On Manhattan's Upper East Side. Everybody's fabulous. No one gets carded. Then someone dies.
The Party Room is where the prep school crowd goes to drink up and hook up. The cocktails are chill and the bartender's hot. Everyone knows everyone -- except the guy that Samantha Byrne leaves with one night.
The next day Sam's missing. Then she's found dead in Central Park, murdered brutally. It looks like a copycat killing of another girl who was murdered years earlier. By someone from Talcott Prep.
The killer is one of them. He knows where they live. And where they play....
I was TRANSPORTED back to the early 2000’s and it was QUITE a trip, no this isn’t a good mystery, and ya it’s got some things in it that don’t age well but the ~vibes~ were insane. in my mind 🧠 I am a rich 💰teen socialite 🧍🏻♀️👑living in New York 🌃 in 2005 💿
This book was one of the best books I have ever read. I started reading it one night because I was bored and I just could not fall asleep. It was about 10pm. At 4am, I found that my mind was racing rapidly trying to solve the mystery. Then I realized that it would not be solved until the 3rd book was finished. By then it was early in the morning and I had not slept at all that night. If it weren't for the fact that I did not have access to the other two, I doubt I would have slept. The next day, I bought the other two and finished them in similar ways. All three books were not put down until I had read them from cover to cover.
I just finished reading this book and it was so amazing! From the very beginning I was hooked. I dont think i had ever read a such a suspensful book. Once I started there was no stopping.
Just an ordinary night out at their favorite club turns out to be the worst night of their life for a group of friends. When one of their group, Sam, goes missing it takes a toll on everyone. Her best friend, Kristin, blames herself and soon finds herself questioning those around her for Sam's disappearance. Just when she thinks its all over she finds out that its only the beginning.
I cant wait to dive into the second part of this trilogy. I am sure Morgan Burke will deliever another thrill ride.
Quick read, suspenseful, keeps you in your toes. I love the twists and turns. The main character was a bit frustrating with her decisions but I can still appreciate the ride, it was a great choice for a quick enjoyable read. Excited for the next one!
The Party Room is one of my favorite books I have ever read because it involved murder and mystery of who killed her friend. There are two other books that follow the storyline of the murder of her friend. I forgot who the Characters names because it has been a while since I have read it. But, in general the book is very good story to read if you’re bored.
This is book for those who like teen drama and a little mystery. This is the first book I have read under this genre, I have more experience as a fantasy and sci-fi reader, therefore I do not have any other book to compare it to. This was my first taste of this genre, this book did not make me enjoy it that much, but I at least tried something new. The reason I might have not enjoyed this book as much as I would have liked to is because, the author, Morgan Burke, writing style is quite choppy and simple. For those who like complex sentences and captivating detail, this is not a book for you! This book spoke with a feminine voice and there were many drabby and dull areas where the author had lost my intrest. I took perseverance to finally complete the book. However, the author did convey the character's quite well, however the dialogue was quite cheesy. Being a teenager myself, the way the teen character's spoke was very cliche or very unbelievable. The author did have a good plot. Throughout the book Burke made sex/relationships a major theme, as well as being a good friend versus being a bad friend.Nonetheless, She did well for both making it a mystery and teenager relatable, however, I have no reference to compare it to. Overall I would give this book 2 stars, mainly because I enjoy reading, but this wasn't a book I enjoyed reading, however, I will consider to continue to try another book in this genre before I go to my confortable reading zone. I would recommend this book for 8-10th grade girls.

If you liked R.L. Stine, you will probably enjoy this one. It is kind of easy to figure out who the "bad guy" of this book is but I don't think he will be the bad guy of the series. Anyway it is an easy guilty read of teen murder mystery.
I read this while in high school and can remember being absolutely captivated by it. I read all three in a matter of a month however as an adult I couldn't quite get into it. I say good for younger readers
The part that I'm currently reading, Kristen's best friend Sammie is still missing and there is no sign of her anywhere. She is disturbed by the fact that she found a voicemail on her phone of her friend sreaming the night she disappeared.
Wooooow!! I really enjoyed this first book. I'm a massive sucker for mystery and thriller and this one was no different. With the little number of ratings on this series I was a little sceptical but I truly loved it. I'm starting the second book right now, I must!
This book was a quick read. Easy to follow. The story line was written well until the few last pages. I would continue reading the series if I had them.
I read this book in high school, probably about 10 years ago, and it is still one of my favorites to this day.. I really need to purchase it and re read the whole series. :)
