Well this was surprising.
Started oh so sweet, then took a deep dive in awesome mmf-pleasures, and ended sweet.
A human woman and 2 orcs falling in love, basically (in some combination between the 3 they had already been in love).
It took me a bit to get used to the orcs' way to talk, and not everything they did in bed was what I had expected, but I wasn't uncomfortable, rather enjoyed it *blushes*.
Short but lovely (I know it sounds strange, but it was!).
I'm sure I'll reread this when I'm in a "particular" christmas mood.

Yuled by the Orcs was a fun, quick, sweet, steamy holiday read. Finley never disappoints. The re-release was perfection.
It's great to be back in this world with some new and familiar characters. She gives us older characters, which I absolutely loved, and plenty of spice and laughs.
I can't wait to read more from Finley.

He was wearing a ribbon. Only a ribbon. On his bare… cock.
This story follows Sigtryggr, Tryg for short, and Lydia. As bonus it also follows Ezog an extremely scarred Orc who’s yearned for a woman of his own but because of his scars and shy nature has had no luck.
I guess this is the year for throuples. This is the second book I read in 2023 and it also has a throuple in it. I struggle with novelas. Sometimes they feel rushed. This one felt a little rushed. But overall it was a short sweet story with lots of sharing. You get more of the same from Orc mountain and I really enjoyed the Yule celebrations. The orcs have different customs but just as cute. The biggest differences being a scavenger hunt and a hand to hand combat challenge. It was so cute to see the little orclings decorating cookies and then eating their weight in cookies.
This was a sweet story of finding love and being accepted for who you are. Lydia was shunned by her people once her husband died when she was 30. She is now 40 and no one visits other than to pay her to wash clothes. Her job. But she’s lonely and forgotten and feels old and unloved. Ezog has likewise experienced rejection due to his looks. Thanks to Tryg they come together and become more. I absolutely loved that Tryg was also older and had a grown son. it was such a sweet story with lots of smut. So be warned, it’s short but extremely spicy.

A filthy but also incredibly sweet yule time festive story of novella length that manages to bring both the heat and the heart in equal measures. If you're a fan of this series here we have a Christmas-themed treat that's sure to hit the sweet spot.
It's a ménage of novella length with an M/M/F set-up. sigtryggr of Clan Skai is after a mate to complete his home. This is where Lydia comes in when Tryg decides she may be just the woman to accept his sweet Elskan.
Ezog of Clan Bautul longs for a female alongside his bond with Tryg but due to his ruined visage and many scars this task seems a pipe dream until that is his lover and lifemate finds the perfect mate in Lydia a washerwoman and widow who is living a lonely existence since her husband's passing. This Yule tide all of their dreams are about to be answered.
I especially adored that these characters were all older I found that refreshing and relatable and despite the explicitness of this which if you've read this series you'll realise this is an ongoing theme this short story also had so much heart. Totally loved this one. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Yuled by the Orcs.

so precious!
NGL, Tryg bothered me at times. He was def an interesting mix of selfish and tender. But a complex MC with foibles and failures is what makes a book good. Lydia and Erzog were super cute and they all made a great throuple. I cried a few times, which is always a good sign, because the experience was immersive. Highly recommend for a holiday read!

I did not know what was coming next (heh heh) for the first half of this little holiday novella AT ALL! 😂 It started very sweet and wholesome, i literally was kicking my feet and giggling, then it turned a little confusing and head tilt-y, advanced to INSANELY spicy, then to just complete unabashed filth and then back to wholesome cozy sweetness. I liked it a lot!

A beautifully sweet, quick & steamy holiday novella.
Now, I'm closer to being the Grinch than Christmas obsessed, but as this was written by Finley & part of the Orc Sworn series - I just HAD to read it. The story focuses much more heavily on the relationships than on the holiday itself, but still gives a gorgeous glimpse into Orc Mountain at Yuletide.
Despite being only 10 chapters long, this is a well rounded story that manages to have both substance and spice. The MC's are all older, which can be rare in the fantasy & romance genres, but was really refreshing to see (as a reader in my mid-30's). The story also touched on people being more than their appearance in a very sweet, endearing and not at all preachy way.
Expect all the usual Skai scheming & heat in the bedroom as you've come to expect from Orc Sworn, but also a very sweet story and cameos from lots of familiar faces at Orc Mountain. Well worth the read if you love this series!

