Lyfe is a black Adonis and one of the most powerful businessmen in the country. But there’s a His superior is his gorgeous wife Payton, who “discovered” Lyfe when he was a mere delivery man and brought him from the mean streets to the boardroom. Though Lyfe’s more than proven his mettle, Payton never lets him forget who’s in charge.
Arri is a secretary by day. But at night, this voluptuous honey secretly earns extra cash to support her junkie sister’s five-year-old son by operating the Web site, ASmoothOperator.pro. With her webcam, she bares all for the men who log on. But besides the guys who pay for their pleasure, Arri has no connection to men in real life. Her past is too painful, and she doubts she’ll ever be able to trust another man again—until she meets Lyfe, her new boss, and soon to be her lover.
But will they both be able to break free from old wounds and forge something solid? It will be a challenge to protect their present bliss from Payton’s vindictive nature and from an unexpected menace, who threatens to tear Lyfe down and ruin every good thing—on the job and in the bedroom—he and Arri have tried to build.
BRIEF SUMARY Lyfe is a successful businessman that came from nothing and made a name for himself with the help of his wife, Payton. He went from an UPS driver to the vice president of his wife’s company. Arri has been on her own at a young age since her mother abandon her family. As a secretary by day and working the webcam at night, Arri does what she needs to do to help support her nephew. When both Lyfe and Arri’s life intertwine, they will have to go up against a very jealous wife, who stops at nothing to get what she wants.
THOUGHTS
With friends and lovers like these, who needs enemies. Definitely, a tangle web was weaved with these characters in the way the author brought them together. With five main characters, I think sex was the sixth main character in this book, everyone was doing it, and it was used as a deadly weapon.
Payton, Lyfe’s wife, wants him to run the New York office of her corporation for a while to oversee things. Her motive soon becomes clear once he is in New York, and thus starts the drama of everyone’s life. Lyfe was definitely sexy, and dealing with a crazy wife, it brought out his dark and rough side. Payton was controlling, disgusting, crazy, psychotic, and sick in the head, enough of her. Arri is a provider for her and her nephew, and does what she has to do to survive and pay the bills. With her past, Arri finds herself unable to be close with anyone. So, when she connects with Lyfe, their chemistry was great and is worth the read. Quinton and Dominique’s characters defiantly brought an interesting twist to the story.
The first four pages onwards, double wow. What a way to start a book, the moment the story starts, it dives right in, literally. In addition, if you thought chapter one ended with a bang, chapter two with Arri did not disappoint at all. It felt as though the author was showing us what everyone was working with.
I enjoyed this book and it’s definitely up there with my taste in books. If you're looking for a morally and sweet romance, this is not the book for you. Also, note to reader, some sex scenes may not be to some readers liking.

Four stars because I could not have predicted the ending. Payton was a controlling, self centered. chick who spoke demeaningly to the men in her life and treated her husband Lyffe like one of her royal subjects. it wasn't until late in the book that her mother was introduced and I understood why that was. What the author failed to explain was how this Compton raised, Crypt member Lyfe would indulge her to the extent that he did. Good read.
Spoiler Free Review " Now like i said, get me my fuckin' money back and not a penny less. Otherwise, it's gonna be some slow singing and flower bringing". -Payton in Smooth Operator So i actually liked the bad guy, altho Payton was a bitch i liked her style but as usual love caught her and she started slippin.
Smooth Operator was about a man named Lyfe and a girl named Arri. Arri is living in Brooklyn workin check to check by day and as a smooth operator at night giving men a chance to have their fantasy via the webcam. Lyfe is VP at a company run by his wife Payton. Payton sends Lyfe from their headquarters in L.A.to New York. That's when he meets Arri and an affair begins. A whole lot of deception happens in this book along with Murder it kept me guessing til the end. And the ending was very good i never saw it comin and i really like that in book.
This book contains a lot of foul language and a lot of hood slang and at times it got in my way while reading but whatever i still enjoyed this read.
Smooth Operator gets all five stars plus one to grow. Risque really did a great job on this erotic novel. Payton is the woman you love to hate but she comes from a family of Smooth Operators and she takes readers on a shot gun ride from the East to the West Coast bring all the drama, humor and erotic as you turn the pages... Lyfe and Arri were at the right place at a crazy time. Will Quinton and Dominique's marriage last forever... and just when you think you got it all figured out BOOM! You will not be disappointed and you will also want as much more as the author can give you. The plot, story and characters were well placed inside the pages of this book. This book is just want reader want when reading erotic. I would recommend this book to many readers and book clubs from coast to coast. www.coast2coastreaders.com
A book I can read over and over. Love how Risque writes about real women. Arri just wants to take care of her nephew. Arri's boss Lyfe just wants his life..back from his evil controlling wife Payton. So what happens when Arri becomes the center of everything Lyfe wants..and needs in his life? Family squabbles and corrupt business practices added to the mix adds even more drama to the plot. Always a fan of Risque.
This was a hilarious Christmas gift. Bloody bloody awful. It gets a bonus star because I am amused that the author, Risque, includes a stupid quote to start off the book -- "You've been misled. Money is not the root of all evil. Pussy is." - Risque. Yes, she quoted herself. And didn't get the bible reference quite right either, but hey, apparently we've all been misled anyway.
This was pretty good. It's worth a read. Great plot and story line. I loved Lyfe's chatacter. Payton is the one you love to hate in this novel. Story had a nice twist. The ending was cool. However it seemed as if it could have been a little more suspenseful it felt like it was missing something. But over all not bad.
The story of the book was good except all of the cursing throughout the book was a huge turn-off. I probably will not read anything else by this author.
