Just seven years ago I never imagined I would have another pet if any kind. If I thought about it I assumed I would get another beagle like we had when I was young. Then one day my co worker brought an adorable grey lionhead rabbit into work. She intended him to be a pet therapist at the nursing home we worked at. He was named Orange Juice at first, changed to Apple Juice or AJ as no one could call such an adorable creature OJ. It was love at first sight for us both and AJ became determined that he would come home with me napping under my desk and jumping up on my lap while I was trying to do paperwork. When he was nine months old my co worker asked me to take him for a long weekend, that weekend turned to a few months and it's now been six years. Six of the happiest and best years my family has had. Because of that little grey furball who has brought laughter, comfort and purpose to us during some of our most challenging times. Already being sold on rabbits a goodreads friend suggested another rabbit book to me which lead me to this book. A better title cold be Chicken Soup for the Rabbit Lovers Soul. Uplifting, hilarious, touching and at times heartbreaking the stories in this book will come as no surprise to anyone who has rabbits in their lives and should be read by those who want to learn more about these amazing yet little known creatures. Too many times have I gotten looks of surprise when I tell tales of AJ. Rabbits have personalities? You bet they do! They also have attitudes, tempers and are capable of great compassion for those they love the most. Favourite stories in this book are the Veyton Place soap opera. I could picture the rabbits hopping around and interacting with each other. I also loved the stories told from the bunny's perspective. Just the way that a rabbit probably thinks. Foolish humans thinking they can keep me out of that room. Loved the stories and would highly recommend to anyone who has rabbits in their lives or anyone thinking of welcoming these little furry characters into their lives and hearts and trust me they will steal your heart whether you want them to or not.
