Josh As the withdrawn, unsocial rhythm guitarist for one of the country’s hottest rock bands, my role in this world is like second nature. I’m not much of a people person, thanks to my upbringing, and have zero trust in those who try to get close. I play hard, both on and off stage, and with the exception of my bandmates, I have no interest in making connections, women included. So I use my sparkling personality to maintain my broody image while shredding my guitar on stage, and keep people at a safe distance. Avoiding our new assistant on this tour should be a no-brainer. She’s everything I should want to push away : Beautiful, smart, driven… and way too damn young. She’s even doing me a favor, ignoring me, content to leave me to my broody stewing… and it’s driving me out of my mind.
Bobbi All I’ve ever wanted to do is work in the music business, to learn the ropes from the ground up and be a band manager someday. So when the chance to intern on a rock tour for one of the most acclaimed bands in the country, I jump on it, determined to give it my all and not let anything get in the way of proving myself – including the band’s handsome but aloof guitarist. His snarky attitude and god-like physique are proving to be a harder challenge than I thought, however, but not nearly as much as the way he looks at me. While I’m determined not to be the cliché assistant that falls for her rock star boss, it’s near impossible not to crave his yearning and possessive gaze. The way he makes me feel like so much of both a woman and a girl is addictive, and I’m in danger of losing sight of what I came here to do. If anyone finds out about us, I could lose my chance at a future in the music industry. If I fall for him, I could lose myself.
This was utterly great, I'm a sucker for books with musicians and damn it he was a freaking guitarist, I was swooning. There was so much tension between the main characters, it was a slow romance but definitely worth the wait.
Somewhere in between learning this is a rockstar romance, which I love, and learning the heroine is a virgin, which I hate, I fell in love with this story. Natalie Parker was able to write a story that took a trope I don't like and turn it into something I eagerly read and enjoyed. She didn't write the stereotypical virgin that I'm use to reading, but made her into someone I liked and respected.
Bobbi is a 20 year old woman whose parents are in the music industry and that's what she wants too. She wants to one day manage a rock band, but doesn't want her father, to just hand her a position at his label. So she goes to college part time, online and talks her father into being the assistant to the assistant of the group Turn It Up for the upcoming 3 month tour. Josh is the 32 year old rhythm guitarist who is known for his playboy antics and broody demeanor. He's the last guy in the band who is not in a committed relationship. He's immediately attracted to Bobbi, but tries to dismiss his feelings for her because although she carries herself as a mature woman, he finds out she is much younger than he thought. It doesn't take long for him to act on that attraction though, and they soon find themselves in a secret affair. The more time they spend together, the closer they become and their feelings for each other grow stronger.
This story is about a young woman who is wise beyond her years. Like I said, she is a virgin, a trope I usually can't stand, but the way she was written was perfect for me. She's independent, she's smart, she takes no shit from anyone and will put you in her place with a smile on her face. She isn't naive with hearts in her eyes. I love the reason why she remained a virgin for as long as she did, and I loved the way the losing of her virginity was written. She's trying to find her place in the world and learning how to balance her career aspirations and her feelings for Josh. Josh was so much more complex than we knew of from the information we've learned about him in the previous books. He had a tough childhood and continues to have issues with his family. Even his band members don't know about what he is dealing with, but he finds himself confiding in Bobbi. He's never been in a relationship and he's never seen what a healthy relationship looks like. He doesn't want to make any promises to her, but at the same time, that's exactly what he wants to do.
I loved everything about this story. It was incredibly well written with characters that you can't help but love. While this could be read as a stand-alone, I'd recommend starting from the beginning with See Her. Not only to get to know all the characters better, but because they truly are really great stories and you'd be missing out.
Sometimes you just have to learn to compromise and find the middle ground.
Josh is the one! Bobbi knows this. Now it's just a matter of convincing him that she is not just some naive 'girl'.
She's determined to prove herself to him and the world that she has what it takes to manage, despite her age. This woman isn't about to be mistaken for anything other than who she is. She will go after what she wants.
The playboy grump who goes through women like candy has definitely met his match with his new boss. He discovers very quickly she won't take his attitude without putting him in his place every time. Now he has to summon all his strength to resist her.
This one has it all! I fell in love with Josh and Bobbi after their first scene together and every time it just got better. The dialog was so good it had my body temp rising. It also brought me to my knees with the way he takes care of his 'good girl.' This book deserves every single roaring applause from the sold out crowd.
