I definitely did not like this is much as I thought I would. I didn't like the main character, Greg, I didn't like Earl at all, and Rachel's character was so under-developed, I never felt like I really knew her at all. In my opinion, the way that every black character was portrayed in this book was extremely stereotypical.

I read this with goodreads read with friends group. I really wanted to like this book but the only thing I did like was the beautiful colorful cover. I searched high and low for the beautiful original cover not the ugly yellow one they have now in bookstores. Also wanted to read this before the movie comes out next month. I have such a mixed feelings about this book! I love how different it is, how it's not trying to be soul sucking tearjerker. And I even love the visual aspect and the feel of this book! But to be quite honest it wasn't as funny as I expected it to be... I guess I just grew out of this type of humour. Too bad I didn't read it when I first bought it because I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more.

I just finished reading this book and I can't decide weather I liked this book or not haha For the most part I think I liked it but I didn't love this book they way I thought I would. It is very different from any book I have read so that was a nice change.

It's very rare that I give 1 star to a book I read. Unfortunately for this month this is the winner. I didn't feel any sympathy with the characters nor did I like them. I normally like "sick lit" but this was just not my cup of tea. I wish I liked it more then I did.

I finally powered through and finished this. I wouldn't recommend it to friends. The end wasn't so bad but not good enough to make up for how much I didn't like the first two thirds of the book.
