Souls on fire…

USA TODAY bestselling author India R Adams writes stories of souls on fire. Whether India’s characters are feeling the heat from hell or the wings of grace, they are all transforming and want to share their journey with you. Her novels range from Dark MC, Paranormal, to Contemporary, but each story is either a path of destruction or a road to redemption.

Sometimes both.

So, if you want to read about voyages of the heart, the grit to rise from one’s knees, or the strength to break free of the binds of a spirit, then pick one of India’s stories because she believes damaged souls are worth saving and that there is nothing more beautiful than a soul on fire.

This is my first time reading a MC romance mixed with paranormal and it was definitely unique experience! It had a dreamy spooky vibe with plenty of action, gore and steam. It is high on darkness and surprise elements. I am still processing all the twists. This may be the story of Thunder and Rya but it goes way deeper. Fallen angels. Devils and saints. Corrupt MC and then the right kind of bikers cleaning the evil.

This story is told in two parts and I am still not sure I have got all parts right. It is so hard for me to review it because I have no idea how to do that without spoilers. This starts with Onus and Rosa, who meet in a festival ground where the fallen angel saves Onus in hope of the light in him getting brighter. But the devil overwhelms her light and the MC president becomes worse than his father. Part two is about Rya and Thunder who are bound by the tragedy of their parents. Thunder will slowly realise he carries the power of the deity too and he will be the redemption of many.

It was so complex and layered. And the writing has a dreamy poetic vibe. Yet it carries so much raw darkness. The depravity knows no boundary. But ultimately hope and healing prevails and it shows love can win over every darkness. No character in Thunder and Rya's past is completely angel or completely devil. Thunder and Rya are the purest part of these bikers life. It was suspenseful and dramatic in extremes.

I can’t believe how much I liked Onus in the beginning, I double checked to make sure onus was the bad guy
My heart was broken reading how awful he truly his😥
Rosa and Onus were like a moth to a flame, I can’t imagine loving someone this much and hating them as much
Moving towards better people, my little nino, Thunder what a man, what a soul, fell for him more than I already had, thunder and Rya are completely meant for each other😭
Now moving toward Diesel, damn I wanted to comfort that hunk of a man, funny, sincere, loving, what’s not to love😊
I never thought I would like a paranormal book this much, but damn, did I fall to damn hard for this story🥰

I’m completely drained. India is always very good at making me feel these stories and Praying for Lightening is close to one of the hardest hitting yet. I have always been drawn to the mystical aspects of life which is another reason why I love her stories so much. Do they hurt? Of course, some more than others but you know what else they do? They also heal. They make you see that good can come from bad, all we have to do is look for it and believe. Thunder and Rya’s life has been a lot like some of the others we have met over the years but what’s different here, is we see who is responsible and where it all began. Not that it softens the blow, but gives more insight to why things happen the way they do. This story is going to take you on a journey of desire, love, hate and absolute madness. You know it wouldn’t be an India book without it and I’m here for every second of it!

And the story comes full circle.
Book two, we go back to Thunder’s parents. Onus and Rosa.
Rosa, a fallen angel defies her father and saves the man she knows she can keep his soul from darkening.
She fails.
When Rosa makes the decision, she turns human and Onus turns evil. Keeping her and doing the absolute worse to her, she still loves him harder.

This dark, gritty, paranormal MC world is tragic and filled with so much darkness. My heart broke for Rosa over and over again. I was so mad that Onus couldn’t fight the evil that overtook him.
We meet angels, deity’s, and even… Lucifer….

Not as heavy in romance and spice, India R Adams is a storyteller. It’s pure magic. She can wring out your emotions and drain your tears dry.

The last half of the book is Thunder and Rya’s continued love story. Those two are fated to be each others everlasting.

Death. Tragedy. New beginnings.

So many side characters, I can see the world be built up for more books and I’m ALL here for it.

Insanely Captivating!!

