Finding True Identity in Christ

Rose Ann Forte has been given a unique way of helping people find there true identity in Christ by helping us see that addiction only places a temporary mask over ourselves to hide who we truly are. We are created by God for God. God wants our hurts, pain, sorrows, anxiety and depression at the forefront of who we are so that he can heal and tear down each stronghold of the enemy one by one, including the mask of addiction in which we hide all of these emotions. The statements of gratitude at the end of each daily devotion really helped me see and realize that there is so much to be grateful for that you wonder how this habit became stronger than life which is to be the most appreciated and enjoyed.
I’m grateful for the help Rose Ann provided through her book and her own testimony in helping me in my own journey of letting go of alcohol and seeing that I am a new creation in Christ and I have been delivered from the bondage that held me captive.

Putting alcohol in the rear view mirror

I knew I was putting a gun in my mouth every day. Not literally, of course, but I had journeyed past social drinking to alcohol controlling me. 12 weeks later, I feel like I have my life back. Prayers that I continue this journey of wellbeing.

The book is not focused enough on the issue in the title. It seems very general in it's help. I am not a drinker but it was given to a friend on their birthday. Not a gift? Right?

This was a standard devotional for me. Not a ton of depth, but it was a useful tool for daily mindfulness on the negative effects of alcohol on my daily life.
