I've had this on my tbr for a long time and I found the story to be entertaining. This is a story of a pandemic and it is set in the Toronto area, near the Great Lakes and Michigan area. It is speculative, apocalyptic but the author's opinion is this is literary fiction. There is much about the book that makes it unique.
