Keir became the leader of the opposition army when he was barely eighteen years old. He led the fight against the usurper king from land while Prince Edan and Regent Egan led from the sea. Keir also had hundreds of men at his command and one invisible dragon, nicknamed Sprite, who likes to help out from time to time.
Sprite is friendly and fun-loving, happy to play tricks on Keir’s sister and keep Keir company. When a letter arrives from the Oracle asking for Keir's presence, he expects Sprite to calmly travel with him. Instead, the strong gale that erupts sends Keir flying overboard and into an adventure he and Sprite might not walk away from alive.
When Mell Eight was in high school, she discovered dragons. Beautiful, wondrous creatures that took her on epic adventures both to faraway lands and on journeys of the heart. Mell wanted to create dragons of her own, so she put pen to paper. Mell Eight is now known for her own soaring dragons, as well as for other wonderful characters dancing across the pages of her books. While she mostly writes paranormal or fantasy stories, she has been seen exploring the real world once or twice.

I really liked this book. The characters were well drawn, and interesting, and I liked how Keir always knew that there was something special about Sprite. I liked seeing Sprite grow, and just how much Keir gives him strength. The plot was well done, and I appreciate that Sprite's home is far from perfect, and that the series has been tackling the problems there more and more. The ending was well done, and I'm really looking forward to the next book. I can't wait for Lichen to have his own story.
Good addition - the monastery has problems with their members and while the Oracle had to divert resources to fix the greater problem, now eyes are turning inward as the problems of the last two books show that the caste members are now some of the problems I liked both Mc's and they worked well together.
Good

I’m still not sure exactly how to rate this one, while it was good I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous book and I can’t pin point why. I did like it, I loved Keir and Sprite. They worked so well together. I felt for sprite and the way he was treated at the monastery. The castes seem to have big problems with members at the moment and they need the dragons to stand up, but it truely amazes me the lack of respect that was shown to Sprite. Regardless of the castes feelings he is the highest ranking in the caste.
The Oracle’s Sprite is the fourth novelle in the Oracle series and is about Sprite, an air dragon. Sprite disappeared from the Monastery years earlier when the people there treated him horribly. He is injured, found by Keir and disappears. Keir was the opposition general in the fight to help King Edan take back his thrown. Keir thinks he has a ghost, but Sprite loved playing tricks on Keir’s sister. When Keir is called to the Monastery, Sprite doesn’t want to go back. But they go back and there’s danger afoot and Sprite must step up and become the air dragon that the people needs. Loved, loved, loved Sprite!! He was so much fun to read. Well written with fast pacing. 5+ stars
I love reading LGBTQ+ fiction. I also love reading fantasy books. When the two genres are combined, it's a must read for me. I saw the Oracle series, and fell in love with the covers. After seeing them, I knew I had to read the series. Unfortunately, after reading all four books in the series, it was just okay. There were parts that I liked, but the parts that I disliked outweighed that.
I have different feelings about each of the books. In the first book in the series, The Oracle's Flame, the twincest made me very uncomfortable. I did love the way that both of the guys fell in love with who they did, but the twincest just creeped me out. However, I did think that the next book in the series, The Oracle's Hatchling was enjoyable. I had problems with a few things in the book, but I thought it brought something new and different to the story of the dragon's world that Mell Eight had created. The third book in the series, The Oracle's Golem was really good as well. I liked how the two main characters took the time to build their relationship, instead of just instantly falling in love. I did expect a different ending to The Oracle's Golem, and was really disappointed when it didn't happen. The last book in the series, The Oracle's Sprite, was just weird. I wasn't sure what to think of it at first. when the big plot twist was revealed, I understood it better, but I still thought it was odd. It was definitely my least favorite book in the series.
Even though I have a lot of mixed feelings on The Oracle series, I did find it enjoyable. The ending of The Oracle's Sprite said that there would be a fifth book, but as far as I know, it was never released. If a fifth book does get released, I will probably read it because I've invested a lot in reading the series up until this point.

