.

This is not a easy read let me tell you but if you stick with it it’s so worth it.

“I used to dream about what my life would be when I grew up. I never once considered it would be this wonderful or with a man I would love as much as I love you. My own personal cranky hero.”

This is a really awesome book and it really gutted me, I cried so much. Loved that we get a backstory of how Sarge met Bronwyn. He helped her so much and loved how her life got better as a new recruit for Zodiac. But she gets kidnapped and I cried so much over what happens to her and how guilty Sarge feels. Their connection is so great and she focuses so much on trying to get back to him. There’s such a twist to this story and I stayed on edge. I love how important Bronwyn becomes to Sarge and he’ll do anything to keep her safe. Loved feeling so emotional and happy that they finally get their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book. I’ll definitely be reading this book, it’s so fantastic.

It was very good but a lot darker than usual in my opinion, really the tension in this story is really thick as we get the point of view of Sarge and Bronwyn on the events we glimpsed in the first book ( this one can definitively be read as a stand alone) ...the torture is too well described.

I really loved to see the relationship between the two leads and how Sarge was attentive to Bronwyn and what she went through no rushing it and trying to find the best solution for her ( oh the ranch i would love to read more about it)

the only thing i really hated was Wilson.....man he is against Zodiac for he means they employ but he is willing to torture a civilian, a victim to get what he wants? yes save people but that's what zodiac do while taking care of people so Wilson in my eyes is a bad guy i would like to see suffer and we will see what he would like to be done to be saved....grr..

really a great series to follow and i love the interaction and links with the other series it makes a formidable univers to discover with excellent world building

Here I was thinking that this author's Linear Tactical series was going to be hard to top, and here she is well on her way to doing just that.
I'm always thrilled when a book from one of my favourite authors lands on my kindle, and like all others it captivated me from cover to cover and had me in awe of the way she's able to match up the timelines over many books and multiple series. She truly is a master of her craft.
I'm not going to comment much more about the characters or plot as this book will be special for long time readers like myself, I am intrigued on where things will go from here, but like always I know the author will have something sinster up her sleeve (in a good way for us thrill seekers).
This book also has me excited for not one but two series, I especially can't wait to see how the co write one turns out as that's a new venture for this author.

Polvere d'arte - per RFS
.

Riuscirà a salvarla? Farla ri-vivere senza paure, ansie e incubi?

We are back with team Zodiac and we get Sarge and Bronwyn's story and what a story it is. This book is a page turner that makes you feel all the pain and emotions that Bronwyn has suffered during her capture. And the pain Sarge feels thinking it's fault. This book is emotional with danger, deception and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will not be disappointed with this book.

What an amazing thrill ride and an emotional roll-a-coaster Virgo was! All the feels are on the surface, the emotions are intense, and the suspense is fierce, even cruel at times, yet nothing overly gory.
I held on, white-knuckling through the twists and turns, loving every moment of it; savoring the sweet, delighting in the passion, relishing catching the bad guys, and cheering on for the survival of the brave, strong, and badass heroine and her truly worthy hero.
Bronwyn and Sarge have one of those connections that makes you believe in soulmates. The way they get each other and understand the trials of their past and challenges of their present, accept each other just as they are - it was tangible, unique in a way that is just them, and so brilliantly, heart-wrenchingly beautiful, it took my breath away.
It doesn't matter what is going on around me or in my life, Crouch's stories captivate and beguile my mind completely. The suspense in this story builds up realities that are freighting and chilling, both globally and personally, making the protagonists bonder what are they willing to sacrifice to protect and save their loved ones.
Zodiac Tactical is proven to be one of my all-time favorite romantic suspense series, and that is saying a lot. The stories will entertain, intimidate, charm and delight, make you swoon, and make you curl your toes with the tension - and heal any kind of reading slump you find yourself in. Highly recommended!!

If you read Code Name Aries (and you should), then you already know a little bit about the main characters in Code Name Virgo. Sarge gives off the grumpy, solitary vibe, but he is determined to discover what happened to Bronwyn and get her back. Bronwyn has not had an easy time in life, but her tether to Sarge is what keeps her going.

The story is packed with action and danger which will keep you flipping pages. There is a lot of suspense, and sometimes it gets a bit unrealistic. Now, I know this is fiction. I read books about shifters all the time. But, this book kind of of gets a bit into the weird with the things the bad guys are doing. But, I accepted it and sort of tried to move past it because honestly, its not the focus of the book. The story really focuses on Bronwyn-before, during, and after her ordeal. Her and Sarge have a bond that is unbreakable and both draw strength from that. I liked their relationship, but I didn't love it. I can't figure out why exactly, but I just didn't totally ship these two I guess.

