A great explanation of the urgent need for the church to restore urban areas. Recommended for anyone who wants to understand the heart behind relocating to the inner city. A must-read for anyone considering relocation.

A little bit dated, but still incredibly relevant today. Lupton's Biblically-based concept of how to rebuild broken communities falls under the category of "things I know to be true and agree with whole-heartedly, and yet I'm likely too chicken-sh*t to actually do myself."

His other book, Toxic Charity, is also amazing and fleshes out some of these concepts. A must read for social workers, do-gooders, volunteers, and other people who want to make the world a better place.