This is a short, sexy and surprisingly sweet mmf romance between Tryg (a silver fox orc from the skai clan), Lydia (a 40 something widow and laundress who is sweet, hard working, and quietly lonely), and Ezog (a sweet cinnamon roll with a huge cock and an insatiable sex drive).
Look, this was really fun, and for once in this series, the fmc (who is very likable) got to have her happy ending with very little drama and without first having to go through 400 pages of lies, deceit, mistrust and miscommunication from these (hot and protective but also very traumatized) orcs.

Yuled by the Orcs was a lovely surprise! This novella was so full of love and it deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
Lydia is a widowed laundress in the town outside Orc Mountain. Tryg starts coming by with his laundry and their relationship starts out professional. Lydia has never been with an orc so this is all new territory for her as they eventually develop a relationship.
He invites her to spend Yule with him at a cabin. Upon her arrival she realizes Tryg did not come alone. He brought Ezog, his longtime partner, from the mountain. Lydia and Ezog did not know that Tryg was seeing them both, and while they’re a little upset, they realize he did it for a good reason. Tryg has always wanted to bring a female into his relationship, but most women got too jealous or were terrified of Ezog. He’s a brute of an orc who is scarred from his hard life. Lydia agrees to give the idea of a throuple a try, and soon realizes she would be Ezog’s first woman.
Their time spent at the cabin is passionate and full of love. At the end, Tryg’s adult son and partner come to visit for a feast. At that dinner, Lydia sees first hand how Ezog is a second father to Tryg’s son and how acceptive everyone is of their relationship.
By the end of the holiday, Lydia doesn’t see Ezog as a brute or someone to fear, she sees him as a sweetheart and a gentle giant. She sees him how Tryg does. She agrees to come back to Orc Mountain with them where they can live out the rest of their days in love.
This story made me cry so much. There’s so much love, compassion, and acceptance in this short story. Honestly it’s so beautifully written. It really drives home the true meaning of Yule and how it’s supposed to be spent with those you love. Of course, the spice is also excellent.

A very spicy Christmas (or Yule as the Orcs celebrate) novella; with a lot of group action, that includes MMF, MM, and FM pairings. It helps to understand some of the terms and how these Orcs act if you've read some of Fenn's Orc books before. I recently read one of her Orc novels (so happens that it was the full novel before this one, which gives you backstory for this novella, so I highly suggest reading that one first - "Tryggrd by the Orc") and was definitely more comfortable understanding some things than I was when I read that book.
The reason that I only gave this one 3/5 stars is because I don't love the way that Tryg (MMC) goes about "procuring" Lydia for his partner. There is a HEA at the end of this one, but there was a lot of going behind his partner's back (Ezog) and he truly hurt his feelings. Even their son was thinking he was acting shady as hell getting with a woman behind Ezog's back. And I get that Tryg's logic is that he didn't want to get Ezog's hopes up if things didn't work out with Lydia, but being more upfront about things would have saved some face, I feel. And it wouldn't have been such a damn shock for Lydia when a strange Orc showed up on Yule-eve with a red bow tied around his dick claiming to be a gift for her. I mean ... she enjoyed the hell out of it. But manipulating her into trying to figure out if she would be okay with "sharing" wasn't the way to go about things.
This was a quick and fluffy read, with minor drama that was honestly resolved fairly quickly. I would absolutely recommend this one and most of the Orc drama written by Fenn if you're into that kind of thing.

This is one of my favorite stories in Finley’s Orc Sworn/Forged universe 🥹 it’s MMF and focuses on older characters, which we don’t see nearly enough in romance, especially monster romance. I’d say the themes of this novella are acceptance and love, and there’s so much coziness and spice and holiday fun inside. I adore all the characters, but I truly cannot even begin to explain how much I love Ezog 🥹

This was cozy, smutty and just amazing. I loved the dynamic here: Two shy cinnamon-rolls and their trickster. This was lighter and less angsty than my previous read by Fenn and I really loved that. Paired with the excellent smut, it was a quick and excellent read. I really loved Lydia, Tryg and Ezog their whole dynamic. I also liked how this story focused on older characters who have loved and lost over the years.

