I didn't know what to expect when I picked up The Harp in the South. The Retro-Reads book group had selected the novel to read in the fall of 2017 so I dutifully ordered the book. When my copy arrived it had the ugliest cover which made me not want to read it (I know, I know, "don't judge a book by its cover").
