He knows he should jump on it, but leaving home is harder than he thought. He turns to his dancer friend Rob for support, but Rob's presence around the clique triggers star athlete JZ's feelings of homophobia. As JZ's discomfort simmers, his feelings get the best of him when he finds himself seriously attracted to Jacinta#151;and discovers she's on a different page. PWith relationships in the balance and friendships at risk, iFlipping the Script/i challenges the guys to step up when the stakes are high.

I'm a creature borne of pop culture. It's created a volatile mix of hope and cynicism within me that I help myself understand by putting my young characters through the world's paces.

I have a big heart for young readers. Young Adult and Middle Grade novels are my home.

And because no one lives in a vacuum, I co-founded The Brown Bookshelf to ensure that the spotlight on children's lit created by persons of color never dims.

So far this book is great! Mina is having a hard time trust =ing Brian while he is at college. She feels that he is doing stuff behind her back. So many people have heard things about Brian and the rumor ends up at Mina. She doesn't know what to do! Mina finds out about a website that Brian is on. It's a chat website that allows him to talk to other girls around his school. she ends up playing with him on the website as another girl. He falls for it and says he doesn't have a girlfriend. Will their relationship end or will they work it out?
Jacinta and JZ are really starting to get serious. Everytime they get together Jacinta ends thinking about what Raheem would say if he found out.Jacinta can't help but to think of JZ when Raheem is away at college. Lately all Raheem and her do is argue she is so sick and tired of it. She just wants to end their relationship but she feels like she can't because everytime he comes home she is going to have to see him.
Lizzie on the other hand is doing great. Her and Todd worked things out and they are happy then ever. He still is a little mad that Lizzie is in the pact. Her one year will soon end.
Kelly now has a new boo "Greg" so far so good. Angel hasn't said anything to Kelly since she dissed his for a prom date. He was pissed at her at first but he got over it. She stills has thoughts about him like how he has been and stuff.

Despite two copy-editing errors that just shouldn't have happened (it's conscious of, not conscience of, and plural of kids is kids, not "kid's", Dafina Books), I really enjoyed this book. The dialogue and clique-centricity of the plot accurately reflect the tone of life in high school. Not that my high school life was like this, but the total intense focus on relationships, fluctuations in hang out time, how long it takes someone to text you back, how far to get involved in the mistakes your friends are making, how to balance being selfish vs. supportive... it rang true.

Flipping the scrip was actually a good book. For some reason when it came out it wasn't in any book stores. When i finally got it i was so excited. The only problem i had with it was i didn't like the ending since Mina and Brian broke up.Does anyone know if there is a continuation because it was confusing? In the back of the books it usually tells if there is going to be another one coming out, but this one didn't.

The book was really slow at first and I didn't want to really finish it thinking it couldn't become much better, but the end actually turned out being alright. It wasn't great, but it was a good way to pass the time. Some of the lingo was kind of hard to understand and it seemed like some of the chapter titles and the lyrics that went with them were just kind of out there and really didn't add to the book, but other than that, I enjoyed some of it.

I liked it...I'm really bummed JZ and Jacinta didn't become "a thing"....I wish Michael wasn't secretly gay...I wish Brian hadn't cheated on Mina....I wish the clique didn't breakup...I wish there was another book.....