I don’t want to give much away but I will say that there are trigger warnings for a reason. If you can deal with those then you will love this book with so much to offer including a little PNR. It was so many things all at once with heartbreak, suspense, steam, darkness and twists and turns that never stop. I fell in love with Thunder and Rya. There so many good support characters that I’m hoping get their own books. This is a fairly new author to me and one I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her work.

Every time I read a book by India R Adams I end up saying that it was SUPERB, her writing makes me swoon and keeps me glued to my Kindle from start to finish. The book started with a very fantastic Dedication and, the story is divided into two parts. The first part is Onus & Rosa and the second part is Thunder & Rya.

The first part is a total surprise for me. Here Paranormal meets MC and there is Ballistic BOOM all over. Knowing how Thunder comes into existence was such a great experience for me. I loved every bit of the story of Onus and Rosa. Even the darker parts were mesmerising. Everything happens for a reason and I can see by the end of the book that they all are justified.

When I read book one there were hints of extraordinary existence but I never thought that it will be full-blown magical territory in book two. If it’s being mentioned somewhere then I definitely have missed that part but nonetheless, I am amazed with the plot and the direction of the story.

The second part starts with a kind-of summary in a poetic way and refreshes the memory of “Praying For Thunder”. Rya is so lost and confused that it hurts to see such a sweet person feel that way. It’s finally time to see her pov. I enjoyed catching up to their sides of the story and all the mystery revealing was an added perk to it.

At so many points I was like ‘Oh my god’ what is happening and ‘Oh so this was related to that part’ kind of thing. The riddles by Lu were so terrifying, I was almost afraid to find out the answers behind them, and the connections they made in the entire story were some hardcore reality being highlighted.

I am so happy that I got to read this story and now I am thrilled to see what comes next since it was left in such a surprising cliffhanger. Happy reading to everyone.

”Anger is a beast that eats you from the inside out until you, yourself, form into a beast. Instead of rising from ashes as a blazing phoenix, I rose as the worst human being possible.”

WOW! Every time I read a story by India, I am blown away by how much heart and soul she puts into her writing. The way that she weaves a story filled with such poetic and lyrical writing and the deep emotions that are written on every page, hits us readers hard. We instantly fall hopelessly in love with characters that go through so much pain, hurt, and trauma, and then these characters end up digging themselves deep into our hearts to the point where we can never let them go.

I loved that Thunder needed us readers to know more of his background, and how he became the incredible person that he is. His story is definitely not an easy one. The events leading up to his birth are very heavy, very painful and gut-wrenching to read. There were many many moments where I needed to stop, put the book down and let the tears slowly drop off my face. I just needed to take a moment to absorb what I just read and contemplate how it made me feel.

But it wasn’t all tragedy. There was a love in the story that transcended space and time, and even though it became twisted and turned into something ugly, it was still there shining brightly waiting until the right time to shine brighter.

The story was just brilliantly written. It was very complex with layer, upon layer of extraordinary and mystical moments that brought magic and light to the darkness. It may have been a heavy story, but it was still truly a beautiful one at the end.

I was definitely on the edge of my seat the whole way through, biting my nails with anxiety over what I was anticipating was going to happen when I turned the page, and hoping and praying that Thunder and Rya would get their everlasting life together.

Loved it!

A compelling book two to the Royal Bastard MC series! I thoroughly enjoyed getting in to the head of the one of the main protagonists and seeing how one of my favorite main characters came to be! Thunder took my heart in book one with all his trials, shaping him in to good man he is today. The love he and Rya share will be one for the ages, and certainly special.

There is nothing like a family chosen to help lead the way. Their backstory and how their beginning were set in motion, was heartwarming, to know the love and care that was placed in to their creation.

Rhea confounded and perplexed me with her shady choices, but yet you get an understanding of the depravity within her. How could she possible love Onus after all he has done? Very much a stick by your man no matter what crappy things he has done.

I love the loyalty Thunder has earned throughout his short life. Those around him gravitate to him in a way that speaks of genuine love and affection.

Please pay attention the the trigger warnings, as with book one.

