Rather than the 25 to 30 chapters found in most environmental science textbooks, the authors have limited "Principles of Environmental Science: Inquiry and Applications" to 15 chapters--perfect for the one-semester, non-majors environmental science course. True to its title, the goal of this concise text is to provide an up-to-date, introductory view of essential themes in environmental science along with offering students numerous opportunities to practice scientific thinking and active learning.
The content of this book was easy to understand and was laid out fine. However, the preventable spelling and grammatical mistakes were just too distracting and made the overall experience dreadful.
I never knew the human impact on the environment to be such a major problem. One of the most important topics of our day. Absolutely. Highly recommend this book!
Great textbook, I found the illustrations to be very helpful. Each chapter begins with a real word case study, which really makes readers apreaciate learning about the environment, and the different ways we can make more sustainable choices. It's not a boring textbook, I wish all textbooks were organized the way this one is, it's very engaging, and easy to read...relates to the international version.
