Highly acclaimed for its content and design, this running guide is a great resource for all runners. It includes everything you need to start a running program plus plenty to keep you running for years to come. · training programs · stretching · nutrition · cross-training · weight training · marathons · injuries · and more.
This was a very informative book as I begin down the path to reconnect with running. I found it a very straight forward read that gave me a basic lay of the land of what I should be planning and expect from setting running goals for myself.
I wish I had actually read this before I started running, as I would have reduced the amount of stress/discomfort I placed on my body from not fully preparing it for the impact running initially creates.
Good book for people getting into running. I would say its pretty niche of a subject but the information in the book is legit even if its an old book. Would recommend!
This is a book about running. It seems geared more towards beginners. It's a fairly dated book (Giving advice such as keeping change with you so you can call for help on a payphone.) But it does give good advice from the very beginning of a program- from building up your walking time to paces and psychology for marathons. It covers everything from dressing appropriately, hydration, types of injuries, and the psychology of a run. The one section I found sort of lacking was the one for women. It primarily focuses on how to run when pregnant.
Va droit au but. On pourrait déplorer l'espace démesuré que prennent les tableaux de présentation des programmes, lesquels auraient pu être présentés sur quatre fois moins de pages, mais compte tenu de la qualité de ces dits programmes, eh bien, passons.