I love variety in my romances, so I applaud Fenn for writing about older characters. Love and passion are timeless emotions, and it’s refreshing to experience them with middle-aged characters.
Inner beauty is a strong theme in this story. Tryg gifts Ezog to Lydia, and the orc is not the sort of lover one is immediately drawn to. He’s heavily scarred, has a broken fang, and crooked teeth. But it’s not what’s on the surface that matters, underneath is a beautiful and kind soul with so much love to give. This is such a gorgeous message.
When you read one of Fenn’s orc books, you know you’re getting A+ spice. There are many heated scenes interspersed with holiday cheer. Tryg is the softest Dom ever, guiding his partners and ensuring everyone is comfortable.

Finley Fenn sets a new bar for series bonus stories with Yuled by The Orcs. This story is a treat for readers of the Orc Sworn series, both revisiting beloved characters and delivering a meaty plot that would merit a place in anyone’s Kindle shopping cart. Yet, it gets to be on anyone’s device who subscribes to Fenn’s newsletter starting on December 13, 2022.
This is also the first time in the series that we have a book focused on older love interests. Anyone older than their 30s is not common yet in Romancelandia, let alone the monster romance subgenre. So this was a welcome exploration for this reader who knows she’s hopes she gets to experience the privilege of being old. I don’t want that to mean my sexuality dies with my youth! Bring on more of those sexy grandmas!

Yuletide fun & frolics

What a tasty little morsel! Yuled is a short, entertaining read centered entirely upon a few nights of Yuletide bliss between long-time orc partners Sygtryggr & Ezog (whom we met briefly at the end of Tryggred by the Orc) and the woman Tryg hopes can complete their unconventional family. Lydia, a lonely widow, is only too eager to lean into their warm, protective, and hungry embrace.
It’s a short read, under 2 hours for me, so not a ton of time for character development. Maybe one more chapter giving a bit more background on Tryg & Ezog? I’d have loved more! This tale is mostly spice… I’m not complaining about that in the slightest ‘cause it was delicious! And the epilogue chapter left me feeling as warm as if I were lounging in front of my own Yule log.

First of all, I love this book; but it fell to a 3.5 for me, rating wise. (I bumped it to 4, rather than 3, because there's more that I like about this book than not. )
One of my biggest gripes is the FMC, and the fact that she seems... incredibly slow and dense? With how many of her inner dialog paragraphs simply started with 'Oh.', I was beginning to become hyper- aware of them, and it was ruining the story for me.
However, all in all, it was nice to see an older couple, and the world and characters are lovingly fleshed out. It's better than a LOT of paranormal romances I have read.

actually a little torn on this one (despite it being 4 stars)- I ADORE this series/the author’s writing, and this was ✨hot✨ as usual. AND YET something about it made me really sad! I feel like girlie got DUPED… hmmm…

Finley is the queen of orcs. I have to resist the urge to binge the entire series because I don’t want to be caught up but damn! Her angst is just ON POINT. Even in this 100ish page novella I was feeling the angst. She’s amazing and I love her and this novella.

I've been in a romance reading slump to end all romance reading slumps. I didn't read The Governess and the Orc (book 7 in the Orc Sworn series) when it came out in early November, but when I saw this holiday MMF novella it seemed… less intimidating, maybe, than a full length book? And I was able to jump in - read - and love it.
The heroine of this book is a little older - in her 40s, I think. She's been a widow for over a decade and lately has a new visitor to her laundry business: Trygg, the father of a side character from The Maid and the Orcs. He's a silver fox (there's art of him on the author's Instagram/Discord as an orc Santa, definitely check it out) and after fooling around for a bit he invites her to spend Yule with him.
But, surprise, he also brings his boo! Who happens to be my favorite side orc, Ezog. He only got a one liner in either Rosa or Ella's book but I've loved him since I saw a fanart drawing of him (on Finley Fenn's Discord). Scarred sweet boy! (Well, man… I think he's older as well.)
This was high heat, fast burn, pretty low angst. It centered around holiday fun, down to a red ribbon on a green… you know. Super fun if you're looking for a monster holiday novella!!