No matter how many books I read by this author and no matter how much I psych myself up and assure myself I am fully prepared, this author always, ALWAYS manages to blow my mind, wreck my heart and leave me eagerly anticipating whatever comes next. As Thunder and Rya's story continues the drama, emotions, darkness, action, tension, suspense, heart, steam, and twists are completely captivating and one hundred percent consuming. I warn you, once you start you are not going to want to stop! Be smart, and plan accordingly.

I can’t stop thinking about this incredible story.

Past and present come together in this mind blowing story. The first part of the book is with Onus and Rosa. Which gives insight into how everything started. Then it follows on with Thunder and Rya in the present.

This story isn’t sunshine and roses, and definitely not for the faint hearted. It is an emotional roller coaster of a read. So prepare yourself for one wild mystical ride.

Well, this book wasn't what I was expecting.
It isn't your typical MC read and very tame compared to some of India's other books.

The origin of some of the characters also threw me a little as i felt it leaned more towards a Haunted Roads story than A Royal Bastards MC.

I actually liked Onus and Parker in the beginning. Then Rhea came along, and everything kind of went to s**t for all of them.
This story did answer some questions i had from Praying for Thunder, and it was both good and sad to learn why Onus turned out to be who he was. He truly loved Rhea even when he hated her.

Many a time, i wanted to slap Rhea myself. Considering who she was. For an MC main character, she was a p***y. I think i was more mad at myself, though, for being mad at her, as i began to understand why she was how she was.

I've no idea how I feel about Parker after the initial first few chapters he kind of ceased to be of any importance for me. I guess his part was played in book 1.

Everything that happens in the first half of the story is to bring us to understand who and what Thunder/Hellion is. His purpose for being and the fact that he is not the only one.
I also loved India's portrayal of Lu. I do hope he gets a book.
And the ending. I need Chubs book like yesterday.

Sounds like i didn't enjoy this, or it's not that good. But you would be wrong. I'm actually having some difficulty putting my feelings on this instalment into words without giving away spoilers. I actually loved the story and couldn't put it down. Believe me, I tried twice.

Adding in my personal feelings as this is my review, lol. Note this is not required and wouldn't take away from any enjoyment in reading this. I would highly recommend reading it along with Haunted Roads and Redemption Ryders to understand all the characters mentioned.

I was introduced to this author's writing by the amazing Nikki Landis.
She told me about India's books and I knew that I couldn't pass it without reading.
After reading just one book, I was left wanting more and couldn't start this new book fast enough.
India R Adams has dark writing, full of steamy stuff, and some shady stuff as well.
She's not about rainbows and unicorns, oh no, she will give you darkness, unknown and so much more.
Praying for Lightning is her latest release and tells the stories of Onus and Rosa as well as Thunder and Rya.
But I need to tell you something.
This book is a standalone, but if you truly want to understand it better, I advise you to read Praying for Thunder, because, by doing so, you'll understand this entire book better. Trust me.
This book is divided into two parts. The first part is for Onus and Rosa.
Onus knows pain well. His parents aren't good people, especially his dad. He's the Royal Bastards MC president and he's a loose cannon.
When Onus is saved by a fallen angel, Rosa, he is supposed to become a better man. A better president but things escalated and...
The second part is for Thunder and Rya.
These two are in love with each other, but their families are hellbent on keeping them apart and that is torture for both of them.
It's his legacy to become the president but...
Okay... I had wanted these answers since the moment I finished Praying for Thunder.
I was left with so much to know that it was torture to wait for this book.
What can I say without spoiling???
Not much actually, because I want to scream...
This book gutted me and almost drove me insane.
Things were happening and I was like WTF...
I was in love with Onus, I really was, and then...
And Thunder...Bless his soul. He's just so freaking hot and I want...
And finally, Rya was able to talk to us. I needed her POV.
There were parts of this book that I wanted to slap someone... Jesus, but then I wanted to go there, hug them, and promise better days.
It was hard to read some of the scenes, but they were super powerful.
We have so freaking hot stuff in there...dayum.
I'm in love with this series and I can't wait to see what's in store for us, because that cliffhanger will torture me until it arrives.
Amazing book India. You are brilliant, and I adore you, so give me the next book...
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Praying For Lightning is the 2nd book in the Royal Bastards: Wilmington, NC Chapter series by India R. Adams. I was looking forward to reading this book after reading Praying For Thunder and was unfortunately disappointed after reading it. This one is a Zeus and the Titans-inspired story, which I think made it even harder to understand a lot of it, among other things for me.
The book is told in 2 parts. The 1st part is of Thunder's mom Rosa and how she met and ended up with Onus and the hell she was put through until she died giving birth. It wasn't referenced who the characters were so it confused me and made it hard to understand. Then part 2 is basically a shorter re-telling of Praying For Thunder before the story finally continues where that book left off with Thunder and Rya finally being together. Once it got to the continuation part of the story, I started liking it more although we never actually got to read about Thunder starting his Royal Bastards chapter or anything like that. It just jumped ahead 1 year and said the chapter had started.
I had to give this one a 2-star rating and a 2-spicy rating much to my disappointment. Going through all the things that made me not like this book the one that sticks out the most is that I feel like I've read 2 versions of these characters and 2 versions of different events because of Thunder and Diablo being crossover characters. Diablo is from Nikki Landis' Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah Chapter. This also means that there are 2 versions of Lucifer. Both ladies have each written their own and the characters/events are the same but told in 2 different writing styles if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure that is what ruined it the most for me. I'm not done with the series yet though. I will be reading the next book to come out.

