This book was the best in the series. I was so glad to finally read one of her books about a character with some real flaws that are hard to overcome. I could sympathize with Emma, unlike some of her other books in this series where I felt the characters were pretty much purfect.
While this book was not my favorite, I really enjoyed the characters.

Finding Faith is very likely my favorite of all the Pirates & Faith books. I say very likely because it is so incredibly hard to choose. Emma is definitely my favorite character in Pirates & Faith, despite, or perhaps because of, her faults. Emma is headstrong and stubborn, she is sometimes childish, and her quick temper constantly lands her in trouble. And she's not interested in getting married. She has to apologize for her behavior quite a bit.

Finding Faith an exciting book filled with sailing adventures, pirate encounters, rescues, romance...there's never a dull moment. The first time I read it I stayed up until 1:00 in the morning because I was so absorbed in the story I completely lost track of time. I know I always mention how well developed Molly's characters are, but after reading a book with poor character development, I really notice whether they are well developed or not. And the characters in Finding Faith certainly are. They are so very themselves, and I love them. I really care about what happens to Molly's characters, which is more than I can say for some books. Skye and Will are in Finding Faith, so it was really nice to be able to see what has been going on with them in the years since A Captain's Heart. The climax is intense, emotional, and heartrending. I won't say anymore, because I don't want to give away the ending, but I do want to say, if you haven't already, read Pirates & Faith! It is an amazing series!

My one complaint: Finding Faith is the last Pirates & Faith book. I really hated to say goodbye to all the characters. At least I can always read them all again!

Age Appropriate For: 10 and up for mild peril, mild violence, and mild romance
Best for Ages: 10 and up

I wasn’t sure how I was going to like a book about a female captain, but I really ended up loving Emma. The balance between Emma’s love of sailing and her femininity was perfect. A big round of applause to Molly for doing just a great job. I ended up not only liking Emma, but connecting with her.

Emma has a temper, which gets her into trouble more than once. This only made her seem more real. She struggled to control her anger, and failed many times. Yet, that doesn’t keep her from trying to make it right and going to God for help.
The romance, as with all of Molly’s books was so sweet. There were maybe one or two kisses but they were very sweet and not overly passionate. I just love how Molly does the romance in her stories.

I am kind of sad I have reached the end of this series, because it was so good. However, I felt the ending really was very satisfying, not only for the character of Emma, but some of the other characters of the series (like Sky and Will). I hope that someday, Molly write historical fiction again, because she does it so well.

I highly recommend this book to those who like books about faith, adventure, strong female characters, and sweet romance.

The main character in this book is Emma. Emma is a spirited and spunky girl. On her twentieth birthday, she finally gets her own ship, on which she is the captain. On this ship she has many adventures, including encounters with pirates. I really like it that though there is lots of action and adventure, Molly takes time to incorporate their Christian faith into the story.

Her characters are very well developed. I have read many books before where the characters are just characters, and I don’t really get to know them or their personalities. With Molly’s books, it is a whole different case. Her characters come to life, and she does a wonderful job making each and every one of them unique.

The time period this book is written in, is very different than we live in now. I particularly like it how she doesn’t write very many descriptions, but yet makes it so you can really picture what she’s talking about.

I love Molly’s books because they are engaging and they move along quickly. I find them hard to put down!

Aw, is this really the last of Pirates & Faith? :( The conclusion to the series takes place several years after A Captain's Heart and centers around Will's spunky half sister, Emma. Typically I don't enjoy extremely independent woman who think they can do everything themselves, but Emma was an exception. It just made for some good character growth. And Justin. He was a great character. So sweet and forgiving. The back and forth between him and Emma was great, though I had to feel sorry for the poor guy. Though not as long as the two before, Finding Faith was an exciting adventure and great end to a great series.