If you love a heroine who never stops fighting for herself, you will love Code Name Virgo because Bronwyn will give you all the 'girl power' vibes and provide a hero who sees her as his equal in every way.

Palette Cleanser! I love action and suspense in a romance novel, but this was too much. At some point, the mental and emotional damage that some people endure makes the story totally unbelievable - and boy was this the case here.

I like the way this series is building... seems to be a lot of angst ridden men with women who are, mostly, not TSTL surrounding them.

A decent web-like tale told!

Yet another of the author's books that had me pulling an all-nighter. I really must learn to start these books earlier in the day. I know this, but somehow it doesn't stop me from reading as soon as possible. This is the second book in the Zodiac Tactical series, and much of it takes place concurrently with Code Name: Aries but from a different perspective. There are some overlapping scenes, but not many, and those don't feel repetitive.

The story starts with Sarge's first encounter with Bronwyn. He's a SEAL whose team just finished a mission and is on leave in Prague (terrific city - the descriptions took me back to my visits there). He spots Bronwyn, a talented pickpocket, as she works the square. He doesn't interfere until later when he rescues her from a disturbing situation. I loved Sarge's protectiveness and honorable nature, something Bronwyn had no experience with. The scene in his hotel room was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I loved the connection between them and how important that connection became. I ached for Bronwyn when something she said after leaving caused him harm and for Sarge, who believed she'd betrayed him. Despite the circumstances, neither one forgot the other.

Five years later (current day), Sarge is back in Prague and looking for Bronwyn. Nothing much has changed, but now Sarge works for Zodiac Tactical. This time when he encounters Bronwyn, he offers her the means to escape her current situation by recruiting her for Zodiac. When she shows up at their Paris location, he keeps a watchful but distant eye on her. When we see Bronwyn again, she is in the middle of a mission. I loved seeing her pride in her work, and how she overcame the temptation she felt at a crucial moment. Everything looks good as Bronwyn successfully completes her mission. But things go downhill fast when she arrives back at her hotel room and is drugged and taken.

When Sarge finds out that Bronwyn is missing, his protectiveness goes into overdrive. Hw leaves no stone unturned in his search for her. Even when others believe she left on her own, he doesn't give up. And when video shows up of Bronwyn participating in robberies and other illegal behavior, Sarge is the only one who believes that something is wrong. I loved his determination to find her and his confidence in her when he does. In the segments done from Bronwyn's point of view, we witness the devastating torture she experiences at the hands of Mosaic and the excruciatingly painful methods of mind control they use. I couldn't help but be amazed at her strength of will as she fought against the darkness. I loved how her connection with Sarge gave her the strength to endure and survive. Her mental conversations with him were often the only thing that kept her from going over the edge.

I ached for Sarge on those occasions he caught up with Bronwyn. He worked so hard to stop her without hurting her, but because of the brainwashing, Bronwyn didn't hold back, though she could never bring herself to kill him. The parallels and overlaps with Ian and Wavy's story helped build my anticipation for some of the things I knew were coming. I loved it when Sarge whisked Bronwyn away to the ranch to heal and recover. His patience and care were terrific. I hurt for Bronwyn, who believed that she was broken, no matter how often Sarge tried to tell her how amazing she was. The back and forth as various groups fought for possession of Bronwyn made me ache for everything she experienced.

I loved how Bronwyn's time with Jenna while Sarge was away allowed Bronwyn to push her brain for memories that Sarge held her back from. Bronwyn's determination to unlock the secrets shows how strong she is. Her horror at what she learned was tempered by knowing that she has information vital to stopping Mosaic. I loved her plan, and though Sarge hated it, he had to admit it could work. I was glued to the pages (and wide awake at 5 am!) as they carried it out. Of course, there's frequently a monkey wrench thrown into the works during the process, and this was no exception. I loved watching Bronwyn face off against the one responsible for her troubles. Justice was served in the end.

During their time on the ranch, Bronwyn and Sarge had the chance to get to know each other. Because of their age difference, Sarge was cautious about how he treated her. It took a while for him to admit his feelings for her, though Bronwyn knew hers. I could feel her frustration at times as he kept that bit of distance between them. I loved when she finally broke through his control, and they experienced what was meant to be. The epilogue was fantastic.

I can't wait for the next Zodiac book, as well as the Resting Warrior Ranch series.