Josh is your typical rockstar and his needs are simple. He has his own room on the tour bus, his schedule is less frantic then before and there will be plenty of girls to make him happy. Especially now that he’s the only single guy of the band. Bobbi has promised her dad she’ll continue college online while she’s doing this tour assistant job on the road and that it’s only part time. When she meets Josh she’s sort of starstruck. She’s attracted to him and so is he but he’s fighting it. There are things in his life that have caused him trust issues. I love that he’s so crazy about her he can’t see straight. All the while treating her badly and acting like he doesn’t care. He’s waging a battle of will against himself and he’s just going to epically lose. Honestly I couldn’t wait to read that. Bobbi is ignoring him and it’s driving him absolutely nuts and I find it so cute. This story is really good, she’s independent and tough. I hate when a story falls apart because the female character is a doormat. I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommend it. After reading and loving this book I’m going to read book one.
Wow, Bravo Natalie Parker. This book!!!! Gah, I'm simping hard for Josh. I'm a sucker for a broody musician, if you can't tell. Josh and Bobbi were on fire. These two had a great dynamic the entire book. Bobbi doesn't put up with any of Josh's (well, Joshness). She's young but she knows what she wants, is smart, and independent. She was a great match for Josh, who is a bit of a moody playboy and even though he's older, get's schooled by Bobbi and I LOVED it. There was a major bomb in this book that I didn't see coming and bravo to the author for pulling it off. Usually you can see things coming but this I did not, although, I was smacking myself in the forehead for not figuring it out sooner. I was too preoccupied by Josh and Bobbi's love affair, that's why. Don't walk, run to pick up this book. Sooooo good.
This Story is PHENOMENAL !! An INCREDIBLE book that I could not get enough of or stop thinking about. I cannot even begin to tell you how ridiculously in LOVE with Josh Nolan I am and Bobbi is his Perfect Match,His Perfect Equal, despite their age gap Bobbi more than once holds her own against Josh and his moodiness. Somewhere In Between is about two people at very different stages in their lives,One who has already fulfilled his dreams and one who is at the very start of her journey of self discovery...But they have a unique connection that is so strong it cannot be ignored, but only becomes stronger through time. Natalie Parker's writing is EXCEPTIONAL,she blew me away multiple times with her descriptions of different situations and Rockstar life and being at a gig.Her words transported me there. It was so realistic I caught myself smiling as I read, just imagining the looks on the fans faces and the sheer adoration, the thrum of the music and the upmost power the Turn It Up boys hold over the whole crowd. In those moments I was in Rockstar Bliss...it is Amazing what the strength of great writing and a good imagination can do. And when Josh and Bobbi came together with their bodies it was so perfect and so Beautiful I felt like I was intruding on their private moment, it was so intimate and flawlessly written. Natalies execution was SUPERB I loved the way the scene traversed between the two of them and we got to hear from both of their points of view and what they were feeling and how it was changing them. I felt everything they felt and that is the capacity and force of unique and excellent writing. Did I tell you that I Love Josh.!!!..well he is so easy to love despite his mercurial and sour behavior at first,Bobbi chips away at his sharp edges and smoothes them out completely.Sexy and myserious he is the rhythm guitarist for the Band Turn It Up and known for his playboy ways. Bobbi maybe young at just 21 but she is all woman Strong and competant and she saves the day more than once on the tour she is interning for.I really liked her she would be a great friend to have I admired her independence.I think falling in Love surprised them both...But secrets they keep may break them. I Just LOVED reading this book and enjoyed every single page, every single word it is the Ideal blend of Sexy,Romantic, thrilling and emotional.Josh and Bobbi stole my Heart completely...and my Love for Natalie Parkers words has just become even greater. I Love this series and I Love Somewhere In Between. Outstanding!! A must read. More than 5 Stars...
Right from the start, Somewhere In Between had a magnetic pull that drew me in and I couldn't get enough of! There was a new and exciting dynamic to Josh and Bobbi's story that hasn't been seen yet in this series. The chemistry, the banter, the steam, and the wonderfully written moments that shot straight to my heart... just absolutely AMAZING!! Josh and Bobbi are Rockstar Romance FIRE and I was SO HERE FOR IT!!....
"𝙇𝙤𝙨𝙩?..." 𝙉𝙤...𝙄'𝙢 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚."...
From the moment they meet, Josh and Bobbi have this sexy attraction and fiery tension that is undeniably hot. It simmers and builds throughout the story and left me in eager anticipation for each and every single interaction between these two! I became utterly addicted to their special brand of verbal sparring foreplay. It's steamy, emotionally driven, sexy, and SO DAMN GOOD!!
"𝙎𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙗𝙪𝙩, 𝙨𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡."....
I LOVED BOBBI! Seriously, I have an epic GIRL CRUSH on this Gal! She's smart, feisty, driven, and mature beyond her 20ish years. Watching her "school" bad boy Josh time and again were some of my most favorite parts in this story! I wanted to shout "YOU GO GIRL " or high five her every time! She's a bad*** "boss" you can't help to respect and love.....
