I think that was my first experience with the nomads Bruder talks about, with the vehicle-dwelling houseless--and so I was glad this book was in my queue, ready to give context to the phenomenon.

Nomadland is a good book on a very important topic. I think that it could have been a great book, though, had the author approached it somewhat differently. The profiles of van-dwellers she spent time with were quite important for establishing an understanding of what these people's lives are like but, as a study of a phenomenon, they really needed a bit more quantitative backing.