4.25 stars--CODE NAME: VIRGO is the second instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult ZODIAC TACTICAL romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Zodiac Tactical-a spin off from the author’s Linear Tactical series. This is former US Navy SEAL Harrison ‘Sarge’ McEwan aka Virgo, and twenty-three year old Bronwyn ‘Pony Girl’ Rourke’s storyline. CODE NAME: VIRGO can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sarge and Bronwyn) following several time lines CODE NAME: VIRGO follows the search and rescue of our story line heroine. Five years earlier, while on assignment in the Czech Republic, Harrison
‘Sarge’ McEwan would come upon a then eighteen year old Ukrainian Bronya Roch who had fallen upon hard times, forced to for the local cartel. In an effort to protect our heroine, if only for one night, Sarge would befriend Bronya Roch only to find himself the victim of an assault by someone else. Three years would pass before Sarge would, once again, find our story line heroine, and with the hopes of helping, offers Bronya the information to secure help from Zodiac Tactical. Fast forward to present day, Bronya now known as Bronwyn Rourke, was about to go on her first big assignment for Zodiac Tactical, an assignment in Marrakesh that would place Bronwyn on a path of death and destruction in the name of retribution and revenge. With no knowledge of what happened or why, the Zodiac Tactical team spend months looking for our story line heroine who disappeared without a trace, only to discover that she is but a shell of her former self, working for the group that was once connected to human trafficking, medical experiments, murder and fraud. What ensues is the hunt for Bronwyn, and the take down of the people in control as our couple struggle to make sense of their growing feelings for one another in the face of betrayal and an unknown enemy.

Harrison ‘Sarge’ McEwan has bided his time forming a relationship aka friendship with Bronwyn Rourke. Over five years had past since their first encounter but Sarge knew Bronwyn needed time to establish herself as an agent working for Zodiac Tactical but Sarge never suspected that Bronwyn had betrayed their friendships, and the people with he she worked, but proving otherwise found Harrison struggling to stay neutral when the proof said otherwise. Bronwyn Rourke has never been in control, and has found herself both the victim and perpetrator of horrendous events. Hoping to escape the h*ll that has become her life, Bronwyn comes face to face with the man that she loves, a man that is unaware of the path someone else is forcing upon our story line heroine.

The slow building relationship between Sarge and Bronwyn struggles in the face of time and distance, secrets and lies, power and control. Throughout most of the story line Sarge and Bronwyn remain apart-Bronwyn’s whereabouts are unknown but the few times she reappears she is nothing like the woman with whom Sarge would fall in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

We are reintroduced to former US Navy SEAL and CEO of Zodiac Tactical Ian ‘Aries’ DeRose, Landon Black, tech support Jenna Franklin, contractor Mark ‘Outlaw’ Outlawson, former SEAL turned rancher Lucas Everett, Evelyn, and Lena as well as the return of Callum Webb from the Omega Sector Series. There is something developing between Evelyn and Lucas. The requisite evil has many faces. Landon’s story is next in CODE NAME: LIBRA.

CODE NAME: VIRGO is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, manipulation, abuse, rescue and recovery. The fast paced, character driven premise is intriguing, engaging, dramatic and edgy; the romance is emotional; the characters are energetic, tragic and broken.

This story was phenomenal!!! This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone as we are given all information and backstory that is needed, without it being duplicated if you have read the first one. I loved getting to see Sarge and Bronwyn from the beginning. This book has some spots that cover the same time as Code Name: Aries but it is told from Sarge and Bronwyn's perspective and so it fills in certain parts of the story and feels new. This story is intense! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I had to read it in one sitting. Bronwyn has had a hell of a life and Sarge has offered her a way out. There are drawn to each other and he wants her to have the chance to make her own choices and build a life of freedom, knowing that she was able to do it on her own without it being handed to her. He got her on an instinctual level from early on and with their age difference he wanted her to make the choice and stand on her own for anything to ever potentially happen between them. I loved the connection between them and the way that they held onto it and fostered it even with everything that they had going on. Bronwyn is so strong, even though she doesn't feel like it most times and I love the way that the connection gives her hope, even when she questions what is real and possible. This story will keep you fully engaged and entranced from start to finish. I loved getting to know these two better and the story can be hard at times as their are trying to break Bronwyn but it is beautiful in its own way as well. This story is gripping and I loved getting to know Landan and Jenna and Outlaw better as well. I can't wait for the next book in this series and will definitely be picking up the Resting Warrior Ranch series as well (we get to see the Resting Warrior Ranch here as they are helping Bronwyn with what was done to her). This story was awesome!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Hot darn….this author does it again and delivers another hit with Sarge and Bronwyn. This read overlaps with Aries…another must read….and dives into the beginning in the resurrection of Mosaic, an enemy to Zodiac Tactical. Sarge meets Bronya aka Bronwyn, in Prague where he’s getting some R&R after a mission. He notices the teenage pickpocket and helps her that one day, and then years later runs into her again and this time leaves her with an out of her current life. Bronwyn takes the chance and leaves, becoming an operator for Zodiac in Paris. Just as she’s finally able to operate on her own….Mosaic strikes and it’s up to Sarge and his “ relationship” with her to know that what they see, isn’t the woman he knows.
Hot darn, another MUST READ from this author, suspense, twists and turns, surprises, steam and amazing characters that lead to another page turner. The story flowed beautifully and overlapped perfectly with Aries….how this author does it…I have no idea but kudos kudos kudos to her. Sarge, the protector, patient and a bit older than Bronwyn but they match perfectly. Bronwyn, with everything that she is put through, so strong and so deserving of a HEA with her Sarge….Stay Gold, Pony Girl (loved The Outsiders).