JOSH NOLAN....HOLY HELL...where can I sign up to be your "GOOD GIRL?!!" You surprised me in the very best of ways. I loved to finally get the insight into your character and the reasons behind your "Josh-ness." I couldn’t get enough of your cocky sarcastic snark. I wanted all of your broody bad boy sexy-ness. I fell hard for your sweet and swoony ways. You made me cry, rage, and made my heart explode in sheer happiness!! Hell, you "ALMOST" dethroned Jack as my favorite character!! (fans of the series will definitely get that! 😉❤️)....
This book is a whole lot of AWESOME wrapped up in a rockstar romance! I honestly could write forever on how DAMN GOOD it is!! I am so GONE over this couple! The heat, the intensity, the emotions of this story.....just FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!
Every time I read a book by Natalie, it's like coming home. I love these characters, their stories, and this series! I never want this ride to END!! Each book just keeps getting BETTER! Gimme my crazy boy Chris because this gal needs MORE!
Get this book on your TBR NOW! Somewhere In Between is going to ROCK YOUR WORLD!! 😘❤️
*I had the extreme pleasure of being an Alpha Reader for this INCREDIBLE book. All opinions are my own.
Natalie... GIRL you not only TURNED IT UP in this one, you absolutely ROCKED THIS STORY and I loved every single moment of it!! ❤️
Josh and Bobbi’s story is the next in the “Turn it Up” series.
Josh is the rhythm guitarist for the popular band Turn it Up. While he loves being on stage with his band, when it comes to everything off stage, he is very anti-social. His upbringing has left him very jaded when it comes to trusting anyone. And he sure as hell isn’t interested in a long-term relationship like the rest of his band mates.
When he walks into his bus, he’s met by a view of a beautiful young woman. Well, her backside. Sure she’s just a fan who managed to get onto the bus, he’s surprised to learn that she is in fact the new assistant who will not only be on tour with them, but will also be sharing a tour bus with him.
Bobbi is just out of college, still green and even though she’s the child of a touring veteran, she is not interested in the easy way. She wants to learn the ropes by herself. She’s also not going to get involved with anyone on the tour. This is all professional.
Josh finds himself drawn to Bobbi but is doing everything to ignore her, to the point that Bobbi thinks he doesn’t like her at all. Even when she tries to go out of her way to make him understand she is just there to do a job, he won’t pay attention.
One night at an after party, things go really sideways and Josh is the one to take notice and save Bobbi. So begins the journey that leads to laughs, tears, frustration and of course, hot sex.
Their story is a continuation of the Turn it Up series and Natalie Parker does not fail to give the reader a story that will cause all the emotions of the characters.
I actually started with this book and must say, I am now a fan. I have purchased the other books in the series and am reading them now. Well written, with a HEA, I highly recommend this book to rockstar romance lovers.
Be prepared for your heart to ache and your soul to burn! The best tension and steady, growing attraction that just builds and builds around a beautiful storyline and the sweetest happily-ever-after.
Josh is the country's hottest rock band's guitarist. He has zero trust for anyone trying to get close...thanks to his family. He plays hard on and off stage....keeping everyone at a distance. Then Bobbi joins the band as an intern-assitant in hopes of becoming a manager someday. She's beautiful, driven and too young for him. "She’s everything I should want to push away.." With something to prove, not even a rockstar guitarist she craves...will get in her way. "If I fall for him, I could lose myself."
There’s just something about the emotions and building attraction that makes slow burn romance all the more satisfying for this reader who already adores happy endings. Because of the slow build-up, the main characters are given time to develop a foundation of trust and familiarity with one another. As a reader, this makes their feelings more believable to me as well.
Meaningful moments really set the stage for the connection and the author really dives into each character’s emotions and motivations to help understand why Josh & Bobbi are recognizing and fighting this love, setting the chemistry to just ooze off the page. Natalie Parker knows how to perfectly write a slow burn romance I love!
I honestly fell so hard for her characters in the 'Turn it Up!' series. Each can be read as a stand-alone romance...but trust me, you'll get addicted and want them all!
So I was scrolling through TikTok and saw a video from an author I didn’t follow or heard of before. But there was text that said to DM for a free rockstar romance book with age gap. Now normally I am not a huge age gap fan ( It’s not the age gap that is the issue for me, it’s that most authors want to through in the “daddy” calling during spicy scenes that I don’t like) but I love a good rockstar so I DM’d and asked for a copy.
Now this past month I have DNF’d 4 books all by new to me authors…I wasn’t really having high hopes here. But boy was I very pleasantly surprised.
Somewhere In Between is an amazing rockstar romance! Bobbi is 20 and trying to get her start on the managerial side of the music industry. She gets a part time internship with a band assistant manager on a tour. Her first day on the job she has her first encounter with Josh. One of those “she could feel his presence before she saw him” reaction. Josh just saw her backside and thought she was a groupie that snuck into the tour bus.
