When Wanda brings her new ladybugs to school, she just wants Ms. Frizzle to give her some hints on caring for her insect pets. Instead, the whole class gets field trip. They find out pretty quickly that lots of insects eat other insects for lunch. And, there is a little issue of spiders, too. Yikes! It might be disgusting, but Wanda has to admit that the world of insect invaders is amazing.

I kind of liked this book because I liked the part when everyone became giant dragonflies. I did not like this book because I didn't really like the part when a golden retriever almost killed them.

This is another fun Magic School Bus chapter book. We have read a lot of Magic School Bus picture books and now we are working our way through the chapter books.

Ms. Frizzle and the kids go on a field trip to learn about insects and arachnids. It's a fun chapter book and a quick read. Our girls really enjoyed it, especially the section on the praying mantis (and of course, the ladybugs). Great for reinforcing science concepts by way of an interesting story.

The thing that I liked most about this book is that it had so much information about insects. For instance, dragonflies prefer to catch their prey in mid-air rather than on the ground. One thing that I remember is a dragonfly's prey is a mosquito.

We got most of these books read to us in second grade, since they had a lot to do with school. But honestly who would every think of shrinking a school bus and going on adventures with it?

There's a lot of insects being caught and eaten by other insects. Just a warning if you have a squeamish child.