Code Name Virgo by Janie Crouch
Zodiac Tactical #2

What an introduction to two superb characters that go through so much to eventually find their HEA together. GREAT STORY!

What I liked:
* Harrison “Sarge” McEwan: Retired Navy SEAL, call sign Virgo, seasoned warrior, quiet, leader, intelligent, lethal, caring, kind, intriguing, team player, helps a young woman not realizing they will see one another again in the future.
* Brony: Eastern Europe, orphan, under the thumb of Prague mafia, intelligent, thief, difficult backstory, does what she must to survive, assisted at one time by Sarge
* Bronwyn Rourke: new recruit to Zociac Tactical, hired on the recommendation of Sarge, excellent skill set, lethal after training, becomes a pawn in a bigger game, strong in spit of all she ended up enduring
* Jenna: computer nerd, science background, recluse, PTSD, difficult backstory, someone I hope will have a story of her own
* Outlaw: does contract work for Zodiac Tactical, good friend, team player, someone I want to know more about and will star in his own book with Jenna…soon
* Landon: member of Zodiac Tactical, call sign Libra, has a book of his own this year – can’t wait
* Seeing Ian and Wavy again…hope to hear more about them in the future
* The sheep and alpacas…fun part of the story
* That the bad guys were dealt with very efficiently eventually
* All of it except

What I didn’t like:
* Exactly who and what I was meant not to like: Mosaic members, the mad physician, and other thugs
* Thinking about how evil some people are and how much suffering they create
* Knowing I will have to wait for the next book in the series

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Hang on to your seats because Code Name: Virgo is drama, suspense and excitement on steroids! I honestly don't know that I've ever read such a heart pounding, tension filled and thrilling romance. Janie Crouch, you are one heck of a writer! Virgo was definitely a cover to cover, all in one sitting read. There were times i gasped, clenched my fists in anticipation and sat on the edge of my seat as events unfolded. Sarge and Bronwyn are truly remarkable characters. He's more of a loner than a people person but do not doubt he's a protector to the very marrow of his bones as well as a deadly operative. Meeting Bronwyn proves to be a life altering experience for him. She is probably one of the strongest, most resilient and courageous characters I've ever come across. My heart ached for her as she endured unimaginable torment at the hands of an insidious and malevolent group of men. I don't know how you can not be affected by this powerfully emotional love story.

Code Name Virgo is the second book in the Zodiac Tactical Rescue Team series by Janie Crouch, and it definitely will be a book I'll want to re-read later. Virgo is the story of Harrison (Sarge) McEwan, a former Seal and Bronwyn Rourke, a young girl he meets and later recruits for the Zodiac team. How they meet is interesting enough, but it's afterwards that really pulls you into their story. What happens to them is harrowing. You'll run the gamut of emotions from laughing to crying and from screaming to cheering--back and forth-- for Bronwyn then Sarge, then Bronwyn again. Code Name Virgo is full of suspense and will keep you turning pages....all night long! I can't begin to describe how good Ms Crouch's latest book is...you need to decide that for yourself. Start reading the Zodiac Tactical series now. The first two books, Aries and Virgo are terriffic! I bet you'll agree.

This is a page turner (as is so many of Janie Crouch's books). This is book 2 of the Zodiac Tactical series and it is a standalone book, for the most part. That said, there is an overlap (time, events) with Code Name: Ares (book 1). Together or independently, these books are great. I lost some sleep in the reading of this book (I could not put it down and some of the events, wow, painful and heart rendering). Strong men and stronger women. Challenges and threats, friendship and love. This is the fourth series I have read by Janie Crouch and each series is intensive, challenging and magnificent.