The age gap was no big deal for me in this book. Josh is early 30s and the age difference between him and Bobbi is why he fought his attraction to her for so long. He knew she was young and that she had some major life happenings that she needed to go through. Even though Bobbi is young in age she has a certain maturity about her that makes her feel older than she is. Their connection can not be denied and they finally give in to each other.
If you love rockstar romances definitely give this book a try. It’s # 6 in a series so I will be going back and reading numbers 1-5.
If you love rockstar romance, Somewhere In Between by Natalie Parker is worth a try for you. It had all the intoxicating and exciting sides of the rockstar life with a steamy love story. Josh and Bobbi have the intense enemies to lovers tension so well.
Josh , rhythm guitarist of the hottest rock band has a very brooding personality and currently the only playboy remaining in the band as all his bandmates are in love. When Bobbi joins their tour as an assistant intern, he instantly feels attracted to her. But he wants to keep her at a distant. Bobbi doesn't understand why. But they do have incredible chemistry.
Bobbi is an amazing character. She is young, smart, ambitious, hard working, sassy and overall a brilliant woman. She could have used her family connection but she wants to learn the ropes of music industry hands on. She is independent and has a strong personality in comparison to her age. Josh is the brooding one of the bunch who has a lot of personal issues from past those he keeps guarded. His attraction towards Bobbi is kind of forbidden. He intentionally acted like an arrogant a-hole to push Bobbi away but couldn't hide his true feelings. Bobbi didn't let him trample her and pushed back whenever he was being irrationally aggressive. The chemistry is definitely here. Now there is a lot of back and forth. While that is interesting and sexy, it becomes tiresome after a while. I felt I was stuck in a loop and the story is going round and round and I just wanted to move on. One step forward, two steps back and the story slowed down a lot.
Oh My! My feelings for this rock star / age-gap / slightly forbidden romance story fall 'Somewhere In Between' loved and absolutely loved. Soooooo.. Full disclosure while I do love me an age gap romance, they tend to have me on edge going in. You know the thoughts? Will the heroine be immature and drive me crazy? And will the hero have me wondering what on earth are you thinking?
But... while 12 years isn't a drastic gap, it's still a gap, and Natalie Parker nailed this story and the characters. Bobbi our heroine, may only be 20 but she is most definitely beyond her years. She's strong, sassy, smart and independent. I absolutely freakin loved her! Josh our hero is the epitome of playboy rockstar. He's happy with single lifestyle, until he meets the young and beautiful Bobbi who instantly shakes up his life and feelings. Oh boy this broody and sexy man had me feeling all the feels! Sparks instantly flew between Josh and Bobbi which kicked off a game of push and pull / deny deny deny. And..... oh how I loved this game and the slow burn between them. It was riddled with sizzling chemistry, banter, angst, humour, solid friendships, sexual tension, some steam, and oh my heart swoon. These two are so perfect for one another. The yin to each others yang. And that ending!!!! I swear it was dust in my eye.. hehe..
5 I absolutely devoured and can't recommend this story enough stars!
One of my favorite things in a book is a kick ***, no holds bar heroine. I found that in Bobbi. I mean even her name is kick ***. Normally those heroines are older and more experienced in life events. But don't hold Bobbi's age against her. She proves to everyone that age is just a number. She doesn't take bull from anyone (especially Josh... lol), observes everything around her and can tell when something is off, is quick to think on her feet, and willing to help out whenever she can. She's the ultimately package and I absolutely loved her.
Somewhere In Between is the story of grumpy playboy Josh and our kick *** heroine Bobbi. These two try to stay professional but we all knew that wasn't gonna last long. Though I will give them both props for lasting as long as they did. However saying that, they also gave me whiplash at times... sigh. I really loved watching these two fall in love. I especially loved Josh and his revolutions; how he went from wanting to stay single to realizing that he wanted what his bandmates had. Then to realizing that he wanted those feelings with Bobbi.
There were a few dramatic movements. One with Bobbi, one with Josh's family, and then the big surprise. But none of them were crazy off the charts dramatic and just made these character feel more real. I couldn't love these two more. They had their ups and downs but in the end they got their HEA. I also loved catching up with the other bandmates and am VERY curious about Chris and Rebecca.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
Incredible. Fantastic. Amazing. What an awesome read. I didn’t want this book to end it was that amazing. I don’t know who I loved more, Bobbi, the feisty, sassy, incredible female character, who has her head on her shoulders and a dream and determination in her heart! Girl is a powerhouse. I loved everything about her. Or Josh, the playboy guitarist who is broody and fun and soooo determined to be single forever. That is until he meets his match in Bobbi, ohhhh soooo good!!!