3.75stars--PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING is the second instalment in India R Adams’ adult RBMC: WILMINGTON NC dark, erotic, fantasy/paranormal duet focusing on RBMC: Wilmington MC president Thunder DiAni Semloh and Ryannon aka Rya Stannon. PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING should not be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading PRAYING FOR THUNDER for cohesion.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise there WILL be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told in two parts, and several first person perspectives (Rhea, Onus, Thunder, Rya) PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING is a story focusing on deities, fallen angels and demons, power and madness, abuse and killing, hatred and love. The reader is told, and is shown the harrowing lives of Rya and Thunder’s parents-deities and gods, abusers and human traffickers as well as the H/h violent conceptions, and a lack love in a world determined to strike them down. Part two picks up a few years after the end of PRAYING FOR THUNDER in which Thunder has claimed Rya as his ol’ lady, an ol’ lady that has been used and abused in her younger life. As Thunder must determine his direction in life, a path towards his destiny reveals the mother he never knew, and the father that destroyed it all.

PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING is a dark, complex, gritty and heart breaking story line of dysfunctional families, power and control, death and destruction, and the unconventional relationships and love between partners, demons, angels, gods and the underworld. PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING is a haunting, twisted and tragic story rich in details, some spirituality and the evils of humanity.

Praying for Lightning is book 2 of Royal Bastards MC: Wilmington, NC Chapter Series. This book was a short read and was divided into two parts. Part I of the book was Onus & Rosa's story. Onus was not my favorite from book 1, along with his brother Piercer. Getting to read his POV in this book as well as Piercer's personality gave me a different insight for both characters. I still think that they were horrible but I can see the transition of their characters. I wish there was a better ending for Onus & Rosa because they did have chemistry and they both had feelings for each other. Part I also helped me understand who & what is Thunder.

Part II of the book continued Thunder & Rya's story and picks up where book 1 finished. In this book, we find out more about Rya's past and what she went through in the hands of her father. It was horrible! We also see some of the characters from when Thunder was younger and lived in Nevada. We also get to meet characters that were mentioned in book 1 as well as the meeting of Rya and her sister. It was a bittersweet moment when Thunder met Rosa even just for a little bit (technically under five minutes).

I still love the ending and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series as well as the other books about the characters that were introduced in Book 1 and in this book. I do wish we got see more of Onus & Rosa's actual ending. All in all it was a great and quick read!