I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow! Just when I wondered how Janie Crouch was going to top Code Name: Aries she completely blew me away with Code Name: Virgo! The two stories are both part of the Zodiac Tactical series but Virgo begins in the past then runs parallel timewise with Aries. Sarge is one of the Zodiac team members and in the past he recruited a young woman to join Zodiac. Zodiac was just the kind of fresh start Bronwyn needed after the rough hand that life had dealt her. Little do either of them know what life has in store for Bronwyn's future. Well if there is one thing that everyone knows is the Sarge is as determined as his code name and he will stop at nothing to save Bronwyn from enemies known and unknown! This story has everything that I look for in romantic suspense, great characters, intriguing story, action and more action and a love story that pulls at my heartstrings. It was told from dual POV and I cannot wait to read what is coming next for the Zodiac Tactical team!

I was captured from page one of this book and found myself squeezing every second I could at work to get a few words read! I’m also kicking myself for missing out on the arc of this beauty…
Bronwyn and Sarge’s story, like Wavy and Ian’s, was dark, but holy Hades their journey was worth every single heart wrenching moment. I didn’t know if I’d like this series, but Janie writes characters that suck me in and I find myself rooting and cheering them on from the sidelines every single time, no matter what situation they find themselves in. This series also has some really strong female leads, and the men who support them!, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Code Name: Virgo
A Zodiac Tactical Rescue Unit Book #2
Janie Crouch
An intense start in Prague where we meet Sarge an honourable SEAL 5 years back. And Bronya a street pick pocket who Sarge can’t help or protect for more than one night.
Twists and turns keep this fast paced plot moving with strong characters facing extreme circumstances right till the end.
This psychological thriller / romantic suspense sits firmly in the Zodiac Tactical series with overlapping timelines. However it can be read as a stand-alone novel with hea.
I received an arc of this book.

Virgo ARC Review

Virgo is the second in the Zodiac Tactical Series by Janie Crouch, and even though this is only the second book I couldn’t wait to read this story ever since meeting Sarge in the first book. You knew that there was something special about Bronwyn in the first book but I was not prepared for this roller coaster. Sarge is the man that every woman wants because he has this deep brooding demeanor and women can’t help but be drawn to him. Bronwyn is this beautiful young woman who is just trying to survive on her own and would do anything to break free. Sarge happens across her path and does everything he can to not get involved but she’s like the flame and he’s the moth drawn to her. He becomes basically her knight in shining armor and takes a beating so she doesn’t have to because he can’t bear the thought of her being hurt in any way. Bronwyn reinvents herself once she becomes part of Zodiac Tactical one to escape her past and to prove that she’s better than her past. Sarge tries to keep away from Bronwyn but she’s the flame that he can’t keep away from. Well when the past comes back with a nasty vengeance Bronwyn becomes a pawn in the worst chess game played. Will Sarge be able to not only save her but bring her back from the edge. Bronwyn knows Sarge is the only one who can save her but the longer it takes the more she’s afraid she will never be the Bronwyn they both know she is. This story had me almost throwing my iPad from all the twists, turns, action, almost heartbreak and then gripping it tighter with the passion, action and heat!!! This series is becoming my new favorite next to Linear Tactical!!!

I loved the previous book in this series so was really looking forward to this one. I have to say I was a little bit disappointed. For me there wasn't enough action and too much torture. How much can a young girl take?
Having said that, this was a love story, stretching over years. An older man and much younger woman. They meet when she is just a teenager. He is so drawn to her that he returns a few years later to help her escape her abusive life.
Unfortunately, her rosy future doesn't last and she is kidnapped, brainwashed and tortured.
Once again this is written in the first person. I prefer the third person and whereas I didn't mind Aries being first person, I struggled with Virgo.
However, it is still a good read and I look forward to reading the stories of the other Zodiac Tactical members.

Amazing!!!!! An intense, page-turner that makes the reader feel every emotion and pain revealed. Bronwyn survives the most horrific type of torture. Sarge lives through his own torment while she is in captivity. Even with the age gap, they make a wonderful couple. They heal each other. This is the second book of the series but can be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend the series.

What an amazin g character Bronwyn was. Sarge was working at saving Bronwyn who was kidnapped and brainwashed. Lots of angst as she fought her treatment from Mosaic which once again reared its ugly head. Lots of action and suspense. Janie shows that she has a better grasp on PTSD than most. Loved it!!!

Wow!

Bronwyn and Sarge take us on an emotionally heart wrenching journey as they struggle to overcome enemies who don't use typical weapons. They show an unending strength in their love and connection.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