These two compliment meant each other so well. And yet they are both fiercely independent. It made for an incredible story with such push and pull. The hotness their chemistry bring had me swooning and fanning myself so hard. I can’t forget to mention the incredible and wonderful supporting characters, the bandmates of Josh’s who you get extra looks and more story from each of them which was great.
Natalie Parker blew this story out of the water. It had a lot of everything rolled into one book. Hot guitarist! 🎸🤘🏼Age gap. Will they won’t they get together. There were three incredible surprise parts that had me screaming and jumping for joy. No hints but one was that not only did she have one epilogue she had two. I’m a sucker for an incredible epilogue, and she gave us two, thank you for this Natalie. Like I said, I did not want this story to end, it was that perfect. But the ending was incredible and do swoony. I loved this book soooo much! A must devour, drop everything and read for sure!!! 🤩🎸🤘🏼
Wow... what a book!! I totally didn't see this one coming and i loved Every. Single. Moment. of this book!!
Josh was never one of my favorites in this band, mostly due to his immature attitude in previous books, but wow this book totally changed my mind about him... well, once he got his head out of his butt that is!!!The way he was, the way he changed for Bobbi, everything, was so awesome and sweet. Well, and except for his minor freakout when he found out who Bobbi's father was!! But, honestly, i would've been shocked too!
Bobbi is so mature for her age. I truly loved her character and everything she did to make her dreams come true.
Loved this book so hard!! That wedding scene.... sigh!! My husband sang to me during our wedding, but he didn't write the song!!! Definitely 😍😍!! Would love to see a spin-off with Zero to Sixty!!!
He wants so badly to be an alphahole. He tries really hard, but he is just a sweet alpharoll. He doesn't want to want her, pushes her away, but once he decides that she is the one, he will do whatever it takes to prove that he can meet her in the middle.
She may be young, but she knows who she is, what she wants, and what it takes to get it, whether that is a career as a music manager or the hot rhythm guitarist she is currently working for.
Rockstar, age gap, workplace, forbidden
TW almost SA
I love this series because it isn't your typical rockstar romance. These guys are genuine good guys that just happen to be the hottest rock band on tour. They aren't about the fame, just the love of the music. Can't wait for Zero to Sixty to get a series😉.
I was in dire need of a book to take me out of my book slump after an amazing trilogy I read. Somewhere in Between by Natalie Parker did just that.
Rockstar romance ✅ Age gap trope ✅ Slow burn romance ✅
This book has all the elements and fantastic writing to make it a five star book for me. I will most definitely recommend this book to others because I love rockstar romances done right.
The character development and love between Bobbi and Josh makes it phenomenal! I most definitely need to go back and read the first books in this series as well as any other book written by Natalie Parker. She kept me engaged in the storyline and I just didn’t want to miss a beat. 🎵
Josh and Bobbi are pure dynamite together. She is young and in college but doesn’t mess around letting Josh intimidate her. Theirs is a passion to be reckoned with.
I highly recommend you to pick up this book. It was truly amazing and got me out of my book slump.
I love Bobbi, and she is my favorite of the significant others of the Band Turn It Up. She is definitely from a family of boys as she holds her own with the band and Josh. She is strong, intelligent, and has dreams with a plan to achieve them. She may be young in years but do not let that fact fool you; she is making her place in the music industry.
Josh is the playboy rockstar, but someone might be getting under his skin. He needs to work through some lingering family issues first.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Loved Bobbi and Josh together, still not as much as my all time favourite couple, the original and the best, maizie and Jack, lol. This is another fantastic read by Natalie Parker, love everything she writes and always look forward to more. I loved that Bobbi made Josh work for her and didn’t just cave into him and his grumpy attitude from the start, wasn’t keen on her punishing him so harshly but they get a fantastic HEA. If you haven’t read any of Natalie Parker’s books, do yourself a favour and start, writing is brilliant and characters are fantastic.
Somewhere In Between is definitely a book that deserves more than 5 stars. Ms.Parker gives us a story that is beautifully written, emotionally charged and one that has your attention right from the start. Talk about a hot and steamy, strangers to lovers, forced proximity and age-gap romance, this one has it all. It has been days since I read it and I still have a book hangover.
Bobbi and Josh will grab a hold of your heartstrings. Their story is one that was not an easy one for them. There were many bumps in the road, some due to them and some due to others that interfered in their relationship. Bobbi's dream was to be a manager of a band and prove to her father that she is made for the business. When the opportunity to be a junior assistant to the band Turn It Up on their next tour she jumps on it. Little did she know that not only would she gain the experience she would also have her life turned upside down. Why? Well, when Josh, the band's guitarist, introduced himself, it was not just a simple hi. He got under her skin and invaded her thoughts but she needs to keep her mind on her job, but can she? Will their interactions have more of a pull than her need to prove herself?
