Does this game have any loyalty?

While I have not read Silk’s first book “Married to da Streets.” With “Tears of Hustler,” he has listen to his fan base and had some editing done and giving more to read. I give him credit for listening to his readers. I must say author Silk White had me hooked I love this book and could not put it down; I am patiently waiting for his next one drop. Silk White is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Ali is the main character a drug dealer who dreams of helping his people overcome the ghetto. Ali has a business sense about him. Ali’s partner G-Money is loose cannon with a deep hatred for the police; making these two an unstoppable team. They have a force of killers and untamable youngsters behind them. Everything is good until an OG named Rell comes home and wants a piece of the pie. Add to the mix a dirty detective, some snitches, and this makes for a real page-turner. “Tears of a Hustler” has the winning combination of backstabbing, murder, shootouts, deception, trust, love, coupled along with twist and turns. You have to read this MUST READ to see who comes out on top or is it a losing battle for all involved? If you have lost your faith in street lit this is the book for you!!!!

The supporting cast come together lovely. There is Nancy Ali pregnant girlfriend, Coco G-Money main squeeze, and Nancy best friend. Spanky Ali younger brother whom is a talent boxer awaiting a title fight. Big Mel is Ali person bodyguard. Christie is Spanky’s stripper girlfriend/wife. They all add a special element to this book and makes it complete.

Did this book have an editor at all? Only gave it 2 stars because the story moved, but the horrible grammar and terrible spelling errors took away from it.
I understand it's urban fiction, but does that mean it has to be presented in an almost illiterate manner?

Wow this book was off the hook

Five stars because I found the plot to be almost believable. I felt apart of the story as I read and couldn't put it down. My heart went out to Spankey for having his life long dreams crushed and not being able to handle life after that.

Well let me say, I love the title and love the cover, but I couldnt get into the book. Maybe it was the several punctuation and spelling mistakes that I found or the structure of the dialogue (multiple people talked in one paragraph as apposed to everyone having tbeir own line) or maybe all the cursing. I only read the story of Nancy, thats how the book started and thats what I wanted to finish with. I hate being introduced to another story in the next chapter.

The story of Nancy is about a woman in an abusive relationship and ends up in a better one, but with a drug dealer. Interesting story, but I have a problem. Coco, a friend of Nancy's calls her a Christian. That's where the trouble begins for me. Nancy is a single, soon to be mother, worked at some place topless for a couple days, curses, threatens people and even masturbates. About a month later she's already moved in with him and has premarital relations (and we're given a somewhat graphic play by play of it) Now, I don't want to get into a debate in the comments on how a Christian should behave. What they do behind closed doors is between them and God, but if you are going to write about a Christian in a book, I think that they should be portrayed as such. Throughout all of Nancy's troubles not once does she ask God for help. Needless to say she wasn't a Christian at all and Im guessing her friend Coco said it as a joke of sorts. if that's the case the author should have acknowledged that, her actions after carrying the christian title upset me.

Overall I'm rating it a 2 stars because some stuff did interest me, but between Nancy character, the explicit sex activity and other things I had to take away stars. Again books should come with warning labels.

This is not going to be much of a review...the book was very forgettable. It lacked character development and a plot. Ok here it goes.

Ali and his crew (G-Money, Diesel, Skip, Big Mel, plus others)are drug dealers with a heart. They have their territory on lock down, due to a lucrative deal with a rogue detective. The detective wants Ali to get rid of G-Money, but Ali refuses. The detective decides that he will allow another dealer, Rell to take over Ali and his gang's territory because he needs to keep his pockets lined. This decision causes an all out war between the two gangs.

With a gang war going on, the women who love these men are left wondering what is going to happen to their men. Nancy, the abused, pregnant girl, who Ali has fallen for finds out that being down for her man will come at a high cost. Coco finds herself conforting her man's side piece at the hospital, and April decides that enough is enough.

If that isn't enough, there is a snitch in Ali's gang? Who is it?

All this was happening, but nothing was happening. The first half of the book was BORING! The second half was filled with senseless killings. There was no character development. Not sure if I'm going to read part two of this series.....