As always, I am left broken at one point in reading an India R Adams book but then put back together better than before. Her books are deep, haunting, heartbreaking but make you think deeper than you ever thought you would. I have not met one of her stories that just reaches into my soul like nothing I have ever read.

This one takes on Thunder's father, so we got more of the backstory of Onus and Rosa (Rhea). It was a love hate relationship I had with those two as it was not an easy life for them. This shows you that greed makes us ugly and no matter the damage we do to those around us. But for some reason Love was always there in one way or another. Also, the love of a mother to her child to do what is necessary for their survival plays a part in this. But sometimes this doesn't always work out how we hoped it would. India R Adams books are not for the faint of heart and you need to have an open mind because there are a lot of triggers that may not be everyone's cup of tea and that is ok.

Again, I am usually broken at one point while reading her stories, but the end is always usually a beautiful end to the characters journey. They all certainly have weathered the storms they were dealt with.

Praying for Lightning - Heart & Heat

India R Adams allows us to follow Thunder and Rya’s mystical journey of self discovery in the 2nd book in her Royal Bastards MC series, Praying for Lightning.

‘Sitting in the dark bedroom, I watched her at the end of our bed. “Why bother, babe?”
On her knees, her palms touching, she explained, “Praying for lightning is very important.”
I rolled my eyes. “See? That’s how much you don’t understand. Lightning means imbalance in nature.”
Golden eyes opened and possessed me. “Don’t ya think I need to pray this world finds balance?”
I shut my mouth. The strength in Rya was building daily. I found it… inspiring.’

This story continues to entwine an interpretation of mythological gods, both good and evil, and angels, that connect our characters’ hearts and souls.

India has given us a beautifully descriptive adventure, that will reach inside you and pull so darn hard, searching for you to connect to both the love ties, but also the harsher side of life.

Once again, a dynamic group of humans (ok, maybe gods) are brought to life through India’s attention to all thing found in our life forces.

Praying For Lightning had me alternating between angry at what happened to all the characters and in a rush to see what happened next!!

Onus and Rhea's story was amazing until Onus did exactly what Rhea said he was going to do and became this dark force throughout life, I was so disappointed because I had seen so much good in him, but maybe there truly are some that are preparing for those that are coming next that are better than them (?).

The parts I was confused by was the jumping back and forth when I got to Rya and Lightning 's story, I thought it was going to move directly ahead with the rest of the story, not jump backward to answer the rest of Diesel and Onus' questions that I had.

I love the bonds India builds with the newly built MC and Rya, how protective of them she is and vice versa. I also enjoyed seeing Chubs and Roamer, and having a very final answer for Diesel in the epilogue that will build toward the next story. India R. Adams ability to fashion a story through gods and minor deities, mc bikers, and hangers on leaves me wanting more every single time.

Mind. Freaking. BLOWN!
Sometimes to understand the present and prepare for the future you first have to look back on the past.

My love for the universe India R. Adams has created is beyond words! And the PNR edge to this series has me elated! The familiar faces, the tragic and heartbreaking storylines, the joy and humor amongst the chaos, and the intriguing new faces in the fight between good and evil all combined to make Praying for Lightning one of my top reads of 2023.

With anything India Adams writes, you should always expect the unexpected. There's nothing cookie-cutter about Praying for Lightning! I certainly didn't expect the beautifully tragic storyline that drew me in and consumed me until the very last page. Battles were fought, won, and lost, hearts were broken and mended, and families were shattered and born. And in the midst of all that, magic was created in the words of this book. I swear my heart needs a vacation because the feelings were so potent I couldn't hold back the tears at times.

Many of the characters I loved, some characters frustrated me, and some got just what they deserved. Elijah and Lu fascinated me, and I need MORE! However, I admit to being perplexed at times by Rhea's devotion to Onus, but it was their story, as heartbreaking as it may be. Rya and Thunder I cannot get enough of!

The fates of so many characters in this story were intertwined so purposefully, tragically, yet beautifully. It left me speechless, and I'm still pondering the possibilities! The story answered some questions but also inspired new ones that I'm eager to find answers to!

