This book is an inspiring and somewhat disheartening look at a small inner city clinic and what it takes emotionally and financially to keep going for the staff. It looks at what nursing means as opposed to medicine and the function of each within a clinic setting. Veneta Masson is an excellent, thoughtful, intelligent writer, and I read this book quickly.

Great reflections on what nursing practice is comprised of and what it means to nurse well. Also appreciated her reflections on working with patients with challenging life circumstances.