Somewhat entertaining, although a little repetitive and I hate to say it but... too much smut. It just never stopped really and I get this is just a silly smutty short story but it got to the point where I was skimming the last chapter or two because it was just the same. I used to really love Finley's books but this one wasn't that great.

This novella is perfect for the holidays if you're looking for something a little monstery, a little historical, and a whole lot of naughty! The kind of naughty you can only get from a Finley Fenn orc romance. MMF poly romance goodness with all the sticky messy heat!
This is a novella but it was perfectly paced with all of the drama and emotion and sensually charged orc vibes I've come to expect from Finley. And this one has MCs in their 40s/50s! All three of them were perfect and I loved them so much. I adore how Lydia was so unsure about everything in a sort of shy way, yet she yearned so much for what she wanted and she tried so hard to be obliging and open and it led her to the best happiness ever! She reminded me of myself in so many ways with her unsurety of things. She's a very quiet and somewhat reserved person and I related alot to that.
Tryg was so perfect as the "head" of the relationship. He was very coarse in ways and yet soft and caring and had a little bit of that "Devil May Care" attitude that I loved. And Ezog was this huge scarred beast of an orc but he was so sweet and extra needy, and just the right amount of rough. I loved the dynamic between these three so much and I loved how their story played out.
This was such an easy and fun spicy read (but in Finley's style so... lots of fluids and steamy steamy spice) and I enjoyed it so much! It was really amazing to step back into this world with a new story. These may be "copiously" shocking (to new readers) at times with the level of content they contain but it all melds so perfectly together that it just works. Paired with the drama and emotion and the angst and turmoil, these stories suck you in. I absolutely love them and I loved this one just as much as the rest! Thank you so so much for sending me an early copy Finley! It's always such a gift to be able to read these books early. The sooner I can dive in, the sooner I can be happy and immersed back into my Finley-Orc-Verse.

This is such a cute and spicy holiday read with age representation!! 😍🏔️
I love seeing older people portrayed in books, especially fantasy!!
Since this book is a novella, I can understand why everything seemed to move so quickly, but if I’m being totally honest, I wish this was a full-length book!! Lydia, Tryg, and Ezog are just so cute together and I love their dynamic, so I wish things would have been more flushed out, and the pacing a bit slower.
This book had SOOOOOO much spice in it!! For such a short read I was surprised with the amount of… for lack of a better term… intimate activity! I did feel those butterflies in my tummy several times while reading this book 😳🌶️
I feel like this book shouldn’t be read first in the series since I think it does require some previous context of Orc Mountain to make the most sense. With that said though, if you just want a holiday read and are not new to fantasy books, I think you could put two and two together and be just fine reading this book!
With that said, this is a sweet holiday read that will for sure get your spirits up and make you yearn for your own Orc to unwrap this Yule! 😂 As always, happy reading! 🎀🍪🗡️

I love seeing older people portrayed in books, especially fantasy!!
Since this book is a novella, I can understand why everything seemed to move so quickly, but if I’m being totally honest, I wish this was a full-length book!! Lydia, Tryg, and Ezog are just so cute together and I love their dynamic, so I wish things would have been more flushed out, and the pacing a bit slower.

Wow!! What can I say about this festive treat?
“Yule’s by the Orcs” was an utter filthy delight filled to the brim with LOTS of spicy orc goodness, sweet orc-nog and a surprisingly wholesome and mature aged romance thats just as soft and cinnamonroll-y as Ezog.
This cute and cozy festive novella was written really well and carries the reader through the story very easily. The plot is light and sweet — which is a perfect counterbalance to the more intense spice. The epilogue was SO wholesome and left me smiling with all the soft, warm and cozy feels!
The spice is heavily prominent to this novella, and it’s so GOOD!! There is a mixture of MF scenes, MM scenes (which are graphic in their own nature) and MMF scenes which are all open door and deliciously steamy! And, being orcs, there is also copious amounts of sweet orc-nog goodness.
There are quite a few themes in this book that are worth mentioning, and I’ll list them below. I have left out a few in regards to the spicy scenes that I don’t feel warrant any trigger/content warnings — and some I’ve listed where listed by the author themselves at the start of the book.