And when I tell you I am EXCITED for future storylines and the potential storylines that could come from just this book alone, I am not exaggerating. I want them all and I want them now :) LOL

I know my review is vague, but I didn't want to spoil the story for anyone. It's not a story that can be summed up in a few words anyway. You need the experience!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This story is done in two parts. The first part is told by Onus Rosa and the second one is Thunder/Rya. This is where this book will surprise you. It is not your typical MC romance. This one has a paranormal element to it. This is where you get to find out how Thunder came into existence and I do not want to tell you a thing about it so that you can experience it all on your own. In the second part we go back to Rya who is so lost. Really confused and I have to say that my heart really broke in the second part of this book. There are things revealed and you will love getting things from Rya point of view. This is a really good book and that's coming from a girl who isn't the biggest paranormal fan. But I really loved this book.

This is the second book in this incredible series, and Thunder and Rya’s journey continues. Thunder is the youngest president of the Royal Bastards and he is trying to right the wrongs of his father. The mystical aspect of this story and the chaos, intrigue, and the fight between good and evil, have a tale which had me enthralled throughout.
This is a well written story which is an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, romance, secrets, healing, humor, witty banter, heartbreak, vengeance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, haunting, tragic, twisted story, which is not for the faint-at-heart. Expect the unexpected from this author, who has done a phenomenal job in weaving this storyline.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Wow, another amazing read that blends the world of good, evil, and in-between. 5+ Stars!!!

This book was such an emotional rollercoaster of a read. You have the MC aspect and then a little paranormal mixed in with fallen angels, devils, and saints vibes. This book is complex and heavily layered in mythology surrounding Thunder and Rya which is told in two parts. There are trigger warnings so please heed them. Boy this story was full of gut wrenching heartache. I loved Rosa she was such a wonderful character, full of hope and life but unfortunately had a life of pain and heartbreak but she never let it bring her down. Onus was on a path of change but life had other things in mind for him. I absolutely love Thunder and Rya. They made a pact that they would be together for eternity. They may have had a life of turmoil and heartbreak but their love for one another saw them through. Oh I also fell in love with Weatherman and my love for Diesel only grew. Such fantastic characters. This author can make you feel so many different emotions. I absolutely love her writing. I highly recommend this book but most definitely start with Praying for Thunder.

Oh my heart. To see the beginning of Onus and how he was before he met Thunder’s mother and watch his transformation…..oh it was definitely pulling my heartstrings! Learning his family secrets as well was a shocker to me too!

I loved all of the main characters as well as the side characters. I loved that through everything Thunder and Rya had been through, they could still have the banter and humor with each other and those around them. I loved the paranormal aspect of this story and how Thunder was receiving answers to his questions.

I am so excited to read more of this story and see Thunder’s MC family find their soulmates!

These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.

What begins in the past comes full circle as the author weaves a mesmerizing tale of beauty through pain. The characters bleed into your skin as the pages turn and all you can do is forge ahead. Your heart will palpitate, and your emotions will leave you in such a state that will cause you to lose your words. Ms. Adams has an extraordinary way of crafting her worlds with such vivid imagery and turn of phrase that one cannot help but submerge him/herself in the storyline. The journey that Thunder and Rya must undertake is not for the faint of heart as it is filled with twists and turns, surprises, and danger. It does end in a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to see the continuation of this journey. A caution to those with triggers to proceed with care.

In the beginning I was a little bit confused cause it's been wayyyy 2 long since I got 2 read the 1st book about Thunder. Then I realized what was going on and started 2 understand it better. There was a few spots in the book I didn't quite understand and I don't understand why Rhy was talking strange like A little kid would instead of a grown up would... I didn't understand a few spots in the middle I guess but overall it was pretty good. I was impressed with how Rhy was in the time she needed 2 b strong 4 Thunder, etc. They found each other as kids but their love is very special that nobody could brake from it being really powerful in a few ways... Read and find out what happens.