Josh is the guitarist for Turn It Up and he had no time for a relationship but will flirt and play around. He is definitely swoon-worthy and book-boyfriend material. Josh loves his life and wouldn't change a thing about it until Bobbi walks in and is in his thoughts. She seems driven to do her job and not to let his charming ways sway her. He starts to see the rest of the band with partners and wonders if maybe that life is something that he would like. Josh keeps telling himself that she is an assistant, too young but is beautiful and he keeps thinking of her. When there is a situation where Bobbi needs saving, Josh is the first one there. Could this get them to see that maybe there could be something? Can they both get over what they think needs to happen and go for what the heart wants?
The twist and turns will have your head spinning. The chemistry between the two of them is hot and steamy. Bobbi and Josh's story is a must-read and I highly recommend that you grab this book and a good chunk of time because you will not want to put it down. Although this is book 6 in the series, it is a standalone however I recommend that you pick up the complete series as the characters are involved in all the books and you will get an insight into their personalities.
Ms.Parker never disappoints with her storylines and her characters. I have read all the books in this series and I can tell you that they just keep getting better and better.
I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVED Bobbi. She is my favorite Natalie heroine to date. She made almost all the same decisions to her circumstances that I would have. I think she drug out the one circumstance that I wouldn't have and almost personally ruined her own HEA but she rectified that in the end. Bobbi is smart, strong, kind, thinks on her feet, stands up for herself, isn't a pushover (especially with her family, that is one of my biggest pet peeves, pushy/nosey family/friends and she shut that crap down super quick) and isnt a closet groupie. She is just what I want in a heroine and she had me loving her character the whole book through.
The one piece I didnt care for and I know I'll be in the minority over it was the scene just before the encore at the concert,
“So I take it that’s the one time they’re allowed to be shirtless?” I joke to Kelly as I cross my arms to take in the encore. “Yes, exactly,” she laughs, eyes facing the band. “Just because I work for them, doesn’t mean they get to flaunt their abs in my face and give me a 24-hour lady boner,” she rolls her eyes. “I second that,” I laugh in solidarity. We’re here to work not ogle, and they need to help with that."
So kick back satan I can hear all you complaining at what I just said as you're reading this but two wrongs don't make a right. And before you get all butt hurt, I dont want to hear your excuses, I don't care that men do it, that men have been doing it for years. This is still sexism, plain and simple. It can't be justified. We either accept it being done to us so we can also do it or we don't do it at all. Because if you reversed the genders here I'm sure you see my problem with this part. Equality is equality in ALL its parts. And I'm not gonna lie I reeeealllly struggled when I read this in the book. Women never feel they need to help men with this but these women expect that from the men?????
Now on to happy things.
Josh ❤ awwwwww Josh. I love him. I loved watching him mature, even if hes in his 30s, better late than never 😂 I liked how self aware he was during the book. He has such hidden depths that he feels he has to keep on lockdown because of his growing up years thanks to his dad. Man, childhood trauma is no joke. But once he came to terms with his past he really let his emotions envelop him. The unanswered texts he sent, the apt window scene, the song he wrote and played, be still my heart Josh, you're almost my favorite Natalie hero. Jack, I gotcha, don't worry I can feel you across state lines. But this one isn't about you it's about Josh.
Natalie, the intimate scenes you wrote in this book, sheer perfection, the feelings just jumped off the page and hit me in all my feels. I've never felt your words before like I did here, I think you're just getting better and better and it shows. I want to go on and on about this because truly I feeeeeeeeelt the emotions.
Now Natalie, my ONE complaint. You love your baddies and I mean villains, not your baddies who are sexy (Josh) you never give me the karma I need. I need ALL the minutiae of their comeuppance. WHAT HAPPENED in detail to Josh's dad. I need allllll the details. Next book riiiiiight? Right?
Thank you for bringing us these boys and the lives they lead. I've loved them all. ❤
Great read. Josh and Bobbi were a great combination. I loved that Bobbi didn't fall on his dick, that she had self-control, self-respect, and that she made him work for it. I did NOT like that she freaked out after his one mistake and then punished him by pushing him away. Overall, a wonderful read.
"I guess it’s true what they say about a slow burn having the biggest explosion."
I could not have put it better myself! Natalie Parker has hit it out of the park with this installment of the "Turn It Up" series!
Josh, the broody, thirty-something guitarist from the band "Turn It Up" is the last man standing. All of his friends and bandmates have found love, leaving Josh behind to become the "bad boy" of the band. He is single and all the attention from the woman who once wanted a piece of the other members of "Turn It Up" have set their sights on Josh. Who wouldn't want that. Josh thought he did, but now he is thinking he might be wrong.
Bobbi, a 21 year old student, accepts an internship to prove to her parents (who are both in the music industry) that she has what it takes to become a "rare" female manager in the biz. She has her head in the game and she is going to prove this to herself as well. Nothing can stop her right?
