A bit gritty and grotesque in some parts but overall a plot that really drew me in. With its flawed but heroic main character, mystery, and strangeness, this book was one of the more unique YA books I've read. I liked that it was suspenseful without being stressful. I'd like to go back and read the sequel to The Eternal Ones which I read and enjoyed a few years ago. ...more
