I haven't stayed up until 5am to finish a book in a while - it felt good. This was a great murder-mystery thriller, and more interesting as it's set in Sweden and deals with journalists, corporations, and hackers. Good stuff!

Exciting and fast paced. It turns out most of the readers in my family had loved this one so I decided to check it out, even though I'm not really a mystery reader. But it was good, and I read it in a day, which was all I really wanted.

I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I picked up the book and it sat around for a few weeks, eventually I started thumbing through it. The first twenty pages confused me. I couldn't decide if it was my state of mind or the plot. Eventually I decided to do something I've never done before. I watched the film first, the Swedish version with subtitles. It actually helped. I started to see how the pieces would fit together and it eased the transitions and blended the various storyli

Call me a sheep; I enjoyed reading this thriller just like everyone else in the world. Lisbeth Salander is one of the most original and intriguing heroines to come along in fiction in a while. Noomi Rapace is perfect, perfect casting and just blew me away when I saw the film, which added to my wanting to read the rest of the series. Am now on book 3...

First of all, this book needs a trigger warning. The blurb on the back called it a "sexy thriller." I'd like to tell the quoted man that simply because it has sex does not mean that it's sexy.
It was a quick read, despite its length, because I did want to see what happened. I'm not quite infatuated with Salander as everyone else seems to be, but I liked her well enough and will probably read the subsequent books. there are a lot of open-faced sandwiches in this book.

Fast-paced read that kept me thorougly entertained on a trans-atlantic flight. Does have a few graphic/twisted scenes, so beware if that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea... Looking forward to #2 in the trilogy.

I only have 20 pages left- I can't believe I have to work all day and can't finish- how did I let this happen??

For the first half I did NOT like this book. Then -- pretty much once the two main characters finally start working together -- it picked up a bit and started to improve. A lot of things about Lisbeth's characterization still bother me; she seems to be a caricature of your dad's idea of a punk girl, it seems very contrived and removed.
I'll read the second one but I'm going to save it for a vacation or something. ...more

Read during my vacation to Boston. Once I got past the first fifty pages, it was a page turner. There is some hinky stuff that creeped me out - that I didn't expect - but overall I really enjoyed it. Well written.