Natalie Parker has taken my heart and made it explode into a million pieces of rock star romance confetti! I couldn't have loved this book anymore than I already do. When people recommend rock star romances to me to me, I usually think "been there, done that". But "Somewhere in Between" challenged that notion. She brought something new to the table for me. It wasn't all swoony FMC thinking the only thing that matters is getting that rock star in bed, they fall madly in love and she is taken care of with his millions forever.
This book gave me all the feels, seriously. It took my emotions on a bit of a ride, as I actually felt a huge connection to these characters. I was rooting for them in both the romantic aspect of the story, but also the secondary storyline of both Josh and Bobbi. Ms. Natalie Parker really drew me in to their world and made the characters relatable and likable. Overall I would say that this book is a hit as big as "Turn It Up"s number one hits! Great work and I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Parker's work!
There wasn't a lot that I didn't love about this book. But I do have to say that I was disappointed in one of Natalie Parker's choice of words for one of the queer characters in her book. I am not going to use the word that I am speaking about, but if you read the book, I am sure you can pick it out. I understand that these words are out there and are attached to the LGBTQ+ community, especially homosexual men, but I felt like there wasn't a need for that word to be used. There are better and more friendly words that can be used to describe people. In the future we can all do better.
This book also includes an attempted sexual assault. It is not very graphic but I feel that it could be triggering for some that have experienced something of this nature.
A small trigger that should be given as well is there is an age gap in this book. It is not a huge gap (it kind of bothers me that it is considered an age gap, maybe because it makes me feel old LOL) but it is still there and it is discussed quite a bit throughout the book.
** I was sent an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and reviews about this book**
Oh my God, ya'll. I will be the first to admit, I love a good Rockstar romance. And when I say good, I mean that. I have read many. This is one of the FEW that I enjoyed. But not just enjoyed. I devoured this book. I couldn't stop reading it.
Okay. Let's back up. I have never read a book by this author before. This is my first one. When I was offered an ARC Copy by her PA, I jumped at it. And I mean that. I don't ARC for just anyone. I have my own author schedule to keep, and it's insane. I do not have time to read unless I am unable to sleep due to insomnia and anxiety. The only people I have ever ARC-ed for have been close friends. And I do mean close.
So, when I was offered this book as an ARC, I hesitated slightly, but only because I worried I wouldn't be able to commit to reading it on time. After I got over that, I accepted because this book sounded so freaking interesting. And again, I love a good Rockstar Romance.
I wasn't disappointed. The blurb had me hooked. Come on. Sexy as sin and very moody guitarist of a seriously successful rock band? Um... yes please. Hot, smart, knows what she wants female main character? Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
The sexual tension was intense. The chemistry was so off the charts, it is in it's own stratosphere. The drama. The back and forth. The spicy moments. The loving moments. Oh my God!!!! I can't say enough!
There were some moments I wanted to slap Bobbi for being seriously childish. But then there were moments I wanted to kick Josh for being just as ridiculous. I was so annoyed at the end, I had a look on my face that I thought would be permanently etched into my facial features. But all of the swooning and beautifulness and the ending made up for it all.
I went through so many emotions in this book. What am I saying? All. I went through all of the emotions in this book. I laughed. I cried. I threw my phone. I gasped in shock. Awe. I got angry. I had a panic attack at some of the intensity this author delivered. When I finished it, my shattered heart was put back together.
I just can't say enough. I can't. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in this series. I, admittedly haven't read them all yet, just this one, but they are well deserving of their place on your TBR.
I am glad I was given this book because I just discovered an amazing author that I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to read. I now can't wait to fill my library with more of her books. All of them. Give me them all.
Somewhere In Between is a strangers-to-lovers, forced proximity, age gap rockstar romance. And believe me, this book will have you feeling every emotion possible on Josh and Bobbi's rollercoaster ride.
Bobbi has always had the dream of managing her own band and showing her father that she could do the job just as good, if not better, than he himself does. When an internship opportunity arises, she jumps at the chance to get some hands-on experience. What she doesn't know is this position will change her life, forever.
Josh is the guitarist for Turn It Up and definitely didn't want to have a relationship. He would rather flirt with women. He loves his life, even if he does find himself on quiet moments, watching the rest of his friends with their partners and wondering, what if. He finds himself attracted to the new assistant, Bobbi, but believes himself to be too old and jaded for her. He definitely has some swoon-worthy moments throughout. And I will admit to melting at the way their story concluded.
When Bobbi's life is endangered, it's Josh who is ight there to save her. The question remains, will this moment open his eyes to what he could have if he would just let go of his insecurities and open his heart?
I have to admit at times I really wanted to slap Bobbi, and really wish someone would have called her out on her behavior towards Josh. Her drawing out the aftermath just felt childish and immature when most women would have accepted his apology the first time and moved on.