***3 STARS***
Ok, so this book should have been named "Keir's Sprite" instead of the current title, but I guess since it's part of the Oracle series, the word Oracle has to be on every title.
The series continues with Keir, a warrior helping to protect the twin rulers and their kingdom. When he was 18, 10 years ago, he ran into a mysterious thief who had been shot and vanished with the wind. Ever since then, the "ghost" of the thief has haunted him. In reality the ghost is actually the Dragon of Air, who has run away from home cause of how poorly he was treated.
This was another cute addition to the series, though I wished it could have had more scenes of Keir and Sprite's life before they jumped to 10 years later. I wanted to read their adventures together when Sprite first started "haunting" Keir. 10 years a long time to be invisible. The book gives glimpses of it, but not enough for me. It says the Keir fell for the ghost he named "Sprite", but I wanted to read how. That's what brought it to 3 stars. I liked the book, but I wanted more.
However, I will continue to read the series because I like the characters even if I don't think they get enough storytime. The world Mell Eight created for the characters is also interesting. I look forward to read more.
I thought this book was sweet and I really liked the world this author created. With this book you get Keir who is a traveling to see the Oracle on a boat. Well he has a spirit that follows him names Sprite. Something ends up happening to the ship which puts Keir in danger. I thought these two together was sweet but to be honest there was really no steam in this book at all. Also this book was very much a slow build up to me. You meet a few characters in this book too from I believe the first books in this series. You can also read this as a stand alone I did not feel lost at all and I have not read the previous books. So I do not want to get much more into this book because it was a short book.
So all together I really liked this book and these characters! I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.
After a rocky start with book one this series has really grown on me.
I loved Sprite and Keir. I think I actually liked this more because Keir was half in love with Sprite before knowing the full story.
I maybe questioned the way Sprite struggled with the Master Whirlwind, I felt he should of been able to deal with her with ease, but then I guess there would of been less story. I am gonna believe it was because Sprite ran away so early and so was not trained properly like it was kinda explained. Again these could be that much better if only they were longer and we got just that bit more detail.
But as shorts these are both sweet and entertaining. I am looking forward to the next book, I loved Lichen
This is a solid series. I really liked the hatching one. I only gave it 4 stars for two reasons. The first is the price. It is almost for pages for about 200 pages. The second reason is that I wish it was longer.

Summary: Keir lost his parents at a young age forcing him to take on the adult responsibility of the leader of the guard while protecting his little sister. He was well trained and driven to protect and serve. Even with all the duties he was happy to have a seeming ghost that followed him around. Keir called him Sprite and his hidden desire was that they could one day be together.
Things came to a head when Keir was summoned to see The Oracle placing Keir in danger. Sprite had to make a decision to protect the one he cared or to continue to hide from what he has been running form for years.
I don’t know how I missed this series, but that will be remedy as soon as possible. I loved experiencing the interactions between Keir and Sprite when Keir was the only one who believed that Spite really existed.
Keir has acquired a ghost he’s named Sprite, and Keir loves the ghost completely. Their years together as warrior and air have made them happy.
Very sweet story of love found and nurtured even though both men have really never communicated. I really liked that Sprite’s personality shone through even without words. I felt that their shared history made them stronger and closer than they would of been otherwise.
I love this author and even though the books are short I feel the reader gets a complete story in every one. No heat, just implied closeness. I liked this one a lot.

The shift from most of the action being in Altnoia that I enjoyed about the third Oracle book by Mell Eight was continued in the fourth book, The Oracle’s Sprite. The story takes place all over the place, including a nice resolution in the Monastery. Of course the main characters, Sprite the dragon and Keir the military captain, are both easy to like. It took me a while to adjust to the flashbacks of Keir’s military exploits, but they added to the story. I especially appreciate that all the bad guys, whether they be pirates imprisoning Keir or other air dragons, get their just desserts. As is always true for the author, there is a HEA. I received a copy of The Oracle’s Sprite by Mell Eight from Indigo Marketing and Design and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
To be honest, I’m not really sure why I started reading this series. Another reviewer had requested the books but then left the blog and for some completely inexplicable reason, I agreed to take over the first two stories. I never read fantasy, I don’t like fantasy but I’ve completely fallen in love with this series, and here’s me now, getting all excited over the release of book number four.
This story takes us back to the kingdom of Altnoia where young Keir has just discovered the murder of his parents. The timeline here makes several jumps forward and my only criticism of this book is that I was a bit lost trying to follow the jumps. One moment Keir was eighteen and the next, he was ten years older and his baby sister was a teenager. Add to that the flashbacks, which are admittedly in italics, and it took me a while to get my bearings.
We get to see the moment Keir and Sprite first meet, when Sprite appears to die practically in Keir’s arms, but when the story truly picks up our two main characters have already been friends for ten years. And it’s certainly an interesting friendship, because when Sprite died he turned into a ghost, and he has been hanging out with Keir ever since. Actually, both of them have feelings beyond friendship for each other, but neither of them can see how that could ever work out.
I loved that this book finally gave us some of the story we missed out on between books one and two. At the end of book one the MCs from that story are headed to Altnoia to battle the evil king and win back their kingdom, but book two finds that battle long won, and the true kings back on the throne. I’m not normally a fan of flashbacks, but the only part of this series that has ever disappointed me, was not knowing how that war played out. I felt as though a big part of the story was missing but we’re shown some of what happened in this book, through the eyes of Keir who became leader of the army.
Once again with this series I’m struck by how well this author can set a scene. Like I said, I’m not one for fantasy but even I can appreciate the skill with which every new location is presented to us, the reader. The Monastery is still my favourite place to be in this series, and I was glad that we went back there in the end and got to see some of the Oracle and the Dragon of Earth.
I wouldn’t recommend reading these books as standalones. I think that this book more than any of the others referenced characters and spoke of events that happened in previous stories. To appreciate the world that Mell Eight has created you need to start at the beginning.
The Dragon of Water is the only dragon remaining who still needs his story told, although, the author already sneakily added one extra dragon. I was excited to see that Lichen, only a young child in the third book, becomes one of the main characters in what could possibly be the final book of the series. Now I just have to patiently wait…
I’ve been a fan of this series since I found it by chance, and each book just keeps getting better and better for me! I completely loved Sprite in this book! Seriously, Sprite made the book so enjoyable for me personally.
I really enjoyed how even though this is a shorter book, Eight is able to pack a bunch of information into the story but it doesn’t feel like it is overwhelming to me. All the information that was added was important to the story. I do also enjoy that even though this is the fourth book in the series, I don’t feel like you have to read the rest of the series. But there is enough information given that will entice you to read the other books.
I did love being able to follow along with the relationship between Sprite and Keir form and develop into something real. Their relationship was one that formed slowly and ended up being something powerful and wonderful.
Overall, I can’t get enough of this series and if your looking for a paranormal story that will draw you in, then I would recommend this one.

