This book was a fascinating read! I wonder if Hofstadter is aware of how close to Buddha-Dharma much of what he believes is? In fact, there are whole chapters I will be presenting Dharma Talks based upon. As far as "Secular Buddhism" or "Naturalist Buddhism," there's very little disagreement -- on the nature of consciousness, identity, will etc.