The twists and turns that the author takes you on throughout the book due to bumps caused both by themselves and by others who interfered in their relationship had me simultaneously reading faster and mumbling to myself about how idiots need to leave this awesome couple alone.
Their chemistry is off the charts and I would definitely recommend you check out this book and the rest of the series as you will not be disappointed. I know I sure wasn't!
Having read Ms.Parker's work many times before i always look so forward to picking up more of her books! As soon as this one was announced i couldn't wait to read it! Having read other Turn It Up books i was so happy to get more of this world and series! I picked it up and got into it quickly. I so enjoyed this story!
Bobbi and Josh's journey pulled me in! As these two are brought together when Bobbi is the new assistant for Josh and his band's Turn It Up tour. I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for these two!
Right from their very first meeting, these these two had my full attention. I was so glad that i got to jump into both of their minds and dig deeper with them! I really admired Bobbi and how she went after her dreams. I really liked getting to peel back Josh's layers and get the real. Bobbi and Josh had great chemistry! These two had me feeling so many things from start to finish!
It was so awesome being back in this world once again and getting to reunite with the Turn It Up crew!
With Somewhere In Between, Ms.Parker has created such a good read with feels! I can't wait to read what she comes up with next! Check this series out!
There are triggers mentioned by the author in synopsis of the book so be sure to check them out.
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
When two people who are polar opposites mostly due to their age difference finding somewhere in between where they can meet and fall in love is a subject that Natalie explores in this latest book in the Turn it Up series.
When Bobbi the new intern meets Josh the moody rhythm guitarist there is instant attraction but grumpy snarky Josh is reluctant to let anyone into his life least of all a girl who is a decade younger than him. Bobbi is smart and driven and wants to be a band manager in the industry and she is determined to do whatever it takes to get there, except fall for one of her bosses.
The chemistry between these two is totally off the charts and despite all the odds against them it was only going to be a matter of time before their passion got the best of them. Josh finds himself taken with this girl who shows him that she is very mature for her age and would be his perfect match even though he doesn't realise it yet.
I loved this slow burn passionate romance with two people who are at different stages of their lives, Josh has seen it all in the business and Bobbi is just beginning her career. Falling in love was a terrifying experience for Josh due to his past and his not wanting to stand in the way of Bobbi's career. But Bobbi who is wise beyond her years showed him that she was ready to take a chance on their love and that he was "the one" for her. Their love scenes were beautiful and poignant and I have to say that Josh made me swoon many times when he showed his vunerability.
Natalie's writing was amazing and so realistic that I felt myself a specatator watching the story play out. She gave us a story that kept me engrossed but then put in a totally unexpected twist that raised it to another level.
Somewhere in Between is a worth addition to the Turn it Up series and can be read alone, but for more enjoyment and background on the characters I recommend reading the previous books.
A moving and engrossing rockstar age-gap romance with blazing chemistry and just the right amount of hotness, Natalie Parker knows how to keep you mesmerised from start to finish.
Bobbi and Josh's story is one hell of a bumpy right, and there is plenty of twists and turns in this story, Bobbi has a dream of working for a record label, and although she doesn't need to start from the bottom that's what she wants to do, getting the opportunity to act as a junior assistant on the next Turn It Up band tour is a dream, that is until she meets the intense but extremely hot rhythm guitarist Josh, the first meeting is rather awkward, but as the tour gets underway the embers of the flame between them starts to pick up, but Josh is older than Bobbi and is dealing with family issues that always keep him somewhat closed off, the push and pull and the hot and cold between the two is played out really well, you really feel the connection between Bobbi and Josh, but just as that bumpy road starts to run smoothly another great big hole is about to open up.
Loved this book, can't believe I have read it in this series.
Somewhere in Between… wow. I was really looking forward to reading this story, and it did not disappoint! Natalie Parker wrote a wonderful forbidden romance story that proves that age is just a number. While 12 years isn’t a huge gap, and I have read books with a larger gap, the author wrote each character perfectly, and it had me wanting more. 😍❤
Josh is a grumpy playboy who goes through women faster than you can blink sometimes. Bobbi doesn’t take shit from anyone, and I love that she has a don’t mess with me attitude. She considers everything around her and is very mindful of everyone around her, something I can relate to.
Josh and Bobbi’s chemistry is off the charts. They try to stay professional with each other, but their attraction is too much to handle. The angst was pretty spot on; there was a lot of love, and watching Josh realize what he wanted in life was beautiful to read. Sometimes I found Bobbi to be immature at times; overall, I would highly recommend this age-gap, rockstar romance! 🔥🔥
Somewhere in Between can be read as a standalone, but you should check out the entire "Turn it Up" Series by Natalie Parker!