I am astonished at the positive reviews this book has received. Aside from the laughable editing, I find it unbelievable that anyone could sympathize with the murderous and moronic characters who think nothing of mowing down innocent bystanders in their quest to be king of the drug dealers. They are not only criminals, they are criminally stupid. What self-respecting drug gang manages to get caught in three (or was it four) ambushes. Even I, mild-mannered, country librarian, knew it was a bad idea to put the guns back in the car in chapter 48.

This book was a free download from Bookbub. I read it out of curiosity about the genre. I will have to try another "urban" novel, but not until I get the bad taste out of my brain from this one.

Ali runs the streets and with help from a crooked cop, he stays on top. Rell is an old school hustler, fresh out of prison and looking to get back in the game so he goes to Ali for a job. Things fall apart quickly when the key players start to lose their tempers. Heading the problems is G-Money, Ali's second, who acts first then thinks about the consequences.

This was a really slow read for me. Not much happens for the first half of the book to get me excited. I'm noticing that lately with books, stuff is happening but the authors are not drawing me into the story. I'm not sure if I will read the second one or not.

McDonalds. Nancy (PG) asked if she could take his order.
Dave (A/A, Nancy’s BF, drunk, former Riker’s Island inmate) wanted the 9-piece nuggets/fries.
Mr. Wiggins (mgr.) warned her to be careful.
Coco (Nancy’s BFF, prostitute, gold digger) went to see Nancy & made her & better job offer.

Tray handed G-Money (pimp, criminal partner) 3 stacks of $bills.
Calvin shot Skip in his hip. Gerald “G-Money” told him to stay off his turf.
Detective Nelson was letting G-money know someone popped Deandre “Lil Andre” Johnson.
Rell (former inmate) sent G-money & Ali (drug dealer) a message. Butch was dead.
Harlem Manhattan, NYC, NY. Ali was there when Nancy delivered her baby boy. Word was his name.
Detective Nelson had called Big Mel. There were 2 more officers had been slain.
Wise had been gunned down also.
Spanky (UFC fighter) had an accident so Christie quit working at the strip club.
Freddie came to see how he was doing.
Ali told Nancy he had quit the gang.
G-money (driver) & Skip were laughing/watching in a green Honda as Beverly’s head came crashing into the windshield.
G-money parked the Honda on a deserted block & the 2 took off on foot.
100’s lined the funeral polar to pay their respects to Beverly.
Spanky started working out again as Christie watched.

What was Coco confronting G-money about?
Who will the fight between Spanky & the James “The Terminator” Johnson (30+, white reporter)?

Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material (verbal/mental/physical/sexual abuse, human sex slavery, prostitution, & trafficking) which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one. All thoughts & opinions are entirely my own.

A very awesome book cover, & proper great font & writing style. A fairly well written urban crime thriller book. It wasn’t always very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish, but never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Erica
crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. Kinda cheesy but I will still rate it at 4/5 stars.

Urban life - something that not everyone, not many could even start to understand. The players have a life they are building on the streets. Some have the idea to play for life and life of other, to build up the community and help the people. Other play for the life, they want the power, money and local fame. Then there are those that don't care about much but themselves and they just might work behind a shield that gives them more room to play than should be allowed. The sad fact is that all the playing leads to death and degradation of the community and families in it. Even those that play not part find themselves tangled in the game.

First time reading this author and at first I thought I was going to have to step away , I thought I might be too far out from my 'norm', however soon I found myself totally involved in the people and their lives. I was mad and sad and happy with them all at one point or another. There is always more to a story than what meets the eye sometimes you even have to admit those you normally support are those doing wrong, there seems to always be at least one bad apple.

Good urban story, yes some prof reading issues, but I'm not perfect and do let minor issues take away from a new author and perspective.

The book was a good 👍 read. The way it ended makes you want to get the second book to see why spanky killed himself you didn't seem that coming, and you want to see what the outcome was with g-money tell and that dirty cop detective nelson. Also what happens to ali and nancy. But big Mel is really dirty, was shock to see the dirt that he was doing to ali to get on top and it still backfired. That saying is so true keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I didn't think I would like this book

So, I don't normally read books like this but I ordered cause it was free. This was such a good story, I felt bad for poor Nancy, that girl just couldn't catch a break, any way, I'm getting ready to read part 2.
