The synthesis of forty years of pioneering work by the world's leading authority on the emotional aspects of eating disorders."The definitive book on eating disorders....It is a classic."--Shervert H. Frazier, M.D., Harvard Medical School
I really liked this book. Ideas about anorexia and bulimia and obesity where presented along side ancedotes from the medical world and case studies (that were 2-4 paragraphs long, therefore long enough to make the point and provide interesting details, while short enough to allow the book to not become about case studies but be about the disorders in general). Both physical and psychological symptoms are considered and at the end of the book there is a section highlighting Bruch's experience with various treatments. At times a little dry, but worth perservering. Very interesting! Can be read 100 pages in a sitting or a few paragraphs at a time (ideal for bus to work haha).
