"I don't know if my case is boring or not but if you ever decide to look into it further, then I'll be glad to give you all the details from my point of view. I promise that I'll give you the story all the way live and raw without a single detail left out. All I want is for people to know what goes on in the mind of a serial rapist, what drove me to where I am today, what women can do to avoid being raped, and what women should do if ever confronted by a rapist. Finally someone will hear what I've got to say about what I did what I did and what led up to those string of events that caused me to lose my stability and go on a rampage...." Meet Reggie. Or maybe you'd rather not. With almost half of his thirty nine years of life spent behind bars for sexual assaults, Reggie is a self admitted convicted serial rapist. Sentenced to a twenty year prison sentence in 1991 for first degree rape, Reggie is released after spending almost fourteen years behind bars. Eleven months later and after a series of more brutal rapes in West Baltimore, he is quickly labeled as "The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Rapist." Shocking and unbelievably honest, Reginald boldly opens up to the author revealing not only why he became a rapist, but what women can do to avoid becoming a victim of rape as well as the real on what to do if confronted by a rapist. BOLD. RAW. UNCENSORED. Until I Get Caught - The True Story of a Serial Rapist In Baltimore is Real Life Production's finest materpiece in all true "Reality Writing."
Reggie details a regular childhood filled with both parents where he was raised to believe in Jehovah. At 10 years old, Reggie became a repeated victim of sodomy, at the hands of his best friend, Timmy. Shame and fear of losing his friend, Reggie’s wild behavior and antics were kicked into overdrive as he found himself using and abusing drugs, stealing, neglecting his personal hygiene, dismissing his faith and failing school. As he grew into an adolescent, Reggie’s abuse, the rejection of the opposite sex made him feel as if he was unattractive and unapproachable.
Reggie walks readers through his transition from peeping tom, stalker, molester into a full-blown rapist. Eventually caught and prosecuted for rape, Reggie served 14 years for his crimes. Once home, Reggie’s mind is quickly back on chance and opportunity about catching more unsuspecting victims. While he does manage to control himself for a little, it’s not long before he’s back on a sexual rampage.
By the end of the story, I was beyond disturbed. Not only is dude a rapist, but he has the gall to call himself educating females on safety, submission and then to question the what, why or how a woman is doing something. I pray that he is truly remorseful. But after reading this book, I feel as if he has found a way to turn things around and blame the victims. Obviously he is in need of serious counseling, but the fact that he will spend the remainder of his natural born life behind bars is sufficient. I pray that his victims will receive any and all proceeds from this book. And it is very important that ANY woman who has been a victim of any type of sexual assault know that it is NOT her fault regardless of what she’s wearing, what time of the evening it is, or where she is! We should ALL be able to participate in our own lives without fear.
REAL LIFE PRODUCTIONS, I highly recommend using both a developmental and copy editor. The story is basically on repeat, using the wrong tenses, misspelled words and missing punctuation. While Tia L. Lincoln's name is on the book, the words are those of Reggie, the serial rapist. It's told in first person without the word biography on the cover. It would be advantageous for Ms. Lincoln to learn and understand that there is a difference.
Another amazing book buy Tia Lincoln. I love her books, all of them are non fiction. I invested in every book she's ever written and i'm so glad I did!