This might be my favorite so far. I think in some ways because it's easier to believe in Sprite and Keir's relationship given how many years Sprite's been following him around as a "ghost." Despite having never truly shown himself, it's clear from the start that there's a relationship between them and Keir knows his ghost is more than the breeze that blows around him.
I liked these two together and I appreciated the fight Sprite had to go through both against one of the members of his own caste gone power mad, and also with his own demons about returning to the Monastery at all. He'd do anything for Keir though and that relationship sustains him. I was cheering for these two from the jump. Keir has such faith in the dragon he cannot see. He knows who Sprite is to him and trusts that he'll be there when he's needed.
I really enjoy this world. They're such a quick bite set of stories, but I'm enjoying where the story goes as the Oracle is still trying to prevent the rot from spreading. Cleaning out her own house is just as important as certain courts across the sea.
From that review: "While Keir and Sprite are in a sexual relationship (parts that have a funny aspect to it), there is little to no sex n the story, to the point that you could label this a YA story. Its high adventure, young love, dragons, pirates and a fight for a kingdom. Come on, who doesn't love that? For me, that never gets old..."
Another dragon gets revealed in this book, as does their connection to Altnoia. That nation was in immense turmoil and it attracted plenty of help from the Monastery, sometimes in ways that weren't directly done by the Oracle. Sprite, the dragon of air, found himself helping Keir, the leader of the rebel forces helping to take back Altnoia. Even after things were settled he never left, always present as a trickster wind that helped out Keir, and the two have fallen in love. But it is hard to truly love a breeze that you can never touch or see.
A call from the Oracle sets events in motion. It is clear that Sprite wants to stay with Keir, but the reason he has never revealed himself is finally shown. It also brings up the issue of the Monastery. Golem was making strides in changing things in the last book. It soon becomes clear that the Air caste also has major issues which drove Sprite away, but his return may be exactly what the Monastery needs.
At just eighteen years of age, Keir became the leader of the army fighting against the usurper king while Princes Edan and Egan led the navy. At his side, willing to help from time to time, was Sprite.
A friendly ghost, Sprite likes to keep Keir company and occasionally play tricks on Keir's sister. When the Oracle demands Keir's presence, he expects Sprite to travel with him.
He doesn't expect the gale that knocks him overboard and into an adventure that might just kill him.
Summary:
Keir's life was filled with struggling to survive against a king who would go to any lengths to maintain his strangle hold on their kingdom. In the midst of the fight, Keir found a mortally wounded young man and in spite of his brief attempt to save him he died. Soon after, Keir noticed he was being haunted by a ghost who came to his aid when he needed help. Keir named him Sprite as their friendship blossomed for Keir, but how can you have a relationship with a ghost? Their was more to Sprite than everyone imagined, but it wasn't until Keir was kidnapped that Sprite took matters into his own hands. The only issue I had was the reflection into the past until it began to show the relevance to the story line. This was a delightful and whimsical story that I very much enjoyed. I look forward to The next book in the series The Oracle's Current.
Keir’s been the leader of an army since he turned into a man and since then, he’s had a friendly little ‘sprite’ to keep him company along the way. When the Oracle requests Keir’s presence, he doesn’t quite know the reason for it but on his way there, one thing after another gets in the way of making it to the Oracle. Thankfully, his little sprite is there to save him and he finds out just who Sprite really is.
This was suuuuuuuuch a cute little story! Possibly my favorite so far (although The Oracle’s Golem may still be it!) because I just loved the premise that Keir fell in love with a ‘ghost’ and Sprite fell in love with someone he thought he could never have. It was adorable seeing the way they both relied on each other and I really loved seeing their journey to visit the Oracle… because it was definitely suspenseful!
I enjoyed this one but my issue is the same as it’s been for all the books in this series – I WISH IT WERE LONGER! I just wanted more, more, more of Keir and Sprite. I want to know where things go from here for them!
All in all, this was still a great addition to The Oracle series. I just adored the characters and getting to know them. I wish it had been longer but I still enjoyed it, especially since we got to see some of the characters from previous books (I❤ Golem!). If you’ve enjoyed The Oracle series so far, definitely give this one a go:)
